Drying & Styling with InStyler TURBO
Towel dry your hair, then with the Infinity Airflow Dial turned up and the Turbo Ionic Switch set (high for thick, coarse hair and low for fine/thin hair), rough dry hair to remove excess water. Set the heat and run the dryer over your head using your hands to lift the hair at the roots. When about three-quarters dry, turn down the airflow for precision and for a frizz-free finish. Finally, use the Cool Shot setting to lock in long-lasting style.
For full volume, bouncy curls and waves, point the dryer at a 45-degree angle from beneath the hair shaft, infusing each section with extra body. For a smooth and sleek straight style, point dryer downward from above the hair to maintain tension with your brush. Section your hair and begin at the nape of your neck, working down from the root, to mid-shaft, to the ends. Work around your head in small, manageable sections until hair is completely dry. When you’ve achieved your desired style, press the Cool Shot to lock in your look.

If the cold shot had been ‘cold’, I would have kept it but it was too warm.
I didn’t like the controls being on back of hairdryer because that made it fiddly to operate, would have preferred on side of hairdryer.
Also the plug was a strange rounded shape which was difficult to get in and out of electric socket for ageing hands.
So I returned it and decided to keep my heavy hairdryer with its cold shot button & controls on the side.
However the look and weight of the hairdryer was great.
To be fair, I have never had a decent hairdryer before. I was previously using a 10+ year old Conair (I think?) which broke years ago and weighed about 3lbs. Great for my arms’ definition, but not great for getting my hair dry. When that broke, I was in the process of moving from the States to the UK and decided to get a small travel hairdryer to replace it in the meantime. Much much lighter than the old one, but also MUCH less powerful.
I FINALLY decided that I needed to get a new hairdryer that wouldn’t take 45 mins to dry my hair and asked my mother to get me one for Christmas (as I couldn’t be bothered to find a decent one myself). And she treated me to this one and I am SO happy with it. It’s cut my drying time in half. It weighs next to nothing and it’s somehow very quiet at the same time. She also got me the travel size to be able to use that one for trips back to the States, but I haven’t tested that one out yet. If its performance is anything near this model, it’ll be great.
The only small complaint I might have is regarding the location of the buttons. On my old hairdryer the controls were located on the inside of the handle which made turning it on and off very quick, but these are located on the outside of the handle so I need to readjust my hand to turn on and off, not so easy when you’re in the middle of drying your hair and have a brush in the other hand. I’m sure I’ll adapt to it more with time, but that’s really my only small gripe.
TL/DR: This was a gift and has become the best hairdryer I have ever used! Highly recommend!
I bought this because 1, the weight of it & 2, the reviews.
I suffer from hypermobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, so my joints suffer from dislocations & instability. My old hairdryer has been great but it weighs over 800g & I just can’t hold that anymore. This is less than half that weight, which is an absolute must. It’s not massive either, which is also a bonus.
The reviews were really helpful, seeing people with arthritis saying it was nice, powerful, yet lightweight was very encouraging.
The only thing I’ve noticed is, air seems to be escaping out of the handle somehow. It doesn’t affect the use, I just noticed it on the first use.
I would absolutely recommend this hairdryer.
It will be awesome if I could get back 10 with a price drop voucher!
Powerful dryer and lighter than any I’ve used before. The controls aren’t the easiest to use and it’s quite noisy.
Overall I’m happy with it.
I bought this for my mum who can’t handle a heavy hairdryer. She wanted lightweight which this definitely is but it’s still powerful. It looks very modern and cool, is easy to use, not too noisy. If you need a light hairdryer this is the one! You don’t sacrifice on style or power.
Everything I wanted bar the fact that the cold blow setting is not that cold but not a deal breaker. I purchased this hair dryer due to it being light weight and it is! It’s fab! With 2 heat settings and a variable speed as well as being half the weight of my previous HD I’m very pleased as I have surgery coming up in a few weeks and will need a light weight hair dryer later on.
I was replacing my previous dryer which had failed after 11 years use. I read reviews and went for this one as it was light weight. I find it easy to create a smooth shiny bob in a short time. Very pleased with my purchase.
It’s lightweight, so your arm won’t feel as if it’s going to fall off.
It has a fan-speed dial, for all-to-nothing selection.
It has an on / off option for ionization.
It has two heat settings – hot really is hot, and medium really is medium.
It has a “cool shot” button.
I’ve used it three or four times now. I hope it lasts a good long time, because it is that nice to have a hairdryer that gets used rather than getting left in the drawer.
