Had to dig out some entrenched bamboo. This tool reduced the difficulty immensely. Reduced job that looked like it would take days to 3 hours
This is a very nice mattock, Perfect weight for my use. I’ve used it three times now for grubbing out some pretty hefty tree stumps and it really was ideal.
Nice and heavy with excellent cutting edges. It made short work of some very thick roots.
Recommended!
Great tool really does job – clears tough grass , braks up soil v happy with i
Does the job that I bought it for – mainly ‘digging out’ shrub roots
This bad boy is a beast. Churns up the ground with ease.
Great gardening tool, gets rids of unwanted roots, light and solid made
Bought this to remove some bamboo. Did the job nicely.
Great piece of equipment for digging up hard soil and cutting through roots
Recently moved into a new house and needed to get rid of 9 trees in the garden.
Worth buying
Good weight head and nice handle grip. Yellow head is easy to spot when left with other tools
Fab, piece of kit. Bought it to help level some rough, stoney ground and to remove some tree stumps. Worked a treat, wish I had bought it sooner!!
Very pleased with JCB generous offer to send Mattock after Amazon failed to send complete items.
Look forward to receiving this item which looks sturdy and the best I could find.
cracking purchase more than happy, spent a sunny afternoon in the garden removing some large and stubborn roots made light work of them no problem
Five stars given, but obviously relating only to the service so far received. Delivery was excellent, as was the very prompt response from the seller when I queried whether the mattock dual heads should or should not be sharpened.
Apparently “The cutting edges of the tool are ‘blunt ground’ before hardening. This allows the tool to be sharp enough to slice through the ground but also be tough enough to break through rocks and stones etc. without damaging the striking face. Hence, there is no need to sharpen the edge for its intended purposes.”
