Quality construction, packaged carefully. The sound was very good. No regrets purchasing this, the price is almost the same if not lower than most cheap little transistor box preamps. I didnt try the other upgraded tubes that people say are much better , if that is true, I would imagine that would be just amazing. So far these included tubes sound just fine. One tip on installing the tube….handle with clean hands not to get oil on the tubes it will shorten their life when they heat and most important…be very careful inserting the tubes into the pin holes, take your time…make sure they line up , dont force them. Try then if they are tight , stop look at the pins and ever so gently maybe bent them a tiny bit to straighten them so they aline with all the holes of each pin , then push gently until it seats, you dont want a bent pin or force them too much.
Ottima qualit del suono, presenti e ben frenati i bassi, suono equilibrato, ottima separazione dei canali, nessun rumore di fondo; decisamente superiore ai circuiti RIAA integrati nei preamplificatori, si sente la piacevole presenza delle valvole in luogo dei siderali circuiti integrati.
Aspetto grazioso, riscalda pochissimo, facile assemblaggio, unica pecca, proprio a voler essere puntigliosi, la mancanza di una protezione per le valvole che rimangono esposte a possibili urti per questo va collocato in uno spazio congruo. Sicuramente ottimo rapporto qualit/prezzo. in ultimo la cosa fondamentale: il circuito RIAA fa egregiamente il suo mestiere.
Ich hatte zuerst Probleme mit diesem Verstrker, da nach einigen Tagen nur noch der linke Ausgang zuverlssig Signale lieferte. Ich habe das Verbindungskabel ausgewechselt uns sogar die Rhren (hatte ich aber eh vor) ausgewechselt. Kein Erfolg! Ich habe dann das Gert auseinandergenommen und ein paar Tests vorgenommen (ich dachte z.B. an eine kaputte Ltstelle). Auch das hatte keine Erfolg. Durch Zufall stelle sich dann heraus das der Audio Input an der Vorderseite defekt ist. Ich finde es total schade das aufgrund eines mangelhaften (und offensichtlich sehr kostengnstigen, den ich aber auch nie nutzen werde) Steckers, das ganze Gert leidet. Denn von den Komponenten und der Verarbeitung war ich doch berrascht. Alle Komponenten sind bersichtlich auf einer Leiterpatte plaziert. Der Haupt-IC ist in einem SMD Gehuse. Alle Komponenten machen einen soliden Eindruck. Alle Ltstellen waren sauber. Daher mein positives Fazit trotz der sehr rgerlichen Erfahrungen.
So far sounds good enough , no buzzes or hums . The noise floor that I could measure was at -70ish with the platter spinning, with a loud passage it was up round -9 on the loudest passages .I haven’t tried any other tubes’ so far. I’ve transfers in some albums in with Focusrite A/D and have been happy so far.
The unit seems sensitive to ground loop hum. When I first plugged it in, I was very pleased. After about 10 minutes, a loud ground hum started. Turning off the unit would make it go away temporarily, but always returned within minutes.
I was able to resolve this by simply plugging the preamp into the same electrical outlet as the turntable and amp.
Now I’m enjoying the nice warm colour of this amp and rediscovering a lot of old vinyl that I forgot I owned.
I was amazed at how, for this price (I got it for $73AU), what an effective phono preamp this is. I have been using it with a Music Hall MMF 1.5f Turntable connected to a set of Edifier S2000MKII’s and have been enjoying my vinyl with great balance and clarity .
I was using the TT built in pre-amp initially and when I connected the Fosi the difference was very noticeable, using the gain switch, I got a more powerful and punchy signal immediately. The ‘warmth’ factor is there, it really reminds me of my childhood listening to records on my folks Marantz system. The bass is noticeably thicker and more powerful. The Edifiers have detailed highs and mids, so this Fosi preamp compliments my set up perfectly by rounding out the overall sound and giving it that bit of warmth and oomph. This is great value and quality.
Come primo step nel mondo dei prephono pi che sufficente per sentire la differenza da quello che hanno a bordo gli amplificatori con l’ingresso phono, ti accorgi da subito il dettaglio, la sola cosa da fare da subito aggiornare la coppia di valvole con le 5654w e passato il periodo di rodaggio renstituiscono ancora pi chiarezza e precisione. Chiaramente tutto sempre in rapporto della catena audio dove istallato…
I do not have an extra audio amp with working moving magnet phono inputs that i can use to feed a rig I have for ripping vinyl to digital. This little beauty brings the phono cartridge output up to line level which then goes into my KLH noise reduction units and then to the analog to digital converter that then feeds a sound recording app running on my laptop. I’m very happy with the quality of the sound I’m getting from my old record collection. both classical and rock.
I got this mostly for the novelty of the glowing blue valves. Comparing this to my other pre-amp (Cambridge Audio Alva Solo) this unit ramps up the bass quite a bit. Overall it sounds good and at this price is very good value.
So.. after buying a different pre-amp in an attempt to get some volume from my Pioneer PL-516 turntable on my PioneerVSX-515 Receiver, using the CD inputs, as it doesn’t have a dedicated Phone input, I thought I would buy this unit, as it specifically mentioned, that its a Phone Pre-Amp. When I received it, I was thinking I was just going to have the same issues that I had with the first Pre-amp I ordered – ie – no real audio. I was pleasantly surprised however! This pre-amp was JUST THE TICKET! I can finally listen to vinyl again! Haven’t listened to vinyl in almost 40 years! I LOVE the sound! Only downside… I have to flip the album.. lol! Digital is nice for long play… but.. I still like the warmth of vinyl/analogue. Thanks Fosi! Nice unit! Quality built! Doesn’t feel cheap by any means! The blue lights from the tubes look nice too! 🙂
I used a y-cable and hooked this up with and without the tube amp. Switching back and forth between inputs, you can DEFINITELY hear the difference between analog and digital preamp.
Try Back in Black. The lows of the bass and the highs of Brian Johnson’s vocals truly show the difference. Let it play for 2 minutes with digital to get your ears used to it. Then switch to tube. I’ve tried this test with three friends who are not audiophiles, to make sure that I was not just hearing what I wanted to hear. All three agreed, there is a difference.
If you are serious enough to have vinyl, then $70 is a small price to pay for the sound difference.
Y-split it. If you don’t agree, return it.

Bought a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Espirit 4,5 years ago and added it up with my CD gears: Denon DVD 3910, HK 3490 Integrated Amp, Revel Performa M22, and Paradigm Reference sub. I simply used HK 3490’s on board phono input and wasn’t blown away by the overall sound: it was decent but somewaht lacking in dynamics and not very convincing in imaging either. I got bored with it and didn’t used it much. I bumped into this Fosi phono pre-amp on Amazon recently while looking for something else. Seeing those great reviews I decided to give it a try – nothing to loose. Simple straight forward connection, using stock tubes that came with the package, and WHAT a difference it MADE! Full, dynamic sound with vivid, lively imaging, much broader sound stage, at the same time very immersive and intimate sound experience! I played around with the 3 gain settings on Fosi and the 1st gear sounds the best to me. For the 1st time I really got to appreciate the beauty of vinyl…put my semi-reference level DVD player to shame! If you have never used an external phono pre-amp, this would be a wonderful choice. Highly recommend!
I have an iPad running hi-res audio out of the Apple lightning to 3.5″ adaptor which has a really nice little built-in 24/48 DAC.
The music is going from the Fosi via rca into a full-blown hi-fi system with reference quality monitors and subwoofers and solid state electronics.
I have not done any A/B comparisons to see if there’s any significant difference in the sonic characteristics of a direct connection to the preamp/amp versus running the 3.5 through this Fosi as a buffer stage.
What I can say is I love the audio I hear so far, not harsh. Clear, dynamic, warm and less digital sounding. What else can I say, I love this little preamp. Monster value and audiophile sound on an extreme budget! Other tubes can be tried so this is a nice addition and refinement to my system!
I recently installed an older turntable to my Bose lifestyle system, off course needed to amplify and ground the outputs, researched this product and read reviews, decided to purchase it and it worked perfectly fine,, amplified the sounds and of course the subwoofer, connection was easy and simple.. so far so good and happy with this purchase.
Ad un primo ascolto sembra ottimo. Nessun rumore di fondo ed un bel suono. Purtroppo una delle due valvole dopo una decina di ore di funzionamento si bruciata e non c’ stato verso di sostituirla tramite venditore Ho comunque ordinato altre valvole sostitutive. L’articolo risultava comunque difettoso, contattato il venditore, ha risolto con l’invio di un nuovo prodotto a titolo gratuito. Ottima assistenza
I didn’t know what to expect with this item. I can say that I am extremely happy with the purchase. Paired with Fosi Audio TDA7498E Mini Amp along with Angels Horn turntable. What a value and amazing sound. I would highly recommend this setup, I am enjoying all of my old vinyl again and starting to collect new. Family loves it and always asks me to play records and I love that they are getting a taste of the music I grew up with.
This is a great item for you turntable and is small and light so can fit in most spaces. Well made and all ports look solid.
I have a teac Al 2000 amp and a systemdek x11 turntable the sound from the turntable was on the lower end of output through the preamp in the amplifier not bad sounds very nice but somehow lacking so i bought this unit just for shits an giggles to see if i could get some gain. ran it through the phono preamp first they did not get along at all so i have run it through the Auxillary channel massive difference ive been squirlling my vynil for the last 45 years of music that is monumental to me anyway i cant complain one bit about this purchase its like the start all over again very pleased and that is with the chinesium valves i will look into different but right now very happy

This product out of the adjustable earphone output of my Victrola phonograph filled the tones set moderately. The auto level out the RCA outputs would distort through the preamp. It takes the mini phones signal at half and fills sound properly to then go out into my old Bose radio. Sounds very good for records.
I bought this to replace my Little Bear pre-amp that I was using with my vintage Sherwood amp. The built-in phono amp on the Sherwood isn’t that great (very tinny, thin sound). The Fosi amp really brought a rich, full, clean experience. I was a little nervous when I first set it up because it had a loud buzz. Turns out the speaker ground wire had come loose on the back of the amplifier. Once I attached it the buzzing was gone and it was pure Iron Maiden.
I understand this may be further enhanced by fiddling around with different valve sets as well. In this latter regard, I did at the same time purchase the ( allegedly) upgraded valves for an extra 15, but I was disappointed when I received these, as despite what it says on the Amazon website, these were not USA manufactured, made in China writ large on the box(!), so I returned these with a frustrated sense of misrepresentation, unusual for Amazon on the whole.
In terms of downsides, I do think that the increased fullness and warmth have come in terms of sacrificing some detail/ clarity at the top end, although as mentioned above the overall sound is still pleasing. I think it’s probably very much a matter of personal taste; if you are used to digital music you will notice, more of a rounding off of the overall sound, but in some scenarios this could be handy to reign in excessively harsh treble. Horses for courses really.
On the whole I’m pleased with my purchase and expect I will be keeping this item.
UPDATE: I acquired another set of valves, Siemens NOS, from eBay, and these immediately lifted the sound further, the bottom end retained its clunk but sharpened up, and a lot more top end detail was revealed. So it does seem that whilst the base package is overall good value an extra 15-20 on better valves is money well spent, with European or American valves seeming to he the way to go.

I used the item as pre-amp for a Pioneer PL12D which I bought in 1972. The sound was very good.
The positive reviews of this pre amp are absolutely right. The increased quality in sound, depth and presence is nothing short of breathtaking. I’m completely blown away by the performance of this and at the amazing price it’s a no-brainer if you’re looking for a decent sounding pre amp that’s value for money.
Get this if you are planning to get a new turntable, this is a must have to appreciate full dynamic range of the vinyl. There are other similar ones out there, and I am sure they all do the job. Gain option is great, simplistic, looks great and you can even change the tubes for better ones later on, the stock ones are great though.
I was skeptical about a tube phono preamp for $60 or whatever it cost at the time. Plugged it in and sounded great. My receiver didn’t have a phono preamp and this fit the bill nicely. Doesn’t seem to add any noise to the system, nice and quiet at the highest gain setting. (which I keep it at for my TT, Technics SL-1200 MK5). I gave it 5 stars for “sheerness” I couldn’t even get a good definition online to what that is. There are sellers who provide upgrade tubes and I bought them and never put them in. The originals sound fine. There is very little switching noise if I have the receiver on and then power on the preamp. Cute blue glow from LEDs under tubes. Nice touch.
Die Lautstrke lsst sich in 3 Stufen dem nachgeschalteten Verstrker anpassen. Fr meinen Marantz CR-522 ist es immer noch zu leise. Das kann man aber mit dem Volumenregler des Verstrkers ausgleichen, nur dass ich den Volumenregler beim Zurckwechseln auf andere Quellen wieder um ca. 50% reduzieren muss, aber das lsst sich leicht verschmerzen.
Tried a few other brands of cheap phono pre amps. All were terrible. This was the only one that was nice and clear. Good build quality. Plus the tunes look cool light up in your rig. Highly recommend.
Having bought the Project evo turntable which requires a Pre amp & had a look at a few others decided on this one mainly because of the fact that it was a valve, anyone old enough to remember the 70s & 80s will remember valve amps. Three different dB settings from the well made box all require assembly, valves went straight in, with caution, easily set up & a great compliment to the turntable & speakers. Reviews I’ve read said the valves will get better with time, the sound is pretty fantastic straight out the box , looking forward to listening when this happens, we’ll see. Overall a cracking product we’ll made & value for money.

Per il costo, ottimo prodotto; pi avanti sostituir le valvole con le originali americane. Anche cos suono armonioso, caldo, assenza totale di fruscii e ronzii. Gradevole anche l’estetica. Sulla qualit del suono metto 4 stelle perch presumo che con le valvole americane possa migliorare ulteriormente. Lo ricomprerei sicuramente. (Testina Ortofon concorde 10R + sintoamplificatore Harman Kardon da 60 Watts IHF per 5 canali + sub amplificato JBL, casse JBL)

Einem reloop Turn 5 vorgeschaltet, gesendet an ein vernnftigen Empfnger und Musikauswerfer Namens sonoro eine Sensation. Grossartiger Klang, ausgewogen differenziert, krftig. Ich bin erstaunt, was ich auf meinen alten Jazzplatten von AMIGA pltzlich alles hre. Auch ein Beispiel fr gute Pressungen. Wer bei den alternativ angebotenen und hochgelobten Matched Pairs Tubes noch mehr hrt, wird mit hochgezogenen Augenbrauen bestraft. Es sei denn, er htte Fledermausohren. Ist wie bei Jazzern, die ein Vinyl wegen Kratzern zurckgeben, auf denen keine sind. Alles andere ist Bldsinn. Auch dass sie zu stark und zu blau leuchten. Audiophilie scheint sich in den Nebenwirkungen auf die Augen zu legen. Aber im Ernst, viel Spass beim hren und geniessen… wrde ich wieder kaufen und empfehlen.

E’ un apparecchio indispensabile per chi ha un amplificatore senza entrata “Phono”, ma anche utile per chi ha un amplificatore dotato, ma vuole “vivacizzare” il suono, infatti molti costruttori di amplificatori “entry level” montano un pre phono piuttosto economico. Con questo apparecchio il suono pi dinamico e piacevole. Conviene (come ho fatto io) sostituire le valvole in dotazione, con altre pi prestanti.
Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung. Bin berascht was das Gert aus einer Schallplatte rausholen kann.
Habe auch gleich die gematchten 5654W Rhren eingesetzt und kann ber die mitgelieferten Rhren nichts sagen.
Was ich nicht verstehe ist warum man Rhren mit blauen LED anleuchten muss. Nun dieses Problem hat sich sehr leicht beheben lassen.
Bin rundum zufrieden und werde jetzt den Rest des Tages Platten hren…
I was amazed by the quality and sound of this unit, really bringing my vinyl to life and sounding excellent with no ground hum or anything. Even with the stock chinese tubes it sounds great but I will eventually buy a matched pair of other tubes to try out with it for a different sound.
Highly recommended for any vinyl enthusiast that wants their music to come to life and sound nice and organic.
I bought this because my pioneer Av receiver did not support a turntable so I hooked this up to my old Sony turntable and it works great the sound quality is fantastic and for such a great price it’s a no brainer well worth the money thanks.
This phono preamp was a real surprise. I just bought a new high-end integrated amplifier that does not include a phono preamp. My plan was to buy this inexpensive Fosi unit until I could afford one from a high-end vendor like PS Audio or perhaps Pass Labs. After listening to the Fosi, my plans have changed. This little tube phono stage sounds so good, is so quiet and so accurate (I have a reverse RIAA filter, and ran a frequency response sweep from my audio generator. It was dead-on) that I can’t imagine one of the much more expensive units being qualitatively any better.
Der Phono-Vorverstrker liefert mit den von mir getesteten Tonabnehmern eine offene u. klare Musikwiedergabe.(Evtl. Ersatzrhren GE5654 mitbestellen). Durch die Stromversorgung mit Gleichspannung ist auch kein Netzbrummen hrbar. Sogenannte “Brummschleifen” treten oft mit Laufwerken auf, bei denen die Abschirmung des L. und R.- Kanals miteinander verbunden sind. Dieses Gert ist auch eine gute Alternative zu einigen integrierten Phono-Vorstufen in Receivern u. Vollverstrkern. Ich bin jedenfalls berrascht von der Qualitt des preisgnstigen Rhren-Phonovorverstrkers.
Mehr geht natrlich immer – trotzdem Top!
Hinweis: wenn ihr den Plattenspieler anschliet – Kabel inkl. Erdung verwenden – beliebigen, freien Eingang beim Receiver whlen (jedoch nicht Phono-Eingang). Phono-Eingang am Receiver dient nur bei Verwendung ohne Vorverstrker. Gebe euch diesen Tipp da ich selber erst beim vierten Versuch die richtige Anschluss-Lsung gefunden habe 😉
Rezessionen schreiben ist eigentlich nicht mein Ding aber hier mach ich mal eine Ausnahme. Diesen Power Zwerg kann ich nur empfehlen. Preis-Leistung absolut top. Habe ihn aus folgendem Grund gekauft: Der Phono Eingang an meinem Kenwood Verstrker hat dafr gesorgt dass ich die Lautstrke aus meiner Sicht zu sehr anheben musste was auch dazu fhrte dass ein Rauschen unvermeidbar wurde. Durch die vielen positiven Rezessionen habe ich mich dazu entschieden diesen fosi zu kaufen. Das Rhren Upgrade ebenfalls. Die Probleme sind nun behoben, der Klang ist wirklich gut. Die im Lieferumfang befindlichen Rhren kann ich nicht wirklich empfehlen, die Upgrade Rhren hingegen schon. Alles bestens.

Stufe der Lautstrkeregelung genauso wie vorher und auch klangmig ist keine Verschlechterung zu vorher zu hren und da bin ich wirklich empfindlich. Die original Rhren habe auch ich nicht getestet sondern gleich das Upgrade verwendet. Preis Leistung ist top. Wsste nicht warum man ein teureres Gert kaufen soll.

Habe mir zum Vergleich 3 verschiedene Phono Preamps bestellt (Project Phono Box E, Fosi Audio X2, Art DJpre II). Alle im gleichen Preissegment (ca. 60 Euro). Der Sound der Phono Box E war dabei mit Abstand der schlechteste. Die Hhen waren dumpf und der ganze Sound sehr leblos und matt (habe im Vergleich Dire Straits als Platte und CD gehabt und (leider) hat die CD gewonnen…). Die beiden anderen erwhnten Phono Preamps haben sich hier wesentlich besser geschlagen, sogar der gnstigere Art DJpre II. Mein Favorit ist der Fosi Audio X2. Er klingt offen, detailliert und klar (und damit schlgt sich die LP auch wieder besser als die CD).

Il suono fluisce pulito e cristallino in tutti e tre i livelli di potenza. Prossimo step, sostituire le valvole originali con altre di maggior qualit per aumentare ulteriormente la qualit di un dispositivo economico ma efficiente.
Preis Leistungs Verhltnis sehr gut. Bisher mit den Original Rhren schon ein besseres Ergebnis als mit der bisherigen Beringer oder dem Originalen Eingang meines Pioneer Avr. Next step andere Rhren. Bessere Abbildung und Dynamik. Hbsch anzusehen, einzig der goldene Ring um die Rhren und die blaue LED sind nicht meins. Klare Empfehlung!

Klebt die blaue LED am Netzteil zu bevor ihr die hinter einen Schrank werft, die macht blind. Wurde wohl als Flak Scheinwerfer konzipiert…
For the price point this thing is fantastic. To be fair I didn’t use the tubes that came with it, yet, but it is good. If you are just getting into this hobby/passion/money pit, this is a great buy, for the price. Obviously you could do better, but probably not for less than $500! Would have given it 4.5 if possible, I don’t give out 5’s very often. (EDIT) For those with noise problems with this, i also have some noise, but for me it is my turntable cartridge, when the headshell is removed, it is dead silent. Again i used upgraded tubes.
Hab mir eigentlich nicht so viel erwartet. Angeschlossen an meinen Project EVO. Hier kann meine alte Phono Box nicht mithalten. Viel mehr Rume und Einzelheiten. Die Einstellungsmglichkeit von 39 auf 42 und 45 dB ist genial. Habe gleich die Set Up Rhren eingesetzt, also kann ich zu den original mitgelieferten nichts sagen. Sieht toll aus und klingt sehr gut!

Also ich hab mir ja schon ein bisschen Klangsteigerung erhofft , aber der Zwerg hat meine Erwartungen bei weitem bertroffen … ich denke mein Setup ist nicht schlecht und da noch soviel raus zu holen ist unglaublich … ich hab natrlich auch das Rhren Upgrade auf die GE gemacht,wie einige Vorredner empfahlen …. Bombe echt !!! Die LED am Ladegert abgedunkelt und gut ist ….

I seriously cannot believe how well this preamp turned out for my turntable, especially for the low cost compared to many high end preamps. This preamp really brings out the warmth and oomph that the record deserves. Everything is rich, full and just organically real sounding and not too artificially digital at all. The three different gains are perfect. I tend to use the highest for classical. It’s very compact and doesn’t take up too much space. The subtle blue lights adds to the ambience of your turntable setup. Highly recommended.
Really nice looking phono stage amp. Adjustable gain, a ground terminal and two little valves that light up. Very happy with this product.

Bought this to replace a very large and VERY heavy old stereo unit that I used to drive speakers for my turntable. I really like it! It has a smooth and even sound quality and is very easy to use.
The included tubes warmed up quickly and I like that it has multiple gain settings to boost to the right amount, though I would honestly have preferred a smooth turning dial.
I am not a fan of the inputs/outputs. It has one 3.5mm jack on the front that is Input only, a red/white input on the back and a red white output. I had to jerry rig some spare cables together to connect my turntable as it only has one output in the form of red/white cables and the speakers I have only have input as red/white cables. So that is a bit of a design oversight but not a major one.
Other than that, the design is very sleek and simple and it’s pretty idiot-proof. I am a fan of this purchase.
So far it has been very good and I will update later if there are issues with it.

Got the delivery… Packaged like it was an Apple product. Metal. Nice & Heavy. Feels rock solid. Looks great. Nothing cheap about it. Did the hookup and up powered the blue lighted tubes. Beautiful, just like the old day tube stuff. Moment of truth blew me away.
Rich sound, good highs and wider lows. I have won back my record collection. This is one of the best purchases I have made on Amazon in years. I upgraded the Tubes and noticed even more an improvement! Rock lives again and my wife hates me.
Well I had my doubts but have to admit that this Fosi tube amp really improved the sound on my AT-LP120 turntable. The only problem I have had is getting the upgraded tubes to go in. They didn’t go in all of the way but amp is working fine. I’ve only played with it for one day but first impression is awesome!
This jewel of a turntable preamp arrived today. Wow. Nicely boxed and so very easy to setup. Now for the really bigger Wow. A wonderful improvement over my Denon turntables built-in preamplifier. Very smooth and very clean. The clarity is so sweet. I have already recommended it to several friends. I am even having fun researching other tubes to try and looking forward to this as I have already purchased a matched pair of 5654/6AK5W CEI-Matched Pair -Blue Glass -NOS-NIB. Very, very happy I found this product—quite the find for quite a sweet price.
I had decided to dust off my 30 year old turntable and break out the vinyl only to find that my Yamaha Receiver didn’t have a phono port. It seems to have a thousand other ports, but not a port for my unamplified, 30-year-old turntable. The Pre-amp was a snap to set up and works great. Crystal clear and loud, even at the lowest setting. Now I just have to find a new belt for the turntable. Seems a bit stretched out, but can’t expect miracles after 30 years.

Dieses Teil macht durch die beiden Rhren natrlich mehr her als so ein schlichtes Blechkstchen. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass es so etwas zu einem derart gnstigen Preis berhaupt gibt. Der Klang ist super, kein Brummen o. . vernehmbar, wenn man nicht extrem laut aufdreht. Und wenn, kommt das Brummen auch vom Plattenspieler.
Ich habe mir jetzt noch das Rhren-Upgrade bestellt, vielleicht ist das auch eine Einstiegsdroge in die Rhren-Technik. Bin mal gespannt, ob ein Unterschied zu den mitgelieferten Rhren hrbar wird.
So, it works very well out the box but alot better once the j2 valves it comes with are upgraded to the jan5654w type, much warmer sound. Well worth the money as is the upgrade. Id of preferred orange led’s as opposed to the blue ones but that’s a tiny nitpick.
Ottimo prodotto, il suono che ne esce decisamente migliore del pre phono integrato nel mio Marantz pm7200. Buona anche l’altro input sul frontale. Non do 5 stelle semplicemente perch avrei preferito che si potesse switchare tra i due ingressi con un semplicissimo interruttore. In ogni caso un prodotto raccomandabile.
This is a great lill tube hybrid phono preamp. Much better than my $200 NAD simply because of the gain controls. The sound does compliment the already warm Marantz. I gave it 4 stars because I’m only on day 3 of owning this product. I plan on hooking it up to other stores though out my collection of recievers too really test it out. If it really makes a difference I’ll definitely buy a 2nd. From the YouTube reviews it’s seams to be built quite well with really good capacitors and processing chip. For those of you with a bad phono output and you want to save a buck on repairs… I definitely recommend it. If you’re looking for a bit more warmth… this preamp does that very well too. Sorry folks.. I haven’t tried the front input for mp3 playback yet. Been enjoying my lps.

Der Klang ist super im Vergleich zur eingebauten Phonostufe meines Harmann Kardon Stereoreceivers HK3380. Ich muss den
Lautstrkeregler meines Receivers auch nicht mehr soweit aufdrehen wie frher. Bass, Mitten und Hhen kommen gut rber.
Fast” wie bei einer CD. Gut sind auch die Verstrkungseinstellungen von 39dB, 42dB und 45dB sowie die Fronteingangsbuchse fr
externe Abspielgerte. Die blaue LED im Netzteil knnte allerdings etwas dezenter leuchten.
Mein Plattenspieler Technics SL 1710 war etwas zu leise. Zwar ist der Vorverstrker von Advance Acoustic XPreamp 500 mit einem Phono Eingang ausgestattet, aber die Einstellbarkeit des FOSI mit dem Rhrenupgrade klingt einfach besser. Ist ja nun kein groes Geld, aber man bekommt ein tolles Gert dafr und freut sich ber den tollen Klang der Vinylscheiben …
I have had this amp for a few weeks now, and I have been absolutely impressed by the warm and deep tones this tube amp can provide. This box fully assembled really shines on its own (pun intended), however to get the full experience from this, I would HIGHLY recommend buying a separate and qualified tube replacement. The Tubes that came with the amp came cloudy and sounded great, but after just replacing them I am confident this amp will last much longer. I have a Amp without a phono input, so this fit right into my audio chain from the turntable I have. I was nervous going cheaper on this, but it has definitely paid off. For the price, FOSI, please look into sourcing better tubes from a known distributer with QC! 4 stars due to the fact you will likely have to invest in a better tube set. The replacement tube I purchased was 6J1 compatible, if that helps anyone, from Riverstone Audio.

Ich betreibe ihn ebenfalls mit den Austausch-Rhren und habe ihn an meinen National-Panasonic SA-420 Receiver (von 1968) angeschlossen. Der spielt normalerweise etwas zurckhaltend, entspannt im Hintergrund”. Der Fosi-Vorverstrker sorgt fr mehr Differenzierung im Ton, unten rum” mehr Druck und drngelt den Panasonic nach vorne.
Klasse! (Vor allem, wenn man den Preis bedenkt…)

What’s not there to like it’s just great True tube amp after doing research for a month on all other tube amplifiers I picked the Fosi Audio I’m extremely happy that I picked this one works just great real true natural highs and lows beautiful acoustics sound I would recommend to anyone a must have system
I’m using this with my Uturn Orbit running a Grado Black/Green cartridge through both an older Onkyo receiver and a cheapo Nobsound amp. Sound is much noticeably better than the built in phono pre-amp of my Onkyo. I have tried another supposedly nicer pre-amp that I returned because there was no improvement but this one is a keeper. Thae adjustable gain also is nice. I suffer from “grado hum” that is less with this set-up – probably because it lets me get the amp further from my turntable. No noticeable noise from the Fosi though. Really happy with this purchase – great sound straight out of the box using the stock tubes.
Habe vorher einige PreAmps getestet, um meinen alten TD-2001 Plattenspieler wieder anzuschlieen. War alles nix. Doch diese Kombination funktioniert hervorragend. Bin begeistert.

This little unit gets fantastic sound, and I’m amazed at what it produces for the price. I love the sound I’m now getting from my Technics turntable, and the aux input is perfect for playing music from my phone, tablet, or laptop. Not only does this unit produce the volume levels I need with enhanced, warm sound, but it also solves my distance dilemma, as my turntable has short, built in RCA cables but I need to run cables 30 feet from its location to my stereo. I do advise that you turn on the unit to the desired output level before you change your stereo to the channel where the amp is connected; otherwise, your speakers will pop when you turn on the amp. I love the sound it has right out of the gate, and I’m looking forward to what enhancements I’ll hear when I replace the vacuum tubes.
When you get your Fosi Audio Phono Preamp, it will come in a box with the tubes not installed. To install just align the pins with the holes in the socket, and press gently on top with one finger. It will slide right in. Then you connect your turntable to the “in” side (the end of the ground lead needs to be stripped wire, not the fork-style connector that was on my turntable, so you’ll need to cut that off if you have one), any line-level input on your receiver to the “out” side, and connect the AC adapter. Then you’re ready to listen to some records.
I have been using this preamplifier on a daily basis for about six weeks. So far, I can say I am very satisfied with this sound quality of this preamplifier–the treble, mid-range, and base are all good. I use it between my turntable and my home theater (Harman Kardon AVR 7200.) The build quality of the case is good. The front panel has a switch for on/off and gain control and input for auxiliary input for CD, etc. At the back, there are one pair of inputs for phono and one pair output to mail amplifier. If the auxiliary input is plugged in, the MM input will have no signal input. It is better to have a switch for auxiliary and MM.
Great Phono Pre-Amp for the money. Previously used a Pyle PP444 which had a distinctive hum.
This is a sharp retro looking unit that doesn’t command a whole lot of space.
I immediately did an A/B test to see if the tubes actually added the warm full tone that one would expect. I was able to split the signal out of my CD changer and go into the mini aux input on the front of the unit. This auto senses so the phono input won’t play simultaneously. There was a discernable difference, one that I can only describe as a fuller sound stage.
I also ordered some GE 5654W tubes from Riverstone Audio, both as an upgrade and to have some fun comparing to the OEM.
So far, so good.
Update: I did receive the upgrade tubes and yes, they do improve the sound. Smoother and more spacious. Worth the money. My set came direct from Fosi but there are other suppliers. Search for “matched GE JAN 5654W tubes.”
