Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe bought this for our 4 year old grandson last year and it truly has been amazing. Within a few months he could located quite a few countries including ones which I wasn’t sure about and came up with amazing pieces of information about them e.g. “did you know they speak 11 different languages in South Africa?”
    What a learning tool!

Wasn’t going to get one but such a great deal on Prime day we got it for my daughters 7th birthday. She loves finding out new things. I also like to sound of being able to add adventures to it by connecting to a PC. She’s used it every day since we bought it xx

We bought this for our son’s 6th birthday because he loves factual information. This has been a great toy for him to come back to again and again. We’ve downloaded the dinosaurs pack too and enjoy playing the quiz games together. The only negative is that it is a bit expensive but we’re hoping it’ll last a while.

Our five year old loves this so much. He has been going back to his globe daily to learn something new. We had trouble getting the video to play once but with a bit of troubleshooting online, it went back to normal. Very satisfied with it.

Sturdy globe for young kids and clear speech. Only slight annoyance is that the pen has to be directly placed on the globe rather than at an angle (as you would hold a normal pen). Other than that great interactive globe for children with games and learning topics.

One child used it to help with his homework.

My only real complaint of this otherwise great product is that they have a button which is an advert for buying extra add on packages. I have a 4 and a 6 year old and they keep pressing that button and then telling me they want the add on packages. Really I think the globe is expensive enough that these two 5 add on packages should have just been included. If you buy it you have to register with your email address, so I think part of it is data collection to do targeted marketing.

  14. DanialBrobst says:

The device works fine on its own, but when trying to install a new “app” it took hours (including having to “repair” with firmware update). I’d probably avoid purchasing and installing any new “app” for it.

Seen a few reviews about the packaging of this globe seems strange people think you can’t gift a kid something in a box?! The packaging in my view is great, mine came in a cardboard box with no plastic ties, wires or anything else. I opened it up to test before gifting, the globe is easy for little ones to grab straight out without having to pry or cut it free. The batteries required (4 AAs) come installed so the globe is ready to go.
There are lots of features, as well as facts about countries, there’s a quiz (for 1 or 2 players), flags, currency, languages and animals. Plus more I’ve not discovered yet! There’s additional downloadable content too, and if you don’t want to go through a tonne of batteries you can use the micro-usb supplied instead. So far, so good. I can see my 6 and 3 year old getting lots of use out of this (I’ve learned some new facts too!). There are a few very minor inaccuracies that I can cover with my kids when they can understand but as a KIDS globe this will provide loads of fun. I would like the wire for the pen to be longer and the globe to illuminate but that doesn’t takeaway from the toy too much. Overall would recommend: I would say best for 4+ but any kid/adult will learn something from this so there’s something for the older ones too.

I brought this for my kids ages 10 and 5 and they fell in love with it , amazon are selling this product much cheaper than elsewhere which is awesome. It is very educational with engaging videos and activities plus quizzes and challenges for older kids, it’s also very durable and good quality we will cherish this for years to come. You can also purchase additional games online which is an added bonus but the globe has so many already installed features it’s not a necessary component.

Amazing and fun well worth the money

Bought for my grandson’s 6th Birthday. Although he needs help with the quiz, he really loves it. It’s very interactive and he’s learned a lot about the world. His daddy loves it too so they play/cha together. It looks good as a feature in his bedroom too. It is rather pricy but I think worth it for the educational aspect and play value.

Easy to use. Bought for my 5 year old Grandson for Christmas but i tried it out to make sure it worked properly. Very informative and has a random quiz you can play on your own or against 2 people, it was really good fun. There is a small screen which shows video’s of the Country/animals you are searching information on. I think it could be improved with an internal light to make it a bit easier to use.
My Grandson can also add different packs to the globe i.e Dinosaurs for the small amount of 5.
I am sure he will get lots of pleasure from using the Globe for many years to come.

Firstly the globe comes in a leapfrog globe brown box, not the shiny coloured cardboard sleeve with Images on like you find in stores, just incase you want to gift it that way. I knew when ordering the globe it comes like this in frustration free packaging which means on Christmas day we can just unbox it and go, not lots of excess packaging. The globe itself is lovely, we’ve had a try before we gift it and to be honest I’m looking forward to using it too. Our 5yr old granddaughter has made a beline for this in our local toy shop the last couple of visits and has been fascinated by it, especially the videos, I think she’ll get many years of use from it, so I see it as a good investment.

I bought this for my 7 year old and a 2year old as she is quite advanced. It is a good quality item that works well. The screen is clear and it is full of facts and information. Other reviews said about having to buy add on info packs but there is already a ton of info so I won’t be buying. The noise level is pretty loud at normal volume and the monuments function is a bit fiddly as the icon is quite small in some countries. The wand could have done with being a little bit longer as well but these are small points. The info is in English and from the BBC archives so is accurate. I don’t feel it is worth 80 but compared to the reviews of other globes I am glad I did not feel ripped off either. It looks like this will be very useful for education and fun for many years. I bought this 4/5/21. Arrived clean and works well.

My 6 year old has played twoth this alot. He loves learning. He loves the little videos which come up on the screen. He can play at his leisure and work it out himself with out much involvement from me. He discovered the quiz section which is a bit hard for him at the moment but the more he learns over time he will get there. The videos about animals and landmarks are his favourite. There still lots of features he hasn’t discovered. You can can also buy upgrades for it. He would like the dinosaur one. For the price if expect you to get these for free from leap frog or it to already be included. Not sure I’d say its worth 80 I guess it depends how much it will be used but to defiantly better than the just touch ones. We had one of those previously but this kept him occupied alot more having stuff to visualise rather than it just talking to you. I’d say it’s sutible for for him aged 6 and I definatly think it will last him a good few years.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMy 4 year old was given this as a 4th birthday present. I have to say I am impressed and has gone down a treat even with the older kids and adults too!
I love the interactive face although for ease of use in todays world I wish the front display was buttons/touch screen. Everyone seems to forget to use the stylus.
Its a shame that landmarks are limited to purple icons on the globe and missing some big icons from around the globe. Its also hard for little ones to press the “correct” zones.
Saying that with help and guidance he is thoroughly enjoying it.
We have done a quiz together which was really enjoyable and fun for me to test my knowledge and have pointers of where and what I can teach him.
I wasn’t aware when we planned on this being a gift that you can currently download 2 extra interactive packs. One being “ancient beasts and dinosaurs” and the other being “inventions”. I believe in years to come inventions will be a great addition but we purchased dinosaurs which so far seems OK. Its a little less specific to areas but no less entertaining and haven’t fully explored it.

It was easy to connect to the computer as the screen on the globe gave instructions when it was ready for us to do something! Once downloaded software and purchased dinos it was easy to download to the globe.

I think this will be a gift that will be used and looked at thoroughly for years to come. It has so many options.
    Countries
    Capital’s
    Currency
    Animals
    Geology
    Flags
    Population
    It can never be boring.
Let’s not forget its bright and beautiful to look at. Really nicely made. As a girl I spent hours looking at a globe and have always been fascinated by counties and atlas’. I hope this fuels my children to enjoy different cultures and travel to many places.

Great purchase and product by leapfrog

An educational toy that will always be fun!

We bought this for our son who had an interactive ‘flat’ map that had only a handful of countries on, we thought this would be a good ‘step up’ when he turned 5.
Overall it’s a decent enough toy, it has lots of info and seems robust. It’s attractive to look at and my son really enjoys playing with it.
Downside is I assumed the globe would light up like one I had as a child but it doesn’t and some of the countries are very hard to see because of this. The pen wire length is somewhat restrictive and would be better if it was like the leap start go pen (wireless). It’s also quite slow, for kids who have short attention span, the loading time between things can be annoying, as they get older it shouldn’t matter as much.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersRead some reviews about this globe saying it uses lots of batteries. There is a USB cable provided to download further games onto it through your computer, so this can be used with a plug to use instead of batteries. Have only just bought it but it seems a very good fun educational present for my grandsons. Haven’t downloaded any games yet, but there seems to be quite a good varied amount of games to add to it as the children get older.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst things first: it comes with a usb connection to run without batteries. You can also use 4 AA batteries which are supplied.
Bought for my 4 yr old, she doesn’t seem too keen. Probably will store it away for a couple of years.
Got it off Argos for 60 on their sale.
Wife thinks probably not worth that, e have travelled the world a bit and 600 videos doesn’t seem enough! Coming from a different country with a different educational system and both of us are doctors, we probably know a lot more of the geography of the world than this supplies.
The background music whilst the voices are talking is a bit off putting after a while.
It would be perfect, if it cold be updated using the usb with a computer connection.
    Imagine that.
5 stars as best of what is available for the age group, but not yet what we’d like for older children.

Excellent product completely up to date with South Sudan and North Macedonia but as manufactured in China has to toe the party line and blank out Taiwan and include the 9 dash line including the South China Sea as part of China regardless of international law and ICJ ruling. Also Indians will be offended with it showing Arunachal Pradesh as part of the PRC!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersProving so useful with having to home school 7 and 8 year old kids. Making things so much easier to explain with the globe rather than from an atlas. Kids are able to do their own research on it as well as being able to explain N&S poles, continents, trade routers, equator, meridians and parallels, longitude/latitude, time zones, seasons, night and day, summer solstice, and you name it. Quite pricey but proving well worth it and robust enough for kids to ‘play/ entertain’ themselves with as well as being a great teaching tool.
