I wish I’d got a Henry years ago. Absolutely fantastic.
Can’t fault i
Amazing. It deals with dog hair. i have wasted so much money on other brands, including Dyson. Almost gave up trying to find a vacuum cleaner which would cope. Spent the last few years using a rubber brush and elbow grease. Some guys came to install a log burner, and cleaned up with a Henry. i thought – wow, that Henry did a pretty good job … So, I bought my own. I hope the poweful suction keeps up. Very happy with this product.
I purchased this for various jobs, it cleans the car inside perfect and if I’m in the garage it clears saw dust etc great. My wife tried it on the carpet before I got it and to be honest even on the lowest setting on the handle it’s still super suction and a bit hard to push , so it’s all mine now.
I love my Henry works great on picking up dog hair along with cleaning wood floo
Our 2nd henry, great hoover better than those fancy ones
Suction power is great, great cord lenght, bit hard to use on stairs haveing to hold hoover & hoover at same time
You can’t go wrong with a Henry. Robust, and durable. Haven’t had any problems up to yet.
I am very pleased with this small and powerful hoover the suction is amazing the cord is long enough to reach upstairs from downstairs.
Should have bought one years ago. Much better than the last 2 Vax I bought.
I have been tired of buying cheap vacuums and them breaking or having no suction for a long time.
I remember using Henrys years ago and always remembered them to be excellent. Simple, very effective, sturdy and do exactly what they are designed to do.
I have used Dysons in the last few years and while I found them also very good, I could justify the hefty price tags.
Going back to my earlier memories of using Henry, and based on recommendations by family members and friends I decided to go with a Henry… and what a difference.. Nearly sucked up my rugs, cat and everything else in my path.
Yes some Dysons or whatever are a little more manoeuvrable, ‘easier’ so to speak. But they are also more prone to complications and faults, plus make a mess when trying to empty. Henry just does what it does, and does it very well.
There’s a reason they don’t need to advertise, the quality and longevity/fixability speaks for itself.
Note: I ummed and arred for a while, confused by the different models and not sure which to get, or which was more powerful or true to the original etc..
I just went for the 160 6l eventually, and feared it would be a cheaper and presumably less effective version, but holy… No matter which version you get the results are mind-blowing. Works especially well in an old house with old hardwood floorboards, fireplace, rugs etc. (Adjusting the power using the vent is advised, and easily achieved, on rugs or more delicate things)
I rarely leave reviews, but this is worth one, and the reason they do so well.
This was a gift for my daughter who has a carer, due to disability, who cleans her flat. Carer is thrilled with it as she doesn’t have to keep using different plug sockets to hoover.
Works perfectly well and it seems possible to use it without the suction bag.
Does exactly what I want from a hoover. Solidly built, great suction, long power cable and easy to use.
Words are not needed nor even a review as Henry Vacuum cleaners’ fame is known worldwide and despite its age (it was launched in 1987) this is undoubtedly the King of vacuum cleaners. It is silent, performs extremely well and lasts for years. I would have no other! I can only praise and highly recommend Henry vacuum cleaner.
Our old Henry broke following great service ,so bought new one to replace i
This is by far the best hoover I’ve ever had. Great suction power, light to move around and best of all, no rotating brushes that catch all the hair in them. Can’t rate it highly enough.
I wanted a cordless hover for cleaning the car and after looking and reading countless reviews on car vacuums my husband recommending looking at the cordless Henry. I am so glad I got this, not only did it take 5mins to clean the car, I use it a lot upstairs and for the doing the stairs. We even use Henry when we can’t be bothered to get out our Shark upright!
The battery charges really quickly and with being a cordless I am more conscious of turning it off when I’m not using or swapping out attachments instead of just leaving it running like I would with a corded vacuum.
With his smiling face, its hard not to be happy with him.
Good thing with this cordless is that the attachments fit a corded Henry so If I ever need to get spare parts it will be easy to purchase.
Very happy with Henry and would highly recommend getting one
The wife’s made up with it. We have a upright Dyson but she struggles doing the stairs, this has made life on the stairs much easier for he
Great suction, lightweight and very easy to use, Good value for money and it’s Cute!
That’s literally the best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever had. I was so excited to have my Henry and I’m not disappointed.
This little Henry is excellent, handles well and amazing collecting pet hair, it’s like having new carpets. Very pleased with my purchase.
I love the no fuss rewind action for lead. My last one malfunctioned and would suddenly rewind lead pulling plug from socket on occasion. Henry is very powerful yet not as noisy as some vacuums. Always wanted one and now I have. Hurray! He is so straight forward and uncomplicated yet clever in design.
I very happy with my purchase, does what it suppose to do with great ability.
Much better value than Dyson. Having a cord is a bit annoying but suction power is great as a result and keeps the price dow
I’ve bought a few fancier vacuums that cost alot more. For one reason or another they broke or let me down. So I thought….I’ll buy a Henry until I can find a new one I like, they seem good enough.
To my surprise they are great! Simply put they are straight forward and do the job brilliantly. What a great design. Only down side is it requires bags ( hence 4 not 5), that being said the bags are big and last a long time.
A definite recommendatio
Powerful suction (reminds me of vacuums in the 80s) and better build quality than Dyson vacuums; featuring a conveniently long cable
Very good vacuum cleaner, it’s really really strong enough to shaft all objects from floor.
I highly recommend this one
This is the best hoover I have had! I use it on both carpet and flooring and the suction is really strong. I love the different attachments, it makes everything so much easier. Would Recommend to everyone.
What can you say that hasn’t already been said about the Henry. Absolutely great product, suction is sublime, tools varied and useful for everywhere in the house. I was surprised by the size of it but in a good way. Carpets or hard surfaces ol’Henry does it and does it well. Absolutely quality.
New member of the family
Great little hoover! It’s easy to bring in any part of the house. The suction is great. I’m very happy. Thank you for this produc
Had to look it up. Didn’t know EU reduced wattage so was expecting a bigger hoover.
Having tried various different vacs over the past couple of yrs I decided to try a Henry. It was the best decision I have ever made. Superb in every way and a huge selection of attachments
Have been through a number of same price machines, with having a child, a dog. Had used one of these for years at work, and it gets some real hammer, so decided to buy one for home. These things are bullet proof. Yes its not a sleek looking as a dyson, but then i could by 4 of these for a single dyson. I buy function and reliability over looks. Had a few dysons, and catches snap, and trim comes off, hose breakes and they are expensive to replace. This thing just keeps on working, waiting a good 6 months to review, was not expecting it to break, but wanted to be fair.
Just used it once the floors look lovely and clean , the lead is good length . Its nice and light . And I bought a used one so its a good price .
Only used this item for a few days, but seems good for power and collecting capacity. A little quieter than our old vacuum (but that might have been an age thing re the old model). All good so far.
What can you say about Henry..
He’s always happy to help.
His suction is amazing.
He eats all the stuff other vacuums wont.
He’s robust.
Great value.
Has a long cord that’s easy to rewind.
Can reach areas others can’t.
My husband knows there are three of us in our relationship now and not to make me choose. Buy one.
I have to say my cleaner recommended I buy this Henry Vacuum cleaner after a couple of unsuccessful other products bought that were not very good quality. I am so happy with my Henry and so is my cleaner!! Great for manoeuvrability and sturdy.
It does come with some bags but they can last for quite a while so don’t need changing as often as I thought they would need to. Great product and happy for the recommendation from my lovely cleaner!
Bought for car cleaning and DIY.
Pros: Great suction, large bag capacity, rugged, made in Britain.
Cons: Not an issue for my use, but wife informs me the wand as supplied is not as flexible as some cylinder cleaners for household tasks.
Owned my Henry for just over a year. Perfect for what I bought it for. 6 litre size is manageable in confined areas and still a vast amount of dust capacity. Cleans car interiors and DIY mess in seconds.
After several disappointing cordless vacuum cleaners I have bought Henry. He doesn’t disappoint, he glides over carpets and hard floors and has great suction power. I can’t do the stairs in one go so it’s a few from the top and the rest from the bottom but, it’s not a problem. I would recommend Henry as a first choice.
Brilliant for suction and hair pi k up. Heavy to carry when cleaning stairs.
Famous product that works very well and is most excellent value for money. Only problems are: adjustment of reducing suction power not sufficient, and the (red) adhesive strip to collect hair on the suction end for carpets are insufficient – and could be easily larger and also prvided on some of the other front pieces.
What everyone has said before is absolutely correct. Henry’s suction power is unbelievable. The amount of attachments you get, the durability, and the manoeuvrability is really quite unparalleled. I used Henry to hoover on top of my built in wardrobe and was thrilled at how easily I was able to do so (how easily the hose reached!!). I thought I would hate having a non-upright hoover due to chronic pain/back problems (I thought the bending would be problematic), but I truly don’t even notice—I don’t think I bend any more than I had with a traditional hoover. Like someone else said in the reviews, I too live in a flat and am able to take Henry all around without unplugging him due to his enormous lead. Absolutely love it. 10/10 would recommend.
I’ve had different brands over the years and found them wanting. I’ve seen the Henry range used a lot by industrial and contract office cleaners, and friends who’ve bought one were impressed. Despite having a bag – i.e. not being ‘bagless’, turbo or vortex (or whatever), it seems to out perform all the trendy brands at much higher prices. I asked a lady who works as a cleaner and she said “Yeh, you can’t go wrong wiv an ‘enry”. You can’t get a higher recommendation than that!
It’s a nice vacuum cleaner but does not pick up long hairs from carpets
Great suction, light weight and durable. Its been around for years and its because it is very reliable. Purchased ro replace a dyson which broke down and the suction I think is much better and is less temperamental too. Also really great value, bought it on discount at 99.
When I first got my cordless vacuum I was thrilled it was freedom, in fact I was so happy that I started making excuses for its faults. I convinced my husband to spend nearly 500 on this so surly must be good. It’s bagless so we will save on bags, I would say, trying to convince myself it was a good investment. It’s light so we’ll clean faster (at this point o was just lying). One day my husband at a friends house was introduced to Henry and he was amazed. When our vacuum got to the end of his life, a mere 3,5 y old, my husband convinced me to buy a Henry. He was met with a lot of resistance, the happy face did not inspire confidence, and the cord and hose it was going back in time. Somehow i was convinced and I now consider this a second act on our marriage, I now see my husband as a wise man worthy of trust with looks and brains. Don’t let the happy face fool you. Henry may not come with lasers and lights but is a true cleaning machine. No more complicated maths trying to scan the room for the dirtiest places to start while the suction was still good. Henry will suck the same during the whole cleaning at last true freedom, not the fake perceived freedom of cordless, freedom to clean without fear of loosing power. And when the children make a mess Henry doesn’t get upset, in fact he is happy for a chance to get out of the cupboard, and his happy face helps me to keep it together while I clean the floor for the 10th time that day. I look at him and think if Henry is happy I too can be happy. He is now part of my family and I’ve bought him some new bags as a Christmas prese
You can always rely on a henry hoover. Has great suction. Wish the plug would automatically reel back in.
I’m scared of vacuums like a dog but this works great and is on the quieter side.
Solid suction power. You may want to get some replacement bags with this but I haven’t had to change mine yet and it’s been here months.
Made evil screaming sound initially but this was fixed fast by adjusting the hose.
Friendly smile that warms my heart.
So much suction compared to my old dyson and I love that I can now get under the furniture without having to move it out. Used to have a henry years ago but decided to upgrade to a different make. So glad to go back to him.
It might not be important for some, but where products are made really are a make or break for me, and how I decide what to buy. Even better that the vaccum itself is AMAZING. My mum always had one when I was younger ( she still has one) and I was deciding which vaccum to buy when duh, Henry popped into my mind. Very nostalgic and suction like no other, at a great price. I have 3 cats and other vaccumes just don’t pick up the hair like Henry does. It’s very lightweight but the performance is amazing.
I like that they give you the multi purpose attachment for all floor types as well as the airo so that if you have lots of general mess the multi purpose would be best to preserve the effectiveness of the other one which can also be used day to day too.
Thank you numatic for continuing to produce and innovate in the UK <3
** Important note: I've seen lots of questions asking if you can use it without a bag. According to numatic on the 'myhenry' website it should NOT be used without a bag. You used to be able to not use one and it was marketed as being a choice if you wanted to use one but this isn't the case anymore and hasn't been for years. ( If it didn't affect the health of the newer Henry's motors numatic wouldn't advise against it as more people would buy it if you didn't have to use a bag) but you can get 10 genuine numatic bags for around 9 on Amazon which will last a VERY long time. There's really no excuse not to use bags and genuine ones at that. When you receive the hoover, you receive 1 bag pre installed and 1 spare so 2 in total. So add some to your basket while you're buying this vaccum so that you don't have to worry for 6+ months :). ( There's only 1 type of bag which is handy. They fit in all models of numatic vaccumes so it seems confusing buying bags at first with all the different model numbers etc but they're all the same so don't worry. Also some are green and some are red ( for Henry and Harry) but as I said with different models etc they're the same bag
I read the first few reviews on this product and thought to myself, these reviews are so good they have to be written by the manufacturer. I received my Henry to day and gave it a try. Wow it was as good as the reviews said and I was amazed at the power of such a small vacuum. I had bought a well known cordless vacuum only 10 months ago, and it broke down so many times that I opted to buy this Henry. Only a third of the price of my other vacuum, but far superior cleaning power. Recommend it to anyone.
Great little hoover with an amazingly long cord….it makes it like a cordless as you can do several rooms without moving the plug. Suction is good, not as good as an antique Miele but they don’t make those like they used too !!! Absolutely far better than an awful Dyson where you spend more time encouraging bits up the thing. We have 6 dogs and a rural life, with hard floors, coir and dirt trapper mats and it works great.
I’ve just used my new Henry and, as the review title says, this is the best that I’ve ever had. It’s powerful (more so than any bagless vacuum) and my bedroom carpet has never been cleaner. It even made short work of the cat hairs that my previous vacuum (in this case an actual Hoover) just couldn’t touch. It’s lightweight, has a massive reach with the hose and cylinder and the number of attachments that it comes with is very impressive. Just enjoyed the great pleasure of disposing of my previous vacuum cleaner and I’ll never use anything else other than a Henry again.
I am very happy with my hoover, specially with the additional head which has a spinning brush in it. I think it`s defensively worth to purchase the extra head which is perfect for carpet but I use it for laminated floor as it is easy to push and don`t stuck to the floor and pick up everything. I just realised that you could use effectively the good power from the hoover with this head and the other small heads.
I would have given this a 5star rating as the suction is great but my hoover really smells bad when I use it. I have only used it twice and each time the smell is overpowering; so much so that I have asked for a refund. I do intend to buy another one as soon as I get my refund as I was that impressed with the functionality of this little hoover. Im am hoping the new one will be smell-free.
Previously bought handheld vacuum not much smaller for 35, waste of time & resources. Reputedly a longlife product made in UK. Buy quality save the environment. Lets see how it works out then.
Metal pole has solid feel. Perhaps a telescopic one would be useful. I had one from prior.
Happy at 99 price.
This is without doubt the best hoover I’ve had in years. It’s light powerful and does what it says on the tin. I’ve got a large 4 bedroom house, I plug it in and the hose and wire are long enough to hoover the whole house. I plug it in upstairs and I’m good to go. I feel like I have a friend smiling ( Henry) whilst I’m doing the tedious job of hoovering. Just love it and a great price. Bye Dyson and Co. Welcome henry.
We had our old Henry for 17 years and we thought it had broken so ordered a new one. The manoeuvrability is better and it seems lighter. The suction is fantastic- we had to lower the power for our carpets. Very pleased with it. With a new plug fitted on our old one it works again !! Thoroughly recommend.
Probably the best hoover we’ve owned. No mess and stores away easily. The cables are very long so can be easy to trip over them if not careful.
It is not brilliant for the stairs as the hose isn’t very long so means you have to hold the hoover in one hand and the hose in the other. Not easy as it is quite heavy.
Other than that more than happy with the purchase.
Love it because his not big but very powerful just like me! Lol Seriously, it perfect vacuum for me as light, powerful suction & do awesome job. Although, the delivery man lazy ass he leave it at commonual hall way in my building but lucky enough, I went down to throw rubbish out otherwise this will be lost. It not fault of seller thought; it the lazy driver. Thank you
I’ve had Dyson and Other hoovers with a lot of filters and no bags. Sometimes it’s just better to use something simple to do the job. With more filters on a hoover, there is more chance for them to clog up un-necessarily. This Henry hoover works really well and there is very little to go wrong.
Well I’ve had quite a few different vaccum cleaners, bagged/bagless cheap to high end, and I’ve always felt some disappointment in one way or another.
I hesitated with Henry as it’s bagged and it felt a bit like I would be going backwards, other times I’ve overlooked him because I always thought of him as an industrial type cleaner.
Now I’m still kicking myself for overlooking this brilliant cleaner, it’s powerful, very powerful!, It’s bagged yes but the capacity is huge so you rarely have to think about emptying it and the bags for it are cheap too, it’s easy to pull or carry around, has a nice long lead and it looks pretty cool I think.
And all for a pocket friendly price, I would highly recommend Henry to anyone.
after a few Dyson’s and Gtech i decided against a handheld battery and also i felt a bag was needed. Also didnt like a roller too so this ticked all the boxes. amazing suction and no hairs get stuck in a roller – all goes straight in the big bag which are cheap and last for ages.
cant recommend this enough
The Henry hoover is an excellent peice of kit. I’m really pleased with its ease of use, long easy retractable cord, long hose and useful tools. It does a great job of cleaning up on carpets and hard floors. It is easy to use on the stairs too. The suction is very powerful, yet the noise from the motor is low.
I am a HUGE fan of all Henry vacuum cleaners – I have five!!! All slightly different but all incredibly durable, do the job brilliantly and incredible machines. Had them years for my children, mother-in-law and myself.
This particular machine was a surprise because smaller but packed just as much punch – great suction – incredibly easy to use and store. LOVE it ! Boy this company out performs any hoover/vacuume cleaner on the market – these designers and engineers know what they are doing. Why all professional cleaners I meet (I ran large office buildings and organised huge teams of cleaners – Henry’s were the go to machines.
This small version is brilliant !
Henry is an absolutely amazing little vacuum cleaner, powerful enough for our household needs great on hard floors and carpets, removes all of our very fluffy Schapendoe dog hair from the carpet came with 2 free bags and all the accessories you could need , in my opinion for a modern house and large family with 2 cats and 1 dog and 2 kids still at home, it out performs the silly little rechargeable vacuums and also has a long lead and is light enough to pull around , it maybe an older design but IT WORKS
A nice simple and powerful vacuum cleaner. It loses a star for only having a storage area for two out of the three tools It comes with. A small but annoying flaw. It’s small, light, manoeuvrable.
Henry is great. I find him very easy to use, great suction. I have a mixture of cork tiles and rugs Henry cleans both beautifully. Very easy to use with a long hose and a long flex. I can clean right underneath our king size bed easily. It is great that I can store the small brush attachment on Henry so it is always within reach for ease of use. I loved Henry so much I bought one for my mum, aged 92 whose previous vacuum was over 30 years old and put more dust out the back than it sucked up at the front. She is amazed and delighted with hers “so much suction”. Henry is light and easy to manouvre and has a large capacity dust bag which is very easy to change and the flex rewinds easily back into the lid. He is great, and he is made in Britain.
To be honest I don’t even know where to begin. I think the best place to start would be the reason behind Henry’s adoption. Sadly Dysons decline was fairly sudden, he went from top dog suction master, vet of almost 15 years, to a worn out has been. The enthusiasm for dust and even oose just wasn’t what it used to be. So I made the tough decision to look at a new dust enthusiast.
My search started off with a passing thought of red, I know about the joy I had back a few years ago when I had the pleasure of getting my hands round the mid section of a larger Henry dust meister. He just breezed through the session without even a second thought. So I had a start line for my search I then stumbled Apon this neat little sucker all be it slightly above what I was wanting to initially spend. After all this wasn’t going to be a one night stand, I was commited to the cause and decided that after reading numerous reviews that Henry was in fact the one for me.
Thanks to amazon’s prime service I wasnt subjected to a long wait and he arrived promptly the next day. I did struggle to contain my excitement as the dust and oose build up left by his predecessor was starting to get the better of me. Straight out of the rather small box I found what was to become a solid sturdy little suck piece. With multiple attachments and various shafts thrown in I new I wouldn’t need to use the instructions, they were quickly tossed to the side. This certainly wasn’t my first time and Henry made it so easy with that gracious yet playful little smile, he watched me assemble the parts with ease and haste. Not before long we got down to buisness as there was plenty of real estate to cover given the poor performance of Dyson and by God it was, I want to say magical. You get out what you put in with this sucker. I decided that no flow release would be needed when jumping into the carpets and stairs. I did start to work up quite the sweat as we got into it so I did have to lose my top after only 10 minutes, this did give a bit more freedom during the suction freestyle. After the session was done I assesed the results and was quite gobsmacked. I only wish Henry had came into my life sooner, his compact size and uncompromising attitude towards his work has been second to none. He sits in the corner motionless and always with that playful smile on his face until its ready to get down to buisness again. When relatives come round he breaks out the tie, god knows where he got this thing from, a nice touch I thought and totally unexpected.
To sum it up I would highly recommend his services as he is great company and is a true pro.
There is always this stigma that goes with having a Henry and until now i wouldnt have had one, but it seems everyone has one now, (if they dont they’re stupid), this hoover does exactly what it says it does, i have a house full of animals, 5 cats and now a puppy, and young adults with long hair, so between dust, fur and hair my other hoover never picked up, but Henry has such a powerful suction that it actually lifts the carpet, so it does get down deep, no wonder the cleaning industries use them.GET GET GET, if you havent already, perfect value for money and comes with a bag already attached, and one spare, and accessories, had a very long lead. Once you’ve had a Henry theres no going back. Arrived on time brilliant.
We started our family back in 1997 and ended up by 2003 having 4 sons. Where am I going with this you may wonder, as is it relevant to this review. Hell YES!
Until being gifted our first (albeit, second-hand) Henry hoover back in 2013 we killed vacuumes. Not really sure how or why since we live in an ordinary and fairly small 3-bed semi, with tiled/laminate floors downstairs and good old cheapo cord carpet running up the stairs and in the bedrooms. Okay, we do have pets (cats, dogs and ferrets, which stay downstairs) and, of course, we had the 4 young boys but still, no matter how much we spent (and we even had a top of the range Dyson Animal Ball back in the day when they first came out and were 500+), or what reliable brands and highly recommended vacuum models we purchased, none survived beyond 13- 25 months.
To be clear, I’ve always had to vacuum daily downstairs so our vacuums get used frequently. Our tiles are pale cream and our laminate flooring pale oak so everything dropped or shed shows up. So it’s fair to say that I vacuum regularly, but also that I empty bags (where used) frequently and have never knowingly abused a household vacuum. But, none the less, no vacuum stayed alive much beyond its guarantee period expiring – typical luck.
Then we were gifted our first 9l Henry by a family member in 2013. Wow. Okay, so it’s bulky and not the most fashionable looking of vacuums, but it sucks hard and it goes on and on and on and on Sure, we’ve had to replace the hose attachment a couple of times over the years (which are cheap enough online) but the Henry motor just keeps running and sucking years and years on
Our original second-hand Henry is still going strong and now lives with one of my grown up sons, and we’ve purchased 2 of the smaller sized Henry’s more recently (the 6l/650w version) and keep one upstairs and one down. I like that this new Henry I just bought on Amazon has an onboard clip for the long hose to attach to when not in use. Not entirely sure whether our older Henry’s did but it’s a bonus to be able to clip the hose to the base of the Henry and have its generously long hose more conveniently stowable.
I’ve not used the lower wattage Henry so can’t really comment on that model or compare it to the 650w ones we use, but if you’re looking for a real tough workhorse of a vacuum, that can withstand use waaaaay beyond every other vacuum, plus tolerate the occasional running with its wheels in the air (upside down) or even being dropped down a few steps, this is the vacuum for you. I can’t recommend highly enough. Honestly.
Henry is now my favourite cleaning buddy! I can drag him around from room to room, the cable pulls out as I go and the hose is long enough for those tricky jobs at height! I find that the various heads can cover all the cleaning tasks around the house – wooden floors (mostly), tiles, and carpets. I even considered getting rid of our upright vacuum cleaner which we mainly use now for the bedroom carpets, but I think that is slightly easier to use than the Henry with its turbo head.
One small issue that we have found is that the tubes, whilst easily fitted together, also twist too easily and I do need to adjust them regularly (especially with certain tools fitted). I suspect that some tape around the joint would solve it but then make it harder to stow away.
It is easy to store and light enough to take up into our roof space – which was one of its first tasks. It did an excellent job.
The disposable bag is both good and bad. Good for hygiene regions but bad for landfill.
There’s no other vacuum like this one, in my opinion. Before my Henry, I was buying two or three vacuums a year at 40 a pop and they’d eventually blow up; I’m a bit OCD and vacuum every day. So, I decided to buy myself a Henry for 100 and the investment was worth it. My last one lasted about 5 years, but now it’s got some sort of shortage; probably easily fixable, but not to a simpleton like me. My dad has currently got it and I hope he can fix it. In the meantime, I bought this one to replace it. It’s smaller and less powerful than my other one, but I think that’s down to the EU or something. It’s still more powerful than any other vacuum I’ve used and I like how you can store the accessories on the back of the vacuum without them getting in the way; couldn’t do that on my old one, so makes them easily accessible, whereas before I’d have to root around in my cupboard to find them. 10/5 for this vacuum – I’d recommend it to anybody.
After taking him out of box was really easy to put together. The long cable is brilliant. Motor quiet, suction great. The length of the hose and pipes are so good to get to the cobwebs. So far 10 out of 10. Only 1 thing that I find difficult is separating the hose from tubes.
What more can I say. Henry is for me the best British hoover there is. Good strong suction unlike the others that just push the bits about. All it’s tools on board so it’s all stores away nice and tidy. I wouldn’t buy any other hoover as they’re a waste of money. Get a Henry and get the job done first time and a good job done. Highly recommend.
I’ve got 2 Dyson hoovers that are so heavy to cart around especially upstairs, so I figured I would give Henry a go and I’m so pleased I did. This hoover is built very well, and the suction is great. I bought the 6 litre model because I do not have a huge house and this hoover is just perfect. Plenty of attachments, lightweight to pull around. Great on the stairs, what more can I say, I wished I bought one earlier. I got a really good price on Amazon and it was free post and delivered quickly, so I’m happy. If you are thinking about getting a Henry, then go for it, I’m glad I did.
Had one of these years ago and ditched it for an alternative cordless well known make……had some very dirty jobs to do and could think of nothing better….hey presto Henry did the job perfectly. It is simple to use, the dust bags hold lots of debris and then replace.
an excellent product that has been going for years and can be relied upon.
I remember when my mum had an old cylinder vacuum cleaner. It sucked at one end and blew out other. The Henry is an upright version of that. It’s has has strong suck, is manoeuvrable, and has a power lead that lets you do most of a floor in one go. Forget all the fancy ones, get a simple suck and blow!d
I have a problem. I buy a lot of vacuums. If it has a new feature or its got a fancy advert I buy it. I currently have a Vax blade and a shark corded stuck and a robot and have probably had most over the years. Problem is they all need so much effort. The bun needs constantly emptying or there’s always a blockage or the rollers are wrapped up in hair I have to cut off. Gross! I spend more time sorting the vacuum than it takes me to actually vacuum.
Husband was fed up. He wanted a Henry. I did not want a Henry. It’s old school and there’s nothing fancy about it. There’s no gadgets or functions. It’s literally just a vacuum.
How wrong was I? This little beast is amazing. Best suction power of all the Hoover’s I’ve had put together (unfortunately it has sucked up the hall carpet from the corner). You simply turn it on in the middle of the room and all the dirt comes running towards it. Zero effort, light, simple, easy. On and off. No turbo. No unblocking hair rollers. It’s amazing. It’s not as easy to maneuver as a stick and it’s harder on the stairs but I he’s become part of the family so we can forgive him for this.
For some strange reason our dog is totally in love with him. I frequently find her laying by his side.
Info bits : comes with a bag inside and a spare bag. 4 attachment bits that slot into the back of Henry for storage. Handle very long (or im short) but easy to take a section out for me or the kids to use. Works fab on dog hair. Just change the bottom bit to brush instead of the hard floor setting and it picks them all up.
Recommended hugely from our household.
I’ve had a 9 Ltr two speed version years ago and it was great. The 6 Ltr version is smaller, one speed, and much easier to store plus it has slots to store four tools on the back. The main hose and head slots in there upright as well making it much easier to store than the old version. There is no loss of suction with the 6 Ltr, plus the bag is exactly the same size so holds the same capacity as the 9 Ltr.
Suction-wise, it pulls the carpet up like my old two-speed one on high power. You can reduce the suction by twisting the air flow valve which I need to do on my newest carpet.
What I like about all Henrys, including this one, is the power cord is really long and easily unwinds as I work. There is a winding handle to wind it all in again after vacuuming. It’s a doddle!
The large capacity bag takes ages to fill up, even with daily use. I’m into my third month of using it now after purchase and the bag still isn’t full.
The only downside of all Henrys is that there is no locking mechanism for the tools while in use. They are all push fit and can occasionally slip off in use. The flip side I suppose is that they are quicker to slip on and off.
Highly recommended to newbies, Henrys pick up everything big and small!
My daughters have been nagging me to get one of these so now I have. It’s so much easier and fuss free compared to all the heavy and over engineered Dysons I’ve bought over the years. Henry glides faithfully behind. Suction is excellent. The bag is really big so I shouldn’t think it needs replacing for quite a while. It was cheaper on Amazon too. Win, win all the way!
Henrys have been my vacuum of choice for more than twenty years. I have never had one fail on me even through several house renovations and all the clearing up these entail. For a newby though I guess buying a Henry could be daunting as there are many options. This Henry is smaller than my last one which is perfect as it gets stored under a day bed so fits with ease. The motor watts have been reduced due to green issues so I was worried it may have lost some of the suction power I am used to. But no and although I do not have a rocker switch to select the suction high or low it has not proved to be an issue. However I do not like the larger turbo head that comes with it. I am sure it would be fine if you had only hard floors but I have a large wool rug in the lounge and dirt barrier rug in my utility room. I found the head that comes with Henry was pushing the dog fluff around on the barrier rug. I found I could only collect fluff on the pull stroke. I purchased, for just 6.29 on Amazon a replacement head from Lazer Electrics. It is great for both hard floor and carpet and takes a lot less effort on carpet. It is smaller and gets into corners more easily. I am delighted with Henry’s smaller brother and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who has delved into the world of Dysons and found them unreliable and lacking in performance and reliability. It is an excellent hard working vacuum and the brand is so reliable.
My last vacuum cleaner was a Henry and lasted over 25 years.
My new Henry does not disappoint. – In fact an improvement on his predecessor.
Lighter and smaller, so easier to carry or drag around.
Important to me as I am now in my late 70s and not as strong or agile as I was 25 years ago.
A truly wonderful product. – That’s why so many hotels and tradespeople swear by them.
My congratulations to the manufacturers.

I don’t think you can beat a Henry for design and quality but my order lost a star because it definitely makes a difference having no booster switch. This was bought for a relative and I definitely notice a difference between mine (which has the booster switch and is an older design) and this one which doesn’t. The sucking power is not as great. But still a fab vacuum cleaner.
Having bought so many “great” hoovers in the past, we finally opted for one that cost a bit more than we would normally pay. Was it worth the money? Absolutely! This is a very powerful, lightweight and easy to manoeuvre hoover. Stong suction, easily picked up hairs and other normally tough to get bits. Another plus is that you can store its accessories on the hoover as well. Can’t fault it, my advice to anyone is it’s definitely worth paying that little extra for. 5 stars all the way!

I had thought that with the ‘new Green’ guidelines this ‘Henry’ would not be as good as the old one I had relied on for many years. I was mistaken! It is every bit as good and at the moment, at least, better – sucking up dust and dog hairs alike.
I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it, not only on its ability to do its job but the reasonable price too.
I have used Henry Hoovers for many years of my life as they have great suction power and I have never felt the need for any other capability from a vacuum! Also I have found very little goes wrong with them and they carry on working for years. However nowadays with encroaching age (in my 70s) I found the one I already owned to be very heavy and bulky to carry up and down stairs. So I decided to buy a 2nd one for use upstairs where I have all laminate flooring.
This is a lower wattage than the 1,200W Henry Pneumatic I have downstairs, where I have some carpets and rugs. However I find the 650W motor gives me adequate suction power for the efficient cleaning of laminate but I have not tried it on any rugs or carpets.
So if you want a long lasting, efficient vacuum cleaner, I would always recommend a Henry (or Harry, Hetty etc). Both models that I own are easy to move on their wheels when in use. However if you have stairs and have difficulty carrying heavy, bulky items this may not be for you.
For the past few years I have been using cordless vacuum cleaners, which are okay up to a point – obviously, not having to have them plugged in but I have found that they are just not so good at cleaning. They are messy to empty and a pain if the charge runs out part way through the clean.
So I decided to get a Henry – wow! I rarely have it on full suction because it is so powerful. It is great at cleaning deep into the carpets, the extension poles means that I can reach up high to remove cobwebs and the extra long lead means that I can clean the whole floor from one socket. And as there is a contained bag – no dust flying all over the place when it is emptied. Well please and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
After years of buying hovers that didn’t last long or the cable was too short. I decided to but this Henry hover. It’s a pleasure to do the hovering now. I choose this Henry over the cheaper one as this comes with all the tools you need. And it takes nine litres before you need to change the bag. I brought a extra ten original Henry hover bags as I wasn’t sure if you received one with hover. But I’m pleased to say you get two hover bags with it. They are great no mess. Simply remover the paper bag and push the tab in on the bag and throw it away. My mother in law got a Henry hover but hers is the 6 litre model and she has a cloth bag in hers it’s so hard to empty. I much prefer the throw away bags.
It dos have different power stages you turn the level on the handle. It’s great for picking up dog hair. We have a Rottie and when she malts you could make another dog out of all the hair. Henry picks it up with easy.
Everyone should own a Henery. I love it and all the tools fit on the back of the hover. So they are easy to reach if needed.
I highly recommend this hover to anyone. I can see this lasting us years. And the hover has 10 meters of cable plenty to do two large rooms without unplugging it.
Awesome.
