The handle is great for holding a strong dog, the durability is great too. Ours has been in worn in all weather and is still in great condition. For short coat breeds it might be best to take it off for a little bit because it can rub around their necks and cause a rash.

I’ve been very impressed with it indeed, it’s very well made. The handle is handy for times when needed like moving away from the front door etc. The o ring you connect the lead to is a good size and very sturdy. The collar folds back on its self covering the buckle which I think is a very good idea.
For anyone that wants to personalize it there is a velcro tag which can be removed and replaced with a name or warning etc. I personally have just left the standard manafactured one.
The thickness takes some getting used to visually espically if coming from a thiner collar but I really like the look now. But that said you can get a thinner one but I believe you don’t get the handle with that one.
Highly recommended and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again in the future.
This collar replaces a similar one that is 2 years old. Hopefully we will get 2 years out of this one too.

I have a 30kg labrador who is nearly 3 years old and this collar is great. Able to trust it even when wet and doesn’t need to be tightened that often. Great for a lab that loves the water.
The design is great as it doesn’t put too much force on the clasp so you know you can trust it.
Looks great and fits labels on there. Fits my 9kg terrier great. She has a 38cm neck exact and fits her perfectly, so true to size.

The fit is good and there is plenty of adjustment, the clasp is nice and thick and the way the end of the collar loops back after you put it on ensures that everything is secure and won’t come apart. The last thing you want is a collar snapping or coming undone you won’t have any worries about that happening with this collar.
there is a good strong handle built into the collar, which is perfect if you need to grab your dog for any reason. when not in use the handle sits flat against the collar and is held in place with velcro. the way it’s designed the Handel does want to sit flat so is not sticking out when the dogs running about, so it won’t get caught on anything.

Best collar I have ever bought for my pets.
Ive had issues with clips coming loose or unlocking when in use – this collar gives extra peace of mind with the velcro double-back strap that covers the clip and serves as a good backup should the mechanism fail.

Used a harness for our husky but pulling was an issue until I swapped to this… Click clip to secure and then has a double secure measure with the Velcro strap that goes over and back on the click clip, my husky doesn’t pull as much and I find easier to control him, there is a handle should you need to use it but I find it hard to hold as there is a piece of Velcro under it which doesn’t allow quick access
I bought this collar for my Cockapoo. A well made strong collar but the D ring was large and very thick and I couldn’t attach the dog tag. The collar itself fitted well but the D ring being so large made it impractical for my dog. Ideal for a large dog. I gave it to a friend for their large Collie and they are really pleased with it.
Love these collars the handle on them is a brilliant feature can hold the dog by the collar without it feeling as if they are being strangled, had to up grade to the bigger size as our husky pups grew out of the smaller ones pretty quickly, but they were such good quality had to buy the same again (just changed colour from orange to grey for a change) julius k-9 is definitely one of the better brands for collars/harnesses

This is a perfect fit on my dog, she’s happy to wear it, there is no chafing or discomfort. I purchased the lead in the same colour/design 3 years’ ago. Long lasting and hardwearing but my only issue is that threading one half of the catch through the metal ring can be fiddly (especially when my little dog is excited and wriggly!). This is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I would still happily recommend this collar (and the lead).
Great collar and a great price. This is a really sturdy collar, great thickness, strong clip and velcro strap over it for extra security. The handle is great for control when needed. This is brilliant for large dogs.
Dog hates it but I use it to detract from the fact his lead is on his harness. Though he can tug this collar off his neck he gets a false sense of freedom when he pulls as the lead is attached to his harness. It stops him pulling on his harness as much when The Outside noises and frightening looking things (shadows, cars, objects being blown about by the wind) threaten to cause him a nervous breakdown.
Great collar, easy to resize to your dogs neck- although putting the tag on was quite a challenge as the ring is really bulky.
Really strong and well made collar. My Spaniel has a tendency to pull on its lead and it’s previous collar would dig into it’s neck a little. This broader and thicker collar addressee that really well. Plenty of colours to choose from!
It’s a great collar, got to say it’s got a strange clasping mechanism which loops the collar through the loop, something which wasn’t apparent initially when looking at the pictures. Works fine, but can imagine it could be irritating for a larger one.
We have been wanting to buy this and the harness for some time but we were not sure how it was going to perform, as our Labrador has the tendency to pull.
This has paired well with the harness.

This arrived today and I put it on my guide dag start away has is old one ad seen better days it is of good Quality and sturdy build and I like the cooler too and my boy looks good too. I strongly Recommend it if you are looking for a new Color get this one.

Really nice looking collar. Thick and sturdy so really good for a growing cockapoo. Its got a nice way of clipping where you don’t feel like you’re going to trap the fur or skin. I didn’t know how to put it together at first but you slide it through the metal ring and it has an extra layer of material between the dog and the clips which makes it safe

I Am not sure why they call them “No Pull” harnesses because they just do not work, at least not for my dog. I used to have a Julius K9 harness and hated taking my German Shepherd for walks. I decided to try this Collar and his behaviour changed instantly. He pulled as we were going out and then shook his head a couple of times. After that he was walking right by my side and did not pull for the duration of the walk. Get yourself a collar, any collar, if you have a dog that pulls like a truck. You won’t regret it.
Great product, ordered for my German shepherd and fitted amazingly, didn’t need the larger size going for a medium for worked well! Worth every penny.
This collar is perfect for my German Shepherd. He has a medium length coat and has quite a fluffy neck and this collar makes it easier to grab because regular sized collars become invisible/hidden on him. The fastening clip is chunky and easy to put on and off. The ring where a lead clips on is relatively small compared to the collar but does the job. The grab handle velcros down onto the collar which I don’t like but due to the width of the collar its still easy to grab hold of.
A superb 20mm collar for 5.30. Sometimes the less popular colours are cheaper on Amazon, so change the colour option if you want to pay less. This is possibly the best collar available in the 5-10 price range. The last collar i bought was a 7 Yudote collar & nowhere near as good.
As the dog grows, we’ll buy a bigger 25mm or 40mm Julius K9 collar from Amazon because this smaller collar has proven the brand to be robust. I have way more faith in the K9 collar than our cheap pound shop dog lead.
I’ve baught loads of collars for my bully dog some are double the price off this but this one is easy the best collar he has had by a mile. Highly recommend
Got this for my car mad Collie 40mm version. I can see where the reviews are coming from about the clasp, I seem to have got a more solid one but it is very light and I could imagine some are more flimsy than mine.
For people complaining about the dog squirming/ rolling in the handle: hard to control dogs are always going to be hard to control if they don’t like it. Try giving them a treat every time you grab the handle, few days of this mine has seemed to calm down.
You wouldn’t like being grabbed by the neck either, teach them it’s a good thing first.
Bought for our Labrador. We used to use a harness but she pulled. This has changed the way she walks massively. She now walks to heel. Great product!
I purchased the grey and orange for my mastiff mixbreeds. Collars are brilliant. They feel really solid when new which I thought would be very uncomfortable for my dogs but after a while they soften. Dogs aren’t bothered by them. They wear them when going out, not 24/7.
Perfect for my dog, got a large collar as we have a very big dog and it’s normally hard to find the right collar to hold his weight and size but this is everything I could of wanted for him, the grab handle is secure and sturdy enough to be able to keep control of your dog.

Great value for money comfortable on dogs and easy to control dogs whilst out walking them. I have a Staffordshire bull terrier and a collie And walk them on a splitter with a lead. The staff is young and friendly but can sometimes be boistoirius when passing other dog’s so the handle on the collars good for holding both dog’s as other dog walkers pass with there dogs.

Brilliant collar – best we have had ( and we have had many over the years). Very clever easy design which takes the pulling pressure off of the plastic clasp – very smart.
Good chunky collar feels strong and durable.Have a 3 year old midriff cross who is a rescue he is reactive and lunges around at things he doesn’t like.This collar is used in conjunction with a head collar and strap from that to the Julius we feel reassured he isn’t able to slip out of them.It is quite wide which maybe is less comfortable but doesn’t seem to bother him.The bit of reflectiveness is useful too. Would recommend for large or sticky dogs
Bought this collar & matching lead for my 14 week old JRT. The collar’s a bit big for her at the moment, but I’m sure she’ll grow into it. Very strong material, lovely colour.
Bought for my malinois to be more comfortable, wider and with a handle for extra safety if I need to hold him close. Really pleased with the quality and he looks very smart wearing it.

I’m used to slimmer collars, so it’s unusual to see my boy with such a thick collar but it’s not uncomfortable for him.
I also like that fact that there is space where you can add your own patches to the collar. The bigger breeds always seem intimidating to people with small breeds so having ‘friendly’ patch on his harness has made all the difference.
I’ve brought this collar with the handle for extra restraint if needed. My boy is really very good, but protective and overreacts sometimes with certain people/dogs. So when he lunges it’s best to have hands on his harness and collar.

My dog has the Julius K9 harness so it’s not an issue for me, but I think there should be an additional ring for tags which would also prevent the collar from slipping round.

Brought this for our pup as he was getting bigger and needed his first adult collar. The collar is really strong and safe. I am using this on our Akita. I have used julius k9 collars and harnesses before and they are always of the highest quality. Easy to adjust and clip on. Although there is a piece of material that helps cover the locking mechanism which I cut off as it was not going to be used. All in all a great collar. Would always recommend and the colour really pops!
I have several of these in different colours. They are my favourite dog collars. I was surprised at how bright this orange was as I thought it was going to be a bit of a dirty orange.
Anyway it’s still a good lead and one of the best makes.

I have a few of these – black, blue, red, orange and pink because they are the best collar I have found for my dogs. Each dog has a couple of collars so that I can change them and give them a wash. They wash well and are very strong. I have also bought the matching leads. Great make.

Got this for a 1yr old Rottweiler and it’s perfect. Well made and looks to be very Sturdy which is what I wanted. Was worried it may look to big on her but fits well.
Built like a brick **** house. Colour is really vibrant which is great for me because my dog is a pitch black dachshund. It makes it so much easier to see her in the dark.
The plastic clip is very sturdy but easy to use but I don’t see the point of firm velcro on the handle tho ,I’m not leaving it on my dog as a permanent one it only gets used for outdoors as after 1 night a lot of material has frayed ,it’s been snipped and sealed with a lighter otherwise it’s a good collar but I use a cheap lightweight one for indoors
First of all I love this collar. Love the fit and the width. It lost a star because our Rory’s white fur is now very slightly pink where the collar sits. I thought it was a rub injury at first and freaked but then realised his fur was now a tiny bit dyed. Which I guess could be a bonus for some folks with pink hair and they want their dog to match. Even with the pink fur I still will buy the next size up when he outgrows this one as I otherwise I really like this collar.
The product would be so much better with a softer lining for the dogs neck and the handle.
This is great for my 35kg furry love missile, as he can pull when excited this wide collar stops him from hurting him self. The control handle is very handy and the clip loop appears very strong and is the quick relese clip that is supported by thick velcro strap.
Fab collar, got for use with a large and strong Wolfie cross Lurcher who can be a bit bouncy on walks! I really appreciate the built-in handle for when he meets other dogs as he loves to bounce around them trying to play, which can be a bit much for teeny dogs to cope with!

Following a ‘normal’ collar snapping at the plastic buckle when my dog bolted after being frightened on a walk, and the ensuing 45 minute terror of her being lost as she roamed the streets of the town, I vowed to replace her collar with something much better. I’ve trusted Julius-K9 products for years in other areas (tracking harnesses etc) and it was only laziness that meant I had her previously in the existing collar given to us.
The Julius-K9 is extremely high quality as you’d expect. The buckle is very robust and has a real feel of strength to it. The rest of the collar is very well made – strong stitching, and made of very tough material.
In short, I’m confident this collar will last her a lifetime. I’m very satisfied with it.
The item was fine. However I do feel that Amazon should make it a great deal easier to return without charging. As in our case we re-ordered same item but smaller size. Exchange option is I am sorry quite useless as does not list item(s) required?
I do not like the buckle/clip as on my jack russel it rubs against his leg and chest. It should be protected by padding between the buckle and the dog. It’s a big buckle for a small dog and can cause discomfort.
Pleased with this product, sturdy, like the back up velco fastening. Would be nice to give some example breeds when choosing sizes, as mine is very close between the medium/ large.
Can only clip short leads to it, or it swivels, easy to grab hold of when the dog is moving
We have a 2 year old doberman and wanted a collar that suits his frame and is comfier on longer walks. This is brilliant. Fits well, comfortable, has a handle if we need a bit more control and has a handy flap to cover the clasp for added support.

Very handy built in handle, best review I can give is that my dogs don’t notice the collars. I use in tandem with Julius-K9 harness with a double ended lead. Great control

Very strong thick metal ring that’s welded shut so it won’t break or bend when pulled really hard and it has a nice clip to close mechanism and instead of the usual hole system to adjust the size it’s infinatly adjustable and very secure when adjusted. Fits my German Shepherd with plenty of adjustment left. These guys really know how to make long lasting well constructed dog accessories. I’m a definite Julius K9 fan as I’ve tried so much rubbish from other suppliers and pet shops. Also I normally NEVER write anyone a review as most products are distinctly average nowadays.
Looks good, seems strong andong lasting but as it’s a little bulky with the handle and quite rigid Im not sure it’s totally comfortable but hopefully it will ‘loosen’ over time
Bought for my newfoundland after having the same brand harness for a number of years. Over all very happy with the product, my one gripe is that with the weight of the handle it tends to rotate around if not very tight on the dogs neck when the lead is not attached.
This is an excellent, simple but sturdy collar. The material feels very durable and I like the large O-ring. Smallest size on the tightest setting just about fits my 15 week old 5kg pup – slightly big, so not suitable for tiny puppies. Like it so much I bought the Julius K9 harness the next day!
Love this collar, it’s great quality ,seems to be very comfortable for the dogs as well and looks really good. The Velcro’s flap for double safety is a brilliant idea. Also this is useful as well when the two pups play other collars have come off and been chewed up,the handle is also a very good idea if you just need to hold them back to open a door etc. Well impressed
Love K9 products. Had one of these but puppy chewed clasp (owner error). Replacement collar delivered promptly. High quality durable and practical. Just what’s required for handle a large dog. I use this in conjunction with a K9 harness and heavy weight extending leash for training. Brilliant.
I bought this collar as my dog loves to pull and this has helped cut that down. I believe due to the wider collar than is normally used for dogs. The handle is a great feature as well as the glow in the dark writing on the collar even if it is just to advertise there products in the dark I would of preferred it as a strip rather than a company name scrolled across it. Arrived on time and would recommend to anyone looking for a good sturdy collar.
Overall a great collar. Quite bulky but needs to be for its functionality. The velcro on the handle isn’t comfortable to hold, but you’re not usually holding it for very long.
This is a substantial, chunky collar, the main attraction being the handle that helps you control your larger dog close-up with minimal strangulation. My only quibble is that the only section that reflects in the dark is the “Julius K-9” label, which is velcro’ed to the collar and thus removable – but of course then it’s not as safe. Would’ve preferred an abstract pattern to this naff and unnecessary attempt at branding.
39 mm to 65 25mm was spot on for boxer bitch. Buckle clip a bit bulky but mainly due to system that double checks release of collar. This alleviates any concerns if you accidently don’t quite lock clip together as it still holds collar together. Overall once collers initial stiffness has settled down, very pleased with good functional collar.

I have a working cocker; who’s better off the lead than on it; but this collar has a good width that doesn’t cut into his neck when he decides he wants to charge off to go play with the pigeons or rabbits.
The grip handle is perfect to allow good control over the dog when you need to without having to slip your hands between neck and collar, reducing pressure on your dogs neck.
I always prefer a clipped collar for quick release should my dog get tangled up or caught on a branch. The clip is really strong. But does allow an easy release:l which isn’t alway the case in clipped collars… I have had other makeshift collars where it may be a strong clip, but it’s near impossible to actually unclip.
This J-K9 clip also has a Velcro strap for additional strength.
