Extraordinary game. Similar but superior to the first which if you loved you’ll adore this. Aloy should go down in video game history alongside the legends such as Mario, Sonic and Lara Croft.
its so good!! i wish they’d kept some of the features from previous game (unlocking unlimited fast travel) but the new machines are really cool. i also wish you could save in the main base but that’s okay. all the flaws are not worth dropping a sta
Everything about this game is excellent, just like the first game, which leads me to my only criticism, this is just more of the same but with better visuals and much more likeable characters. If you liked the first game you’ll love this and vice versa.
However I was slightly disappointed a number of times. Although Guerilla have put a lot of effort into giving gamers what they want they have also taken away. The new mounts for example, totally pointless, once overidden they act exactly the same as a regular mount. e.g The fire bristleback ,I was excited to finally get a fire breathing mount but once overidden it seems that this ability is lost and its back to spin round or rear up mode exactly the same as regular mount . The Sunwing is great to fly but gets tedious after a while as Aloy can’t even use her bow, you just fly around, that’s it, may as well ride a regular mount. Thankfully the new water sections are a great addition and not being limited to how long you can stay under water is a great idea, however, here Guerilla have taken away the ability to fight the machines you just swim away and hopefully hide. The game doesn’t deserve a 1 star review but even with some bells and whistles it lacks a compelling story which also, although left for a followup ends rather abruptly. Hopefully these issues will be addressed in the next game.
Bought this for my partner on release day. He loves it! Decent game and nice extra perks for release day! Got him the ps4 version as it’s free upgrade to ps5 and much cheaper!
The gameplay, graphics and sound are all exceptional some of the dialogue can be pointless and drawn out but over all an impressive game and well worth a play through
The game itself is beautiful, theres been a number of glitches like machines being stuck underground and aloy not moving hopefully these will be patched. The storyline is okay but not as good as the first one i found myself getting bored and stopping a fewtimes but pushing myself to finish i
If you like the first one you will definitely love this game. It’s exactly like the first one controls
Are not so bad just abit different with new stuff.
If you liked Horizon Zero Dawn you’ll love this sequel. Great gameplay and story mode is really good to whisk through the story line without much difficulty. Be warned though, the game is huge and will keep you engaged for days, if not weeks!
Loved the first one and not disappointed with the second game either. Hours and hours of gameplay and the side missions don’t feel too repetitive or samey. Aloy and her mission is a great character and storyline to keep you interested and the machines are formidable adversaries. I think I’m getting close to the end, but delaying it by doing as many of the side missions as possible. The only thing I don’t like about the game is the little side game ‘Strike’. I usually like these little asides, loved playing Gwent in Witcher 3, but Strike doesn’t interest me so I don’t play it, which likely means I won’t achieve 100% completion. Oh well.
Couple of things that are a bit sloppy like reactions in certain situations and a bit overboard on what you have to do to acquire certain things like with the Overdrives unlike the first game you just visit Cauldrons, now you do that and then need the parts on top for a machine at the base. Otherwise it’s absolutely stunning both background and gameplay, so unique to the rest of games so recommend both this and the first one Zero Daw
Love love love this game. Once I discovered horizon i’ve played nothing else since! The graphics are amazing, the views in game are stunning and there’s so much to explore and do! Would highly recommend to everyone to try it out!
A decent enough sequel but with quite a few steps in the wrong direction. The upgrade system and skills tree is just bonkers. And as a casual player the weapons system is just too confusing, convoluted and ultimately irritating. I am at level 20 and so far have not been able to acquire a ropecaster. And the tripcaster is no longer much good. So, for most of the game so far, I’ve just been using the hunter bow. It seems that unless you are prepared to put in some serious time playing regularly, then this game is not so great. Imo, nowhere near as much fun as the first. Not even sure I’ll bother finishing it at this rate.
Update: now at level 45 and the combat system is still a confusing bloated mess. You still have to be tactical but, unfortunately not in the same satisfying way as in the original game.
I have only played it for a few hours so far but loved every minute of it. It is very intuitive and guides you along as you go. Can’t wait to get further into it.
What to say?! This game is the continuation of the first chapter, but with extra machines, a new set skills, new weapons, new missions. A must for the fans of Aloy and her story.
Amazing sequel. Improves in every way. Once you get used to the new gaming mechanics it a breeze.
Some of the battles are quite tough. Expect normal mode to be slightly harder then what you normally expect.
Great story, amazing gameplay! Plenty of weapons, tools and skills at your disposal. The size of the map is perfect and there’s a good diversity for the missions and tasks.
I loved the first one and this one is even better. I can actually see it reach a trilogy in a few years.
The only glitch I experienced was sometimes when going inside the base, I would open a door, take a step forward and then fall through the floor and into the abyss. Everything else run smoothly, without any issues.
I was a bit disappointed that at the end there wasn’t any legendary weapon or armour as an achievement for completing the final main mission.
I loved the first one and was itching to get my hands on this and it didn’t disappoint. The main story is much bigger in scope this time around and the scale of side missions and quests is amazing. Visually it’s better as well, even though I’m running it on a PS4 and I only ran into bugs twice that were resolved with a simple restart.
The map is massive, there’re so many places to see and things to do that you’ll be at this a while. The facial animations of charters are better and they are a bit more nuanced; while side missions are better than main missions in some other games! Overall, there is a lot to like about this game and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
But I only gave it four stars for a reason. I found two game mechanics that were disappointing. Firstly, there are just too many weapon options and the leveling up system for them is tedious; no sooner have you done one, you find a better version of that weapon and have to start all over again. The first game did this much better.
But far and away the biggest complaint I have about this game, is the climbing. The ability to climb walls and cliffs using the focus was great and the extra tools Aloy has to interact with the environment around her are a great addition. But trying to get Aloy to move in the right direction while climbing at times or move just a bit to one side on a ledge were horrendously frustrating. I lost count of the number of times I died cause she fell instead of jumping or went left instead of right. The first game let you climb with confidence, it was crisp and smooth in its movement.
Did this stop me enjoying the game? No, not even close. There was simply too many other things that were done so well, the incredible world building they’ve done is just a joy to wander through and I’ve spent more than a few hours doing just that.
The art is breathtaking and I’m loving being back in Aloy’s world. Gameplay is smooth and intuitive, and I love the variety of weapons and quests. So far I still prefer HZD, though this isn’t a disappointment!
I loved the first instalment Horizon Zero Dawn, so there was never any doubt that I’d be purchasing the next.
I am blown away – the graphics, the gameplay, the storyline.. It’s exceeded all my expectations. It’s also more challenging – I got a little too comfortable with the weapons and fight tactics in the first game, so starting off without these took some getting used to. The side missions are as engaging as the main mission. I lose hours running around doing jobs and errands!
Very good game; good value for money. Really enjoyed the first one and looking forward to the third instalment. Loads of side missions; hours and hours to complete. The story is a bit strange and the ending has been criticised, but the developer has left it open for number three.
Everything that was wrong with the first one (mostly the facial and body animation) has been fixed, everything feels fresher and the quests now seem so much more involved and fluid along the natural progression of the game.
One of the best games on the PS5. This is the PS4 version but it comes with a free upgrade. Graphics, gameplay, story are all great and it sets it up nicely for the next instalment.
Exceeded my expecations and then some.
Takes the solid yet slightly bare structure of the first game and turns it into a stone cold masterpiece – plot is intriguing, combat is much better, the world is alive and full of interesting worthwhile things to do.
Zero complaints about the game,
I bought the ps4 copy and upgraded it to ps5 saving myself almost 20 quid.
If you enjoyed the first I can’t recommend it enough!
Best PS5 game? Yes I know it’s the PS4 edition, but at the time of writing there is a free upgrade to the PS5 version.
I thought the main story was solid, and more complete than Zero Dawn, despite finishing on another ‘cliff-hanger.’
For me it’s the breadth and depth not just of the main story, but of the side missions and quests, adding to the lore and history of this world. Playing from launch day the game ran impeccably with no issues for me. The combination of open world, story and acting make this a truly beautiful game.
Very good follow up game looks and plays well. A few little bugs but nothing to annoying. I am enjoying playing this game every day, well worth the money.
This is a really excellent sequel to “Zero Dawn”. It’s beautifully colorful, the game mechanics work properly and there’s a massive map with plenty to explore and many new functionalities. The story is skillfully told in the same manner as Zero Dawn, revealing more details as the game progresses. Buy this NOW!
After the 90gb download for the PS5 version (worth every penny) the story continues shortly after the events of the 1st game (that’s the only spoiler your getting). Looks as stunning on PS5 as the original did on PS5. I’d suggest you play the 1st game before playing this one as the story is a continuation, well worth the investment in time and money though.
Absolutely loving this game. The developers have not let us down. Great story arc with plenty of side missions, in a huge open world environment to explore. You won’t be disappointed.
Even better than the first game and i thought that was superb. Plus saved 20 buying the ps4 version instead of the ps5 one and just used the free ps5 upgrade, win wi
Stunning game that follows on from the original game, I’m still playing it and I’m enjoying the various missions you have to do to progress in the game.
Brilliant follow up to the original Horizon Zero Dawn, playing it on a PS4Pro and it’s flawless. Loading is quick and graphics are crisp and bright. (LG 4K nanocell TV) would definitely recommend it if you have played the first game. Huge vibrant open world to explore.
About 12 hours in and really enjoying it. More mysteries to uncover, and new enemies and machines encountered. New points system to spend and make skill improvements, and extra ‘abilities’ give the impression that Aloy has grown through her experiences of the previous game.
Due to arthritic fingers I played it on story level difficulty and that proved to have just enough combat and sufficiently difficult bosses to keep up my interest without my fingers hurting. The game had a few nice twists in the main story line which all added to the interest. I enjoyed exploring the vast open world running into new tribes, people and situations. Some of the climbs were vertigo inducing. I also fell to my death a number of times having fumbled a jump — some require just a nudge forward but others require a full jump pressing X, get it wrong and you fall. I played virtually all side quests and errands which helped give a break from the main storyline. These were well thought out and a good distraction without being repetitive. The rebel camps were also fun to take on by stealth from high ground, picking outliers off until I was eventually spotted usually ending up with melee combat with the remaining rebels. The cauldrons were scary and quite a challenge, not least figuring out how to get to where you are supposed to go; jumping between moving machine arms over deadly force fields certainly focussed attention! I noticed the game finished with a new threat looming in the future, obviously paving the way for yet another Horizon game. Bring it on — I’m up for the next one. 🙂
As is typical with these types of games the number of skills, weapons and coils were bewilderingly large so I only made use of a few of them. You could spend the rest of your life figuring out all these features to optimise your game play. There were a few software bugs, but not enough to spoil the game. I managed to crash the game once when in the Zenith base navigating a duct by clicking maps and trying to look at the map for the floor above. There was also a bug with the weapon wheel which was very erratic and difficult to select a weapon without it bouncing around other weapons — a search online revealed the cure to be to change the selection speed from slowest to normal which cured the fault. Another bug was with the quest to fly to the top of the mountain. Having got there the four pieces of armour were missing! I checked online footage for this quest and the armour wasn’t where it was supposed to be, so I had to abandon that quest. Another minor glitch occurred after finishing one quest (forgotten which) and I was supposed to return to base but the map wouldn’t show me the base or the track of how to get there! The square box against the quest to “show on map” was also missing. As I didn’t remember its location I just had to carry on with other quests. It eventually reappeared on the map so was able to return.
I paid full price for this game and it was worth every penny. Now it is done, my fingers can have a well earned rest. Thank you for making the game fun and suitable for people with less than perfect healthy hands by including story level difficulty.
Guerilla Games have produced a great game that I am astonished they could even get running on 2013 PS4 hardware that like the slightly weaker Xbone was not exactly cutting edge upon release with old Jaguar architecture from AMD at the time but on the new consoles we have a significant leap with newer rdna2 architecture, this game has some flaws and performance mode on PS5 is blurry but that can be patched, game itself is stunning with varied biomes and just jawdropping graphics, considering this is a cross gen release, imagine what GG can get out of a PS5 when they finally leave last gen behind, the 4k mode is razor sharp but at a cost that was acceptable last gen at 30fps but this gen I don’t think that should be strived for, Insominiac games implementation of 40-45fps on R&C RA was a great middle ground as was Resident evil Village version, the game itself has not fully delivered on the promise of ‘climb anything’ and can be clanky at times but small gripes in what is a showcase of what a dev can do left alone to create, sound design is top notch as are the set pieces that rival Uncharted 4, it is an open world game that is meticulously designed and even the many side quest are as good if not better than most games main quests, looking at you Ubisoft, everything feels organic except the monstrous machines you will face and on hard they can give you an almost Dark Souls like experience, intimidating and you can see the gears grind and move, it really is a game you should play and if you haven’t played the first go play that, it has been patched to 60fps on PS5 and STILL looks better than most new games, a heart thumping, emotional, technical marvel, a classic and one more games could take lessons from, near perfect, 3d spatial audio and subtle use of haptics also elevate the immersion although if you are gaming on a PS4 or PS4 Pro you are still in for a treat.
Loved the first one & the expansion, loving this one but there are a couple of issues & gripes. Whilst it doesn’t affect the gameplay there are graphic issues, disappearing & re-appearing Machines, at one point Aloy swung right through a solid ladder but really nothing that a good patch wouldn’t fix. Now for the gripes, frustrating is the best way to describe it, I’m fairly sure that the developers done this to extend the game but the amount of areas that you can’t get to because you don’t have that tool! You go off on a quest & all of a sudden you can’t go any further, there’s even a Tallneck that according to Google you can’t get on until near the end of the game, yet it’s in the second area! Arrows that were good in the first one now cause little to no damage & finding the parts for upgrades is like trying to find Rocking horse S***.
Still enjoying it in a masochistic sort of way!
Played the first game back in 2020 and loved it, so this was a day 1 purchase for me, and i never normally spend upwards of 50 on a game
But i have been playing it now for roughly 8 hours and still have only unlocked roughly a quarter of the map, so definitely has longevity, also the graphics and presentation of the game are amazing
I loved zero dawn so had to pre order this one, I was hesitant as I was worried I would be disappointed but just what a game!
Didn’t think they could improve on the first but they have, combat feels smoother and the weapons are alot more satisfying in terms of their realism.
I’m 10 hours in and barely scraped the main story that’s how engaging the side quests are.
The graphics are phenomenal and I’m playing on ps4 so even more impressive.
What parts of the main story I have played the writing and voice acting has been thoroughly engaging.
And special mention did my first cauldron and its potentially one of the most visually spectacular moments of gaming I’ve ever seen.
10 out of 10
This game is every bit as good as the original, better actually in many ways and on the PS5 looks stunning.
I’ve only just scratched the surface of this but loving it so far.
Flickling through the comments here and the sheer stupidity is there for all to see, the reviews are meant to be for the game! not for your personal delivery experience! If you have an issue with delivery, why should the product get a negative impact? it makes no sense..
Please complain about your delivery issues directly with Amazon not here!
I got this on the day after release and was blown away how great it is so far. I’m so far, ten hours into the game and already it’s better than the first and that’s saying something as Horizon Zero Dawn was amazing as it was.
The combat feels better now with melee combos added. I love how the skill trees allow you to play your own style.
Even on a basic PS4, it just plays so well. Uts stunning and everything just looks amazing.
Heartily recommend this, if you love the original or if you’re coming into the series.
Been watching the game reviews and the graphics are stunning, gameplay looks amazing and I cannot wait till I get to play this game, I have that all time high of getting my fingers on that new smooth case feeling and popping out that shiny new disc, sliding it into my PS4 (because I can’t get a mortgage out yet for the PS5) and sitting there anticipatingly waiting for the 10 hours of downloading to finish on my outstandingly fast BT WiFi.
I was so excited i preordered it from amazon for their release day delivery slot and with it being the cheapest too i thought it was too good to be true. I pre-emptively booked a day off of work so I could personally receive the delivery, install and give the game a good try for the next 3 days I have off.
I waited very patiently for it to arrive, I was So excited I couldn’t wait for the knock on the door so I could gracefully thank the delivery man/women/non-binary for the safe delivery of my parcel, but I waited and waited and then I waited some more, I was begining to sense something was not quite right, I checked for an update and there written in big black writing ‘THERE HAS BEEN A ISSUE WITH YOUR ADDRESS’ ………….. Nooo this has never happened in the years I’ve been committed as an Amazon prime/alexa/music/audio/kindle/kids subscriber have they ever had an issue with my address.
So I contacted support because man i needed support at this time, they reassured me 100% it would come the next day, they apologised and said my address was fine its just a hold up with the transportation which would mean I would receive it the following day, with feelings of dismay and the gut wrenching cramps in my stomach burning like a knife, I said ‘Ok’ and they responded with the automatic ‘Thank you for your patience and understanding’ but I understand nothing and I’m not patient so that line falls flat and more mocks me than anything.
So the next day comes and its still hasn’t come. I check my status which says it can still come yesterday, which now I’m questioning if amazon employers can somehow time travel back to yesterday and my game will already be installed waiting, I check my sorry PS4, nope nothing.
I wait and I wait and as I wait I ponder out the window, watching all the different delivery people, knocking on doors, delivering those special parcels to their customers, Hermes, dpd, royal mail, amazon and wonder, when will it be my turn, the clock ticks by the minutes, then the hours and still I’m forgotten about. I then check the status again hoping they might give me a time in when this holy of holy games would arrive, suddenly all the wind leaves my lungs and the gut wrenching aches travels around my body when I see the words, ‘YOU HAVE TO CONTACT AMAZON’ and ‘TO REBOOK THE DELIVERY’, I fall to the floor thump my fist on the ground and scream dam you, dam you to hell!! …… but no one hears me and it doesnt change anything.
So here I am contacting amazon again for help and support and all they can say is give it 3 more days and if it doesn’t show up we will claim its lost, lost like the glowing light of excitement that once filled my decaying, hollow shell of a body. So now I will wait some more in hopes one day it will arrive and I can start my awaited adventure…..
What a game sequel this is! Looks magnificent on PS5 playing the PS4 disk version and downloading the PS5 version at the same time.
Same feeling of ‘quality’ as the first game with high production values. The game has an updated class system where you can focus on being a warrior, archer, trap setter and so on. Excellent story telling with the usual mix of stealth, setting traps, silent kills and outright melee madness!
The game has 2 Blueray disks for a whopping 97GB installed size, and a 2GB update to download.
Buy this game if you like open world adventures as you will not regret it and the PS4 disk version allows you to download the PS5 version for free!
Trophies carry over to the PS5 version once you Platinum the PS4 game
What a brilliant game, so addictive. Massive open world well worth getting i
Extraordinary game. Similar but superior to the first which if you loved you’ll adore this. Aloy should go down in video game history alongside the legends such as Mario, Sonic and Lara Croft.
Haven’t as yet played the game but have loaded it ready. Excellent Item, in great condition and extra fast delivery. What more can one ask for.
I bought this as a gift so can’t comment on the game itself but it arrived quickly and a good price from what I could see with others around.
Squeezing games in around a newborn my sister tells me its super fu

What a sequel – more of what you liked about the first & yet again a fabulous story.
Love love love this game. Once I discovered horizon i’ve played nothing else since! The graphics are amazing, the views in game are stunning and there’s so much to explore and do! Would highly recommend to everyone to try it out!
Thoroughly enjoyed the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn looking forward to the next addition.
What a amazing game it is.
Fantastic story.
Unreal graphics
Fantastic game play

Great game. A good continuation of the first one. I’ve received it on the release date. +++
I loved zero dawn and this is even better, huge open map. weeks of enjoyment for me. highly recommended.
Value for the money
Played the first one and it was awesome…it was only a question of time for this bad boy to be played! Brilliant..especially on ps4 pro
Amazing sequel. Improves in every way. Once you get used to the new gaming mechanics it a breeze.
Some of the battles are quite tough. Expect normal mode to be slightly harder then what you normally expect.
If you liked Zero Dawn you’ll love this… There’s nothing to add, really enjoying this installment. Includes the ps5 version for free.

Great game, Better sequel. Not 5 starts because of the graphics in performance mode, side from that combat, side quests and main story are great 🙂
I bought it as a surprise gift for my son who knew nothing about it.
The art is breathtaking and I’m loving being back in Aloy’s world. Gameplay is smooth and intuitive, and I love the variety of weapons and quests. So far I still prefer HZD, though this isn’t a disappointment!
Played on the ps4 Pro.
No issues
If you liked the first game, you’d love the second. About 30 to 50 hours of play.
Great fun. Smooth combat, more of the same but better.
A must buy. Is it worth it at full 60 price. Yes.
There were bugs on first release. And there are still bugs. However the games so good it does detract.
It never crashed once, main issue I faced was falling through world. This was very infreque
I was going to wait for this to reduce but I couldn’t wait anymore and bought it. It was worth every penny!
I loved the first instalment Horizon Zero Dawn, so there was never any doubt that I’d be purchasing the next.

So happy this was developed for ps4 a great follow up to the horizon.
I bought this for my son who says it’s the best game he’s ever played since Resident Evil.
Having played the first and add on ihad to get, wasn’t disappointed
Everything that was wrong with the first one (mostly the facial and body animation) has been fixed, everything feels fresher and the quests now seem so much more involved and fluid along the natural progression of the game.
Saw the game online and clips on youuibe and had to get i
One of the best games on the PS5. This is the PS4 version but it comes with a free upgrade. Graphics, gameplay, story are all great and it sets it up nicely for the next instalment.
Loads to do, good story line, cool machines, I loved it, it’s definitely for me, can’t wait for another one
Free upgrade online for PS4 to PS5 version, ok you have to wait while it downloads – I now have both versions which both play!
Great game, story brilliant, fun to play and buy the PS4 version for the PS5 to save yourself a bit of money
You have to play it! It’s one of best games ever I love story so much!
All the game 10/10 brilliant worth having. brilliant graphics brilliant storyline also brilliant game play. worth buying.
Daughter says the game is amazing and the graphics awesome
Brilliant follow up to the original Horizon Zero Dawn, playing it on a PS4Pro and it’s flawless. Loading is quick and graphics are crisp and bright. (LG 4K nanocell TV) would definitely recommend it if you have played the first game. Huge vibrant open world to explore.
About 12 hours in and really enjoying it. More mysteries to uncover, and new enemies and machines encountered. New points system to spend and make skill improvements, and extra ‘abilities’ give the impression that Aloy has grown through her experiences of the previous game.
First game was one of my all time favourites. This one takes it to a whole new level of detail and gaming experience.
Bought it for my hubby, he’s already done the first one numerous times, so hasn’t stopped playing since he got it!! He thinks it’s brilliant!!
Definitely worth the money, amazing game
Was delivered as promised, bought for my 14 year old and she has played it for hours since she had it so that’s a good sig
Feels great in all aspects !! .. enjoyable and story is really moving.
Great game so far graphics are beautiful hope the gam has longevity love it bring out a number three
I got this on the day after release and was blown away how great it is so far.
Product is excellent excellent service and quality the game is very excelle
This game is awesome Im really enjoying it great colours the scenery is unbelievable too wow
The story follows on from horizon zero dawn. It’s a 30+ hour game with all aspects of the game being improved I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
