Got this for my daughter for chirstmas can’t wait for her to get i
I’m very pleased with my order. Arrived on time, well packaged, and is high quality.
Given as a birthday present for an 8year old. Package arrived safely, undamaged. Would recommend this for arty crafty childre
I bought this for my 7 year old niece and she loved it. As soon as she opened the gift she wanted to start making the flowers which was really lovely to see. Good value and really pleased with this purchase.
As others have said, this is a brilliant idea, very badly executed.
There are too many flowers (or too few lights (we bought a second string of lights to use the flowers); every sheet has one outer petal ring, three middle petal rings, and one inner trumpet, making 40 redundant middle petal rings in total; only the middle petal rings are white for colouring in; the wider-petalled middle rings slot together nearly as flat as the outer rings although the daisy-petalled ones come nicely in between the flattish outers and inner trumpets; the stickers are not strong enough; the middle trumpets are very fiddly to assemble tightly enough to not slide back over the lights.
But it can all be done and they do look great and are very satisfying.
1) Colour in an equal number of each size of petal ring. We added a few patterns of lines or spots on the inner and outer rings although they are already solid colour so colours don’t come out true. We also used crayon, which I think looks better for child-work than the felt pens.
2) Forget the stickers and use pva glue. Assemble and glue, both sides of the tab, all your outer and middle petal rings. You only need to hold each one for half a minutes before you can put it down to dry. For the wider-petalled middle rings I cut off the tabs and glued the end petals over each other so they didn’t come too flat.
3) For each light in turn:
a) hold the two cables together running back from the light;
b) slide over the light a leaf, an outer petal ring and a middle petal ring;
c) slot an inner trumpet together around the light and glue it, both sides of the tab, making sure that the circle in the middle is too small to slide over the light. This was very fiddly. Small fingers might find it easier if your child is older primary – we kept the 4 year-old well away from the assembly process since we knew it would be too awkward to be any fun for her.
d) for added security we rolled up a short length of sticky tape, sticky side out, and wrapped it around the light inside the trumpet. Also fiddly. Probably not really necessary.
e) gently separate the two wires to run straight across behind the light, so the flower can’t slide back.
We did the whole thing in three batches across a few months since she got bored colouring after seven or eight flowers. We haven’t yet worked out a use for the extra middle petals.
We do love it. And I would recommend it because the end result is so satisfying. But someone please produce a better version of the same thing.
Bought this for great niece 7th birthday. She had great fun making it and putting in her bedroom
Bought as a gift, looks great and as described once assembled.
Great fun, good value for money!
Bought as part of birthday gift for gr.dtr who just loves making things. Really simple for her (aged 8) to do with minimal help.
Great fun for the kids to make something. Especially for their bedroom to help with the dark evenings
My granddaughter has made a lovely string of lights from the kit.
I got it for my niece Christmas, and she sent me a photo with the lights around her.
First time I bought this product very good for money granddaughter thinks it’s great and asked for more like this one enjoys it very much
Have bought it for my granddaughter as a Christmas present, so have not put them together.
i bought this for my cousin to do and then have in her room. she really enjoyed putting them together and has them on her wall in her bedroom.
We bought this product, and it was amazing! My little girl who is 5 absolutely LOVED it! Really engaging, really entertaining, and she has more lights shades of flowers, if mum can get more fairy lights!
Perfect gift for a wee girl. Good value for money and good quality.
These are a gift but look easy enough and will make a great addition to my nieces bedroom
Encourages imagination to develop
Came very timely and in good conditio
I bought this for my grand-daughter who is 10, she really likes it, was easy for her to put together, the flowers look beautiful all lit up, very happy with this purchase, going to order them again for her 7 year old sister, I have all ready placed an order for my 13 year old Grand-daughter as they are lovely for any girls bedroom
Have no issue at all. Very pretty when coloured and put together.
Can be a little fiddly in the middle.
I used a little glue to help secure the leaf in place.
Over all very good.
Bit baffled on why they gave so many pre cut out flowers as there is only 10 led bulbs, shame more led bulbs can not be brought or maybe they could put two sets in the box.
Will purchase this item again at some point.
We made these together on new years eve. They were lots of fun to colour and make, can be a little fiddley at times! Recommend.
I bought these as a gift for a 6 year old girl who was delighted with them. Straightforward instructions.
Box was a bit smaller than was expected. It was a fair price. Can’t comment on the actual product yet as it was bought as a Christmas gift.
I gave this as a gift to a ten year girl and she loves them
This was a birthday present for my lovely granddaughter. She is absolutely delighted and spent a long time colouring cutting etc. Many thanks
This is a lovely product. not only is it a crafting activity but you genuinely have something wonderful to keep once you have made it. My neice absolutely loved making the flower lights and now hangs them proudly in her bedroom. Great quality (as Galt products tend to be) and great value for money
A nice present for girls. Fun to make and look so pretty in bedroom
This one was a birthday present for the youngest’s school friend (he gets upset if you call her his girlfriend).
She loved it. She loved getting it, she loved making them and she loves them in her room.
I think they look fab.
My daughter loved making these. If you or your child loves fairy lights and making things then these are the lights for you.
My seven year old made these and decorated her room with them. It took her an afternoon of fun and she has had a lot of pleasure using them since then. It is a lovely item for any child who likes arts and crafts. What is really nice is that unlike a lot of things kids make – these really do have a use afterwards.
Would recommend.
This is a really nice arts and crafts set for children, particularly because they will enjoy using the lights they create afterwards. The kit comes with a short string of lights and various materials to create flowers to stick on top. It’s a lovely project to work on with your child
It is nice to see a new craft idea from Galt – with 3 daughters, we are always looking for new ideas!
This is easily achievable by a 7-8 year old, with minimal adult supervision. The lights themselves are battery powered LEDs, which don’t get hot and are easy to put up as they don’t require a plug socket.
It’s nice to have a craft activity that can be properly used afterwards – my daughter particularly liked having her creation in her bedroom on display.
Great idea – perfect for 7-8 yr olds.
My niece loves this!
Great for inventive young minds, enough to inspire their creative minds, Instant hit with her and her parents who said she was so quiet that they almost forgot she was there!
And she was so pleased with the end result!
Well done, Galt! This is a really lovely craft set, especially as it is very “On Trend” for girls to have strings of lights in their rooms. My 2 granddaughters, 11 and 9, had a lot of fun with this on a recent visit and it occupied them for most of a cold and rainy afternoon.
The box contains 20 sheets of pre-cut flowers in many different shapes, and 2 sheets of pre-cut leaves. The flowers and leaves can be coloured in using the provided mini fibre pens. There are 6 different colours and the pens are good quality so the finished flowers are bright and colourful.
You then layer leaves and then flowers around each of the 10 LED lights–don’t forget to include a foil circle as you build up the layers as the foil will reflect the lights better. The instructions are clear, the battery pack and 2 AA batteries are included, and the lights, being LED are low voltage, cool and safe.
The finished article is beautiful and functional and well worth the money. Highly recommended!
A great little original art project for kids, this set comes with 20 LED lights and a set of paper cutouts in the shape of petals.
The idea is simple; colour in the petals and put them in any order around the LED lights, creating a string of LED flowers that you can then hang up and decorate a room with.
My 11 and 13 year olds enjoyed making this and it should be suitable for 7+ with a little adult help for younger children to punch out the petals and add them to the lights. It doesn’t come with batteries, so these need to be provided before the lights can be used.
My 8 year old really enjoyed this set. She was able to decorate a string of LED lights with various flower designs. The set is battery powered and the lights are LEDs so they don’t get hot.
My daughter now has her creation hung across her room.
This is a cute flowery, battery powered (two AA batteries included), LED string light set.
Flower shapes are included on various coloured paper to fit onto the lights,along with half a dozen felt-tip pens for decorating them. It makes a lovely present, likely to be well appreciated particularly by primary-aged girls.
My Daughter loves anything creative and this set is perfect as there is so much to do from colouring some of the flower parts to actually putting the pieces together to make the full flower light.
The set is really good value as it comes with a decent amount of pieces to choose from and use and even comes with 2 AA batteries so that you can use the set straight away.
The recommended age is 7 years and above however my Daughter is younger than this and has really enjoyed making this with my help.
The set has LED lights which are battery operated and as they are LED lights it means they are safe for younger hands. My Daughter has loved making this set and I intend to buy at least one more set to decorate her room with – a really nice, fun and creative gift that looks lovely when finished.
Lovely gift idea from Galt, and as always from this range, of a good quality. My 7 year old was able to crack on with this unaided apart from the actual construction, where a little bit of help was needed. Nice idea that there is a practical and useful element to a craft kit, these have become a firm favourite.
I personally love giving children presents with an arts and crafts theme and this ‘Galt Toys Flower Lights’ is a fantastic and useful craft set for children. This set creates a beautiful string of lights that can be used in a child’s bedroom.
This set consists of
* 20 x assorted sheets in various styles and colours of pre-cut paper flowers.
* 2 x sheets of pre-cut paper leaves.
* 1 x string of 10 LED lights
* Battery pack
* 2 x AA batteries
* 6 x mini fibre pens
* 100 x sticky circles
* Instruction guide.
Recommended age is between 7 and 10, although most young girls up to the age of twelve would love to make this string of lights for their bedroom.
My twelve year old daughter and I had a lot of fun colouring in the patterned flowers, then ‘layering’ the pre-cut paper leaves and flowers around an LED light. When we had finished we had created a stunning string of lights that my daughter couldn’t wait to place above her headboard.
All in all a brilliant craft set with quality pieces, easy to understand instructions and the usefulness of the finished project makes this a winner all round.
My daughter enjoyed making these flower lights, they were easy enough for her to make them by herself (she is 10). The flower pieces are pre-punched in the different papers, so you just need to push them out. A bit of colouring is needed, so you can personalise the flowers, and the gold paper is great as it is reflective and make the lights look much prettier.
What I love is that batteries are included – yay! Everything needed is inside the box, which is great.
A very good gift for birthday or Christmas, very pleased with it.
Just superb. My seven and ten year old daughter have been fighting over this such that I’ve bought a second set. At its simplest select some pre-cut paper flower / petal shapes including metallic gold, colour them in using the 6 pens (or use your own), work out the order they will be in, and pop them over the LEDs.
They really look very good. The batteries last forever (works happily on rechargeables) due to the low power consumption of the LEDs and there’s enough light to see by but not enough to prevent sleep. My youngest has hers wrapped around her headboard, the eldest has them arranged around a photo frame (and she’s coloured some of the LEDs in with felt pen (which works well).
I think this is a great present for my daughters’ age range; I think boys would enjoy this too.
Love his set we spent all evening colouring and making pretty flowers. Looks great in my daughters room. She really likes the fact that no one else’s will be exactly the same.
This set comes with all the pieces necessary to make a string of battery powered flower shaped lights. There are many petal shapes to push together around each light to form a few different designs of flowers. My six year old niece managed to make these with just a small amount of supervision and soon had something pretty to drape around her dressing table and enhance her collection of fairies.
I think this is one of the better value craft sets I’ve seen recently. It’s designed in such a way that it’s hard to go wrong, the quality is very good, the results are consequently great. Instead of a toy to display… the end result is actually useful and lasting. Great for children from about 6 onwards (might need a bit of help at the younger end). Current price represents very good value imho.
This kit is great -it’s creative and fun whilst being practically mess free and pretty well foolproof. The LED lights come with pre-cut flower shapes that can be put on them in different combinations. They are double sided so if you want you can mix it up and colour in one side or go for a pre-coloured petal. There are two gold reflective sheets in the set – these work well with the lights and add a special touch. In probably under and hour a child can make something that will have pride of place in their bedroom. Well received here and great value in my opinion – I’d recommend this for 7-10 year olds.
Great fun for the girls in your life, plus it makes for a soothing night light and brightens up the room. Easy to use and ideal for someone who is into arts and crafts and wants to build something and make it very personal to themselves. Easy to do and hours spent doing it. Christmas is coming so I’d recommend this for any neices, daughters or friends.
A wonderful idea for the young ones. With a little help from an adult the flowers should provide a colourful display. The low voltage
led’s add to the overal feel of the flower lights. No doubt that this will fill up some of the spare time that the young one has during the
Christmas period.
A great creative you which makes something that’s long lasting that a child loves too be a it for draping around the dresser or desk or decorating the back of the bed- the LED lighting means it’s a cool lit bulb system so has a variety of safe use-
