I’m new to induction so my positive experience of this hob after using gas for so many years could apply to any brand.
The full power is impressive but obviously you can’t put all rings on full, so bring each pot to boil then ‘3’ seems to be the magic number to simmer on.
Lower powers work in pulse mode, which I found weird at first but now I love it because it helps prevent pans boiling over.
Having ring timers is a major plus.
I took off a star because the childlock button is too close to a ring, so if the pot strays over the button it activates and is hard to turn off by holding finger on it when it’s too hot!
Having always cooked with gas I wasn’t sure how I’d get on with an induction hob. I have to say, I love it. The rings have a setting from 1 to 9. I tend to start everything off on 5 and adjust accordingly. It’s just as responsive as gas when turning up or down. And so easy to keep clean using just white vinegar and a microfiber cloth.
Great induction cooker. Was reluctant at first as always had gas. Fantastic that it was already hardwired so literally plugged it in.
Temperature goes up and down quickly as you require and lock system good. Still works if water splashes onto surface. Slight hum when cooker on but hardly noticeable. Great buy, wish I had gone induction sooner. NB: Pans must be magnetic for cooker to work as will not heat up! Just pop a magnet underneath a pan if it sticks you’re good to go! X
Only fitted the new induction hob today. So far so good. Seems to heat up food so much quicker as the heat is only under the pan. (Use induction compatible pans only) child lock is a great idea.
So easy to keep clean and looks great.
I love the clean simplicity of this hob. I’ve always found touch control hobs unintuitive and difficult to use. Also, features like timers sound like a good idea, but just add to the complexity – I’ve not had a timer on a hob for years, so why start now? The Karinear has one on/off touch control, then two rotary knobs. Simple. Easy to use. Easy to see what you have set. This is really well designed.
Cooking: As near to gas as you can get using electricity, better actually because I find it more controllable.
Fans: The unit has a fan underneath that keeps the hob temperature controlled. It comes on when you start using the hob at a low speed, then ramps up if you use the hob for a long time. I don’t find this intrusive, it is similar to that produced by a fan oven or microwave, so to be expected. The fans are hidden anyway, which helps, because they sit underneath the unit which is built into the worktop.
Power level: this hob can be used with a 13 amp socket, this was important to me because I have it installed on a boat. There is plenty of power to get a really hot stir-fry going, or big casserole. I don’t think the extra power would have helped me, just meant added complexity of having to use a 16amp circuit. This is perfect.
Took me a while to get use to using electric, also induction, always used gas.
Although I had new saucepans, stainless steel, I should of done my research before purchasing, as I thought my hob was faulty, couldnt turn on, I read the instructions, only realising my pans were not fit for purpose.
Not for an induction.
Made redundant, so cost me not just in time, but money,so warning to all,if your changing from gas to electric, read up on what you can use, prior to purchase.
Took me a while, but now love using my hob, cleaner, slimmer ,makes my kitchen look like a show kitche
