I’m not normally one to write reviews, however, this harness is the best! I bought this to use with the halti training leash for my 10 month old lurcher. He had an accident where he slipped a different harness and was super strong to walk.

With this harness, it’s like walking a different dog now! The harness fits perfectly and paired with the leash he walks amazing and is so much easier to control on his walks.

This harness doesn’t stop the pulling but it does reduce it.

I was looking for a harness to help my feral 7 month,14kg pup stop pulling. I walk my 5kg dog and pup together and I was just so fed up with being dragged and my little dog being dragged with me. I just felt so disheveled and exhausted after I walked him. I trained my 52kg Akita and she was a handful at first, but this boy is just relentless.

I already had a “no pull harness” (and I say that loosely) but it just wasn’t cutting it, so I jumped on amazon to see what i could find.

I came across the halti harness and thought that may do the trick. I looked at others but they were more of a string type and we feared that those harness would cut into his armpits.

I measured my pup, looked on the halti harness diagram and choose the harness size to suit him, which was medium and it fits perfectly.

The first time that I put it on my pup, he turned to me and gave me a look to say ‘what’s going on?”, he wasn’t overly impressed but carried on trying to pull but not getting as far as he did when he wore his previous harness. As a bonus I now feel that my arm is not going to be ripped out of it’s socket everytime i take him for a walk.

We originally wanted to change his harness, from the ones that go over the head and clip both sides of the body, as with this type of harness when he was pulling the front of it kept riding up to his throat and putting pressure on it, plus it didn’t stop him pulling. With the halti harness it sits comfortably in the right place. It also has a soft tube (although it moves) that covers the straps going under the armpits. The glider can be a bit fiddly/frustrating, especially when you have an impatient pup, but the straps are nice, thick and sturdy and do not cut into him.

It has a clip at the front and one on the top and also a little grasp finger hoop (well I think that’s what it is??) It has a padded chest piece and the quality is nice.

When we go out for a walk we put his training halti lead on, when we get to the field we put his 10m flexi lead on to let him have a run. We were concerned that it would hurt him when he got to the end of the 10 metres which he usually does as full speed, but seems absolutely fine with it and carries on chasing and playing with his sister.

On the walk back, I put back on his halti lead, but instead of having it in my hand I put it across my body, wearing it on the opposite shoulder to the side my pup is on and I clip both clips to the top of the harness. This is when training him becomes easier, I have a hand free to give him treats, he is tired from a run (more likely to listen) and it’s a bit harder for him to pull a (–)kg person, so he’s right by my side, obviously I stop with him when he wants to sniff, etc. It makes a more of a pleasurable walk.

To help with his loose lead/stop pulling training, I do try and wear him out with a flirt pole in the garden for around 10 minutes, this helps him concentrate a bit more and we also use threshold training with him before a walk, for him to have a calmer state of mind.

Time will tell with his training, but this harness gets a thumbs/paws up

I say walking loosely as she used to near enough drag me along in her haste to get to the place where she could be let off. Since purchasing the harness , she is like a different dog . She doesn’t pull at all and it is a pleasure to take her out now. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this !

This harness with Halti training lead is a life saver! I was really sceptical when buying it, but having 6 months GR that started pulling a lot I had no choice but to try it. From the first walk there was a difference and I felt that walking my dog was easier, but after 2nd and 3rd I finally love to walk with my dog again! Totally recommended!

It is a smaller style harness which you can attach a lead to front and on the back to help stop a dog pulling, which has helped with my dog. It has a buckle on the back you can loosen to help get you dog’s legs through but doesn’t unbuckle so no good for dogs with stiff arthritic legs.

I have bought the clip to attach it to the collar for additional security. It seems really comfortable for her and she does not pull at all. We had the nose halti before which she used to rub to get off and other chest harnesses she has managed to escape from. Over all very happy

I’ve not given 5 stars for comfort as obviously it’s not comfortable for the dog if it pulls.
It takes a couple of times to get fitting it to your dog sorted but otherwise is straightforward.

I had one if these years ago for my Springer. I found it brilliant and helped a lot with her pulling. I have recently bought two more and my bigger Springer is very strong so knew this harness would help control him. It does sometimes get in a tangle but it is easy to put on and seems comfortable. It has nice soft padding for under his front legs. I also use it to restrain both of them in the car by fastening each one to a head rest restraint.

I’ve just returned from my first walk with him wearing the halti harness and I can’t believe the difference! He was calm, controlled and didn’t pull once, even when he saw a cat, a squirrel and his best buddy!!! I can’t recommend this product highly enough.

Walking your dog is an ideal I totally took for granted before getting our lab, she would pull to the point of choking herself and the walks were so unenjoyable, she damaged her throat so bad from pulling so I googled ways to stop pulling and saw this and needed a harness anyway, honestly I expected nothing but it worked instantly, I finally enjoy walking her and I can now walk her with my little one as I couldn’t before as she was so hectic pulling me I couldn’t risk her pulling him too. I’m so so happy!

When combined with the double headed lead , this has made a gigantic difference to our walks. I’ve struggled to hold our dog for a year and tried pretty much everything. This is the only one that worked & was also comfortable for my dog. I might buy a backup

Very happy with this along with the matching Halti long double lead. Has made our strong pulling Lab much easier to control without danger of damaging his throat from pulling on a lead with collar and without giving him the advantage of using his chest and shoulders in a regular harness. Would definitely buy this new type of ‘y’ shaped halti harness again.

My dog is and actual Psyco, even in a harness he pulls walking on his hind legs, people legit GLARE at me thinking I’m choking him! *smh* anyway I got this, like the 6th or 7th harness I’ve tried and it finally works!! No choking, no awful gagging sounds and no more glares! He is a dream to walk now, couldn’t recommend this enough

We used this with the training lead as soon as our springer puppy was allowed out and seems to be doing the job, now on to the larger size. Sturdy but he has chewed at it including on walks which worries me, need to make sure you check it regularly. Good harness for the price

I brought this lead for my American bulldog puppy who pulls a lot and it was recommended by my friend. Don’t get me wrong he still pulls but its a lot easier to control him on this lead than any other that I have tried. I mainly use it for street walking or in the park when other dogs are around. Most of the time I can get him to walk next to me.

We have a rescue shepherd who is 40 kilos and any pull would hurt or bring sciatica pain back. The first of these harnesses broke after almost 5 years and we tried a nice looking one but we were aching! Got another of these and realised they are magic. Has saved our shoulders, back, arms…. wonderful product!
