Brilliant little device for maps and cycling data. Battery life is incredible. Buttons are good once you get used to them. Syncs really well with the Connect app.
Only loses a star because it’s not good at re-routing if you are on a pre-planned route, it just tries to get you back to the previous point.

Works well as external gps for pre planned routes, can control indoor trainer and battery seems to last ages.

Only downside are the buttons, but once you have worked them out it isn’t a problem

This gadget is unbelievable . Still learning how to use it . In hindsight I think the touch screen one would have been better but if it’s set up before you set off then I can live with it .

The battery life of this little unit is amazing. Despite its small size and lightness (including mount), it’s really robust and still big enough to see the screen. I prefer the actual buttons (as opposed to a touch screen) and they’re very responsive. Set up pretty easy (using YouTube videos). Even better I got this on PrimeDay sale.

It’s still suffering from random ble sensor dropouts. Easier to see screen than that 520 plus, the battery is better and the WiFi is better than waiting for phone sync.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’d put off for some time buying a cycling GPS as I didn’t think I needed one as I’d always used an Apple Watch and I’m now writing this review after owning this for some time. In short it’s completely transformed my cycling and now I’m regularly riding longer distances exploring new routes rather that riding the same routes and distances which can become a chore. I’d easily recommend!

    Transformed my cycling

I had the edge 520 since it’s launch, but it was suffering from poor battery life. I didn’t think the 530 would be much better, but it’s much better. Battery life, features it is excellent. The maps are really good I particularly like the climb pro feature.

Getting the hang of how it is working with practice and I am super impressed with how clever this Garmin is
Wish I had made the change sooner but I’m glad I decided to buy on a Amazon offer which greatly reduced the price

I held off buying a Garmin gps because I have been using my smartphone with a Strava or Komoot app for cycle rides. However battery life became a problem so I took the leap. And I’m very pleased with the 530, this was a good decision.
The accuracy is excellent, battery life is great. The 530 isn’t touch screen, unlike the 800 Edge. But I’m not sure this is an issue.
It takes a while to set up but once I set up my data and parameters it works like a dream.
I bought a rubber cover in case it gets dropped which is a good investme

This has been so helpful to measure my progress. Just add a speed, cadence and heart rate monitor and will give you a lot of statistics and the routes and so on.
It is also working very well with my bontrager lights. It creates the lighting network and start / stop automatically them when my training start or ends.
    I love it!

Read a few reviews and for the 100 + saving over the 830 decided on the 530 and so far haven’t been dissappointed.
Really haven’t found the buttons an issue.
What I would say is I agree that browsing the map with the buttons is a bit painful, however I plotted a route via the garmin connect app on my phone quite easily and it synced with the 530 in seconds.
First ride out , followed the course I had plotted, the 530 swapped seamlessly between my stats, navigation and climbpro screens.
Navigation was very accurate with audible warning and countdown to turns.
Very impressed, only negative I can forsee so far is it’s capable of so much and there’s such a vast array of menu’s it may be difficult remembering where stuff is located.
However as with most electronic gadgets most people will only use 25% of the features regularly and will be more than happy .

A great piece of kit with lots of useful features for cycling. Great if you’re heading out somewhere new. It even warns of tight bends coming up. I used it for the first time on a cycling trip to Mallorca and I found it excellent, especially the hill climb feature which comes on automatically and gives you all the info you need about the climb. Recommended.

Excellent bike computer and GPS navigation, however the set up is not particularly user friendly and does take a few hours to configure everything. Works well once you have set it up, but be advised that route planning is only possible with a fully paid Strava or Komoot subscription with regular annual charges.

Be aware that a mount is included with this item. I bought an extra bike mount having not read the box contents in detail. I’ve been cycling for over two years without a Garmin, big mistake. This is a fantastic addition to my bike and has features such as intruder alarm so you can comfortably leave your bike while grabbing a coffee. Emergency alert for any falls or tumbles, contacting your dedicated contacts and sending coordinates. It’s simple to use and read, where saved maps give you an incentive to ride solo. It’s quick to switch between settings, giving ease of use for racing or time trials. Overall very happy with this Garmin.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am not one for reviews but I feel I have to review tis item. Just to summarize:
The Garmin device 530 edge is brilliant. I have used it 5 days a week since I bought it late April. It is easy to set up and works like a dream. The buttons are easy to use when you get the hang of it as we are so used to touchscreen. It is very accurate as I have HR monitor Polar H10 which works flawlessly. I use the Garmin cadence and shows up every time. The Bluetooth is picked up easily and even use my phone as a hotspot

I have used Komoot and Strava with this and again works as it should. It is small but I can easily see everything on it. It comes with the cycle mount and host of other accessories except a case.

My only gripe is that today it just would not turn on and I have lost 2 days of data as I did not sync it with my Garmin connect. I know of some people that said the same thing on internet forums. Amazon have been brilliant and ordered me a replacement asap. Such a shame this rather expensive device just decided it would not turn on today and only owned it for literally 3 weeks.

Regardless of the above this product is brilliant in size and what you can do on this and way cheaper than the elder 830. That has touchscreen and map navigation but I use my phone for that so not needed. Expect to pay around 170 when it is on a deal otherwise 200 -220.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am a huge Garmin fan and have had watches for years. This is my first Garmin bike GPS. Used it on a multi day tour with routes uploaded from Komoot. All worked well. Battery life is excellent. I recorded full days and never saw battery used more than 50% in a day. The one negative which Garmin should really address is that if you go off course to get a coffee or take a needed detour, the software tries to get you to make a U turn rather than calc-ing a sensible route back to your original route. I needed to self-navigate back to the point we left the route each time. Small point but I expect more from Garmin. All said, I would recommend this 530 and plan ahead for this one issue.

I’ve been using it for almost a year and I would say it’s the best one if you don’t want to spend a lot of money but you still want to have a better map development in your computer since the previous cycling computers their maps are not as good as this computer. Battery last long and really resistant, I dropped it several times and still no scratches.

Another nice gadget from Garmin. It can show the map, data about your cycling, in theory, it can even navigate you from A to B based on the built in map (far from the level of your phones google maps). The screen has to be on max brightness otherwise it’s too dark. It has no touch screen, only buttons. No memory card socket, so large maps can’t be downloaded for it. However, it can suggest cycling routes around you for your training. It can cooperate even with third party ANT+ sensor for heart rate, but you can’t use a Garmin watch built in VOX sensor for the same purpose (strange). Charging cable and two mounting methods are also supplied with it.

    Pros:
    Pequeo, bonito, preciso, buena batera.

Niot sure reading reviews of this product that I agree with the negativity. This is a nice bit of kit and it works very well. I even bought the cadence and speed sensor (not really needed as GPS will indicate speed). I have a Garmin heart sensor and that worked instantly. You just need to pair all the sensors up one by one. Fitted these within one minute each and work perfectly. It is important to note that the Edge does a lot of things to a lot of people so it is important to know what is important to you and making sure the front screen reports what you want to know. Just follow the videos on line as there are many. The real gem of this unit is the screen, cyrstal clear. Another tip is to memeroise what the four buttons do two on either side apart from the power button. The left is to scrooll up or down the memories and on the rigt the top is for accepting your choice and the one on the bottom is to go back…thats it! I thought the unit was dear and an additional cost for the sensors but I see now that it was money well spent. Off on a cycling holiday abroad next week and really happy I have the edge with me.
