Battery is heavy which is the major disadvantage however I still to establish the operational time as the heavy battery may gain merit if the running time is significantly longer?

Brilliant product! Powerful cutting and very light weight. Quick charging time and easy use without the trouble of cables. Not the cheapest cost but worth every penny I would say. Definitely would recommend if your unsure.

Overall I’m impressed with the cutting power, weight and battery life. I also have the pole trimmer, which I bought over a year ago and between both I can easily cut my hedge on a full charge from both batteries / trimmers. The hedge is a good 3m high x 60m long and between them they made short work of it. It is not as powerful as my old 240v mains trimmer and I didn’t this to be, then again I don’t have any heavy branches to deal with so not a problem 99% of the time. Weight is OK, about the same as my old trimmer and the big bonus is not having to worry about moving or accidentally trimming the mains chord, which makes the whole process a lot simpler and safer.

It’s pretty lightweight considering 600mm blade. The battery lasts 40 minutes. I also like you can change the angle of the cutter, ideal for vertical surfaces.

I already have a Greenworks blower so it made sense to buy a Greenworks hedge trimmer and share advantage of two batteries/chargers. Easy to handle, portable and cuts well.
Maybe on the expensive side but for me worth it.

Really like Greenworks tools, I have the strimmer, leaf blower, lawn mower and this is my second hedge cutter, having given away my first to a friend. I am still using the same batteries that I had with the first purchase, the lawn mower, which are dated 15/03/16 and still going strong. Very Happy.

Used this for the first time with my 6ah battery and only used 25% of it on a stretch of very overgrown privet side and top at least 40ft long well impressed it’s powerfull and hardly used any battery, defo going to invest in strimmer and lawnmower next.

Already have a Greenworks pole trimmer which is giving good service. Bought this for for closer work, so far it is doing an excellent job. Not the lightest of battery trimmers but comfortable in use. Purchased at a favourable price but note it has the previous model battery.

I hate gardening. I particularly hate hedges – time consuming, messy, spiky. For years I either avoided them, or insisted on using big petrol cutters because “battery ones are no good”.

Batteries have changed. When I tried to cut the hedge this year pull-starting my two-stroke cutter was a nightmare, when it ran it belted out fumes that give me a headache, and it vibrated my arms and deafened me slowly before dripping fuel down my arm from a split fuel hose.

Ordered this, plugged the charger in and let it fully charge, then trimmed the hedge. About 60ft of it. It got to 40ft on half charge, as well as the end and a bit of the top, the final 20ft or so it was still going but I was flagging – however this is 60ft of swinging the cutter vertically when my petrol one would gave knackered me in 20ft.

Even as 1/4 charge lit up the cutter showed no signs of struggling with a year’s growth, but after 40 minutes I was happy with progress and popped the battery on the charger.

It’s light, easy to rotate, easy to clear snags, and very quiet. Cuts thicker branches with less faff than a two stroke petrol one and is considerably nicer to work with.

Cons? Few – the only thing that I wasn’t keen on was the noise from the charger; as it reaches full charge the electronic squawk is pretty loud.

I’m a convert and will be ditching my two-stroke strimmer for the electric one from this range. Really impressed and looking forward to trimming more of the garden free of combustion-engine fumes and faff!

Wow. Never buying two-stroke oil again…

Powerful and easy to use with good battery life. It is much better and easier to use than the last corded hedge trimmer I had. Cut through overgrown hedges without any trouble.

    Very good hedge trimme

Was trimming hedges easy? – Yes. A lot easier than my old corded model. This trimmer cuts through the stuff my old trimmer wouldn’t.
Is it lightweight? – Not for me, but I want durability rather than flimsiness and I can take a rest when I want to. I find that keeping the hedge straight at about 6 foot/1 meter a bit of a challenge. The hedge sides were easy though!
Battery life? – Ah! plenty of battery left when I finished remodelling my hedge, but, according to the manual, I’m not supposed to recharge the battery unless nearly flat! That said, I bought another battery so I always have a fully charged spare.
Would I buy another? – No. Why would I when I’ve got a perfectly good one already? I did buy more cordless garden tools though because of the sheer convenience of not trailing a mains cable around

Used this for first time today, found it very easy, blades are sharp and cutting through stems . Battery was really good as spent about 40 min, cutting and used only half of battery power, you can check battery power by pushing a button , lights shine showing what power is left. Very good product.

battery hedge trimmer very good although the power from 40v 2ah battery needs upgraded to 4ah
    to give better cutting performance

Really is light and easy to use. Happy so far but I haven’t had it long so can’t comment on how durable it is.

Extremely happy with purchase. Has made trimming hedges and trees so much easier.
Battery life very good, easy to operate.
It’s a little heavy but a small sacrifice for the time saving and convenience it affords.
    It’s also reasonably quiet.
    Would highly recommend.

It does exactly what it says on the box. No chance of cutting a cable as I have done in the past. No extension reels either.

I have a 12 ft high, 40 m hornbeam and laurel hedge surrounding the property. And having used this hedge cutter for a couple of weeks, I must confess, that the hedge has never looked better, or sharper.
To be clear, it is important that the blades are well oiled prior to using, and that the cutting blades are kept sharp, by sharpening and honing. Of course wherever blades are involved this applies. Too, I never let the young seasonal shoots become mature or woody, this would put more stress on the blades than they are designed for. So keep your hedge trimmed weekly during the growing season, and you will make light work of it. For the price, this trimmer and I would put it into the trimmer class, is worth every penny. If you are having to restore an over and outgrown mature hedge, this, is not the tool for it. In which case you will have to invest in the next trimmer class up, and you will be looking at 500.00 plus.

Best hedge trimmer I have had. Great for large leaf hedges and shrubs. Battery seems to last forever!

Brilliant peace of garden kit, cuts hedges well and battery life is really good. Have bought other garden products from Greenworks and have no difficulty in recommending these.

Excellent hedge trimmer. Works very well, not too heavy and the rotating handle a real plus. Great being able to interchange the battery with my Greenworks mowe

The trimmer was an excellent price and delivery quick. Once received it was put on charge as per the instructions. Once fully charged I immediately started to trim my hedge which at 2m + tall and 5m approx., in length has always been a challenge. It also has some quite hefty branches and brambles in it too. The trimmer coped well and there was plenty of charge left when I had finished. All in all it is fairly light and easy to use. As it is a recent buy and only used once it is difficult to provide a comprehensive review but it is looking promising and I’m happy so fa
