Great product, does the job. Never going to lock myself out again.
Heavy duty, well designed. Space for at least two cylinder lock keys as found on standard double glazed external doors. Needs Torx driver for included masonry fixings. Straighthood ward to set up with right tools
First thing I noticed was the weight, a lot heavier than I expected. Feels solid and well made. The screws go straight into the masonry and I managed to snap the head off one but the other 3 are solid and I’ve no concerns of it falling off the wall. Easy to set up the code and has always locked and unlocked when required. A very sturdy key safe.
I bought this key safe because I feel quite vulnerable living on my own and I worried that if I was taken ill no one would be able to get to me. The key safe is made of steel and is very robust. My neighbour fitted it for me without any problems. It is very easy to use.
I now have peace of mind and the added bonus is I don’t need to worry about carrying my key when I go out.
I would definitely recommend this one rather than the cheaper dial models which can be easily broken in to.
As described. The only downside is that you need a special drill end to put tamper proof screws in.

A robust piece of kit, which is easy to use.
I had to buy a new long masonry drill bit for the screw holes but this only cost about 3 locally. The item worked exactly as I had hoped. You can choose any length of combination but the numbers and the two letters can not be repeated. I’m glad I chose this one. It was easy to install, robust and does the job securely.

The number keys could do with being more prominent. I dont wear bifocals or varifocals but use ‘driving glasses’ and ‘reading glasses’ to aid my sight. I’ll now have to take my reading glasses with mre every where or persevere with the other types of glasses. Otherwise fitting by a kind neighbour was straight forward. The neighbour does have the special type of drill required.
Instructions easy to follow to set the code number. Lock feels very sturdy and works well when secured to the wall.

This is a strong, well built key box. A word of advice – don’t entirely pull out the clear plastic sticking out the top of the unit. It’s designed so that you can pull down the weather proof cover easily before the unit is attached to the wall. Without it, it will be near impossible to lower the weather proof cover. I saw on someone else’s review they had painted the numbers white so they can be seen easily – fab idea! Done this myself and makes it so much easier to see numbers.
Easy to install, screws seem pretty secure in brickwork. Only thing is that the code is not sequential, it’d just the 4 digits e.g. for a code of 1234 you could punch in 4312 and it would still unlock. I don’t think that’s a massive issue but might be worth mixing in the available letters in the combination.
Great little gadget to keep keys safe all year round
The unit was well made and feels solid. My only criticism is that the numbers on the buttons are black and raised on a black background. Given the price I would have thought that a touch of white paint on the tops of the letters and numbers would have been in-budget – it certainly would have helped usability enormously.

The key safe is being used in connection with a lifeline. Giving the person confidence of help at hand in an emergency.
Have been looking for a decent key safe for some time, and came across one of these at an Airbnb we recently used. It costs a lot more than the rest but there is a reason for that. It weighs an impressive 1.7 kg and is of solid construction. The instructions tell you how to fix it to a brick wall to make it compliant with the appropriate security standards, and all fixings are included. Took less than half and hour to install, and it’s easy enough for my young son to use. You will need to get a tamperproof T15 torx bit if you want to use the anti tamper feature of the code setting cover. It’s way better than the cheaper ones. Well recommended.
1. The box fits all normal size keys from Chubb to Yale (see the photos)
2. The screws fit properly and are very secure. A 5mm hole is required to be drilled into brickwork that is slightly longer than the screws.
3. The combination mechanism is secure. The fact that numbers don’t need to be entered sequentially does not make it insecure. It’s not possible to detect the number of numbers used in the code so trial and error attacks would not succeed without many hours effort. The only way it would become insecure is if all 12 letters and numbers were used as the code and an attacker tried that combination first.
My own comments are
1. It’s a heavy duty box, well made.
2. At first it feels complicated to set up but, in fact, once understood, it’s very straightforward.
3. It’s expensive but has the Police Certification which may help with an insurance claim if ever required.
Suggestions for improvements
1. The 4 screws/bolts are security types requiring a special driver head (Torx 30), this should be supplied with the product as most people will not possess one. IT CAN’T BE FITTED WITHOUT THIS AND IF YOU USE ALTERNATIVE BOLTS IT VOIDS THE SECURITY CERTIFICATION.
2. The numbers on the box are embossed in the black plastic frame and are therefore almost invisible against it. I brushed white enamel paint over them to make them (very) easy to see.
3. Given the non-sequential code, some guidance should be given about code choice and code length.
Would like numbering to be easier to read in low light levels

Installed for an elderly relative. Very substantial piece of equipment. Code changes not easy for an elderly person or person with reduced manual dexterity to achieve. Operation simple and straightforward. I have had one of these for about 5 years and it has been reliable and secure.
I put one of these at my father-in-law’s house so the home care staff could get in without making him answer the door.
I was a bit worried that you are effectively showing a burglar where the key is but it is very secure. It’s fitted directly into the brick with no rawl plugs making it extremely safe from attack. Also, if you try to force it open it without the code, the knob just spins. Setting it up with a new code was simple too.

I’m just glad I got someone else to drill into the outside wall to fit it up.
It looks easy enough, but make sure you have a strong drill and the right masonry bits.
Recommend by the Police, become familiar and simple to use. Drop down lid, punch numbers (Hear Clicks) turn handle to right 180 degrees to open. Keys are prevented from jamming, hang behind transparent barrier. Very strong a great bit of kit.
A great product but the numbers are difficult to see. I had to scrape the paint off them.
Not sure how weatherproof it will be but so far so good
1. You get what you pay for.
2. To the person who berated this product for its lack of quality, who supposedly has Banham, Chubb and Yale locks on his house, take that review with a pinch of salt!
3. When setting a combination, think “patterns” rather than worrying about choosing a specific code. This design suits patterns perfectly. The “hard to read letters and numbers” is again by design and adds to security.
4. The knob you turn to unlock the cover cannot be forced. It just turns if you exert excessive force on it with an incorrect combination. This is undoubtedly by design, and improves the devices security.
5. Having to depress the clear button after each incorrect combination is another design feature, making it very hard to crack your combination using the “automated devices that can open one of these in a few seconds, available on fleabay” useless.
6. The shape of the case is deliberately hard for anything to grip onto, making it harder to pull off the wall using brute force… As long as you fix it securely to your wall using the supplied fixings following the instructions supplied to the letter.
7. The correct number of possible combinations is 4095 (2 to the power of 12 (that being the number of keys that you can set) minus 1). This is more than enough given that all of these require completely manual, unhurried, unforced entry! Anyone would be there for a considerable time trying to guess the right combination. If this worries you, and I suggest it shouldn’t consume you with worry given this key safes sturdy design, then consider supplementing it with a security camera overlooking your KeySafe.
8. This P500 Key Safe is robust! Properly heavy and sturdy, with real weight to it. How ANYONE could possibly compare it to something cheaper is ridiculous. This keysafe is engineered from quality materials. I am not berating Chinese products, this is made in China too. They can make high quality products too, you just have to pay more for them!
9. This key safe is made by KIDDE.
If one person benefits from reading my honest review then it will have been worthwhile to write it.
This is the second key safe we have purchased. One for our elderly father at 95 and one for ourselves. There are others on the market but this one rates highly on robustness. There are clear instructions to follow. Would highly recommend this product.
Very pleased with this. Some key holders don’t look very strong but this one really is. You need a special screwdriver if you use the screws included so I used regular ones of a similar strength. Good product.

Easy to install and easy to use. The only thing is the pin code can’t have repeat characters so a bit limited on code options. Otherwise a ver heavy duty key lock.

This is hugely heavy and solid, with sensible and practical instructions for securing it to a wall. The four bolts are beasts and with Torx heads they are not easily coming off. Follow the instructions carefully, and use a 5mm drill like it says in the instructions, not a 10mm drill like the person who found the bolts would not purchase in the hole. It feels about as secure as a thing could be to me.
EASY TO USE – GOOD
A rain cover, buttons that sit out clearly, all big enough to be used by my fat fingers in winter at night. Easy to press, easy to turn the lock, easy to open and sits open under gravity whilst you fish out your precious keys. The receptacle inside is not large, but it fits the five large keys I have in there with room to spare.
“OVER 4000 COMBINATIONS” – FEWER THAN I EXPECTED BUT GOOD ENOUGH
As others have said, you can press the combo in any order and it opens. I was not expecting this, but it is exactly as advertised. Basically, you choose which of the 12 buttons need to be pressed, no matter what order. You choose which of 1, 2, 3… up to 12 of the 12 buttons that need to be pressed. And so this is not the same as a million combinations, it is a bit more than 4000 combinations, as advertised. For a casual or opportunistic thief, this will do the trick. For a pro who has targeted you, you’re going to lose everything whatever your security.
To put it another way, I would prefer this KeySafe which is built like a tank and with 4000ish combinations than some other weaker/lighter KeySafe with a million combinations. I sleep at night knowing my precious keys are tucked up safely in this vault.

Need a good piwer drill to make bolt holes and to put in bolts but instructions are good and my dog walker can get in house when we are at work. Paid for quality and security above cheaper products out there

Perfect, use this for my elderly relative and hasn’t let us down at all! Item is very heavy and feels robust. No problem getting in or out of safe. Much better than 25 master lock safes — Get what you pay for!

Bought a few months ago, Really works great and cover keeps out the rain where I located it.
I like this because of the protective flap. Easy to use but a bit fiddly. Also easy to change the combination. Nice and strong. I would advise putting it where it is not possible to hit it with a hammer because I don’t know how long it would stand up to this type of attack.
Fitting the Key Safe was very straight forward. When the code was set the opening proved to be very straight forward to operate.
Screws not man enough for job so used my own.
Took a bit of getting use to as not as easy in the dark as the last one we had. That was 15 years old.
We are all able to use it now in the dark and have trialed it now for over 3 months
Seems decent enough, I can definitely say a sledge hammer would smash this in half! But put it out of site and shroud it should be fine for purpose. My only real dislike is the rain cover easily falls down so I had to fit some rubber on the inside to hold it in place.
The biggest flaw is easily and cheaply rectified, black code letters/numerals on a black background are very difficult to see. The manufacturers need to buy some white paint!

There is no doubt that this is a quality robust item. However quite disappointed that the numbers and letters are black on a black background and are hard to see in daylight or shade and impossible in low light and after dark without a torch. I will have to paint the numbers in, which is a shame for such a quality item.
Exactly as specified. A chunky item. Preferred my own wall fittings but those supplies are good too. Easy to use. In fact it’s accessed every day.
You can create a code of several numbers plus a choice of 2 letters, although access can be gained by putting the correct code in any order, rather than a specific sequence.
Creating a code of six digits out of 12 gives 924 possible combinations, rather than only 210 possible combinations for the more common key boxes that allow s selection of four from 10 numbers.

Since that point we’ve also sold a house through eMoov and they use this product to keep a viewings key on site.
I beleive this key safe is the best and most secure of its type on the market and will serve it’s purpose well.
There were two niggling faults…
1. One of the four anchoring bolts snapped as I was installing it. Therefore my unit is only installed with three bolts.
2. The safe has a very noisy clunk to it as you press the buttons due to a 2mm gap between the door and the body. I remedied this by putting some sticky back Velcro in the gap between the door and the main body (see photos).
This key safe is police approved and robust. I had difficulty setting the code up from the instructions but the helpline was fast and efficient and quickly guided me through it.
Strong and sturdy.

Code can be entered in any sequence.

This is a very solid and rugged key safe. Easy to install and use. No problems so far. Built like a tank compared to the Masterlock one I purchased initially.
I am so pleased with this purchase, it was expensive but worth every penny, It was easy to fit, very robust and solid and great for its purpose! Would definitely recommend!
Very very heavy so feels substantial but have not put it up yet. I will be using this on my front door so need added security. I have a different key safe on my back door which now feels flimsy by comparison. But it is considerably more expensive than others on the market. Would have given 5 stars except for the price.
I wanted a lock that was secure and this one is but some carers have found it difficult to use and open.
Feels very robust – much more so than other standard safes. Yet to install – if any problems I will update. Otherwise highly recommended.
Update. The only issue I has was that two of the bolts supplied to fix to the wall sheared off. This was despite following the instructions to the letter. Has to use replacement ones which seemed to be better made and no problems encountered .
Arrived very quickly which was much appreciated. Heavy and strong. Fairly easy to set up. Numbers on buttons are a little difficult to see in the dark due to black buttons.

I delayed fitting it however, until I was clear about the insurance implications. I needed to know that if a burglar broke into my safe, would this be the same as breaking into my house and that I would, therefore be covered by insurance. My current insurer prevaricated and others simply said that the policy would not be prejudiced my the fitting of a key safe (which tells you nothing). Only John Lewis Insurance made the unequivocal statement, that breaking into the key safe would be treated as if the burglar had broken into the house and that I would be covered. So be careful to check your insurance before you fit a key safe.
