I bought these for my 2 bichon frise in a small size and they fit well with plenty of room for adjustment. Took me a little while to figure out how to attach properly but once they were on were quite simple to use. I like how they reduce the amount of pulling even though it’s not eliminated completely, without causing any discomfort to the dog and reducing discomfort from me being pulled along! My walks are a lot more comfortable now and wish had tried using them a lot sooner.

I have two 4 month old Golden Retriever puppies, one male, one female. From the very start the male (but not the female!) pulled hard on his leash. Both of them were in harnesses, but just regular ones, not Haltis. I tried various suggested solutions (turning round, verbal commands, pulling back, stopping walking until he stopped pulling…) but nothing worked at all. Then I heard about the Halti Harness and the difference is phenomenal. He’s a different dog. NO pulling at all, and using the two attachment points to steer him by, he follows my every wish and desire. I can’t believe it. Cannot recommend this harness highly enough. It also has the benefit of not putting any pressure on the neck, which I have always worried about with my other dogs. Don’t hesitate. A very good investment in your future with your dog.

Just bought this for my 6 month old Bernese mountain dog who is 30kg & growing. Walking him was a nightmare as he was so strong & pulled your arm off with the lead. I’ve just come back from his first walk and the difference was unbelievable! He tried to pull a bit but realised it was more comfortable to heel by my side as the harness pulled him back by his chest not his neck! Can’t believe the difference it made on one 30 min walk!!!! I think it will also allow my children to walk him now instead. Size wise: I bought size M & L as wasn’t sure which was best. The medium size has narrower straps & was perfect. Will move to the L size when he’s fully grown. The clip hole was too small to fit my lead clip but there is a big disc that you can clip your lead into instead which was great. Totally recommend!!

Just had our 9 month old Bullmastiff for nearly 2 weeks, she’s big for her age and our first Bullmastiff, the previous owners just had a normal harness and a chunky mettle chain for her walks, which was fine untill she nearly pulled my arm out of the socket and was very hard to control, one of the parents at my sons school suggested one of these and I was willing to try anything, it arrived today and I literally just used it and I must say there was a massive difference, I actually knew I had control over her and in away she actually felt more comfortable, I got the harnes and the lead and the material of the lead was so comfy I can now arrive back home with out having sore hands after her yanking me

Fantastic – I now take my dogs for a walk rather than they take me. I have 2 working beagles around 20kg each and they used to really pull, I can’t explain why this works but it really does, they still walk in front if I have them together but on their own by my side. Having tried a few leads these are the only ones I would recommend. We bought a double leather lead for each but you don’t need to.
Only negative is that I should have bought small as I have had to tighten them as much as possible.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersi have the medium one for my Dalmatian. You have to take doggies weight and girth size into account to get the best use of this product, i put it over my dalys coat to stop/reduce the rubbing while it gets broken in, with frequent use, it gets softer, and the skin tags disappear after a while, I would make your walks short and frequent till you both get used to this product and it softens up over time with regular usage. I find our walks are more pleasant and relaxed. Been using this product for 2 years now. It slips over her head, you hen Clip the hook on to the collar first, you will then see the other Clip which will hang just under the belly near the underside of the front leg, click the plastic clips together, then make the adjustments to either side of the black chest plate to make it fit snugly, you will see what I mean when you you slip it over her head. After adjustments are made to fit, Your good to go, enjoy your walks with little pulling to none gives you full control. We love ours.

This harness made a huge difference to a very strong pulling dog, she still pulls but a good 70% improvement, I just wish there was a better fitting size as the medium is slightly big and small would be too small. I’m convinced I’d have more improvement with a better fitting harness! Unfortunately I’ll be shopping elsewhere for a better fitting harness.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this for my chocolate lab. The size is a little big but the med size is too small.
I have tried many many harnesses and head collars and and nearly given up hope.
I have 2 Labs and they pulled so hard that walking them was just a nightmare , this was probably my last hope and I didn’t really think it would stop the pulling.
But I’m pleased to say it has made such a difference to me, I have been able to walk the 2 dogs with ease,
Not sure why this works any differently from the others I have tried but it does work for me so it may be worth a try

We needed to replace an existing Halti Harness as our puppy was on the point of growing out of it and then the clasp wedged tight and couldn’t be undone so I had to cut the strap to release my dog. Because the harness works so well I decided to stick with the brand and purchased the medium. Much sturdier construction and padded in part. A bit of excess strap but this can easily be cut and sealed when we are sure she has finished growing. Overall would recommend but make sure you line the clasp up properly when you put it on your dog.

Excellent harness, makes walking my mad springer much easier. Fastening clip can be a bit fiddly as its under the armpit. Also the sliding ring on the chest doesn’t really move as freely as it should. This could be operator error but a good harness none the less.

I don’t know how or why this harness works – but it does. It has stopped my border collie from nearly pulling my arm off when we walk and has made trips outside far more enjoyable.
It took about ten minutes to work out how it goes on and how to adjust it, but after that – you’re off.
They recommend you buy the two ended lead to walk with the dog – I did and that is good from walking ‘to heel’. However, it also works with just an extendable lead attached to the front loop which gives her more freedom and exercise.
    A great product.

They recommend you buy the two ended lead to walk with the dog – I did and that is good from walking ‘to heel’. However, it also works with just an extendable lead attached to the front loop which gives her more freedom and exercise.
    A great product.

    Works wonders for my Lab.

He’s always been a very good walker, and rarely pulled me, only annoyingly walked in front sometimes, but my grandmother wanted to take him for walks as well. Since she’s such a soft touch when it comes to him he would try yank her down the street. Since I got him this harness he walks perfectly to heel for all of us, and doesn’t get too excited when first going places. I also use the Halti face harness when taking him to busier places.

I would definitely recommend getting this if you have dog who’s a little bit too eager to get where he’s going, or a full on pulling monster. Had my boy walking in perfect heel after one walk.

I have a small collie and this was only just small enough. I ended up cutting some of the adjustment straps to remove excess. It works better than a conventional lead but is not a complete cure. She can still pull if she wants but is less successful and the harness attaches in a way that is less harmful to her. It is easy to put on and remove once you get the hang of how it attaches. Seems well made and should last. She doesn’t object to having it fitted.

Excellent harness, but again like all other harnesses did not stop my border collie pulling. I would advice that you don’t use this on longer coated dogs as fur gets caught in front leader. But I have seen these work so I give it a thumbs up but just not for me.

We think this product is amazing… we have a very strong beagle, who pulls alot on the lead. This worked instantly!!!, we still cant believe how effective this harness is. Take the time to properly fit and adjust as necessary & you will see brilliant results. The harness is easy to put on and take off, comfortable, & much nicer than other ant pulling harness we have seen. Our beagle is much calmer now, as the constant pulling is nipped in the bud. Our walks are less stressful by far!!! The only negative point is that part of the harness seems to be fraying which is disappointing as we have only had the product a few weeks.

This is good quality, works well and had immediate results. My dog is a large medium sized beast and has never liked the original halti always attempting to remove it by any means! That also works well but the pharness seems more comfortable for him. I did read the reviews first so made sure to measure him before ordering (medium size) and it fits perfectly once adjusted. This is very strongly made and am sure will last a long time. I am only using a normal extendable lead at the moment so fasten at front for times extra control is needed and on the back at the times he can have a root around whilst still on lead! Plus he happily runs about off the lead and shows no concern about the harness – it is an all round winner for us!

Very good. Stops a lot of the pulling, but not all, though it would depend on the type of dog that you own. I have a young, very, strong staffy. My dog took to this harness straight away, and he wasn’t bothered by it at all, which was surprising. I’ve been using it now for a few months, and have had no problems with it. The only snag is that it needs tightening now and again, as it works loose with usage.
On the whole I would strongly recommend this harness.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy 6 month old German Shepherd puppy is going through a very boisterous teenage stage! I dread every walk! They are exhausting, embarrassing and stressful! I have tried other harnesses and none of them stopped her from pulling! I have no control over her! 🙁
We’ve just returned from our first walk using this harness and I am actually looking forward to our next walk! I can’t say she didn’t pull but that’s a behaviour that no collar or harness can rectify! But with this harness, I have a better chance of training her to walk properly! She is simply unable to pull properly! I love it!

Having tried almost every product available for my Dalmation, who pulls like a freight train, I have found this to be effective. As my dog is deaf it is hard to communicate with her when she is pulling so much. This had now made using her flexi lead on beaches/fields a little easier. Still have to use halti on roads but I now have more options for different types of walks.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI take on oldie rescue Boxers, who are usually still strong, often not great on the lead and not socialised. I don’t agree with chokers or anything that might harm their throat. I’ve used this harness for the past five years and on three lovely oldies, including my current beautiful, 9 year old, 35 Kilo! girl. If used properly (with two leads, front ‘D’ ring and top ), it give great control, comfort for the dog and they walk to heal calmly and enjoy their walks. The key here is to follow the Halti instructions and keep at it, using lots of encouragement on the way.

This is a good product but the sizing is still a bit off (as previous reviews have said) – the small is still a bit big in some places on my Cairn. This is a shame because the principle of the harness is excellent and with a clip at the front, helps to prevent him pulling. (Does not stop it, but it is not such an issue). We use it with the Halti Training Lead which has numerous hoops and two clips.

My Springer Spaniel is a puller – I tried a figure of 8 lead which went over her nose, which stopped the pulling, but which she spent the whole time trying to remove, causing her nose to bleed. This seems to do the same job (perhaps a touch less effective) but she tolerates it much more happily (only one or two brief attempts to remove it). A word of warning – measure your dog to get the sizing (I read a review which said a Spaniel needs a small which is indeed true)

This was recommended to me by our local Dog Walker to stop our strong dog pulling me on the lead so much. It’s great, so much easier to handle the dog now, if she pulls she turns around, but wearing it she doesn’t seem to pull half as much as she did before. The only downside is that the straps do stretch when they are wet, I had read other reviews that said this, but it isn’t a problem she still is more controllable even when wet and I adjust the straps again when they are dry. It would be so wonderful if they made the same harness without the ‘stretchy when wet’ straps. I use it with the halt training lead which I think is a must it helps with control. I also use it with an extendable lead and it is no problem at all. She wears it when I let her off lead and again, she has no problem with it. In fact I think she feels a little more confident in it, she is an anxious dog.

Bought this for my 8 month old ESS. I had previously been using a check chain as recommended by my dog training class, this had improved her pulling most of the time however not for the first walk of the day.

Put the halti on today for her first walk, and what an amazing difference. Instead of a strong tug with the chain, all the halti requires is a very gentle pull and “heel” and it keeps her at my side. Such a huge difference that I can actually control her with one hand.

I cannot recommend the halti highly enough.

This is very useful for dogs that pull, i’m very happy with the way it works, the only problem is that is a bit larger than what I expect so at first the dog learned how to take it off. As soon I learned how to solved this problem everything went fine. The best thing is I can teach my dog how to walk on a leash without suffering.

This is the only product that stops my spaniel from pulling. It is a great product but orginally i bought the medium size which fits my spaniel but a bit loose so i thought i’d try the small- but this is tiny on him so back to the medium i think. Orginally i had not bought the training lead that goes with the harness but this time i did and now wished i’d bought it years ago – well worth getting the halti training lead which goes with this harness. I highly recommend this harness, its pulls across a dogs chest so stops them straight away from pulling- i have tried all other harness’s and this really is the only one that works, it gives you so much more control. Just be careful with the sizing.

Bought one of these on the advice of my puppy club trainer for my 9 month old GSD puppy, in medium size with twin lead.
He didn’t like it and chewed the first one to pieces.
So i bought another one and he is now used to it. It really helps stop him pulling on the lead. He also waits patiently while I fit it as it is a bit fiddly, but he has figured out that he should stand perfectly still while I fit the clips etc.
He now walks gently and in step. However if I revert back to a slip lead he starts pulling again, so full marks to Halti Harness.

Our 10 month old border collie is quite a handful and we already used a gentle leader halter but have found the halti harness to give better control. It doesn’t stop her pulling however, but has reduced it slightly. We find it much easier to attach the leash and to catch her (recall not great yet but improving). By leaving the harness on during free running we have a built in handle.
It is a bit too big but the small would be too small – she is a slight build. Altogether though we are very pleased with this purchase and use it constantly. We have since read that a halter type, as well as neck collars on which to fix the leash, can cause problems with the neck and spine later in life if you have a strong, pulling dog, as we have, whereas a harness supports the trunk of the dog.

Having tried the nose halti with some success (and found that Bonnie wasn’t as keen as I was on it!) we were recommended to buy this one and got it just in time for the bad weather. It has been a life-saver. We’ve found it works with only 1 lead (unlike the nose halti) which saves juggling leads when you have 2 dogs to hold! The additional training leaflet was, however, disappointing. We got the medium size which was loads big enough for a alsation x greyhound – but it is adjustable.
Delivery time was also good, in the middle of the chaos caused by Christmas and bad weather. So all in all, very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe Halti harness is an excellent product. My Dobermann walks better and can be controlled more easily when she has her Halti harness on. The only niggle I have with it is that it tends to look untidy (ie. rides up to her shoulder) when she has worn it for a length of time during a walk. However it makes for a more enjoyable walk as she does not yank at my arm as she does with normal type leads.
