Overall I’m happy with the Glide Gear TMP-100. It was easy to set up and use. Also, easy to break down and store. Solid metal construction throughout. The added case was plus. I look forward to using this. Thanks!

I can’t believe how easy this unit is to set up and use. Solid construction and easy packaging to store and use the unit.
I’ve worked in TV for over 35 years, back when a teleprompter operator was a full time job, feeding scripts onto a conveyor belt and adjusting the speed of the belt to time with whoever was talking to camera.
This unit simply works. Easy to set up and easy to use.
It brings my game to a very professional level and put the talent at ease, allowing them to look their best, which at the end of the day is what it’s all about as a freelance Videomake

Very simple to set up, and I would recommend using the PromptSmartPro App, which automatically scrolls to the words being read out ($20?). Nice big clear screen, very legible, even with an iPad Mini.

I thought the devise was very simple and easy to set up on set and get shooting. The Teleprompter is quite ruggedly designed and the carrying case with the yellow piping make it easy to identify during setup.

As a video creator for our organization, I wanted to add a bit of professionalism to our shoots, especially when we had scripted lines for the talent to read. This has been a huge upgrade from our previous method of taping sheets of paper with large print to the tripod.

I love how compact and easy this teleprompter is to use. I had a different teleprompter years back that was unable to fold up & always seemed to be in the way taking up space. I never traveled with it as again it was just took up too much room. I’m a big fan of this teleprompter.

This product is a strong and effective tool that allows me to accomplish my video production in a third of the time. One of the zippers was not functional on the hood, but a few safety pins did the trick.

I use this Teleprompter when creating instructional videos. It’s definitely a solid product and it uses metal. The only drawback I have is that it is front heavy and it will require a sturdy tripod.

Lightweight and very easy to assemble. I set up mine with my iPad2 seamlessly. I have a logic webcam and everything was very easy to set up. Instructions could be a little better especially with the pics. Also there are some accessories pics depicting how to use the accessories would have been great.

Overall outstanding product one one real complaint is that the mounting holes for the tripod may be too far back thus making it tricky to balance the teleprompter. Since I am using an iPad it becomes front heavy. This could be easily resolved be placing more mounting holes further forward. However, they do provide and accessory that the teleprompter could be mounted a little further up to counter the in balance of the weight distribution.

We use a teleprompter enough to justify buying one but also not enough to spend $1000 on one. This system is super easy to setup and move around. We use it with a Sony FS7 and Fuji MK lens, so we put the teleprompter on it’s own tripod and it works great.

The case it comes with has been great so far as well.

I was so impressed with the way it all goes together. It very well engineered. Had no problem with setting it up on my tripod. It’s balanced and light. It fits my iPad perfectly and I like that it has the adapter for my iPhone to use as a camera. It takes the iPhone 13 and the older small SE as well.

The case this comes with isn’t thick enough to hold everything without bulging, and I doubt it would keep the glass from breaking if dropped. But the teleprompter mount itself is great, especially for the price. Solid construction, simple and quick to setup, works even with a relatively large camera/lens. Holds an iPad, phone, or really any tablet like a Kindle. Remember, you’ll need to provide that and a teleprompter app.

This is the first teleprompter I’ve bought, and I’ve been really pleased with it. I’ve used it only in the studio/office (rather than taking it out to video shoots with clients), but it’s been great.

The included instructions and the company “set up” videos are disappointing, but in searching YouTube, I was able to find a couple of solid unboxing videos that were helpful. I’d recommend purchasing this teleprompter.

  36. AstridGass says:

Honestly, there is nothing to dislike about this other than it doesn’t have a tilt (but most shouldn’t need this and if you do you’ll have/can get an adapter to add this functionality easily/cheaply). Didn’t even need instructions to set it up. Bought a cheap 10.2 inch android tablet and mirroring (and inverting) my screen (easier on linux than windows, for windows only good solution I found was UltraMon software). Definitely better for semi-long term installs than running/gunning, but even 2.5ft away for streaming to classes and having chat on the teleprompter worked amazing. Eye scrolling less of an issue for reading chat vs when trying to pretend you aren’t using teleprompter for VOD creation. Only gave 4/5 on portability so people realize this is best when not trying to be portable, but when you do need to move it, the included carrying case is almost too good… Which is really nice to see.

The only reason I gave 4 stars isn’t because the product was bad, but for some reason when I’m using my phone camera on the teleprompter the camera is recording even the corners of the teleprompter and the tablet I’m using for the texts. Out of that it’s a well built teleprompter.

  40. MarkoGouin says:

Like that its made of all metal so feels very sturdy. It has plenty of places to attach a small rig or other things like a monitor on the side. I bought based on the recommendation of DSLR shooter because I freeze up in front of camera and need a script. This allows for me to put a kindle in the tray and use the teleprompter app.

Over the last year, we launched a couple of video channels for our business. We didn’t have much experience, and sort of “McGyvered” a Frankenstein set up, moving from shooting with iPhones and iPads with teleprompter apps on them to a DSLR on a tripod, with an iPad running the teleprompter app on an extension arm just over the top of the camera–which meant we weren’t looking straight into the lens. Well, we’ve decided to try and do it right, and got the Glide Gear TMP100. We mounted a key light on one side and an external camera monitor on the other (the TMP100 has holes for mounting accessories on the side). It couldn’t be a better set up. Very solid and stable, simple to set up, the glass is a great size for reading from about 5-7 feet away with a 10.5 iPad running the teleprompter app. We even sprang for the bluetooth pedals to advance the script. This is a total winner.

It felt like a lot of money when I unpacked it to see what you get HOWEVER the metal is very strong and glass thick and all has worked really well so far. Can’t fault it.

I’m using a mobile phone and free app to do the text. Works really well. Had to put phone on full brightness but still couldn’t see in final media.

  43. Anonymous says:

     Australia

use this with a mobile phone, very clear up to about 2-3 metres. The glass makes only a slight decrease in the image brightness…Very slight. Sturdy, has been knocked around without any breakages and the quality is good. Could be my particular Rode Video Micro but only thing I would suggest is a location for video mics to be securely bound to the prompter.

The product was very well made and well thought out. It is sturdy as it is made with metal. The reflective glass was great. I love that it comes with a carrying case with an additional long strap to hang on the shoulder. I think this product will last very long if we take care of it. Highly recommend it.

    Great Built Quality, All Metal Parts, very sturdy for sure;

the glass is clear and clean, and of good reflective quality from my iPad

No assembly required, easy to use, minimal setup steps

Zipper at the Hood abit Challenging to Use, need to be extra careful about the zippers as it is thin and potential to break if mishandled

I find the glide gear TMP 100 to be very well built and designed and is the best Teleprompter that I have used.

I originally heard about this product on several YouTube reviewers, and while I thought there was no way a product this smart (and something I really wanted to use) could be this great of quality for this price.

    Man, was I wrong.

What I found was a product that provided a great value and made a great addition to my YouTube/Podcasting work.

Sturdy quality that does just what it says it will. Set up that happens quick. And build quality much like other units I’ve used in my professional speaking career, but at HALF or LESS the price. Bonus: the carry bag is a super nice touch; I think the only beef I have is that the inner packing could/should be more like that found in camera kits, and not “semi-sloppy” slices of foam.

All in all I’m very pleased.

I needed this for a informational video I made. It worked really well! I could barely see the camera behind it and could read the text perfectly. The only thing is I’ve used it like once and the zipper on the top of the teleprompter that connects to the glass has already broken. But honestly the zipper isn’t super necessary so I’m still happy.
I love that it all comes in this small portable carrying case too!

  49. CarmenDamron says:

The product is rock solid and performs admirably, the only downside is that the mounting plate is fixed at a height that works great for directly attaching a standard DSLR, but the lack of adjustment means it’s can be a little bit too high if you’re wanting to mount something like a quick release plate, and the top of the frame can be obstructed.

However… they’re just internal threaded rods, so if you’re fine with a little DIY, they can be replaced with shorter ones – The only real downside being a bit more fiddly to tighten the knobs for the tablet mount.

I love the compact nature of this teleprompter. The carrying case included with the prompter makes it very convenient to take it anywhere you need it. I’ve only had it a short time, but it seems very sturdy. The glass quality makes it very easy to see and read the text for a flawless performance. And it doesn’t break the bank either. I’m thrilled with this unit and I can’t wait to test it’s durability.

I’ve used prompters from 50 all the way up to professional 20k prompters, so I’m experienced.
The quality of this unit isn’t up the standard of higher priced units, but for a home studio it’s perfect. It’s easy to set up and fits a large variety of cameras, from small mirrorless GH5s to large Canon C500.

Build quality is adequate and should last a long time.

I know this is bad photo for the Glide Gear TMP100. but trust me it is on the front of that camera.

We used it for three days in a row and could not have been happier. The size is great if you can get right in front of your talent like we did. It’s not so small that you have to have it in their face to read it but it is not too big that you can see them “eye tracking” as they read the script.

The case is fine. If you like to throw your stuff around then put it in a pelican case or buy a box at Harbor Freight, Home Depot or right here on Amazon.

Again, for short to moderate distances from the talent (depending on how well they can see it) this little guy really works with no imaging issues at all.

…and remember the golden rule, “The best way to keep glass clean….never get it dirty”!

    Great Glass!

Those three words just about sum up this teleprompter. The full metal construction feels like it could hold as much as 20lbs with no worries. I could imagine this teleprompter lasting 5-10 years of medium to heavy use, the first things that might show wear probably being scratches/scuffs on the metal and possibly damage to the fabric hood. It’s versatile in that you can use any camera with a standard 1/4-20 mount or even a smartphone with the included holder. The screen used for the actual teleprompting can be anything from a smartphone to a tablet, possibly even a small laptop if it’s a 2-in-1 capable of folding into a tablet form. The carrying case this came with is very nice. The zipper feels durable, the hard-ish shell and padding seem protective, and it has a carrying strap and handle.

So far this teleprompter and the app I’m using on my phone have been great for making filming easier. I would highly recommend getting one for anyone who is doing video production, reading from a script is far easier and faster than trying to memorize lines or improvise based around key points. It takes some getting used to, but it’s worth trying. If you want a teleprompter that won’t let you down, I’d suggest this one.

This works perfectly!! Just the right size for everything! Make sure your tripod can take the weight of a camera, iPad and this rig (about 6lbs). No matter how much I tightened the ball on my tripod, the combined weight would drag one side down. Ended up having to use a counter weight to stablize. After that, everything was perfect. I love the quality of the rig. The glass is beautiful. I wish the storage bag had stronger sides, but the glass nestles in thick foam, and made it to me through the mail without incident, so that is a plus. I would buy this again and encourage anyone looking for a solution to stop looking down to read words off of a paper to give this a try! Game changer when creating videos with speeches and “talks”.

I bought this for delivering sermons online. It helps me to maintain eye contact with the audience on the other end.
The product is all metal construction and easy to set up. Glass is of good quality.
The tray fits my Samsung pad but too small for my Surface Pro.
I was hoping to mount an Arca Swiss QR plate but most cheap Arca Swiss cannot be installed on it due to the flat plate design where the camera sits.

  64. KayleneBurley says:

For the price, I was expecting something a little more sturdy than most teleprompters. I was happy with the metal frame and rails and velcro skirt to keep the light from reflecting off the glass. The only bummer about a teleprompter like this is having to transport it and additional setup time. It can be a little tricky to get the skirt under the camera’s lens and make sure it is not blocking the lens. After I got it set up, I was happy with it. And the carrying case is very useful and includes foam to keep the glass safe.

  65. Tegoeh Chuzy says:

great bit of gear. Doesn’t hold iPad Pro so I also got the TMP 750. The zips are dodgy and the case is useless.

  66. BernadineWisnie says:

     United States

The product arrived on time and was packed well. I like the zippered carry pouch that holds everything safe inside. I like that the frame is metal, and that the shroud is heavy cloth. It was a little tough to get the shroud in place, but once done, it fits snug and stays put. It’s even sturdy enough to hold my monitor, which is great. The 70/30 beamsplitter glass works well without shadowing the text. It holds my 10″ tablet very well. I was worried about the cheese plate not being long enough to support my Sony FS100, and it is close, but it does work. This leads to probably my only suggestion to the manufacturer: Make the plate a little longer! (Not everyone is using a DSLR)
So far, I have only used this rig in my studio, so I don’t have much to say about breakdown and setup. Overall, this is a great inexpensive solution to the age-old need for a good teleprompter that works well but doesn’t break the bank. I have used the big ones, even built my own, but this little rig does the job well and gets my vote.

    Holds a Sony video camera!
