I did not spot that, although the unit supplied is fitted with natural gas jets, the propane jets are included in the components included. ………. much as I did not see these at first (and wrote off to ask about them) ……. I hope this message will allay others similar questions!!
I have tested but not permanent installed this unit yet as I’m still in the process of finishing my trailerable boat that is 8.2 foot by 28 foot boat. I have items doing double duty where possible and the 11 lb. propane tank takes up less space than a 20 pounder plus it has a duel line for both this burner and the on demand hot water heater. That means the solar panels/batteries/inverter system can power other items with less drain from the galley or head. This is just the right size for my galley and with a handmade cutting board cover, when I don’t need to use this gas stovetop, it’s out of the way. I used this on a table for a few weeks before installing it in the boat. It worked great in my temporary outdoor kitchen and when I get the chance, I will probably install another one of these in a permanent outdoor kitchen. Love to cook with gas – the adjustable flames, the quick on/off an just so easy to use.
This looks like it will be easy to clean. It has nice flames on both burners. It did not come with any fittings to hook up propane so that was a bit of a bummer. It took a few trips to the hardware store to get this installed. The directions were of no help at all so if you are uncomfortable with the thought of doing the conversion there are other units for a bit more money that come more complete. But this unit feels soild and I expect that it will hold up well for me, so this is not a purchase that I regret.
Initial observations..
The Karinear is truly a very compact two burner gas top range with a low price point. The build quality is adequate, but understandably the gauge-thickness of the sheet metal is relatively thin, and the burner grate that I received didn’t allow my pans to sit flat and level. I actually had to straighten one of the grate fingers back to parallel. So while not perfect, once installed in my BBQ area I found it a better gas stovetop option than the small portable units I’d been using.
My install..
I placed the cooktop in my BBQ area and in a corner, surrounded by brickwork. I had my sub-contractor install the natural gas line to the stovetop. I already have natural gas installed for the BBQ. Overall the installation was quick as the cooktop is basically ‘connect-ready’ for an approved gas line. And the igniter units, which are powered by 110-120 vac, were ready to use as the unit I received had a pre-wired line with standard plug end.
First few uses..
Per the instructions, it is suggested that you push and hold the burner knobs, pointed at the MAX FLAME icon, for 10 to 15 seconds to ‘start’ the burner. Once you let up on the knob, which will stop the electric igniter, the burner should remain lit. I found that once I start using either burner, both tended to relight without any issue. In the user’s manual it’s also stated that you can ignite the burners using a common match.
When I first used the cooktop, and for grilling onions in a 12-inch cast iron skillet on the back burner, I realized that the skillet’s size (diameter) nearly eclipsed the front burner. I had little to no room for an additional cooking utensil on the front burner. While I fully understood why that was so, given the very compact overall size of the cooktop, and specifically its depth, I felt that to be safe, I’d either be using one large pot or pan on the front or back burner, or two smaller pots or pans for both burners. Not really an issue, just an observation.
Overall opinon..
Given its economical price point and a compact size that perfectly fitted into my outdoor BBQ kitchen’s area, I’m very satisfied. For the limited space I have, I feel this cooktop very efficiently filled that space. And in a very small cooking area, best use of space takes priority.
Works well in my sprinter van camper . Only complaint is the rattling while driving. I have to disassemble while in motion.
This size of cooktops can go for anywhere between $100 to several $100’s depending on quality or brand. This one is priced in the lower bottom range. So you get what you pay for, it is a very light unit made of thin stainless steel (which should be easy to clean). All you need to do is connect gas line and if you do not have matches, plug it in a 120v outlet. However, it is reccomended that a qualified person install the gas line since there should be inspected for leaks (gas leaks are extremely dangerous and even a tiny electric spark when turning on a light can ignite it and cause an explosion. I can say it is an easy process because most of my life, I had gas ranges when living in PR because the cost of gas made them cheaper to operate (electricity there was always high and unreliable). This is a great little cooktop ideal for an RV, small cabinets, and so on.
This product has far exceeded my expectations. It’s easy to install, and comes with clear instructions. We cook on it at least once a day, and have had no issues when it comes to leaks, or construction. Super happy with this stove, and would certainly recommend it for anyone making a vanlife or skoolie conversion.
This product is a lightweight gas cooktop with a dual burner. It came well packed with no signs of damage. The package included some installation parts and a small installation manual with technical detail.
I like that this unit works both on LPG or Natural gas, you just need to change a small burner nuzzle which is included in the pack but tools to change the nozzles are not included.
The cooktop has a stainless steel surface which is easy to clean. The burner has an aluminum base with a black metal cap which comes out easily for cleaning.
I like the simple design, just two knobs which makes it easy to operate the cooktop. The burner gives off a consistent blue flame which I like. It has a push to turn type knob but when I removed these knobs I saw a thin plastic washer, not a rubber one which makes me question the durability of the cooktop. Even though it has two burners the burners are not placed very far apart so if you use bigger pans you may have trouble using both burners. I have noticed that the cooktop surface metal plate is very thin.
Overall it is a good cooktop which seems like a decent deal ($114.88 at time of review)
Great as a portable cook top. I’m mainly using it avoid stinking up the whole house when I’m searing steaks. This has been able to get my pans hot enough for great sears. No more having to air out the house anymore.
Perfect for our small camper. Fairly easy to install. Works great. Reasonably priced. I love it.
With limited space and having to use propane, this is the perfect addition to the cabin. Works great. Easy to convert to propane and looks way more modern than the rest of the cabin. We love it. It has been the perfect addition.
We are transferring half our workshop (with counter and bathroom ready) into a mother in law suite. We wanted a compact and simple cooktop so it won’t take too much space on the counter. The remodeling is still in process but the cooktop looks good and fit our budget. It seems wellmade. We did try to connect with our gas tank (from our BBQ grill) and we were able to turn it on with no problem. I will eventually update with more pics as the project goes.
Hobs doesn’t fit, but since I message them they had fix the problem, assured me all defects has be done on all products, let me keep the old one and given me a full refund, thankyou for everything, very easy process.
The sparkler runs on ac which for this product is not very smart it should be dual use.
Great looking burner but the burner housing is not level not allowing the burner caps to sit properly on. Need a replacement instead of refund please
Good quality used in caravan for 8 weeks and no issues
This stove had a gas leak inside the stove. When we tested and lit it, flames were coming out from under the unit. It nearly set the worktop on fire.
*****UPDATE*****
The company have assured that they have fixed the faulty part.
***UPDATE***

I replaced my old gas hob this Kariner had it sitting around for 2 months wating for it been installed. The big burner is great for the wok it’s easy to clean easy to use. Looks good
Lovely looking hob, easy to use and clean. Gas inlet pipe is at side not the back so made awkward fitting over a built in oven we managed it though.
We like the fact this hob cuts off if the heat is on for too long. Also looks very sleek and stylish.
Very happy with my purchase . I have small kitchen worktop and needed only 2 stoves .It does look expensive and stylish .Excellent purchase
It’s seems a good quality unit with a solid feel to it. Included with the unit as standard are both NG(Natural Gas) and PROPANE/BUTANE jets and also NG & PROPANE/BUTANE supply/hose connectors. Well packaged against transit damage by moulded polystyrene, covered in plastic and enclosed in a cardboard outer box.
Absolutely love this product. It’s gorgeous and very easy to clean. Berry happy with it and a great price too!
