Been after one of these for a while and finally got round to buying one. Well built ,easy instructions and looks good on my shelf next to The razor crest and Millennium falcon.
I may have paid a little bit more than what i should have but apart from that it’s an amazing set.
A little dearer than it was however due to eing a retired product I understand.
Bought this Lego set to distract my Lockdown boredom! Was very enjoyable to build from start to finish and to go with my Mandolorian Lego set. Recommend to any Star Wars fans out there! Pricing wasnt exactly cheap but obviously understand its 20th anniversary edition set….. Only cristism I found was the box the lego set came was damaged on the back. But overall no other complaints.
Great model, fun to build and no frustrating or fiddly elements. Great selection of mini figures that add to the design, Boba Fett looks great and the Carboniferous Han Solo round things off. Took a good day to complete on and off so really good value. If I have a frustration it’s that I bought this for around 60 and it’s now closer to 200, this makes it unobtainable by all but the most avid collector and it would be great if more children could enjoy this set. In terms of completeness from a Star Wars perspective this goes over and above with not only movie characters but others from the wider SW canon.
Husband was very pleased with it! Only took him a couple of hours to build so might not be great if you’re looking for value for money in terms of build time, but he was delighted with it anyway.
I bought the star wars for my Grandson for his birthday which isn’t until 30th October , I’m sure he will be delighted with it, he’s Star Wars crazy
Bought this during Black Friday Sale so the price was amazing! My boyfriend absolutely loves Star Wars and Lego so it was a must buy. He loved building it and we are in the middle of getting a display case.
As advertised, quick and efficient, you can not expect anything more.
Absolute top drawer.
Bought this as the final piece to my 20th anniversary collection intended to be centrepiece however there was a big dent right over the star wars logo on the front so I asked amazon if they could replace it for me explaining my reasons for displaying it and how the damage affected future value they happily sent me a replacement very happy thank you amazo
Arrived in time for my son’s birthday. He was very pleased. Expensive as all Lego is but definitely comparable to other sites.
A fantastic ship. It’s not a UCS but still has some lovely details like the swivelling pilots seat, wings and rear door. Pretty robust and the handle at the back makes it very playable. Brilliant set.
A bit pricey but a great set which my son loves.
This was on a half price offer then there was an Amazon warehouse one, even cheaper. Absolute bargain. I do have the original, from 20 years ago (still in the box), and this is so much more technical and realistic. Absolutely love the Star Wars Lego. But forget how basic the first sets and figures were compared to the newer ones.
Lego bits and shapes came in a box to make the picture.
My son and I enjoyed constructuring this over Christmas but it is requiring constant rebuilding as kids want to play with them but they are quite delicate
Bought in sale so cost was only iro 60. This is not the UCS set but still very good. I have the whole 20th Anniversary set and this is by far the biggest and best.
It looks like in the picture. It was a present and it was very much appreciated.
In my opinion the best Slave 1 lego have produced. Han in carbonite fits in the cargo hold. The wings tilt so they are always level as you swoosh the model around.
Good minifigures, bit of an awkward build at points but all in all I enjoyed i
This Slave 1 Lego set is amazing for Bobba Fett fans and for people who love star wars and want a classic in their LEGO collection. The build is nicely done and not to hard, and the model itself is incredibly accurate to the original Slave 1. The build was fun and took me about 5 hours, with breaks. The mechanics are great (shooting lasers, storage compartment for han) and the mini-figures are great introducing 2 new mini-figs plus a nice Leia bonus. The build is nicely held and is not to heavy. It is worth the price for sure and will satisfy you.
Really fun to build and worth every hour spent building it.vthr only downside it that it’s awkward to stand up when buil
Its Lego “does what it says on the box”.excellent purchase
I was unsure about adding this to my collection but I decided to get it as it was on offer. After getting it I’ve decided it was worth buying and that is a very good piece to add to any collectio
Great item got this for 62 on black friday my son loved it for xmas
It’s Lego, it’s star wars, it’s great. Bought this in a flash sale so for lego it was a bargain, would possibly have had to think twice at full price.
I brought this to complete the set, and as of yet deciding if I want to keep for an investment or build later, looks an impressive kit, and got it in black Friday sale.
One of the most iconic Star Wars ships . A good star to any collection.
Great new edition of the slave 1. Got it in the black Friday sales for my son’s bday and very jealous. The book shows the first edition slave 1 and they have come a long ways. The build was good fun and ingenious in places. Blows me away what Lego manage to desig
Was a christmas gift. Well recieved and liked by a lego star wars fan. Good design and appearance. Assembly difficulty is age appropriate. Value for money…..look lego ain’t cheap and star wars want there cut too. All legos a third overpriced imo.
If your a lego star wars fan it’s a must have ship slave 1.
Xmas present for my husband, he’s a star wars and Lego fanatic and loved it.
Fantastic model, highly recommended. First time Zuckuss available as a minifigure
One very happy son ! I bought this on Black Friday and was very happy at the price I got it fo
The recipient enjoyed the product. Personally I thought it a bit dear, but Christmas is Christmas.
Really enjoyable build and a great looking finished product. Let down by the seat assembly and lack of space for the minifigure
Awesome set. I bought it on black friday for 62, so totally worth the value.
Now I have all the bounty hunters which appeared on the super star destroyer in ESB.
Great product to finish /20th anniversary collection, great price paid as it was on offer, a must buy for any Star Wars Lego fa
Wicked build. With the number of pieces and complexity I wouldn’t recommend for younger builders, but its a nicely designed model with the usual brilliant diagrams and instructions. Features like the rotating cockpit, opening loading bay to store Han in his carbonite, and the handle mechanism on the back are really well implemented, and the visual design as well, particularly the rear engine modules, looks authentic and detailed. Fantastic model that will look great on a shelf or in a display case if that’s your thing, or stand up to hours of playing by younger owners.
We use the black Friday deal. As usual Lego has created a perfect star wars model. My son loved it.
Nice set, took just over 90 mins to build at a leisurely pace, only downside as I would have liked some sort of stand included so it would stand upright for display
Great set, arrived in good timing and great condition… a great deal on Black Friday!
It’s a great lego piece to build. It took about 3hrs but great to play with when completed.
Brilliant slave 1, looks great in my collection .. a must have ..
A simply remarkable set. More fun to build than the UCS version. First set to give us a Zuckuss too.
Genuinely love this set. I bought 2. Well designed for collectors and for kids.
As a 1007 piece set it comes with an exclusive Leia commemorative figure, Boba and two of our favoured bounty hunters (4-LOM & Zuckuss). And of course there is a carbonized version of Han (and a Han figure) that can be stowed away under the rear hatch. The instruction booklet includes a few pages on the history of Lego Star Wars and the former Slave I sets.
Of course there is a bigger, more impressive UCS Slave I from a few years earlier, that I don’t own, and that comes with a much heftier price tag (and double the piece count). However this version is actually quite a good, cost effective alternative in particular as it includes a number of interesting play features for children like a flight mode and solid handle. While in flight mode there are also spring-loaded shooters, triggered from the base.
The built is quite exciting, not particularly complex with the instruction booklet easy to understand. Though I must admit that we put it together in a joint effort. And this eventually gets you an very impressive finished model that looks quite movie-accurate and that is visually pleasing.
I was relieved not to find too many stickers in the set, that my son is always tempting to put in place but seldom with a satisfying result.
All in all; a great set & highly recommended
Excellent set, expensive but worth it, as with all lego, love it.
Excellent set. I own all of the different versions of Slave 1, including the UCS, and this is perfectly formed and such a clever build. Highly recommended.
Everything you could want from a UCS model (fun build, great as a display model and a good amount of excellent minifigures etc) all in a tight affordable package.
Good challenge and enjoyable set.
At the discounted price all the better.
A good model of Slave one, obviously not as big as the ultimate collectors edition but still a good build, i got this on offer which i try to do with most of the kits i get of Amazo
As with all Lego sets the quality is excellent, currently at a decent price so well worth picking up.
The 20th anniversary line of lego star wars sets are perfect for collectors and kids alike.. both for play and display value.
The slave 1 itself is a brilliant alternative for people who don’t want to/cant invest in the ultimate collectors edition kit. The build is engaging and there’s lots of interesting techniques used when putting this together, the instructions are really easy to follow and the end result makes a really nice model to stick on the shelf! My only gripe with this kit is the lack of display stand so if you’re wanting to have it displayed in its “flight” mode you would have to prop it up against something fairly stable.
The minifigure selection is nice, the new boba fett looks really good with high quality printing on the legs and torso.
And the bonus princess Leia figure is a must have for older fans of the franchise, although be aware they do have the 20th anniversary logo printed on the back so you can tell it apart from the original figures released in the early 2000’s.
Overall I’m happy with the set and I think it’s a must have for any Lego fan!
This is an expensive LEGO set, but hey. it’s Star Wars! It’s actually a lot more than an anniversary LEGO/Star Wars product cash-in – although this could definitely bring in a whole new set of fans for both camps – this is a really good kit that will delight any fans of Star Wars, particularly the younger ones who also like LEGO. There’s double the fun to be had seeing how it all fits together to work and in just playing with the starship and the figures that come with it.
The pictures don’t really do this justice. There’s over a thousand pieces here and it takes quite a bit of work to build this LEGO version of Boba Fett’s Slave I from The Empire Strikes Back, but nothing too complicated when you follow the instructions in the guide. The detail is brilliant, the construction allowing for rotating side wings, a detachable cockpit and spring-loaded weapons with trigger-firing. There are five figurines Boba Fett, Han Solo (and a block of carbonite to fit him into the rear hold), Zuckuss, 4-LOM and a special edition Princess Leia each with blasters.
This may be expensive, but needless to say it will be a collector’s item and likely to be even more expensive then. Get it if you can.
Easy to build only takes a few hours and the end result is amazing, as always lego finishes are a high quality, I bought it due to prime day sale but is worth the full price
I’m a big fan of lego and as always this comes up to par.
Good display set, but with no stand included, it makes it hard to display properly.
Sometimes anniversary editions can be a little disappointing, merely a way to repackage the same old products. This was definitely not the case for this lego Star Wars Slave 1 set! I really liked how it was a re-invention of an older kit and it’s clear just how far things have come with Lego in 20 Years!! The kit was suitably challenging to hold the interest of my 9 year old and this time we followed the instructions and opened the numbered bags in order as we built the kit – much easier! As usual Lego instructions are easy to follow although I did miss the scale pictures of some of the key pieces (only a minor issue).
The kit was particularly interesting as it included moving and shooting parts making play more interesting and the collectible mini figure was a nice touch although it won’t spend much time on its display stand!!
A minor quibble for Lego in general is the move to more and more unique parts – a quick look at the original Slave 1 and it’s more generic bricks shows while it loses some realism the ability to include into larger collections and modify more freely was much easier 20 years ago! All in all a great kit fun to build and play with!!
Lego has come along way since I was a child. The things you can build are a lot more advanced and complicated to put together. This Lego kit for Baba Fett’s starship Slave 1 from The Empire Strikes Back is no exception. It took me quite along time to put together and required a lot of patience. Once it was finally assembled it did look fantastic. This is a nice item and fans of Star Wars will no doubt go for it as will Lego enthusiasts.
A team of five adults met up for a few beers and to build this Lego set. It took us a solid four hours. The set contains 8 bags of lego. I would have prefered it if each bag had it’s own booklet.
We all really enjoyed ourselves. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The end product was a lot better than we were expecting, with lots of moving parts and shooting plastic lasers.
This is a brilliant example of a quality Lego set – one of the most iconic sci-fi space-ships of all time, by one of the most iconic toy makers of all time.
As always, the set is beautiful and comes well packaged with everything well organised in the box, ready to get going. The instructions are clear – and while of course Lego building experience will help, everyone should be able to put this together given time and patience. Once completed the set can of course be taken apart and either rebuilt again, or if you want, the parts can be scavenged for other projects – but as there are a large number of bespoke pieces here, and considering the cost of the set, I doubt you would want to do that.
As well as the main ship, this set comes with several Star Wars mini-figures, which will probably become collectable themselves given time.
All in all a brilliant edition of Star Wars Lego – one for the collectors and the new starter alike.
My son and I have collected a number of the Lego Star Wars edition models over the years, and this is a superb addition to our collection. It is being issued to commemorate the company’s 20th anniversary producing Star Wars products, and is by far the best incarnation of Slave 1 yet.
It is quite challenging to build, but the instructions are good, and it was great fun – it took us several hours with coffee breaks. The finished built product looks absolutely amazing, and although it isn’t cheap, we think it is well worth the money.
The model is just under 6 inches high and approximately 12 inches long x 12 inches wide. The set features 5 figures, and Han Solo frozen in Carbonite. The model has a neat opening rear hatch to store Han. The clear canopy detaches at the front and one of the figures will fit inside. There are also twin working “blasters”.
Sure to become a sought after collectors item in years to come we can highly recommend this Anniversary Edition. If you can afford it, buy one for yourself, and one to store away as an investment. A real must for Star Wars and Lego collectors.
A review for LEGO 75243 Star Wars Slave I – 20th Anniversary Edition, Boba Fett’s Starship, Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back, Colourful.
Well what can I say a marriage of two of the biggest franchises in the world. I never get tired of the Star Wars universe, one of the best things Lego did was to expand its franchising to include many popular film tie ins, this one being my favourite. Some Lego purists will argue that this is not really Lego in its purest form or indeed Lego at all, but have brick will build it is lego just not as we knew it. Lego has done well to adapt and keep up with the times whilst still retaining that sense of build and create when it was first incepted all those years ago. I played with Lego when I was young, all you had were basic building blocks unlike now which for me is progress in the right direction. This set has everything you need to build the bounty hunter Boba Fett’s starship from the Star Wars films, plus the following beautifully Lego interpreted mini figures: Boba Fett, Han solo, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Princess Leia. Overall well made if slightly expensive Star Wars / Lego alliance, these are the lego toys you’re looking for, may the force be with you.
Oh my, this is a fantastic Lego set, with over a thousand pieces! This will keep the recipient away from screens for many hours and I’m sure they will have enormous fun constructing such a great toy.
This is Boba Fett’s Slave 1 starship, from “The Empire Strikes Back”, but a special 20th Anniversary Edition, so quite a collector’s item. The constructed ship measures 11″x5″x12″ and like all Lego, is colourful and unbreakable. The instructions are clear and simple but due to the size of this set, it is recommended for 10 year olds and over.
The cockpit takes a mini-figure and the seat for the pilot is self-levelling in case of meteor storms. There is an opening/closing rear hatch which can be used for transporting poor old Han Solo while he is encased in a block of Carbonite. The wings rotate and each wing has a shooter which is spring loaded to fire missiles (provided).
There are 5 mini-figures: Boba Fett, Princess Leia, (special edition) four-LOM, Zuckuss and Han Solo and each has a blaster pistol.
There is a carry handle attached to the underside which makes transporting easier.
Building Lego helps encourage dexterity, patience, creativity, spatial awareness and the ability to follow instructions, and the parts are durable and mostly unbreakable.
This is probably the best Lego set I have seen, and any fan will be over the moon with it.
From the excitement of the noise of the Lego sliding when you shake the box, through the 8 packs of pieces, to trying out the shooting function this was a very satisfying four and a half hours, (for an experienced Lego constructor).
It is a complex set, requiring focus and concentration. A few of the stages required a bit of jiggling about to fit together. It feels secure to handle now it is complete.
It uses a lot of special bricks for the shaping and structure.
As always the instructions are clear and methodical.
All in all it is fabulous!
This is a lovely set. I did talk about value for money but the men in my family explained in words of one syllable that this was “A collectors item”. It comes with an extensive glossy manual with clear pictorial instructions. the parts are separated into bundles, packed in cellophane and clearly numbered. Although it is for a 10 +year old it is supposedly for my 6year old great grandson. Joey loves Star WarsI doubt if he will get near it. It seems to be a big boys toy. A lot of time has been spent looking at the manual. I feel it will be a long project. The parts are brightly coloured and well made.
I was delighted when it was announced a more affordable version was coming to celebrate the 20th anniversary and I’ve not been disappointed.
This set is a fun build and the finished model looks great. It also comes with 5 mini figures including a throwback special of Princess Leia. There’s also Han frozen in Carbonite to go in the storage compartment of the ship.
Easy to recommend this for fans, great set, classic ship.
