Definitely worth getting. Hours and hours of entertainment to be had from this game, due to the plethora of different approaches you can take to the missions. Chose to get it brand new from Amazon in order to get the DLC, which you wouldn’t get second hand.
I’m a bit of a fan of the Hitman series and this is a brilliant game. Loads of ways of completing each mission make this replayable time after time.
Having no played Hitman since Absolution on the XBox 360, I was fairly nervous going into this game. Must say I was delighted to see Hitman returned to form. I might buy the previous instalment (I was put off by the episodic nature of it, which HITMAN 2 doesn’t have) and the next. Excellent, fun game with great gameplay and very creative ways to eliminate targets.
Spent the whole of lockdown glued to this game. Fantastic work by IO.
First game arrived and there was sound but just a black screen, very odd! Very easy process for returning and amazon had sent out a new game that arrived the very next day, fantastic service. Can’t comment on the actual game but the son seems to enjoy it.
I enjoyed the last Hitman game, but this one is even better. The levels are busy and interesting. Several different ways to finish each level. The world is your oyster. Very enjoyable game.
Classic Hitman, much the same as every other game in the series.
Third-person assassin game, with ingenious ways to complete missions (which can be done in hundreds of different ways).
Downside is that it’s a very short game, better suited for ‘trophy collector’s’ who will want to reply the missions over and over (not my cup of tea..) there are only about 4 main missions.
This game is awesome! A major improvement from the first one
Grate no problems just like It was like on the photo disc was not broke like I thoughts it be
Really enjoyed this game. A few new features to the previous Hitman games.
Hitman 2 is a very fun experience that offers you six large levels with hundreds of NPC’s and dozens and dozens of ways of assassinating your targets. Your goals are always simple but the steps to reaching them range from straight up shooting, strangling, and poisoning to the more entertaining accident kills. You can for instance make someone be eaten by a hippo, or entomb them in concrete in a construction site.
The worlds are very nice looking too. The locales you operate in are diverse and colourful with wide-ranging and well thought-out level architecture . The characters populating them have good dialogue. It pays of to overhear conversations as that often opens up new paths to eliminating your targets. Each level is designed to be played multiple times over to discover new and twisted ways for killing the morally corrupt targets.
Unfortunately, the experience is marred by a few short-comings. First of all, the game needs to be played always online. If you don’t have an internet connection or you don’t approve of sharing your information with the server then your game will only be half-available. You will get no rewards like new weapons from playing the missions. This is a big annoyance for privacy-conscious gamers like me. Moreover, because the game partly loads information from the server loading times are rather long. This is bothersome as I often found myself wanting to quickly reload a previous save after a botched attempt or to see a different outcome for a specific action. Since loading takes a long time it somewhat diminished my overall enjoyment. Finally, the story is barely there. It doesn’t have a gripping plot line or good cutscenes between missions (the story is told via still images with a voice-over). The lack of interesting world-building and story reduces my long-term interest in a game.
Nonetheless, Hitman 2 is a lot of fun in the gameplay department. It encourages exploration, offers up each objective as a riddle to be solved by observing an listening to your surroundings, and had a refreshingly dark sense of humour.
Haven’t played this one myself but my son assured me that it’s great and he still plays it after a long time
I love hitman 2, I’ve played all the hitman games since hitman 2 silent assassin, blood money, contracts, and of course hitman 2016. I’m so glad that Warner bros, had give IO interactive a chance to make a sequel, they did such a good job I love hitman 2.
A difficult game on anything other than casual difficulty but a very creative one. in fact i’d call it a puzzle solver.
Hours of content. Well worth the money from a detailed and adult game. Superb. Highly recommended!
he price i paid was good, well sealed ps4 game. i’m happy with the product, thank you seller.
My nephew explained that this was much better than the first.
So much detail to levels, very challenging and excellent gameplay.
This game is a fantastic game. It moves on from the story of hitman so you will need to play that to understand a few aspects of the story. The maps are extremely large and detailed with new obstacles and challenges at every corner. I really like the sniper mode but unfortunately it’s a bit lacking in missions etc. The game is short but you do need to replay it in order to get every outcome possible which makes it very interesting.
I had Hitman 1 but only played it once – 1 kill and moved on. Having 1 and 2 is brilliant (note only works if you have played 1 already) and I played many levels over and over experimenting different kills. Options to follow an objective can be turned on and off which is good when you are stuck, turn it on and then off.
Absolutely love the hitman series. Amazing games and hours of fun.
More of the same goodness as from the predecessor, five great new levels/missions and a multiplayer which is really addictive, all in all very much worth your money !
Really good game. Always been a fan of the franchise and this does not disappoint.
If you’re a fan of hitman you won’t be disappointed. Beautiful graphics, great level story is so so but then it’s pretty good in general terms.
I never played the original Hitman games, I think I played a demo once however was instantly put off by the control system and never touched one of the games since. Skip to the last game which used to be published by Square-Enix controversially episodically which had a lot of people frustrated. I never really jumped onto this bandwagon until IO dropped Square-Enix and instantly dropped the game of the year addition to a price which was hard to ignore.
I really enjoyed that game and wanted more of the same from Hitman 2 which I am pleased to say I got. The setup is still the same as the first just new missions and ways to complete them. Every Hit has multiple ways of completing them with given challenges and then a horde of optional missions. The thing I love about the game is the weekly missions which gives you only one opportunity to complete and should you fail than there are no retries my friend!
I wouldn’t say there is anything mind-blowing over the first game, the missions are mostly bigger locations however the format is pretty much the same. Watch a target enough and you will find a whole host of different ways to take them out although there are some missions where you only have a limited time to complete certain challenges before they are lost and these provide a little more urgency which can lead to entertaining mistakes.
It won’t take you long to play through the game from start to finish completing the basic missions however should you want to try for all the challenges you will be at it for some time.
Controversially I actually prefer the idea of releasing the game episodically as it forces you to play all the different options for each hit instead of giving you the ability to sail through the story. I defiantly played the first game a lot more than I did the second, but then again Red Dead 2 came out not long after I bought it.
Item arrived on time partner loves the game and I love the gift wrap choice it came and looked really cute
Un juego muy bueno y a buen precio. Con la ventaja que tiene amazon de llegar antes de la fecha de entrega
Ot as replayable as the first season but still a great game eith loads of differebt aproaches for taking out a target stealthy or with a boom.
Bought this as a gift for my bf and he loved it! Well packaged 🙂 thank you !
A gift for my son in law. He appeared to like it but I can’t say much more
I did enjoy this game but there were a couple of issues for me. First off, once again you’re punished if you don’t have the internet. The disc includes 4 levels with 4 story cutscenes but the last 2 missions you have to download specially so you’re missing out on the story. I looked it up online and there was about 15 or so minutes of story that we are denied just for not being online. I think this is a poor way to treat fans. I know a lot of people have then internet these days but it would be nice if they included the whole story for everyone considering we all pay the same amount but a fraction of us miss out on the true ending of the game.
My second niggle is the cutscenes themselves. I play Hitman for the missions but I always enjoy the cutscenes. Watching 47 interact with various people or different characters telling their story was very engaging. In this game the cutscenes are made up of still drawings with the voice artists giving full dialogue over them. It’s ok and I get that they maybe had to do it after the split so the budget was probably less, but it just wasn’t the same. The story itself was still very enjoyable (although, like I say, furious I missed out on the real ending).
The game itself looks great! 47 no longer looks as young as he did in Hitman 1, which was a bit of a shame because he looked very handsome lol, but looked much more like an older 47. The graphics can only be described as beautiful in some places. The controls are great so far and gameplay was very smooth. I finished all the missions in about 4 hours but I was using the hints mode to get the story and I plan on going back and completing all opportunities and exploring the levels which I think will take me many days. The AI seems vastly more intelligent than in 1 which is a little annoying at times as they pick up on things you don’t even realise are suspicious until they are arresting or shooting you.
Overall, a good game. I prefer the first one at the moment because it felt more fluid and engaging whereas this one feels a little disjointed. In the first few hours of playing it also force stopped itself once and had sound issues another time forcing me to load an earlier save which solved the problem.
Hitman 2 (which is actually like the 10th in the series) is a great game. It drops you right into the world of Agent 47 and let’s you mostly do things your way. If you own Hitman (2016) on either disc or digital you can use Hitman 2 to download the “Hitman Legacy” add on. Legacy is every mission from the 2016 Hitman game, remastered and accessed within the menu of Hitman 2. A great little touch. For this price you’re getting an awesome game.
Agent 47 returns in IO Interactives Hitman 2 – The direct sequel to 2016’s episodic Hitman title. Whether you’re in it for the thrill, kill or both, does 47’s latest outing introduce anything new to the series, or are we in for more of the same?
I’ve been a fan of the Hitman series ever since I first played Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, way back on the PS2. Also, for some clarification, 2018’s Hitman 2 isn’t a reboot, remake or re-imagining of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. It’s simply the sequel to 2016’s Hitman title, featuring the very same Agent 47 we all know and love.
This time around however, Hitman 2 is the complete package and no longer sold in episodes. With the exception of 2016’s release, Hitman has always been a standalone title and so in a sense, Hitman 2 goes back to its roots and to how I feel every Hitman title should remain to be. Sure, we live in a day and age where DLC is often a large part of a titles lifecycle, but it’s not essential to the experience and this is something I feel Hitman 2 embraces.
Shifting to the main plot, David Bateson and Jane Perry (Hitman Season 1) once again reprise their roles as Agent 47 and Diana Burnwood respectively, delivering what can only be described as a fantastic performance once more. Perry makes for a far more mature Diana this time around, while Bateson once again flawlessly carries that cold-hearted killer demeanour within his voice, delivering one of the most believable experiences to date.
What I wasn’t so keen on was the lack of real cutscenes this time around. Perhaps this is due to IO’s recent departure from Square-Enix, possibly even due to a lack of funds, but this time around we get what is essentially a set of high end artwork with the occasional camera panning. The outstanding voiceovers serve to keep you engaged, but without it, I feel the experience would be lessened considerably. Then again, we play Hitman for its interesting and creative ways to tackle each target, not for its cutscenes or overarching plot.
In total, there are six missions within Hitman 2 and while that may seem short to some, it’s the exact same number of missions given in season 1. Plus, there are so many new and interesting ways of taking out your targets, you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice and in some cases you won’t even need to deal with your hits personally.
Have you ever wanted to dress up as a flamingo mascot, taking on a photoshoot in front of a crowd of people before strangling your target in the same said costume? Have you ever wanted to dress up as a cupcake baker to deliver poisoned muffins to a nasty old man? How about a cultist, carrying out a ritual in front of a crowd of snooty onlookers? That’s all here and more, providing what I’d describe as one of the best experiences the Hitman series has to offer. The final level is like trying to penetrate a heavily armed fortress. The difficulty is not something to be laughed at and will undoubtedly give you a huge sense of satisfaction when tackling the game on Master difficulty (suit only – you know you want to).
Like the previous game, there are a number of easter eggs and silly escape routes to find and utilise within each level. If you were looking for some training beforehand, IO have used the same training levels from the previous Hitman, only with Hitman 2’s new features. Some might call this lazy, but I’m really okay with it, seeing as it’s a very functional way to train players up before taking on their main objectives.
Adding to this, you can now silently take out non-targets with the new tranquilizer gun, which serves only to expand 47’s ever-increasing arsenal. The last change I’d like to mention, though only subtle, is that any doors you exit will now remain unlocked, meaning you can move about freely without the worry of accidentally locking yourself out. This was something that always seemed a little silly to me in the previous title of 2016.
As mentioned above, Hitman 2 has received a number of upgrades which now feature crowd blending (which works similarly to that of the earlier Assassins Creed titles), picture in picture, the returning sniper briefcase and much improved AI system. Enemies are also now aware of your reflection, making life a little more difficult for 47, but at the same time, a lot more believable. Picture in picture is a handy mechanic that allows you to see certain actions of your targets and other living obstacles in real time. It’ll show you when a body is found and when your primary targets are carrying out specific actions, also completely removing the need to hang around to watch your orchestrated kills take place, instead showing their death within this new window as you’re presumably on your way to the nearest exit for that ever elusive Silent Assassin rank.
If you own either the complete first season of Hitman or the Legacy Pack, you’ll be happy to know these missions have received a massive overhaul and feature all of the system upgrades of Hitman 2, giving you a reason to re-play all previous missions, and best of all this has been included for free, as a thankyou for your previous support. If you’re a dedicated fan of the series, this is great news for you, and something I hope to see other developers include going forward. IO really seem to care about their community, which is something of a rarity these days.
Many of you have undoubtedly heard by now, but those of you who purchased Hitman 2 on/shortly after release should be familiar with the Mark Faba elusive contract. Playing out as a rather entertaining way to kill Sean Bean (aka Mark Faba), players around the globe were given one chance to take this man out in what I’d describe as the most entertaining elusive contract to date. The contract has since ended, but in completing it, players were rewarded with the exploding pen – an iconic device familiar to Goldeneye fans everywhere.
In addition to the main story, there are several extra gameplay features that add a considerable amount of replayability to what I’d describe as the best Hitman title yet. These are Sniper Assassin mode and Ghost mode.
Sniper Assassin mode – Currently limited to a single map, this mode has you taking out a number of targets from range. Like the campaign, there are a list of challenges to complete, giving you a reason to return to this otherwise simple map. The objective is to take out each guard along with three more important designated targets. How you go about this is largely up to you, but challenges include shooting targets into bodies of water and using the environment to create a number of convenient accidents, all while trying your hardest to ensure no body is discovered, else there’s a high chance your high profile targets will escape, Missed targets cost you points, as does shooting innocents, but thankfully 47 is a professional killer…
Ghost mode – This mode adds a lot of fun to an already great game. Though incredibly functional, this is in Beta format as IO are still currently working on it. The idea is there are two agents trying to kill the same target, only anything a player does in their own world has no effect on the other players world. It’s simply a case of who can hit their target first. There are of course rules to this type of game, but they’re simple enough – 1. Kill your target without being seen to gain a point. 2. If your opponent kills the target, you have 20 seconds to also kill the target, else you’ll miss your opportunity. 3. The player with the most points wins. In typical Hitman fashion, you may kill your target in any way you see fit, and there are a number of crates that pop up for you to loot along the way, granting you access to a number of useful tools for each hit.
Of the two modes, I found Ghost mode to be the most enjoyable and though I came close to losing a couple of times, I won every game I played. It’s certainly a satisfying experience, but I’ll tell you now – finding a game where the other player doesn’t quit out early (once they know they can’t win) is a little difficult. You’re still awarded the experience you obtained up to the point the other player left, but you seem to receive more for a completed run, making it a little difficult to obtain the full rewards for a completed run. This somewhat cheapens the mode, but it really just comes down to bad sport, and having not left a game myself, it’s hard to tell if the offending players are punished in any way.
Hitman 2 has a lot of content and going by IO’s December road map, is due a lot more. I’ve included the list for you below:
“Welcome to December in HITMAN 2 — a month full of content that will give you new challenges and new rewards. Each week, you’ll be able to play something fresh and new, including a holiday surprise! Here’s a full look at everything that’s coming your way in December!
December 6 — Occupational Hazards
To kick things off, we’ve cherry-picked 5 Featured Contracts to be added to the game. All Featured Contracts are created by members of the community and then added to the game for all players to enjoy. For HITMAN 2, we will pick our Featured Contracts based on themes — and the first is ‘Occupational Hazards’, as all contracts are focused on jobs, occupations and professions. Later this month, we’ll share information on the theme for January and how you can submit your contracts to be included.
December 13 — The Aelwin Augment
Escalation Contracts focus on your skills as Agent 47 and how you can adapt your playstyles to the various complications that we can throw your way. Escalations are not necessarily about immersion, but definitely give you a gameplay challenge. Our second Escalation Contract (we’ve already released one in Santa Fortuna!) takes you to Isle of Sgail and we think it’ll be a memorable visit.
December 18 — Surprise!
A time-limited holiday surprise awaits you on December 18 for a limited time
December 21 — The Revolutionary
A new Elusive Target will arrive in Santa Fortuna for 10 days and you’ll be able to unlock the Casual Tourist with gloves suit if you manage to complete it. Check our Elusive Target Rewards blog post for a full overview of the ET rewards. We’ll tell you more about this contract at a later date.
December 27 — The Turms Infatuation
We wrap up the month (pun intended) with an Escalation in Santa Fortuna. Enjoy!”
Overall, Hitman 2 is one of the best titles the series has to offer, if not the best. There are so many satisfying ways to take out your targets this time around that you’ll always have a reason to come back for more. The soundtrack is fitting, the graphics are the best to date, and with player assigned contracts still included, along with the new multiplayer Ghost mode and constant dev support, you’ll want to keep Hitman 2 in your possession for a long time coming.
The new gameplay features serve to spice things up and with a dedicated roadmap of free future content, if Hitman 2 isn’t at the top of your Christmas wish list already, it should be and you never know, maybe we’ll even get to assassinate Santas pesky little Elves come December 18th. Don’t worry though – If previous content is anything to go by, you’ll have a two week window to accomplish this!
Hitman 2 is a stealth game series developed by IO Interactive and involves users being tasked at following assignments to kill specific targets around the map. This instalment is widely open based compared to its 2016 prequel making up more unique approaches and interactions to feel like you are an assassin. Overall gameplay mechanics and movement feel eerily similar to Hitman 1 but there are still improvements that are widely noticeable such as visual effects feel more natural and immersive. Furthermore, the fan favourite weapon of briefcase has been added meaning you can easily smuggle in large items into restricted areas and take down your target.
Story telling aspects of the game do need more improving upon as they involve still image cutscenes, compared to high quality cinematics in other games. Hitman 2 was built using the same excellent engine and design as its 2016 prequel meaning you can continue to enjoy and experience smooth gameplay. Changes have been implemented in this game that make a huge difference, first the ability to blend into crowds undetected and also the functional mirrors where NPCs can see you sneaking behind. A multiplayer mode has been included where you can challenge a friend to see who can finish a mission the fastest or also compete in against them in sniping.
All of the missions in the game are available when you first launch up meaning you can easily settle into and explore any new maps like the racetracks and jungle without having to wait hours to unlock. The graphics has improved slightly over Hitman 1 (for example the adjustment of lighting and water effects) but still would seem indistinguishable to non-gamers. Overall Hitman 2 is a very enjoyable game that gives you another half of the puzzle that Hitman 1 was missing to make it complete. As you constantly progress you are rewarded based upon your critical thinking and ability to adapt to new approaches and difficulties. Lastly I have to say that Sean Bean is in this game meaning you get to test you skills against a Hollywood star.
Great follow up to the last Hitman. Only started it but so far I am really enjoying Hitman 2
One of the best games of the last 10 years, and possibly my favourite PS4 game since Alien Isolation.
The classic Hitman formula is back: Here’s a simple objective: kill this bloke/woman. Do it anyway you can. Get out.
Such great variety on offer, wide open missions with complete freedom in how you do it – just be sure to play on Master difficulty or at least go in the options and turn all the help off – otherwise the joy of figuring cool assassination methods will be spoiled by the dumb-dumb friendly info bombardment.
There’s an elegance to Hitman, a certain subtlety that other games do not possess, and sadly, that many people do not understand or appreciate. Buy this wonderfully crafted, obsessively detailed game, and enjoy one of the most unique stealth/action series ever made.
