This is a very well made machine, It is well designed with all the functions easy to do. Suction is good, emptying is easy. If it lasts as long as my previous one I will be well pleased.
I use this for cleaning/drying my outside decking, it sucks up all the water effortlessly, clearing up leaves & other mess as it goes, is very lightweight around the garden & easy to empty & clean afterwards with a simple rinse of the lightweight bottom unit after lifting off the (heavy) motor part.
Great unit.
Not used it inside for dry use but I’m sure the performance will be just as good, this is great for anything you wouldn’t want your domestic cleaner to do.
We purchased the WD5 model. It’s been a fantastic tool to collect leaves, moss, small twigs. Along with other types of garden mess you would normally use a sweeping brush for.
My grandson said that it looks like a minion.
It doesn’t even matter if it’s a windy day as you can still hoover up without any issues.
It can get blocked from time to time. Especially where the connection from the hose tube bends/turns slightly to the internal hoover bag. This has happened on a few occasions now, mostly when sucking up a lot of leaves or twigs.
It’s fairly straightforward to unblock, you turn it off, pull the handle down then lift the top part of the karcher and off. Then using your fingers detach the hoover bag from the connection inside and pull out anything that has got stuck.
Once you’ve used it a few times you notice pretty quickly that either the suction power has changed or there is a change in the noise that will indicate a small blockage.
I have had one of the karcher bags break, which is annoying because they are expensive at nearly 15 for four bags. It would also be good if the power cable was an extra couple of metres longer.
But overall I would recommend it. So far we haven’t had any need to buy any of the additional tools that are available for this model. The tools supplied suit our needs perfectly.
I have also tried the blowing function which works reasonably well and is quite strong (not a good as a garden blower obviously) but good enough.
Movement wise, it rolls around very well on its wheels and all the attachments supplied can be attached to the body of the hoover so you always have them with you if needed.
Inside can get dusty, even with using the hoover bags. The filter has a self clean function, which seems to work for the most part but can be a bit hit and miss.
It’s not too hard to give it a quick wipe down after using, inside and out if you wanted.
When hoovering with the floor attachment and both pipes connected, it’s a good length so you’re not bending your back too much. Which is a must for me.
I haven’t used it to soak up any liquid yet, so I am unable to say how will that function works
The hoover come in its own designed box, a massive and heavy box , looks like the old fashion vacuum cleaners :)the hoover needs to be assembled but is easy and doesn’t take more than 5-7 min .the hoover seems to me a bit to heavy and bulky maybe because we are all used to now with the slim wireless hoovers but this remembers of my parents using one like this however this vacuum cleaner has only one setting for both surfaces carpet and hard floor , very good suction even lift it up my rug while cleaning , not a problem in cleaning every kind of dirt or hair , my little girl played with lots of art and craft tone day and this hoover did an excellent job in cleaning all the glitter ,sand and other bits from the sofa and carpet .The unit itself is a bit heavy especially for my wife who said she cant really carry this on the stairs in order to clean them or even go upstairs to clean the rooms , in my opinion this is more suitable for offices, restaurantspubs , community centres than in a house. the blower works good i just test it on my back garden and i was pleased with this functio
This is a really powerful hoover, feels robust and can tackle even the worst job. Suction is so powerful, and has cleaned my floors much better than my regular stick hoover. The machine is quite heavy but worth it for the clean it gives.
I absolutely love this vacuum cleaner – Firstly, look at the photo above. As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I cannot be the only person who has noticed that this model could quite easily pass as a SW droid! It looks super cute, so that is a star straight away for me. However, looks are not the only gift this has to offer – This vacuum cleaner has incredible suction power that has left our carpets looking better than they have for a long time. My previous vacuum was another popular branded wet and dry cleaner, but it was getting a little old and tired. This vacuum is in a whole league of it’s own – I haven’t even used the wet setting yet, but am very pleased with the results from the dry hoover.
The hoover itself has a 25 litre capacity and a 2.2 metre suction hose. There are an array of fittings that can be added to the hose, including two extender pipes, a crevice nozzle and a floor head. All of these work great and have space on the body of the vacuum for storage. If I had to gripe about this hoover, I would raise two points; The 5m cable length is far shorter than my previous machine, and I have to unplug it in order to vacuum my dining room. That is a small nuisance, I know, but still – with a machine of this size and capability, it would have been nice to have a longer cable to allow for greater coverage. Secondly, the fittings for the accessories are not brilliant, in particular the clips for the hose and the vacuum head. The hose clip often falls off when I am carrying it around my home, which is rather a nuisance. However, overall this vacuum is really impressive – a high capacity cylinder and really powerful suction makes this an easy win in my book.
If you want a BIG powerful vacuum cleaner then look no further. You can use it for wet and dry cleaning, inside or outside, powerful suction and it even blows. The blow function would be really useful for getting shavings, dust and sawdust out of those awkward nooks and crannies in the workshop and machinery. When using this function the air is rather warm and the hose gets warm too so I would say that it is suitable for quick blowing of something like shavings or dust but not suitable for continued use such as leaf blowing for any length of time.
It’s 25 litres, that’s huge and it has a large flock bag to go with it, will be ages before that needs emptying.
The filter is easy to remove for cleaning. The top section is so easy to take off and replace compared to the older versions. You just push the big handle forward to release and back again to lock the top in place, no more lining the top up and using those awful clips of previous models.
Assembly was easy, just five wheels to push on and the black tool support which also clipped on easily
Suction is great, a little fierce for household use but if you can handle the force, that’s fine and it has a lever which you can press to clear the filter. …cool.
It comes with a floor tool which has a rocker switch to either extend brushes or squeegee depending on if you are vacuuming wet or dry material. Two extension poles and a crevice tool are also included.
I would recommend if you have the space for a large vacuum cleaner although you would have to be pretty strong if you want to use it on your carpets. Great for a workshop though we got this to replace our old workshop Karcher vacuum which is a lot smaller than this one.
I’m giving it 4 stars. I found the blow function disappointing and the price quite high, having said that both our old Karcher vacuum and our Karcher pressure washer have been going for many years without a hiccup so perhaps it is indeed worth the price of 151.24 at time of writing.
This has a really large capacity and both the hoover and the blower are extremely powerful. It’s easy to put the bits together and even though it’s heavy, once the wheels are on it’s easy to manoeuvre. This sucked up all sorts of dust and dirt with ease. Bag is strong as are all the attachments. This is an excellent price, such good value from a reliable brand. A great wholesome cleaner that does the mucky wet jobs too. Highly recommended
This Karcher wet/dry vacuum does need some assembling. It took my hubby around 10 minutes to assemble this vacuum – it was straightforward.
I tested this vacuum on wooden floors and carpets. This vacuum only has one setting despite the surface your vacuuming. The suction was very strong; it was literally lifting up my carpet which was impressive. The vacuum picked up cat hairs and dirt without any problems. This vacuum picked up cat litter and dust from the wooden floors effortlessly. This vacuum is very noisy and the unit itself is bulky and heavy. This would be perfect for workshops, garages, offices or warehouses. It glides along the floors with ease but stairs would be a challenge to to its bulk and weight.
One dust bag is included but it costs around 14 for 4 bags so it’s an ongoing cost.
I tested the blower function in my back yard but I wasn’t very impressed with it. The blower wasn’t as strong as I thought it would be. It was quicker to brush the leaves than using the blower function.
This vacuum would be ideal for office or industrial use not so much for houses due to its size and bulk. The suction is impressive regardless of surface.
First thing we noticed about this vac is how large it is, you will need room for this, it won’t just fit in a small corner. The suction is very strong, I couldn’t push it away from myself, I could only pull it towards myself, so I had to take it slowly. It did a really good job of cleaning my carpets and the cat had made a mess with her scratching post; it’s old and she’d practically destroyed it today, but this vac made short work of picking all bits of clawed up string off the carpet. There is a switch on top of the suction head that touches the carpet that makes a squeegee type of thing pop out at the bottom and that was amazing on my ceramic tiled floor in the downstairs bathroom. I also unintentionally managed to knock over a container of water on the tiles and the carpet at the doorway of the downstairs bathroom and I shocked at how easily and quickly it sucked up that water; I’ve never used a wet vac before and didn’t realise that they would be so good.
This is a workhorse of a vac, so a bit over-kill for average home use, but if you have room for such a large vac in your home, it is an excellent choice as it is really effective for home use and you can also use it if you’ve been doing any work around the house. It would also be good if you have a shop.
I am really impressed with the efficiency of this vacuum cleaner, the only thing I would change would be to give it a longer power cord.
