I used these with baby Buddha and they worked great. They are noticeable but concealed so you can get by with video calls etc just fine. Truly make pumping hands free and like the easy pour spout. The only thing is they didn’t hold up past 3/4 months. I noticed they were not quite as tightly sealed as in the beginning and the inner flexible barrier got a tearsince it’s $25 to replace those I just bought entirely new set directly on website for $69. Now I realize the recommend life span is 60 days so possible you’ll need more than one set depending how long you pump and how often. Would recommend overall.
I wish I would have gotten them sooner! I used them with the Babybudda and it was a total game changer. It made pumping at work, the car, with guests over, much easier because I could be discrete and not have to pull myself away from what was going on to pump. Suction was great with the babybudda. Suction can be lost if the inside pieces are not in right. Otherwise, I have zero complaints. I thought it was a great cheaper alternative to the willow or elvie pumps but only if you are okay with having tubes dangling. I tell all new moms about this system! Loved them and I can say enough great things about them and how they improved my breastfeeding/ pumping journey.
Great milk collection cups. I use it with the spectra allowing me to be completely hands free and able to walk around, wash the dishes and even cook.
My only gripe would be the pouring spout and the shape of the base. Very easy to spill milk. Would be better if there was removable bung to stop the milk pouring ou
Cons- Weird shape under clothes, need something bulky on top like an apron or heavy cardigan to hide funky clunky shape. Also, doesn’t suction obviously as much as a hospital grade so sometimes I get clogged ducts from not being able to empty completely.
Pros!!- Wearable! Completely! Comfortable! Compatible with Spectra S9 travel pump (must use freemie tubing), holds more oz than the Willow or Elvie!, lightweight, discreet, easier pour spout (no mess or Spills at all!) Pumps no matter what! Doesn’t need a good suction to still turn on. Perfect for work or traveling.
It’s a little fiddly to assemble and disassemble for cleaning. At first I wasn’t seeing great output especially from one side. Purchased inserts that are my proper size and now I get about the same amount that I get from my spectra. I use this with the Momcozy portable pump for a much cheaper way of pumping on the go than the $500 options out there. I will use to pump when I go back to work, as will be very important for my work to step away for just a few minute to put the cups on and return to work while pumping rather than trying to take several 20 min breaks throughout the day.
LOVE these. I get the same amount of milk out as I did with my other flanges. I love that I’m hands free and it works with my mobile pump. Just make sure it clicks when you put it back together.
My insurance gave me an Ameda Mya Joy and I bought this to make my pump discrete as well as portable… I love it!!! I have a job that I can’t take time to pump and this has completely changed my pumping experience! I don’t dread having to pump and I don’t have to stop what I’m doing while pumping. I’m a DD cup so it does stick out an odd bit when wearing, but you can get away with it unnoticed if you wear a baggy dark shirt. I love that it has a pour spout and it’s easy to clean.
Love these!! I do so much driving for work and these are SO convenient to use while driving. I use them with my Spectra pump. I love that they slip into my bra and that the bra helps them stay tight. The suction is great and better than any thing else I’ve used with my pump. I highly recommend these.
I love this product. It’s so much easier to work at my computer with these as compared to traditional bottles. I wish I bought them soone
Saved my milk supply and my sanity!!!! I have three kids other than my newborn. and being stuck to the wall was seriously messing with my mental health, supply, and quality time with my kids. Not forgetting to mention that it was so hard to get stuff done around the house!!!! The suction is great, (I use with the AmedaMya pump) and it’s so easy to use. I just went back to work. I work as a cook at the restaurant so I’m not able to leave every two hours for thirty minutes at a time and this fixed everything!! I can feel when the pump is getting full when I walk and I squat to make sure I don’t leak. I have also figured out how to nap while I pump late night!!! I also no longer dread power pumping. Seriously, you need this if your a busy mom. I am a 36c for reference. I’ve seen bigger chested mom have trouble with it.
First, I use the cups with the Ameda Mya Joy portable pump and it works without any issues. That was a relief since it is not listed as one of the tested pumps. But it works. I can walk around the house, plug it into the power outlet in the car, etc.
The fit…no, it does not look completely natural. You’re putting plastic cups in your bra. Let’s be realistic. The instructions even advise you to wear a loose shirt or a scarf if you want to better conceal what you’re doing. However, you’re walking around with a pump…the motor is pretty audible. It’s no secret what you’re doing. So, why is everyone concerned that it looks like there is something in your bra? I walk my dog, push the stroller, and talk to me neighbors while I’m pumping. No one seems upset.
It is not as easy to see if your nipples are completely centered in the flange. I can line them up pretty well when I put the cup on. I haven’t had any issues. You are able to see if the pump is suctioning and pulling the nipple in. It’s just not as clear as a traditional pump. I’m a D cup and don’t have any issues with my breast tissue suffocating the pump as some reviewers mentioned.
No, you can’t bend over because there is a drain whole on the top. This is in the instructions and I think also common sense. I just make a point to squat down. Hey, it’s better posture anyway.
The bra fit is key. Also in the instructions. You do need to have a decently snug bra because you’re relying on the bra to hold the cups against your chest. I wear a very basic cotton nursing bralette from Motherhood Maternity. It worked out the first time and I haven’t had any issues with the fit or keeping the cups in place.
Lastly, I haven’t noticed a decline in output with this system. I pump just as much as when I use my regular flanges. It is true that you can’t really judge output while you’re pumping. There are markers on the cups but you can’t really read them while you’re pumping. I just kinda look in there to make sure it’s collecting something.
This is a game changer. It gives you a lot of freedom while pumping. Yes, you may look like you’re wearing Madonna’s bra circa the 1990s but it does exactly what you need it to so, I can live with that.
These make life so much easier. I was looking for a hands-free pump but love the results I get with my spectra so I bought these collection cups to try. They are AMAZING! I get the same output as with my traditional flanges and working in a school, I wanted some sort of privacy while pumping in my office. I can multitasking and get work done while pumping which is a game changer. They come apart easily and are quick to clean. They are comfortable to wear inside a bra even though they are all rigid plastic. Highly recommend!
Me encantaron!
I am not exaggerating when I say these changed my life. We chose to exclusively pump after my daughter wouldn’t latch in the hospital. I have been pumping from almost day 1 with her. Because we weren’t expecting to pump until 3 weeks in all I had were the flanges that came with my Motif Luna (love that pump too btw). The carpal tunnel from pregnancy is still hanging around so my hands would go numb holding the flanges. I tried a hands free pumping bra but inevitably leaked everywhere. These Freemie cups changed all that. I can pump and bottle feed my daughter at the same time. I can pump when family comes by to help out. No more hiding in the bedroom. The instructions for the Freemie cups are intimidating but I haven’t had any leaks or spills. If you are on the fence, debate no more. Get these cups. (Hint: I wear a nursing tank and put a sports bra style nursing bra over that to keep the right amount of pressure while pumping. )
I love these. My only issue is that I have larger breasts, so they definitely are not discrete under clothes. And you’ll need to have bras than can fit them. Luckily I wear sports bras and pumping bras, so I’m able to fit them in comfortably.
But I love how easy they are to assemble, how they are compatible with so many different pumps. Even ones that aren’t listed on the back of the box. I use mine with my Ameda Mya pump. I even realized I had been using the wrong flange size previously before getting my freemies. I was using the standard 24 mm flanges that came with my breast pumps. And it’s always been a little uncomfortable pumping with those, but I forced myself to get used to it and chalked it up to just having to get used to it. But the freemies come with 25 mm and 28 mm. I use the 28 mm and they are so much more comfortable. No pain at all. The freemies allow me to be more hands free, but also I can pick my baby up and hold him now. I couldn’t do that pumping with regular flanges and cups.
They are easy to clean and easy to pour milk out of into storage.
I am impressed!!! Very very comfortable, convenient and easy to use!!! I bought the baby Buddha pump and the two together are amazing! Highly recommend
Only con- lots of parts to clea
I’m pumping full time for 2 babies, 5 times a day and I average 60 oz a day. These cups have been a sanity saver.
Freemie cups have been great for when I need to pump but don’t want to get my top half completely changed to do so. Slip inside the bra you’re already wearing. I’ve pumped in the car and out and about with these, really discrete – make sure you take bottles/bags to transfer your milk into though! Only reason for 4 stars is that they are quite fragile, accidentally dropped one from not much height and it cracked, no way to replace just one section of the cup so then had to buy a whole new set which was frustrating. Neither the Amazon seller nor Freemie themselves could get that one replacement part for me!
Absolutely love these! I use them with my baby Buddha pump and it’s so freeing! I’m able to do everything I need to with my toddler and baby while still being able to pump. 10/10 recommend
As suggested in other reviews I’m using it with a bumbag, so I can walk around with it.
I’m using my Freemie with a Bellababy Dual pump. Attached the freemie tubing to the cup, connect the freemie tubing to the Bellababy tubing, and Bellababy tubing to the Bellababy pump.
This give a lot of long tubing. After getting used to the system, I cut one (of the three tubes provided) down into two pieces (if you cut the one tube wrong you’ve still got two functioning tubes).
My biggest issue with the freemie is sterilising. The manual says do not steam or microwave streilise. The manual says to ‘boil at first use for ten minutes’, and to not let items sit at the bottom of the saucepan. If you don’t have a extra large casserole pot from a handy Greek MIL then you may have to do this in three turns (I.e.30mins). So clearly not viable after even pump.
When I boiled the freemie a white residue was left of the plastic, after a bit of googling, I think this was limescale as we are in a particularly hard water area. I didn’t want to feed the babies limescale, so washed off the residue and re-boiled a couple of times – a bit of a palaver.
I’m a bit uncomfortable not sterilising each use, I’m rinsing in a kettle full of boiling water each time.
Overall, I’m grateful for the freedom and I would recommend the freemie.
Trotzdem Kaufempfehlung!
Great to be hands free at a fraction of the cos
If you hate pumping or just want more freedom, try the freemies!
I love my hands free suction cups for breastfeeding. Is able to move around and pump. The only down side is you can’t bend over while pumping milk will spill. Overall it is a really great pump.
I’m really pleased with these. I’m using them with my Bellababy and a bumbag which has allowed me to be hands free. They arrived promptly also.
I use the cups with my spectra s2. It is a bit annoying having to carry the spectra around as I’m pumping but it’s fantastic still getting the features of a spectra whilst walking around, putting the washing out, changing and feeding the baby. The ease now! It’s cut half my time during a night feed as I’m now expressing whilst I feed her. It’s not that hard to get the suction to work I find! No complaints. I was a bit unsure getting this and for those mamas reading this and you also feel unsure – I would 1000% recommend!!
Great product to let me multi task but cleaning all the parts take awhile as it says have to be fully dry too, also can’t sterilise in the microwave, so had to get a cold water system to sterilise them. But definitely would recommend.
These are amazing! Can pump away with my mosfiata pump but have my hands free to look after and feed my child – without her knocking it off. So much cheaper than getting other hands free pumps that are out there!
These have given me my freedom back. Paired with the BellaBaby portable pump I can continue to discreetly pump Without being tied down by cables or bulky machines. The cost of these and the BellaBaby pump comes to about 100, which is less than 1/4 of the price of the Elvie! It’s a no brainer!!
I like these alot. They are awesome when I’m on the go. Make sure you have the right flange size though they have inserts for sizing needs, and replace duck Bill’s often. .They are over priced in my opinion just to be discreet. But they do work and it’s nice not having a bottle hanging off of you.
– They are easy to use and comfortable.
– I do not have to put on some kind of insane medieval corset to pump for five minutes after a feed, with an industrial milking apparatus impeding my view and ability to use my hands.
– I get more milk than with the spectra flanges.
They didn’t work for my neighbor, so as in all things baby-related, ymmv. But the upside is significant if they work for you.
They do look a bit odd when you are using them so if you’re self conscious and wanted to use them out and about just be aware of that but most people won’t be able to tell tell just what you’re doing. A large jumper or cardigan easily disguises this.
It’s fairly easy to pour the milk out.
It’s very easy to unassemble and wash.
You must boil the parts specified in the instructions before first use or it won’t fit together properly. This also means that it’s not really suitable for steam sterilization or microwave sterilization.
You get two flange sizes if I recall correctly 28mm and 25mm.
With pumping I’d usually recommend measuring your nipples and using the correct flange size.
I use the 25mm and it’s a little big which is probably why I get slightly less then using my correctly fitting flanges however the portability absolutely outweighs this for me and I can easily hand express at the end of the pumping session.
I’ve also found because the parts fit together so neatly it’s easier to take with me.
Another point I’d like to mention is that you don’t need a special type of bra for pumping whilst using these, you can use a sports bra or your nursing bra.
It is hard to see how the pump sits on your nipple but it doesn’t take long to getting used to feeling for them to be in the right position.
One final note is do not lean forwards whilst they are on or your milk may spill.
I had the open system but so glad I got this to go with the Buddha less cords works great and think the suction is better!
I love how easy it is but mine came broken.
My wife loves it. It doesn’t come in the way as it’s compact and hidde
My baby was unable to latch, and this plus other issues mean that we are currently expressing exclusively for feeds. As a result I need to express 8 to 10 times a day and good amounts so I’m very reliant on good equipment!
I’m using a spectra s1 pump but came across the freemie cups when researching pumping bras, none of which looked right for me. These are fantastic!
They work. I have managed to bottle feed my baby whilst pumping, eat dinner… I’ve even managed to pump on the train to clapham junction!
I havent noticed any drop in production… can still get up to 300ml using these.
Although not invisible they are still more discreet than traditional flange/bottle… pull a jumper or muslin over them and you are decent. Pumped in a restaurant, on a train and in front of my in laws!
Easy to take apart and clean
You do need to be wearing a proper bra… my soft sleep bra wont do the trick but my former nursing bras do fine.
You cant see what’s being pumped well through the plastic. I used these holding them to begin with so that I could time how long I needed to be in let down mode before changing to expression mode and also how long it took me to empty both breasts… after this I could just stick to these rough timings each time without having to check.
I needed higher settings than I do with my bottles and flanges but that’s easy to do.
Summary: I love them. I still use the flanges regularly at home but this has freed me to do other things or leave the house for more than 2 hours without worrying about maintaining supply. As with all things theres a knack to then but i didnt find it hard to get the hang of and think they were worth every penny
Love love love this system! I use the Bella baby portable pump.
Best investment since I gave birth to my 2nd child.
