This bottle of cleaner works on the oil stains on our driveway. It took a few attempts to remove the old oil stains though. The product I received was one liter with spray nozzle so it is easy to use.
produit qui m’a donner satisfaction pour nettoyer des pilliers en moellons qui ont ete asperger par de l’huile hydraulique, le produit a dissout la majoriter de l’huile.
My partners van has leaked a load of oil on the driveway and it looks absolutely terrible. We used this solution neat over aprox 2m. The trigger is easy to use, we left it for a while before rinsing off. It did remove a lot of it but we can still see light patches from where it was. The stains have been there for over 6 months so we will try again and hopefully it will completely disappear. Also works on petrol. Would buy again.
The cleaner arrived safely, and with no leaks.
I spilt some oil on my driveway back in March and didn’t get round to cleaning it, so when I saw this product I thought I would give it a try. While the cleaner didn’t completely remove the oil from my driveway it did dull it down a fair bit so it’s not as visible as it was before (I did scrub it quite a bit as well). If I’m being honest though, I’ve bought engine degreaser in the past at less than half the price of this which has worked much better with older stains.
I feel the product is much better suited for cleaning oil that was recently spilled rather than a patch which has been there for a while. I purposely spilt a small spot of oil onto a concrete slab and used the spray straight away, this time round it completely removed it and you wouldn’t know the oil was there. For anything other than oil though the cleaner does an excellent job of removing general dirt and grime, and I like the design of the trigger spray as its easy to use.
For tougher stains you need to use the product neat; just spray it directly onto the affected area, leave it for 5 minutes and then wash it off with water. If the drive/path is only lightly spoiled, then you can dilute the cleaner down a bit (up to a 10:1 ratio).
Overall, my recommendation is that if you have old oil stains that need cleaning then I would probably recommend something a bit stronger than this product but for fresh oil spills and anything else it works very well. It’s not the best value for money cleaner out there, I feel 15 is quite a lot of money for a cleaning product. It’s a cleaner I’m happy to recommend though and I feel four stars is appropriate for it.
This oil and drive cleaner comes in a pump action spray bottle and is inside a resealable bag in case of any leaks during postage. The bottle didn’t leak but it’s nice to see that they take precautions against it as a wet package can damage other items in your package.
This cleaner comes in a plastic bottle with a squirty head, but the trigger is at the top so has to be squeezed with your thumb. I’ve not used this type of design before, but it works just as well as the regular type. Using this way allows the bottle nozzle to point downwards due to the weight and you just squirt it with your thumb. It also stops any dribbles going onto your fingers as they are out of they way. It’s a nice design and a really good idea as you’ll always be squirting this down towards the floor.
This is easy to apply to your oil-stained surface and is meant to be left on the stain for at least five minutes for it to get to work. It breaks down the oil making it easier to lift out of the surface it stained. I had a few oil marks on the ground from plenty of years of servicing my car and the odd squirt of old engine oil escapes in a direction you weren’t expecting thanks to the wind. I put some of this down on the stains and left it for 10 minutes. I came back and used a pressure washer to clean the floor. Most of the oil was gone and it looked a lot cleaner than it did before. There was still a little bit of staining, so I repeated what I did the first time and this time the stain had gone. If you look really closely, you can still very vaguely see it, but it’s virtually gone. I decided to not give it another dosing as I was already happy with the result.
This made removing the oil stain easy as I always tried getting up what I could with a rag as I thought there would be no other way of getting the floor clean again. I was wrong as this stuff made it easy to lift the oil off the floor. With the amount you use, and the amount you get, this will last ages depending on how much dirt and oil you have on your floor. This can even be diluted for larger areas or not so heavy staining. Highly recommend this as it easily removes old oil, especially made easy if you have a pressure washer to wash the area down afterwards
This product is ideal for your driveway or patio, simply point and spray at the offending stain, leave for a few seconds and then brush away with a handbrush (nailbrush or even toothbrush). If you have had a leaky radiator or even sometimes a stain from the condenser of your air-conditioning, to say nothing of an oil leak or spilled petrol, this is the ideal solvent, that will help you take it away. If it has been there for a long time time then don’t expect miracles, but do expect a serious change – i have almost totally removed a mark left from engine oil that has been there for a couple of years.
This is an ideal item to have on the shelf in your garage for just when you need it – act quickly is my advice, rather than waiting for tomorrow! Good value!
So simple to use on oil stains on brick set driveways.
I used this product to tackle an oil stain on my block paved driveway. Picture 1 shows the stain before any work. I then used a hot solution of basic laundry detergent in water, make sure the water is as hot as you can comfortably use with safety gloves on. Using nylon brushes scrub the stain hard with the hot detergent and then rinse off with water from a normal hose (I didn’t pressure wash). Picture 2 shows the interim result of the detergent wash. Then, after allowing the stain to dry completely, apply the GLEAN cleaner and leave for at least 5 minutes (I left it for about 5 minutes as it was at risk of drying). Again, using a hose wash the stain with water and the result can be seen in picture 3.
All in all I’m very pleased with the product although engrained stains might return to some extent after several days, therefore a second application might be warranted.
The only slight negative is that the writing on the bottle is very small and you almost need a magnifying glass to read the instructions! This of itself does not impact on its ability to clean the stain however.
