A nicely designed Switch replacement controller. Colours are nice and not too garish.
Responds as well as named brand and at a fraction of the price
If you’re after a cheaper replacement Switch controller look no further – this feels well built, is responsive, comfortable to hold and great value
Recommended
I’m really impressed with this controller. It paired quickly and easily with the Switch and feels great in the hand – very comfortable and responsive. The analogue sticks feel accurate while the triggers and face buttons are all responsive. The build quality is excellent with a nice weighty feel to the controller. Nice colour too.
Got this controller and asked my two kids to test it out. They said the controller is ok but they prefer the original Switch joy con for two reasons:
1. The shoulder buttons is stiffer than the original one.
2. It feels more comfortable to hold the original one than this one.
My kids have small hands so I think that’s mainly why they prefer the original one. It also depends on what games you normally play. They play Animal Crossing, Metopia, or Just Dance sort of games so it is more convenient to use the original Switch controller I guess.
My husband on the other hand think this controller is quite good and comfortable to hold.
The pairing of the control to the game console is simple.
This is great, my 9 year old daughter can hold this easier than the joycons and the rubber handles mean it doesnt slip in her hands. Eady to charge just plug it in like you would with your mobile. We have had this for 3 months now and there has been no problems with the joystick sticking like we’ve had with previous controllers. Great price and perfect product. We will be buying another one
I have found this to be a really good controller that is really well made and of a strong construction. Especially compared to non original controllers and peripheral equipment I have had in the past.
It feels good in your hands and offers a great grip to let you really get hold of the controller and feel in control of it.
The buttons are all secure and well made. They have taken a fair bit of bashing so far and are showing no signs of any damage whatsoever.
It connects via Bluetooth extremely easily and I haven’t lost connection so far. The battery charge lasts many hours and doesn’t take long to charge up either.
All in all, it’s a really well made controller that comes in at a very reasonable price, which is 21.99 at the time of this review.
It is working well but it is quite light and plastic, I would prefer that to be a bit heavier, anyway it is working well and was easy to connec
Good weight and comfortable to hold and use.
Good battery life (8-10 hours) and charge rate (2-3 hours).
Good as a spare controller – wouldn’t be first choice controller as we prefer our Nintendo joycons and controllers but this is functional and above average.
Hbaid Wireless bluetooth 5.0 Controller Compatible with Switch
Very easy to set up and works perfectly with normal nintendo switch looks great aswell but also has a lot of buttons for different programming the build qaulity is great and it feels nice and sturdy it also has six axis so you can use it like a joycon very reasonably priced and well worth the money
Ordered this for my daughter and she says the design is very similar to official controller. The controller connects easily and is simple to use.It works well although can be a little temperamental/slow on certain games but overall a good quality controller at good price
This is a good little controller for my 5-year old to play on his Nintendo switch for fortnite. It is a nice size and fitting his hands perfectly as well as being ok for my husband to hold. The colour is a nice blue colour which offsets against the black handles and the red detailing around certain parts.
The controller herself was easy enough to connect with the switch however it did lose connection a couple of times. I’ve had to repair quite a few times since this can be quite frustrating for my 5-year old as it sometimes happens when he’s in a game. There is no problems with the controls these all work well and respond quickly.
The controller itself chargers well and works for a long time on around 2-hours charge. You can turn the vibration level to 4 different settings meaning for my husband he could have it on full whereas my 5-year old had it on a lower setting.
“Long Story Short”
Very comfortable
Easy to pair
Works as original pads
Well made from good quality plastic
Buttons are responsive and clicky.
No lag reported.
Value for money 10 out of 10
If you are looking for an affordable version for Switch controllers as a replacement or spare, this wireless controller from Hbaid is a good choice.
This switch controller has upgraded back button programming that provides extra manoeuvres and advanced moves. It has a one-button wake-up function for you to easily open it when it enters sleep mode. It supports 3 Turbo speeds: 20 shoots/s, 12 shoots/s and 5 shoots/s. With this, you will feel a strong, medium, and weak level of double shocks that make you feel the ultimate gaming experience.
In addition, it has a 6-axis Gyro, double vibration and a high-precision 3D joystick that will help you improve your games’ accuracy. Not to mention, its vibration also has 4 levels of intensity which are 0%, 30%, 70% and 100%. It is also equipped with a built-in 500mA battery, which could work for 8-10 hours after a full charge in 2 to 3 hours.
With regards to its appearance and build, it has ergonomically designed grips to make sure that your gaming experience is more enjoyable and comfortable even after hours of play. It has a combination of black and teal green and a little bit of accent red colour that looks modern and fun at the same time.
I have tried this controller several times and it is responsive enough and everything on the controller works as it should. It is very comfortable to hold and very easy to connect to the Switch. I must say that this is a really good one given that it only costs 25.99 upon writing this review.
For my conclusion, this is definitely a great value for money as it is much more affordable than the original Switch controller.
I’ve been testing this on my switch for about 2 weeks now, and it’s been decent! I did not really expect it to be this good; the connection is pretty decent. Battery life from full in a real world scenario for me was around 5 hours.
Decent feel to it aswell, the only negative is the button are a bit…..cheap, but other than that, I can not fault it.
An inexpensive alternative to the official switch controller. It’s attractively presented in green and red with rubberised black grips.
It’s slightly chunkier than the official controller, which I think I actually prefer. Features wise it has even more to offer, with various hotkeys, LEDS and suchlike jiggerypokery, which might rarely get used but are nice to have.
You pay a little in build quality at this price – perhaps the buttons aren’t quite as bouncy as they might be, if that’s the right word – but otherwise it’s indistinguishable in use from the original.
Highly recommended then, as an affordable alternative.
The Hbaid Wireless Controller is a very good controller at a budget price tag.
The size and shape is the same as the Pro controller.
The front of controller also has a similar layout with the addition of a turbo button.
The back features four buttons in the form of two rocker buttons.
I’ve tried the back buttons but prefer the normal topside and shoulder buttons.
The turbo comes in handy in games like Minecraft.
The controller is responsive. I have not had any drift. It also features motion control and vibration. Unfortunately, there is no Amiibo reader.
The controller feels comfortable in the hand. With the handles being nice and grippy. I also really like the colour scheme.
This is a nice replacement controller for Nintendo Switch and has some additional buttons which the original does not, particularly on the back of the unit. It looks smart and when you turn it on it has green flashing led’s at the front.
It was problematic for me in getting it to connect to the console and I had to go into the menus and re pair a number of times before the connection held. It lost the connection the next day and I had to re pair a couple of further times again.
It seems to have settled down now but still there’s an occasional connection wobble.
In use it is indistinguishable from the original controllers, there is no noticable lag in any inputs and the feedback is really good.
Overall a good value replacement controller, just a little bit glitchy to set up.
I passed it to somebody who knew what they were doing
He finds it easy to handle and use
Within minutes it was up and working
The controller was great and he found it very sturdy
I can now use it safely I would have been so long connecting as I am not technically minded
Why do I order these things ? Just for the joy of having them
Now it has to be said that I have purchased and own a fair few other non official controllers in my time so I can directly compare to many other non licensed manufacturers as well as a produce a comparison against the official products too. What I can tell you is that this particular unit is actually pretty impressive when compared to others being offered in the market place today. Here is a breakdown of the pro’s and con’s of this unit against a more expensive officially licensed unit as well as other non branded counterparts.
The unit is a little chunkier than some non branded controllers and has a slightly different shape when compared to the official joy cons or pro wireless controllers that are manufactured and supplied for the Switch console. Indeed it has a slightly different design and feel to other non branded competitors available to purchase separately in the market today too. It’s certainly not uncomfortable to hold and use although it takes a little getting used to when you have spent a long time holding a more slimline controller. My eldest children actually found it easy to hold despite its larger size and preferred to use this one over the original joy cons. My youngest kids had no troubles adapting either but unlike my eldest, they actually preferred my licensed and other non branded pads over this one. For me personally I also found it easy to adapt to and I actually found I preferred the look and feel in use of this controller.
Out of the box setting up is an absolute breeze. I attached the accompanying USB cable directly to the switch to charge it and as soon as I turned my console on and pressed the on button on the controller it recognised it instantly without me having to do anything. I was up and playing games in less than 60 seconds. How easy and simple is that?
The buttons are all mapped the same as a standard controller too so no need to mess about assigning each or configuring layouts. There are some additional buttons on the rear of the unit which I believe may be programmable? I personally didn’t need or use this feature though so I cannot comment directly on this aspect. The rumble feedback is good and actively replicates my official joy cons and charge wise this unit lasts about the same time as standard controller, with re-charge times being approximately the same too. Being USB you can either plug directly into your console or charge it up elsewhere. A small row of lights highlight the position number if multiple players are using other control pads. I have included a photo of both this controller and the official Nintendo joy cons side by side so you can directly compare sizes. This particular model is a little chunkier than the official pro wireless offering from Nintendo but nonetheless still has a very nice and tactile feel to it in my humble opinion.
There is no lag between button presses and thumb pad movement and everything works exactly as expected. Button presses do feel a little clunkier and more ‘clicky’ than I would like but that may be just reflective of price and certainly not something I really noticed after a short time using it. It’s incredibly cheap when compared to the official pro wireless control pad yet performs exactly the same albeit for a lot lower cost. Would I purchase this one again or recommend it? I am happy to say it’s a resounding yes! It feels more than comfy for longer gaming sessions and having other similar non-branded controllers this one stacks up really well. Ultimately it’s a good controller and priced incredibly low for what it is. Quality of build is particularly good and I can see this unit lasting a very long time. Absolutely nothing to dislike about this at all. Perfect!

This wireless switch controller looks and feels great. It is very easy to connect and I feel that it equals the quality of my original controller.
I haven’t experienced any issues at all while gaming and have found the controller comfortable to hold and very responsive. The controller charges well and it appears to have a good battery life. I think the current price of 24.99 is good and would happily recommend it.
The quality overall seems to be okay, appears to be well made, good construction, has a good feel to it and works perfect, and it looks great
Everything works fine, the buttons and the joy sticks feel okay, but not amazing, a bit clicks and you don’t always know if you’ve pressed them
Overall this is good controller, there are a lot on the market, this does seem to be a good priced controller, I’ve had better quality, better buttons would have made the difference, its not a licensed product but had no compatibility issues.
This Is a cheaper version of the original Nintendo Switch controller, and even though it is cheaper, it still actually works really well. It was delivered quickly and in good quality packaging.
It has many different buttons and a super cool Turbo function which I have never seen before but my son was a big fan of it.
It also vibrates sometimes which my son said was really cool and makes the experience a lot more realistic. Overall, I highly recommend it and its fantastic value for money.
Fantastic alternative for a vastly cheaper price than a nintendo switch pro controller.
The green, reb, black design is really nice and there is a patterned design around the charging point.
Fantastic weight and feel in the hand, charged by the included usb to usb-c cable (usb charger required).
The controller also has a couple of features over the normal one for a turbo mode on your actions and the other adjustable levels of vibration. I have to say the vibration is not as refined as nintendos offering but this doesn’t cost nearly as much. NFC support is not included for the use of your amiibos however there are programmable macro switches useful for added functions in your games
The controller can also be used with an android phone and a pc (by using the included usb cable)
This linked up through the Switch settings easily. Auto connects and works automatically as you’d expect. No drop outs or lagging issues so far. It feels a good ergonomic fit in my hands and the kids think it’s a more be”grown up” Switch controller. The textured grip points make it really good for longer gaming blasts. Charge has been pretty good after a busy half term week of use. Very pleased we trialled this.
The function of the Pro controller is the same as that of the host controller. The buttons have no delay, the vibration is moderate, and the grip is good. The 6-axis gyroscope + somatosensory design can lock the target flexibly, quickly and accurately.
The price is very different from the original. This controller has almost all of the exact same features, but at a lower price, it’s exactly what the game demands. Solid construction, nice tactile buttons and great battery life.
We charging it about a few hour, then it is easy to connect with the Nintendo switch. All the function is work. The colour is as like as shown. Hope it could long life.
Arrived super fast. My Son loves this controller. Very good quality . My son plays a lot of games and he found this controller very easy to handle. He loved the turbo button which had 3 levels of speed. It was very quick to set up the wireless connection. It charged up very quick in around only two hours.
This controller may be cheap compared to the original switch controller, but it can easily stand up to the toe. It’s the most comfortable controller I’ve ever held, which is fine for long sessions. It’s super easy to pair with the Nintendo Switch.
I’ve never used a turbo-capable controller before and the instructions were a bit vague on how to use it, but after some experimentation I got the hang of it. It’s easy enough to turn on and to cancel the turbo, you do the same thing you do to turn it on. Hold down the dash (-) turbo and press the repeat button to disable it.
Pairing was also ridiculously simple and fast, plus it awakens the Key!
If you ask if this product can be bought for this money? Yup. I like this controller more than the original one. It’s really cheap and has a lot of features.
The buttons and analog sticks have a nice chunky click to them, some may not like it but I love it.
The only thing that disappointed me might be the battery life. Because the controller I used before lasted 4-5 days. This will take a few days at most. But that’s not really an issue as you can still play while charging and the instructions that come with the turbo function. Other than that, you won’t regret buying this.
