habe diese Matte gekauft, um meine Feuerschale auf meinen tollen Rollrasen zu stellen. Waren am Anfang skeptisch, aber durch mehrfaches grillen mittlerweile mit Holz. In der Feuerschale muss ich sagen, dass meinem Rollrasen nichts passiert ist. Die Mathe hlt die Hitze super zurck und lsst auch nicht durch.
Only got to use this once as my summer was a bit of a wash out. It does the job and protects the patio. I used it with a BBQ which kept it pinned down. Quality looks good but further use will determine its longevity. Recommend.
Quantity seems pretty good for the price paid. Only used once for a long period, but it protected my slate patio slabs so I’m pleased so far! Not the most visually pleasing, but if it does the job then I can deal with that.
This is exactly as it states on the labelling — a multi layer heat resistant mat. It has a ‘silvered’ top surface to reflect heat away and to protect grass or decking which is beneath your fire pit or BBQ.
Two cautionary points here:
– Firstly, the fire pit or BBQ needs to be a minimum of at least 4 inches (10 cms) above the mat
– Secondly, if used on decking your fire source MUST NOT be in an indoor or enclosed area.
To summarise the mat does the job, the silver surface is easily wiped clean and the whole thing is easily folded and packed away until next time.
This large (36” diameter) grill mat is designed to protect surfaces such as lawns, decking and counter tops from the heat of a barbeque or fire pit etc. It has three layers of fire-resistant protection including fibreglass and is easy to wipe clean if there are any spillages. It’s suitable for use with appliances which are on legs or stands, ie not placed directly onto the mat, and can be used as a small fire blanket in emergencies, which is good to know.
The surface material of the firepit mats are aluminium-fiberglass to reflect 95% of all searing heat.

We got this to go under our new large firepit and the size is perfect for what we needed it is much bigger than others I have seen, we tested this on our fake grass and the fire did not damage it at all so it works perfectly, it is easy to clean and pack away after use.
This is a whopper of a mat. It’s got a shiny top side and black the other. Both appear to be fireproof material, the black looking very similar to fireproof wallets I’ve got for documents in my safe.
The edges are nicely stitched with a cotton material, which I’m not sure is as fireproof, but overall it’s a fabulous mat. Thick enough not to be punctured by feet of a BBQ and large enough to capture ash and also protect from heat.
There seems to be fibreglass insulation inside, so it does protect from heat as well as resist burning itself.
Whilst I knew this was a big mat from the description, it certainly fits the bill when you open it. Reflective on one side, and black on the other and hexagonal shaped. The silver side reflects the heat back to the source of the fire.
There are a lot of fibres stuck to both sides which can irritate the skin and are very bad for you when breathed in. I suggest a quick go with the vacuum cleaner as soon as you receive it and throw away the packaging. It really would be quite simple to remove these during manufacture.
I have had little success with protecting my grass from firepits in the past. Putting a concrete slab underneath, watering the grass before and during, using a welding mat (it was clearly too small), bricks and combinations of the above. Nothing really worked.
My last firepit has ceased to be, so I concocted one out of an old BBQ. I placed the fire pit on some bricks and stones on top of the mat, so the distance was about 6 inches. Quite close but not touching. I lit the fire, which burned for about an hour. Then Iet the fire cool with the hot ash inside a lid cover for a further hour. After removing the pit, the mat was cold and lifting it, it had some condensation underneath. So far so good. The grass underneath looked healthy and not dry, which would be a sign it was dead. Cleaning was easy, just a wipe down to remove some grass and ash, fold and put away.
Everything looks good for this grill mat to be exactly what I am looking for to protect the ground under a firepit or BBQ. With so many people opting for a staycation, many caravan and campsites only allow BBQs well off the ground and really frown on any damage to the grass. This would seem the ideal accessory to ensure your BBQ is campsite owner friendly.
This mat is heavy duty and thick, the rubber backing looks like it would have a bit of a beating and the reflective side seems well made, the size is also great for my large firepit but I will be using this for my mini BBQ on picnics.
Only issue I had was after opening there was a lot of fibreglass fibres floating around which could cause irritation, I don’t know if this is going to always happen or if this was inside the packaging.
This is a neat fire pit/ BBQ mat.
It looks fab.
It is a good size.
I will use it under my fire pit.

This CestMall 36” Fireproof Grill Mat is a good size and is definitely the thickest and sturdiest of the fire mats I’ve seen. It’s silver on the upper side and black on the underside. It’s easy to wipe clean and it’s waterproof so spills onto the mat are no problem. The idea of the mat is to protect your lawn or decking from fire damage when having a BBQ or a fire pit and it does a good job of that. Sparks and a bit of hot ash don’t seem to damage it at all, however you can’t have a fire directly on the mat, you need a BBQ or fire pit that has legs. I’m happy to give this fireproof mat 5 stars due to it’s size, good quality and thick layered construction.
