Why MkII?Since their release, word has spread on the quality and value found in the original JBL 3 Series, resulting in wide adoption from hobbyists to high-end professionals working in music, film, post, and broadcast production worldwide. With such an obvious hit, you might ask, “Why update now?” On every project at JBL, thereâs always a handful of features or improvements that the engineering team canât squeeze in before going to production. 3 Series was no different. When the opportunity presented itself, we decided to make those final improvements to the transducers, add a frequently-requested feature, and apply the latest manufacturing learnings. | Patented Image Control WaveguideReveal impressive detail, ambience and depth in your mixes thanks to the groundbreaking JBL Image Control Waveguide. Originally developed for JBLâs flagship M2 Master Reference Monitor, this patented innovation ensures an acoustically seamless transition between the low- and high-frequency transducers and provides an immersive soundstage with precise imaging. Offering a broad sweet spot and neutral frequency response, JBL 306P MkII delivers a crystal-clear representation of your mixârevealing subtle details, even when listening off-axis. | Your Mix is Only as Good as Your MonitorsTo help you make the best mix decisions, JBL equipped the 306P MkII with acclaimed 3 Series transducers that now perform even better. Hear deep, accurate and tightly controlled bass thanks to a long-throw 6.5″ woofer and the patented JBL Slip Stream low-frequency port. Enjoy soaring, immaculately detailed highs via the woven-composite 1″ Neodymium tweeter. JBL engineers took things to the next level with faster HF transient response through fine-tuned ferrofluid damping, and greater low frequency linearity and lower harmonic distortion courtesy of an enhanced woofer design. |

Love the quality sound this monitor produces. Rich heart pounding bass as well as crisp clean highs.
I actually didn’t expect anything less from JBL. Their products are #1 in my book
Really like the fact that they have dual inputs. One is TRS and the other is balanced XLR. So I’ve hooked up my keyboard to the TRS and the XLR is hooked up to the audio recording device. Works perfectly.
I am going to use them for my studio when I complete it.i am just listening to music for now.i recommend a 10″ or single 12″ if you want some thump. Very happy with them though.
Well packaged and easy to set up. For the price they can’t be beat.
This fits my 7.2 system perfectly for people who love music you should try it out and hear quality in comparison to others I love this JBL
These are very accurate monitors for the price point. I had an older pair from a different manufacturer and didn’t realize what I was missing until I heard these. My kids pitched in and got me one speaker. They are not musicians or sound engineers so they did their best based on their research and financial resources. I am glad they did. After hearing what one sounded like, I had to get the other. Amazon’s monthly no- interest payment option made it possible so thanks for that. My confidence in my mixes, even in my less- than- ideal recording and mixing space, is greater as a result. I highly recommend these monitors if your budget lives in this price range. You will not be disappointed.
I originally received two of these and they were… less than ideal. None of the factory packaging included, missing items like the foot pads for the bottom of the cabinets. One speaker had the center tweeter entirely missing. The other crackled even at low volumes. Kept my cool, requested a replacement for both. Both were already on the way before I was done repackaging the bad ones I’d been sent. Very happy with the customer service!
New ones arrived a few days later, this time with the expected packaging, necessary items, and high quality. Fantastic sound all around, even with high-quality recordings. Love these speakers, customer service was top notch. Thank you!
In the process of rebuilding my studio, I’ve tried a handful of different studio speakers. Ranging from top of the line to budget. There is NO doubt in my mind these produce the best sound for studio monitors. The are a little bit heavy and the size is a little bigger than I wanted, but, I can forget about the minor details I wasn’t happy about because the sound is so good you’ll want no other speakers than these. BUY THESE!!
I’m not a music producer. I was looking for a way to play my guitar through my computer and not blow the neighbors roof off every time I flipped on the amp. So I did a lot of research into a “budget” set of monitors. It was between these and some Yamaha’s that were a bit more expensive.
When I finally got my setup together and plugged in my guitar. I was blown away by the sound these were making. These are almost too much for the room I’m in but you can still turn them down and it still reproduce some nice tones (to my old ears anyways).
I use these to listen to music as well. And they sound quite good even without a subwoofer. Though I mainly listen to rock, blues, jazz. I’ve had them for about 3 months and put them through their paces and so far they’ve been holding up nicely. I’d definitely recommend these for those on a budget and still want quality sound reproduction.
Absolutely love them! Incredibly clear noise and pleasing to look at. Would highly recco.
Bought these as a gift for my boyfriend and so far so good! Will update review if anything changes
En general la entrega a tiempo y el producto tal como se esperaba en Calidad
This speaker is awesome 10/10 would recommend. I bought this speaker as a gift to my partner, who is a DJ and needed a small speaker for when he is mixing. We only returned the product to get a smaller size speaker.
Excelente monitor, lo amo. Bajos profundos sin exagerar y buena acstica
I use them to mix out of my audio interface. Put them up on stands and I am very happy with them.
Sound great. Upgraded from the krk v4. Not too stoked on the hiss but it’s part of the class D amplifier. I might look for something else. But returning these is a pain I’m not looking forward to.
I was expecting more crystal sound quality.
Besides that they are good
Perfect! Sound great! Ordered 1 and was so happy with results that i ordered another one. Awesome purchase!
I really like these! I should have gotten the smaller version, but with some room treatment, my little home studio sounds true.
The sound quality is amazing.
These are the best monitors for the price point. It’s JBL quality, so that statement should be enough for any audiophile, who knows what to expect from them. For those using them for their home studio, yes there are more expensive ones out there. However I have yet to find a speaker in this price point that can even match these.
Love these and the open box price of $99/ speaker for a 6″ studio monitors was a steal for these! I use these for playing guitar through an amp simulator Bias FX and also playing music off of my iPad Pro.
I’m no pro engineer or audiophile, but I’ve been listening to music for 45 years and they sound great to me. A lot better than the JBL 104s that I have. The 6″ woofer gives me a fuller sound with more bass. Pretty loud as well. I usually have the volume knob on the back at “5” or “6” and thats plenty loud.
Finally listened to my audio engineer friends/coworkers and got a reference speaker. The mids & highs are very crisp. I had to play around with the location to optimize the low end.
Likes:
Nice design
Amplifier includes with 2 balanced wire inputs
Sound decent
Dislikes:
No bluetooth input
No output
less bass than expected (use in my small room)
Bass is not as deep as I hope fo
For all those audiophiles who need some super expensive monitors keep shopping, these are not expensive enough to put on display your gravitas about sound. There are plenty of more expensive models ready to take your money. And those expensive speakers are different. But not in any meaningful way for 99.99% of the world. When you get around to actually making good music, you will have to admit the monitors didn’t play much of role in that. If you think if only i had better monitors to hear my mix, I could create a track that was much better than the mud I am making now… well it might just be you suck. And if you want these to just listen to music, then just remember it is your brain that decides whether the experience was good. If you think a song wasn’t good enough when heard with these monitors because the upper mids popped just a little too much, then fix your perception. For $240 a pair these monitors are really very acceptable
Amazon keeps losing my review so short and sweet. Great speakers for a reasonable price. Used for reference speaks for home recording mix down. Love them and my other two sets of JBL’s.
I use my pair of 306P MkII’s for everything, including audio production. I connect them using unbalanced cables and they still sound great. Great response on the entire spectrum of frequencies. Also good at any volume level. I would recommend them to anyone!
These have great stereo imaging and clarity for low price monitors. The bass response was perfect for my small room with little acoustic correction. I highly recommend! Fast shipping and great packaging.
Funcionan como esperado, estoy muy contento mezclando msica y jugando videojuegos
I’m glad I didn’t get the 8″ speakers. I use this to spin tech house. These monitors have plenty of uhmmph. I don’t even need a subwoofer for my room or else my neighbors will want to kill me. Great price!
I’m using these for computer speakers and am very impressed with the sound. They hit $260 for the pair and I grabbed them. Neutral monitor performance so feed them quality signal and they will pass it on to you. Test them with a good quality jazz recording to hear how good of a soundstage they can create. In box soundcards can mess up a clean signal so I bought a USB D/A converter (Behringer UCA202) with 1/4″ outs to feed to the speakers. Have them in plane with the monitor and five feet apart. Monitor is a 32″ 4k so I can sit back at 3-4 feet and enjoy streamed movies. They can’t be expected to handle the work of a subwoofer of course but for most movies deep low end isn’t needed anyway.
Great sound!!! High quality sound from a company that knows how to make studio monitors! Highly recommended!
Excellent stereo detail, a very clear crisp top end. Because my placement is far enough from walls, the bass effect doesn’t apply so I don’t use the bass cut feature. In fact the initial mixes tended to have more bass because these monitors are slightly weak on the bottom end so +2 dB bass boost, neutral, and -2 dB cut positions would be better. But these ARE 6″ near-fields that are great secondary monitors to my Mackie system w/ a subwoofer. Great quality you’d expect from JBL at a reasonable price!
This might be the best value out there for studio monitors when measuring the price/performance ratio.
Sound is great! You will love them.

I purchased these to replace some Event TR8 speakers that just gave up after a decade+. I researched and found these to be be a good match. The speakers themselves are lighter and have a good response range that do not required over extended EQ. The TR*s actually became very muddy. The major difference is the cabinet themselves. The older speakers were made of wood and had a real solid feel to them. The JBLs are not as solid but sound great. I feel I made a great choice with the replacements.
Easily scratched on the shiny part of plastic on the front even when dusting with a micro fibre cloth… amazing sound though.
