If you like the Life is Strange Franchise, this is a nice and different take on a young woman’s journey. Lots of twists, knowledge and character back story. Game is paced enough to get the full story as well as build relationships with the characters. No game play is ever the same.

    10/10

Honestly this is probably the best game I’ve ever played. Both dramatic and emotional at the same time. It really knows how to play with your emotions. No other way to put it than go get this now. You will not regret i

Think it could have had one or two more chapters. Other wise, it’s a great game.

This was bought as a gift for Christmas as I was intrigued by the series. I went straight to the third one of the series but will prob go back and get the others for completion. At time of review it costs 29.99, the game is rather short but it makes up for it in graphics and the narrative storyline. What makes the game stand out for me is the outstanding selection of music within the game.
You play as Alex Chen, a young woman with a troubled childhood who comes to the fictional mining town of Haven Springs, Colorado to live with her brother Gabe. After a mysterious accident, Alex uses her supernatural empathic abilities to bring the town’s secrets to the surface. This is done by her reading their auras which are coloured differently for each emotion.
During play it’s obvious the residents genuinely care about each other and you can’t help but feel a part of the town.
Some information is gleaned from Alex’s phone, which shares details of her relationships with her friends, some text messages, you can also check out MyBlock, where the town share local updates.
You get really invested in the townsfolk you meet and become genuinely concerned for their well being. However, it does feel a little strange invading their privacy to garner information that can help you.
The narrative aspect to the game is a step away from the usual fighting and action gameplay I’m used to but I did enjoy it. The story flows well and the actions you take and the decisions you make can alter the game play.
I found it very enjoyable, think of it as a mystery game where you have to look for clues. If this doesn’t sound like your type of game give it a miss, if you like exploring and interacting more than fighting then this game is definitely for you.

I love narrative-driven, decision-based games (if you haven’t played Detroit: Become Human it’s an absolute must). So the Life is Strange series are must-plays for me.

The first was awesome; a great story, loads of important and very difficult decisions and likeable characters. I didn’t like a single character in 2, the story bored me and I didn’t finish it.

This one sits comfortably between the two. I liked most of the characters, the story was compelling and there were some very fun parts (the LARP was great). But there didn’t seem to be too many important decisions to make, I gathered almost all of the secrets in my first play through and it felt very short.

Decent, but I’m glad it was a gift and I didn’t pay full price for it.

This entire series of games are all supper fun and interesting. I especially like how they overlap the stories from each game and you get to make choices that ultimately affect the outcome. Then you can compare those choices to friends who have played to see how your choices differ from others and compare your choices to the world to see how their choices differ from yours and the overall outcome in reference of those choices. The graphics are also great and the game in general is just superior in quality and I look foreword to more games coming out. You don’t have to play them in order but it helps to start with the original because you will see glimpses of characters from previous stories in subsequent games. Overall this game gets a 10/10 and 5 stars from me.

I really enjoyed this story. I’m completely in love with the Life Is Strange series, so I knew that I was in for a treat. I don’t want to say anything about the story, because spoilersbut I will say it was 10/10, but my issue was how short the game is for the price I paid. I had it done in 8 hours, and then went back to trophy hunt which only added another hour to the experience. Far too short for the original price.

The 2nd LiS was absolute poor garbage. True colours has restored my faith in the lis games. Alex is a very likable character and her Empathy power is interesting.
I just wish the game was longer.

Loved the characters, interactions and settings of this installment. You get to feel a real connection which may be due to the characters being slightly older this time. Probably my favourite game in the series so far. However, the overall storyline didn’t quite have the same momentum and intrigue as the original and felt a little short.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI absolutely loved this game. It’s beautiful to look at and the facial animations are extremely impressive. I enjoyed the story, although I felt the ending was a little rushed and somewhat unbelievable. It’s not perfect: the game itself is rather short compared to its predecessors and I felt the developers could have fleshed out the storyline a bit more, as I finished the game within a couple of days. There are also considerably less locations you can interact with than I have come to expect from these games and the movement was a little clunky in places. That said, the positives far outweigh the negatives. The characters are charming and the narrative is extremely well-written and engaging. Alex herself is very likeable. The thing that let down the first game for me was that I found Chloe to be rather irritating and I just couldn’t see her as a ‘love interest’ for Max. You have a couple of dating options in this game and both of these characters are very appealing. The voice acting is excellent, the soundtrack is good and the little scenarios you can meddle in on the side are often rather sweet and poignant. I was totally immersed in this from start to finish and was sad when it ended! A more mature addition to the series which I thoroughly enjoyed and I very much look forward to the next one.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWhat an amazing game, absolutely worth the wait between this and Life is Strange 2. The journey you spend with Alex and everyone in Haven Springs is such an emotional one, maybe even more hard hitting than previous Life is Strange titles.

The gameplay is more refined, Haven Springs is a smaller town compared to Arcadia Bay but so much more detailed and the soundtrack is second to none. Alex is such a great protagonist as well and I actually cared about this person so much.

It feels shorter compared to other LiS games but maybe it’s because it’s all one game and not episodic which is so much better as you don’t have to wait a few months between episodes being available to play.

It alters the gameplay in various chapters to keep everything fresh and the hardhitting story matter is balanced with fun and lighthearted segments and the occasional turned based RPG thrown in for good measure.

I cannot reccomend this game enough, you don’t need to play any of the previous titles so jump right in and fall in love with Alex Chen.

    P.S Team Steph for life
