Perfect for my tiled floor, does the job in no time

It’s ok but expected better for price. It’s heavy hard to carry around and frankly a bit ugly. Difficult to change wet dirty rollers as it’s hard to keep this heavy mop in place while doing it. The rollers need to be scrubbier as takes a lots of pass overs to remove stubborn marks. I still have to steam clean. Disappointed.

As with other karcher products, the Floor Cleaner is great quality and provides an effortless, quick drying finish.

Been looking at getting one of these for a while as we have hard floors through most of the house and although combined with two cats can be a pain to keep clean, couldn’t justify the near 400 price. However when this was dropped to 200 didn’t miss the chance. Cleans great. A bit of a faff at first but you soon get use to the set up, clean up etc. Definitely recommended.

The nice thing about Krcher products is you know they’re going to be robust, and take a bit of wear and tear before they start to go wrong. This is a decently robust piece of kit with a large enough battery and long enough running time to clean a lot of floor before it needs recharging.

It comes with a charger, a stand and the two cleaning rollers, which you twist on to the cleaner before use and twist off again to wash and then fit onto the stand to dry out (and thus avoid any bacterial smells). It also comes with a little bottle of detergent.

The cleaner is NOT a brush. You need to clean away all the twigs, stones and other small objects your dogs and children have helpfully deposited. This cleaner is to lift the dust and grime from the floor and leave your floor properly clean. the mechanism is the usual: clean water gets dripped onto the cleaning rollers, the rollers rotate under battery power, and the dirty water gets sucked up into a second dirty-water tank. Could you do the same with a mop and bucket? Well, yes you could, but it’s a lot more effort, and you won’t manage to clean so uniformly across the whole floor. Your floor is lefy damp but not soaking wet, so it makes sense to back towards the door so you don’t need to walk over the clean floor while it’s still wet. The clean and dirty water tanks are clear, and easy to refill (required infrequently) and empty (typically once per use). The rollers, once removed, are very easy to clean by rinsing, and the studs for them on the floor stand mean that they get to dry thoroughly.

So, if it is just a battery-powered mop and bucket, what’s the advantage? It’s the ease of use. I might clean all the hard floors in my house (a mixture of lino and terracotta tiles) once every coulple of weeks if I need to do it the traditional way. With the Krcher floor cleaner, it’s a five-minute job to clean a whole floor, so I can do it every couple of days easily. Which means I have (relatively) sparkly, shiny floors!

I WILL SAY THIS STRAIGHT AWAY., ” THAT IS A LOT EASIER ‘. ALSO AS THAT USES WARM WATER, THE FLOOR DRYS A LOT QUICKER. WHERE THE KARCHER FC5 WINS OVER, IS THE RIGHT UP TO THE EDGE CLEANING. WHEN CLEANING AT RIGHT ANGLES, UP TO A CUPBOARD & AROUND THE RIGHT ANGLE, FOR INSTANCE, IT CAN BE AWKWARD. BEFORE BEGINNING CLEANING YOU NEED TO FILL THE CLEAN WATER TANK AT THE FRONT TO THE MAXIMUM LEVEL ( PLEASE SEE PHOTOS ) . WHILST FILLING THE TANK, YOU ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF CLEANING AGENT ( THERE IS A SMALL BOTTLE INCLUDED ) . YOU ARE THEN READY TO GO. I FOUND THAT YOU HAVE TO KEEP TO MAINLY STRAIGHT LINES, AS IF YOU WASH DIAGONALLY , YOU DO GET DIAGONAL STREAKS. IN ONE OF THE PHOTOS, I HAVE DELIBERATELY LET MY FOUR LEGGED FAMILY MEMBER TO WANDER OVER THE AREA & SPILT DRIPS OF COFFEE & TEA IN THE AREA AND ALLOWED THEM TO DRY OUT, IN SHORT I HAVE LET IT GET MUCKY DELIBERATELY FOR THIS REVIEW. AS IT USES COLD WATER, IT TAKES LONGER TO DRY. ALSO PICK A ROUTE FOR THE CLEANING, SO THAT YOU DON’T HAVE TO STEP ON PARTS THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY CLEANED, AS ANOTHER DISADVANTAGE OF USING COLD WATER IS THAT IF YOU STEP ON AN AREA THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY CLEANED, YOU WILL MARK IT, AND HAVE TO CLEAN IT AGAIN. WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED YOUR CLEANING JOB, PLACE THE ‘FC5’ BACK IN THE STAND, UNCLIP THE DIRTY WATER TANK & TIP THE DIRTY WATER & DEBRIS AWAY. YOU THEN HAVE TO ADD CLEAN WATER INTO THE AREA THAT THE DIRTY WATER TANK SITS & RUN THE ‘FC5’ FOR 20 SECONDS. I THEN RINSED OUT THE DIRTY WATER TANK & CLIPPED IT BACK INTO THE MAIN BODY OF THE ‘FC5’. IN ONE OF THE PHOTOS YOU CAN SEE HOW WELL THE ‘ KARCHER FC5 ‘ HAS LEFT THAT MUCKY AREA & I THINK THAT YOU WILL AGREE, THAT THE DIFFERENCE IS REMARKABLE. WHATS MORE, THAT AREA ONLY TOOK SECONDS TO CLEAN. AS I TOUCHED UPON EARLIER IN THIS REVIEW, THE USE OF COLD WATER MEANS THAT IT DOES TAKE LONGER TO DRY. IT ALSO USES A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF THE BATTERIES POWER. I HAVE QUITE A SMALL KITCHEN & I CLEANED VERY NEARLY ALL OF IT WITH THE ‘ KARCHER FC5 ‘ & IT USED OVER HALF OF THE CHARGE. THE FACT THAT THE ‘ KARCHER FC5 ‘ PICKS UP SMALL AMOUNTS OF DEBRIS & CLEANS RIGHT UP TO THE EDGE GIVES IT THE EDGE OVER THE POPULAR STEAM CLEANER. FOR THE CLEANING OF LARGE OPEN AREAS – DEBRI FREE – I WOULD PICK THE STEAM CLEANER, ALL DAY LONG AS, THE FLOOR DRIES QUICKER, THE PADS CAN BE WASHED AT 60* & IT HAS MORE THAN ONE FUNCTION.. I CANNOT GIVE THE ‘ KARCHER FC5, 5 STARS. THE EASE OF SETTING UP & CLEANING IT OUT AFTERWARDS, IS A BIT OF MESSING ABOUT, THE FLOOR DOESN’T DRY QUICKLY ENOUGH & IT ONLY HAS THE ONE FUNCTION/USE. IF I COULD AWARD 3.5 STARS, I THINK THAT WOULD BE A TRUER AWARD. I AM NOT GOING TO SAY SOMETHING IS EXCELLENT, WHEN IN MY OPINION IT ISN’T….

There will come a time when pouring boiling water into a mop bucket and scrubbing the floors will become a thing of the past, and this FC5 cleaner is pushing things in the right direction. Its an excellent cleaner, but is it worth the hefty price tag?

In our house we have a mixture of wooden floors, heavy tiles, and lino, so using this was gonna be fun, mainly because the kitchen tiles have seen better days. (Pictures to follow)

This is NOT a lightweight machine, its heavy but that helps to make you feel like you are doing some heavy duty cleaning. Just pop some water and a bit of detergent into the cleaning tank, and away you go. Surprisingly, this gets into corners better than I expected, and is not as cumbersome as i thought. Its quite versatile actually. The wet (and hopefully clean) floors dry rather quickly with a noticeable difference. When finished, just pop it back into the charging point. You can empty the water quickly enough and rinse the brushes if you like, after every wash.

Remember, this is not a vacuum cleaner, so just as you wouldn’t mop your floor without vacuuming, use the same logic here.

Now, is it worth the almost 500 for the please of having a fancy Mop? Only if you have more money than sense,, luckily, my bank balance is bigger than my brain, so this is a good buy 🙂

We have a lot of hard flooring (a combination of tiles, vinyl and laminate) and I have always hated the amount of time it takes to vacuum the floor then mop it, rinse it and wait for it to dry. The new Karcher Floor Cleaner is brilliant and means can do everything in one pass with just a quick whizz around the edges with a vacuum to catch any stubborn bits stuck right in the corners. It’s amazing to see how much stuff it sucks up, even off what we thought was a reasonably clean floor, and the floors dry really quickly. All in all it means that I’ve slashed the amount of time and effort cleaning the floors takes and I’m less likely to keep putting the job off as it’s no longer a major task. Cleaner floors and less work so I’m happy!

I’ve not long gotten hard flooring in my living room and dining room, so combined with the bathroom and kitchen I have plenty of floors to keep clean. I’ve been using a mop so was pleased to give this cleaner a go!

Set up was quite straight forward, you slot the handle into the main unit with a click. There’s a black stand that the cleaner goes onto in order to keep it upright. Plug it in to charge and a bright green light lets you know how much charge remains. You slot the two rollers in which are colour coded so you know which side it belongs to. You receive a mini trial bottle of karcher detergent. You only need a small amount so should be good for 2-3 uses.

I was surprised by how heavy the cleaner is especially when you have filled the water tank up. However, once it’s on the rollers spin and the cleaner moves easily. I was also surprised by the noise it makes once I switched it on, it wasn’t what I was expecting and is a little louder than expected.

Cleaning my floors was easy and I could go right up the the edges. It claims the floors will be dry within 2minutes but that definitely isn’t the case with me, however they do dry slot quicker compared to using a mop! The cleaner sucks the dirty water off the rollers and it goes into a waste bucket which you need to remember to empty before you top the water tank up. I was surprised by how dirty the water was after cleaning my floor so I’m going to be using this more regularly!

Overall I am impressed and am pleased at how clean my floors are after using this cleaner, without the excessive water and drying times I experience when using a mop and bucket.

I have a tiled kitchen floor and am delighted with the performance of this machine. The tiles look cleaner and feel smoother under stocking feet – which I never quite achieved with my old mop.
It comes well packaged – unfortunately in polystyrene. We found it really hard to put together which sounds odd considering you’re just pushing the handle onto the head but it needed two of us, a pusher and an immovable force.
The two rollers fit on snuggly, there is a cleaning fluid tank on the front and a dirty water tank on the back.
It comes with a tiny 5ml bottle of cleaning fluid which will still give you a fair few washes (I don’t empty out the front tank with the cleaning solution in, just keep it till next time.)
It is quite a heavy machine but fairly manoeuvrable. Keep it at a 60 angle while using.
It’s partly a vacuum cleaner, though I’d go round with a proper one to get dog hairs etc, but that’s handy for crumbs and little stuff.
Before starting put 50ml of water in the stand where the rollers sit and put the machine on – still in stand – for 30secs to wet rollers. When you finish your floor pour 200ml in the stand by the rollers, switch on and let this be sucked round to clean rollers and machine. Empty the back tank and rinse out.
You will need space to store this, near a plug to keep the charge up.
Very pleased with this and hope it lasts.

Having used a couple of steam cleaners in the past, and not been impressed, I was somewhat wary about the capabilities of this machine. However, after using it for the first time, I was won over. This is a great piece of kit.

Initial assembly was not entirely straightforward. The handle has to be inserted into the main body of the machine, and there is an electrical cord preattached that joins the two together. This has to be positioned in a groove on the underside of the handle, but this is not mentioned anywhere in the excessively minimalist instructions. Other than that, everything fits together well, and the machine has a pleasingly high-quality feel to it.

It’s simple to fill the reservoir with water and add detergent; it’s equally easy to empty and clean the dirty water tank. The floor-cleaning performance is very good. It has rotating microfibre drums which use the water and detergent from the reservoir to clean the floor; these are then transferred by vacuum force into the waste tank. I found that stains, dirt and small items were removed efficiently, and that the floor dried very quickly afterwards, probably because this machine uses much less water than manual mopping. It also covers a fairly large floor area much more quickly than I had anticipated.

In operation the machine is slightly heavy, but I found that it could be operated quite easily with practice. The rollers tend to pull the machine across the floor away from the operator, which is a bit disconcerting at first but actually reduces the overall effort needed to move it about.

This is one gadget that won’t be gathering dust in a cupboard, and I think that my floors will henceforth be cleaner than ever before. Highly recommended!

This is the first time I’ve come across a floor cleaner as well as a vacuum built into one, it only vacuums up light debris but is impressive nonetheless.
I’ve used and owned Krcher products before i.e pressure jet sprays and they have always been very good do I was I intrigued when I came across this.
This hardwood floor cleaner is just the description states, it cleans edge to edge and is simple to use. Click back the handles and attach the rollers, they go as far as colour coding the rollers so you don’t waste time figuring out your left to right. You then fill the tank, add some detergent (30ml bottle detergent is included) and away you. It literally just takes a couple of minutes for the water to dry and the cleaning power is impressive, it was able to clean the oil stains on the kitchen floor efficiently and effectively. Once your done attach it back to its charge point, give the rollers a quick rinse and empty the dirty water tank and you are done. All is described within the manual.
I’m just impressed by its mobility and cleaning credentials.

This is an upright hoover crossed with a steam cleaner, in that clean water goes to the rollers, which pick up the floor muck, and the dirty water is sucked off them into a dirty water tank. Each tank is quite small, much smaller than the bucket I’d use with a mop- more comparable to a steam cleaner.

The whole machine isn’t light, but the rollers are the main contact to the ground, so it zips around very nimbly. This makes it feel unusual compared to a vacuum, because whereas with a vacuum you need to do the pushing, this device wants to roll along of its own accord and your arm strength is used in holding it back, rather than pushing it on- which takes a little getting used to!

Unlike a vacuum, the rollers go right to the edge, so it picks up the marks at the edges of the floor, which is a plus.

However, there isn’t a lot of abrasion from the rollers, so it takes extra intervention to get stubborn marks or drops off. To be honest this is a little bit disappointing, from a brand that I’m accustomed to thinking of as ‘industrial strength’, because it puts a limit on the ease-of-use aspect of it.

Using less water does mean the floor dries fast, so for a quick whip round, it suits very well. With any such machine there is the cleaning of the machine itself to do- the dirty water tank to empty, the rollers to wash, etc.- but none of these tasks is too onerous, thankfully. All the parts are solidly made and easy to work with. It sits firmly on the stand, and overall the manufacture is very sound, as you’d expect from this leading brand.

It comes with a tiny bottle of detergent, which is a plus I suppose, but it’s such a small bottle that it borders on silly.

As an incidental note, it’s slightly quieter than a vacuum cleaner, but the noise it gives off is slightly strange. It’s essentially two noises, a fairly refined vacuum suction sound, but also a weird almost vocal-like whining which my family agreed sounds a bit like an angry ghost. It’s the latter sound obviously which spoils the sense of refinement.

It’s clean and quick, perfect for sweeping up a few mucky footprints, but your floor will still need a vacuuming prior or after for a complete clean, as well as some extra help on any stuck dirt- so considering the current asking price, it is a little disappointing that it doesn’t provide the all-in-one solution I’d been hoping for.

I am so impressed with this brilliant floor cleaner.

I have kardean flooring in the kitchen, laminate in our dining room, Porcelain tiles in the conservatory and granite tiles in our utility area. All of these are suitable areas to use the karcher hard floor cleaner.

Setting up the machine is super easy- you simply press the handle in until it clicks and push the rollers on at the bottom – the rollers are colour coded.

You then pull out the tank – fill with water and cleaning lotion – it comes with a small bottle of karcher cleaner but I decided to use zoflora as I love the fragrance, you only need a capful. Then away you go. (Mine already had some charge in it so was able to try straight away).

You press the on button and it wizzes into action. It takes very little effort to use, it kind of goes by itself. When it goes forward the liquid is released automatically. You are advised to use it by pushing it forwards then pulling it backwards.

I am so impressed with the cleaning power. It literally goes right into the edges and vacuums small pieces of dirt as it goes.

It states it dries in 2 minutes and it really does.

Once finished you unclip the dirty water tank which is on the back, you then simply run it under the tap. The bottom rollers easily pull out and are machine washable.

The cleaner sits neatly in its stand and hardly takes up any room.

A full charge takes just over 2 hours and I found this was more than enough for me to clean the kitchen, dining room, utility and conservatory.

I am very pleased with this cleaner and highly recommend it.
