Arrived quickly. Well packaged. Took one person around 2hrs tops to assemble. Pretty straight forward. Son loves this car. Only issue had is if wheels are turned inwards as child pulls on car to stand/get in they can tip it up. Need supervision getting in/out to be safe.

Golden Review Award: 81 From Our UsersGreat car but agree with a lot of reviews regarding the building. My personal top tips for building are below but take your time with it. Once built feels strong and something that could last a while.

1 Make sure you stick the dashboard stickers on before putting the wheel on.
2 Red caps (the ones you hammer on) go on the outside above the two front wheels. (not that clear in instructions)
3 Test that the white caps on the two front wheels faces outwards when pushing forward before fixing in place with the red caps.
4 When screwing the holes to lock the roof in place make a small hole with a smaller screw or a punch tool first. (I didn’t need use a drill)
5 The silver and red caps once knocked in place don’t come off.

Timeless mode of transport for all little ones!

Everyone has memories of cruising around in one of these from Nursery or playgroup, so for a very reasonable price its great to give your son/daughter the chance to cruise around at home in the same amount of style!

Wouldve like a built in sound system to pump out nursery rhymes but great fun all the same.

Easy to construct and then hours of fun!

Why oh why don’t they sell these constructed….this near killed me putting it together.
If you think ikea stuff is bad, then don’t try this!!!
Construction aside, its a brilliant toy that my little girl loves, but gosh am I still recovering from putting it together!
Crazy instructions, crazy bits to put together……craziness, let me pay more to have it delivered built anytime!!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is a great item and my 18 month old loves it, HOWEVER!!! It is an absolute nightmare to put together and my daughter and I are excellent at putting things together. Sadly this was our own fault as we didn’t have a drill to hand to pierce through the very strong plastic. Follow the instructions in full and you’ll be ok.

My little boys face says it all 😍❤️

Just the job for a Christmas gift for a Grandson – Assembly was reasonably easy on Christmas Day – then the problem was that the Grandson did not want to come out of the Buggy….. In fact it became another seat for him to watch the TV from … Really good sturdy product – only slight comment would be the door was very stiff/sticky – hopefully that will free up a bit.

Oh, and a personalised number plate made the Buggy unique for the Grandson (ordered from elsewhere)…..

These have been going on for years and they’re still great! Our little 18 month old boy is enjoying his new one he got for Christmas.

Only negative I would say is it’s a bit of a nightmare to build, otherwise it would have scored 5. We tried to build this quietly one evening but ended up having to build it in the garage ….. following the use of hammers, screwdrivers and much swearing it was done.

So in summary, the item is awesome, but if someone offers to build it for you then take them up on the offer!!

My 14 month loves his cosy coupe! It is a tad smaller than the one I had as a child. However, that being said, it is the perfect size for toddlers. I can see my son enjoying this for years to come. It is definetly one of the best buys this Christmas. It’s sturdy and well made and I like the fact that it has the undertray in the bottom for the younger ones whose feet don’t yet touch the floor.

The instructions for this product are not very easy to follow, first time d.i.yers be warned. For the main body of the Coupe you can work out what to do but the wheel assembly is very tricky. We (this is a 2 person job) laid out all the parts shown on the instruction booklet, put them onto the back axle to check then put them onto the Coupe and knocked the red end stops into place. We repeated this for the front wheels but it appeared we didn’t have enough of the little plastic spacers. Unfortunately they do not go onto the wheels before the red end stops and once you’ve hammered the stops into place (as instructed) you CANNOT remove them. The picture shows 2 small parts -the red end stop and another which we thought was the plastic spacer but it’s the end stop and a red cover (that goes over the end stop). We’ve had to buy another Coupe for our granddaughter’s birthday, very disappointed as we have lots of successful self assembly experience.

My son has loved this since his first birthday and still does at 2.5 years old. His older friends (upto 5 years old) also love so would highly recommend.

However the reason for a 4 star is that you have to assemble yourself & it’s a little trickier than other self assembly toys.

Very pleased with quality. Strong, durable product with great design to please the little ones. It has storage at the back so you can put child’s drink in case he/she will be thirsty. Child can open the door and turn the start key. Not hard to assemble just takes a bit of your time. Was definitely worth the money.

A winner all round with children and adults ! I believe this is the little tykes coupe’s 25th anniversary and you can see why. It’s well made and solid and lets children’s imaginations run wild . A little smaller than I remember but that’s not a bad thing storage wise. It was bought for a birthday present for a 2 year old and was the hit of the party with a mix of children up to about 8. You can by name stickers to personalize it and then it’s even more special

Easy to put together. I see many of them broken in various play centre, I think if it use be age appropriate kids will last otherwise I can see how can be easily be damaged. My 20 months son love it.. My 8 years old play most on the roof of it. So far hasn’t broke… I really hope will hold on together.

Got this for my daughter for her first birthday. She loved it from the get go. We kept the full floor in it until about 15 months. Her favourite thing to do was get in and out of it but also wheeled her about the place in it!
From about 16 months she was able to make it go Backwards and just recently (18 months) coordinated driving it forward and all about.

She enjoys it loads and it’s a great item to play with outdoors and indoors too!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersClassic toy i remember from my own childhood! With a few modern tweaks (love the eyes!) it still has the soft lines of the original cozy coupe, said to be a cross between a VW Beetle and Fred Flintstone’s car! As a childcare provider, always my first choice of toy car especially as a first car. You can push them & they can push themselves, long before they can pedal. Says 18 months plus though i would say perfectly safe for any 12 month old who is reasonably mobile and has been sitting unaided for a while (obviously not unsupervised) as no small parts. Almost impossible to tip, sturdy, hard-wearing (stands up to rougher older kids play too!) Lasts for years-even longer if not left outdoors. Upper age range is 3 though i have know children to play with it way beyond that age! They do a range of colours including a pink or a police car design though i prefer the classic red and yellow. well worth the money, in my opinion. They also make accesories such as a fuel pump and trailer.

The little one has always loved these (they have been around for years and are perfect for little ones) and so had to get one for his birthday which he loves completely. Once put together this really is made to last and can take a lot of child punishment (hope my home can withstand it). It is a little bit of a pain to put together but than what isn’t these days ! Great value for money and no doubt will be driven around the house and garden for a long time and no doubt passed along to other family members in time.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis really should have had 5 stars, but for two things. First, the images in the instructions, were just black blobs of ink. Secondly, the moulding location holes for the roof support struts were rough and ragged, which made it difficult to clean fit the roof to the car body. I spent two hours with a file to get a good fit. I think the maker should upgrade quality control to eliminated less that excellent reviews. The toy itself is well designed and should not have to generate negative feedback. It is a great buy. My grandson is going to love it.

There was slighly more put it together for this than i had expected and it took a lot longer than i thought to do. i assumed it would all just slot in but not the case. however once fully made it has been well loved and great indoors and out. the footplatform is nice so little one can sit in and be pushed without their feet getting squashed. A firm favourite in this house.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAs a parent and toddler group leader, I know how popular these cars are, both with kids and adults, so when one of ours got damaged I had no problems ordering a replacement. This arrived promptly and I set about its assembly with my husband. Firstly I had not realised you need almost a toolkit to put it together. Hammer, screwdriver, drill and pliers were all needed at some point. The instructions are good and easy to follow but the design of the car makes things difficult. All went well until screwing in the back two yellow supports into the main body. The screws need to go in at a certain certain angle to catch the supports but there isn’t room to get a drill in or a large screwdriver. The first screw bent and had to be removed with pliers. My husband had spares and the next went in easily. My advice is have someone handy at diy and give yourself some time!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA modern version of the famous Cozy Coupe car. We had one many years ago, our youngest is almost thirty. My wife also had one in her toy collection as a registered child-minder. This one was purchased as a first birthday present for our grand-son. It’s still as sturdy as the first one that we bought. Only drawback we encountered was that it now requires a lot more home assembly than was required in the now distant past but the finished product is well worth the effort.

Other sellers sell personalised number plates. You might wish to consider this if the Cozy Coupe is for one particular child or is to celebrate a special occasion.

I bought this for my grandson, suggested by my son. I wish I had read the customer reviews first. There is no indication in the sales information that it needs assembly, let alone that it takes three hours, a screwdriver, drill, and a visit to the DIY shop for replacement screws! But my grandson loves it, hence the four star rating.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy one year old loves this car. Can be used with floor plate to push little one around in with appropriate supervision. My boy also uses this like a walker. It is very well made. I am a competent handyman and found this relatively straightforward to put together. However, it did need a bit of force around the wheel axles. There are no pre drilled holes which would really help. I needed to angle very carefully the screws for the yellow rear roof supports into the car so that it attached properly. Also, the screws are not high quality, if used with a power screwdriver you should use a low speed setting or the heads risk over heating. Took about 30 minutes to assemble. Considerably cheaper than the same item on the high street.

Once assembled a very fun toy!

We purchased the Cozy Coupe for our Granddaughters 2nd birthday. Glad we allowed plenty of time for assembly as similar to other reviews we found this not an easy job, even though were no strangers to DIY.

Criticisms are we found the screws supplied to secure the car roof in place were 5 mm too long and if not careful will pierce the outer skin of the roof.
The eyes are in my opinion of poor construction as when screwed to the front of the car the top is difficult to align. My Husband had to pack the underside so it now fits together securely, preventing little fingers investigating.

A better idea I think would be for the eyes to be one piece and clip in place similar to the floor in the car.

I was prepared for a marathon construction effort but it’s not as bad as some of the reviews on here make out! A battery screw driver makes life easy. There’s only about 12 screws in total and they are all pretty sharp to cut their own hole. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Also the box isn’t that big so would easily fit in most car boots.

Our one year old loves ‘driving’ it around with the floor fitted. It’s laughs and giggles all the way!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis was purchased as a present for my 3 year old who absolutely loved a similar model owned by a family friend. It’s obviously a bit of a design classic as ride-on toys go! I was putting it together in my lunch hour and it seemed that most of the younger members of staff had one as a child – and still had very fond memories of it!

It doesn’t come fully assembled and you’re probably better off preparing yourself for a little bit of work on that front. You’ll certainly need a hammer and a Philips head screwdriver. Putting on the roof is the hardest part as you need to apply pressure to the roof whilst driving self-tapping screws straight into thick plastic – without pilot holes. The instructions recommend getting someone to push down on the top as you screw with an electric driver. I managed to do it myself by lying over the top of the car and putting my own weight on it, and using brute force and a traditional screwdriver to drive the screws in. It took me about an hour in all.

Once put together it’s a really sold ride on (or ride in). The steering wheel turns (although it doesn’t steer). There’s a horn that squeaks, an ignition key that clicks as it turns and a petrol cap to fiddle around with. There’s also a plastic floor that can be inserted or removed depending on whether your child is ready to put their feet down or not. The door on one side can be opened although there is a little latch that allows you to lock it shut if you wish. The age range is between 1 1/2 and 5 years. My son has just turned 3 and he’s a perfect fit for it.

My son loves his little car! Was a little fiddly to put together but got there in the end. Don’t understand why there’s 2 inch screws to hold the roof together. Be careful when screwing these in as one of the screws went theough the plastic on the outer side, so now there’s a hole visible. 1 inch screws would have done the job here…

Really great when it’s together but is a real pain putting it together, honestly I read the reviews and advice and still didn’t realise how awkward it was. If you have your own set of good tools it isn’t too bad but I didn’t and I was up until about 3am, nearly at crying point by the time I finally finished!

Fantastic product, very well made & very loved by all children so much so we have arguments when my daughters cousins come over. Putting this together was a bit interesting, I couldn’t suss where some screw went etc but I’m no good at things like that! :L Will stay in good condition as all other Little Tikes products providing it’s looked after & kept in a shed & not out through the weather. Fully recomend though, I even had hours of fun as a child with one of these as well 🙂

i bought this for my two Granddaughters (twins|) aged 2 for their birthday, what a hit it was, they love it, reason for 4 stars is it takes a little while to put together and some of it we could not figure out how to do it but once it was up it was quite sturdy and wheeled around very easily

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI had three of these things to build, the item is great when it’s built but assembly is a nightmare. 90% of the build is fine its the installation of the 4 screws that basically hold the roof on place. The car has no pre drilled holes so the easiest way to do this is hammer a screw hole as you won’t get a drill that fits into the small space. Then I used a Bosch IXO screwdriver with a right angle adapter and a bit of force to get the screws to go through the plastic. Unfortunately that’s a bit of added expense luckily I already had this on my toolbox.

    Nice Car, Poor Assembly

My son loves it!! The only downfall is with missing items. I have read loads of reviews about missing parts for this ride on. When I received the ride on,the floor board was missing which was a pain as my son still cant touch his feet on the floor and he needs that support. Amazon wanted us to send the whole product back to them( after all that hassle of assemblying it) which I didnt agree with so they asked me to but the missin part externally and they would refund me the money on my amazon account which they eventually did!

Classic children’s toy and a great toy for keeping toddlers active and using their imaginations. The Coupe comes in a large sturdy cardboard box and all the pieces are easily distinguished from the instructions. The instructions are pretty fool proof if you follow step by step.
The only issue I had putting the coupe together was the two front bars that join the base to the roof. You have to wiggle them forwards and backwards to get them into place and I really struggled. If they had pillars that clipped into place so they couldn’t be pulled up once pushed into place then it would be a lot easier to put together.
The plastic of the Coupe is thick and durable and the bright colours really appeal to my 2 and 3 year old sons. The toy is too large for indoor use unless you have a very spacious house but will be a great hit when the weather is warmer. My two year old struggled to push himself around on carpet but on a smoother surface i’m sure he’ll manage to push himself around. My 3 year old (who is quite small for his age) pushed himself around with ease. The children also pushed each other around in the car so its a great toy for bonding and getting children engaging with each other and also for learning to share (this can be touch and go but they are getting the hang of taking it in turns in the car – work in progress). Brilliant toy.

We bought this car for our 21 month old son for christmas after he’d played with it at a playgroup we go. He totally loved it from the first minute and I think we are going to get many years use out of it as opposed to so many of the other walker ride on type toys which don’t look very sturdy and tend to be stored in a corner very quickly.

The car is sturdy, roomy and easy for us to push around. It has a yellow floor which can be used to push baby/toddler around in if they aren’t big enough to ride it alone.

The only down-side (and it is a major problem!!) is that it takes forever to construct. It took my husband approx 70-80 minutes to build, and he made a few mistakes along the way. I’d suggest if buying as a gift for a toddler/child to maybe build the night before you will need it. Also maybe watch the instruction video online a few times too.

That being said, after the preliminary pain – it is an awesome car and we all totally love it!

Writing this after just assembling! Took me about an hour from unboxing to fully assembled. I can see how it could take quite a bit longer and be a lot more difficult!! My advice

    1. Don’t assemble solely using provided instructions. There is an assembly video in 2 parts on YOU Tube which is more helpful.(search COZY COUPE)

    2. Two people are needed for assembly, particularly when it comes to screwing in the roof and support pillars.

    3. There is marked grooves(hard to see) were the screws should be placed.

    4. Push the main back axle through each of the wheels before you begin assembly, this makes it a little easier later on.

The toy itself actually seems pretty solid once constructed properly

Now what I say about this car !!!!
I bought this for my Grandson’s 2nd birthday because my other grandson has had one for about a year and he absolutely loves it as now does my 2 year old, My problem and why it is not getting a 5 star rating, ASSEMBLING THE THING!!! it took my son who is a very good handyman 2 hours, of course by which time he had to take it out of sight to continue the work as all my Grandson wanted to do was play with it, not much to ask on his birthday!!!!!
Why can’t the manufacturers give an option to pre assemble and charge a bit more for doing so??

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy son plays with this constantly at playgroup so I wanted to get one for at home. Amazon was by far the cheapest seller and delivery was flawless arrived the next day which was fantastic. As previous reviews stated took a while to assemble. The Instructions are in black and white and all parts are coloured but with some time taken at the beginning to lay out all pieces and careful reading of the instructions it was fine. There’s also a video on you tube should you get stuck. However. Once the car was assembled I had a problem with the door, in that it was not sitting right and therefore would not close or open without some considerable force which as an adult I could manage fine, but my 21mth old son found it impossible. This was never an issue on the same cars at playgroup or that I’ve seen in the past so I figured it was a fault with the car/ door alignment itself. My husband checked it and he agreed it didn’t sit properly and would never work properly so I had no choice but to send it back. My son was so disappointed but we aim to get him another. Overall had the car door worked properly I would have kept it…it is a sturdy car my son loved it and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommenting it. It’s just unfortunate ours was faulted. Amazon refunded it no problem and collected it free of charge …can’t fault amazon their service was impeccable!

The only fault I can find with this item could be considered a big one!. The screws provided to fasten the roof to the supports were too long, and if I hadn’t noticed when tightening them up they would have projected through the roof by about an eighth of an inch! As it is the first screw has left an impression in the roof plastic that is a bit unsightly, but luckily has not caused anyone injury. Be careful when putting your toy together! Apart from this fault the car is well made and is enjoyed by my grandson.

There is a bit of assembly required, which I always enjoy. The build quality is very sturdy indeed, better than I expected, there’s metal where I expected plastic so the Coupe is built to last. The cup holders are the perfect size for little mans drink bottles to. I really can’t fault it. Highly recommended!

We love the little car and so does our grandson who is 19 months. It’s probably his favourite toy. We couldn’t get the front wheel hubs to lay firmly within the inner wheel space, unlike the back wheels . We were sent new parts very quickly and the service was courteous and helpful. These caused the same problem and once the hub nut is on , is very hard to remove. However once it’s all put together it runs smoothly and the wheels are very securely fixed. Maybe they are supposed to be like this for a reason? We are very pleased with it though.

  42. Terry Walsh says:

Excellent for 1 1/2 to 2 year olds but nightmare to build. You definitely need a power drill and tiny hands to screw in screws in the lower rear yellow frame. I tried with a manual screwdriver , which is too long to fit in the space and ended up with blisters in my hands! Annoyingly there are no pre cut holes in the hard plastic to manually screw in the holes so you really do need the force of a power drill or tiny STRONG hands as the screws are in a really awkward place.
The car is a perfect height for me to push my son in as I’m 5ft 8″ and with some other toys I have to hunch over really low and hurt my back.
I anticipate years of fun with my little boy with this as it can be used both indoors (big space required) or outdoors and can withstand getting wet as there are no electric parts and looks like it can withstand some rough playing by little explorers.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this car for my son’s 2nd birthday (which was yesterday) and he absolutely loved it, I bought a personalised number plate seperately and it looks cool, my suggestion is to assemble the car at night when your child is sleeping, it took me 3 hours to put together, you need to use some force to get things in to place, the hardest was the 2 front plastic poles to support the roof, you have to try and hook it in to the car frame yanking back and forth with one hand and pressing down with the other, it took me 30 minutes alone to get these in! You’ll need a few tools such as a hammer to bang a few things in to place (I was praying the kids don’t wake up with all that noise!) The steering wheel was a little hard too but I finally got it in, screwing the back panels in to the roof and frame made my hands ache as there’s no holes and you need to use some force on a screw driver to get the screw in! I was cursing the car whilst putting it together but seeing my son so happy made me realise it was worthwhile 🙂 it’s a must buy and I definitely recommend it.

This is a classic toy seen in many a nursery and play group.

There are also a number of gender and profession versions of this which make picking the ideal one easy.

We went for the Classic as it can be used by either boy or girl.

As a toy it really does do what its supposed to do and out little one loved being wheeled about in it

I nearly knocked a star off because the construction is fiddly, awkward and contains far more metal screws than I would have expected.

Also be very very very careful with the front wheels as it even with careful checking it is incredibly easy to get them on the wrong way

This was delivered very quickly and my nephew loves it. The only down side is its very very hard to assemble. Very hard…as I had no men to ask for help, and I’d sent my slaves home for Xmas holidays – it took a lot longer than it would have. The instructions are fine. Its the physical side of it. You need a drill (one that’s small enough to get the screws in small awkward tight places) but that’s powerful enough to go through the plastic. The screws lost their thread easily due to the small drill struggling to screw it in the plastic. But my larger, more powerful drill wouldn’t fit. And unless you’re the hulk, there’s no chance of screwing those screws in with a screwdriver. I did try magicing it together, as I was told that positive thinking means you are capable of achieving anything. But again, this didn’t work. Apart from the assembly ruining my life for that day, the fact my nephew loves it is enough to make you forget about the sheer turmoil you experience.

Another downside is now my 1.5 year old nephew now thinks every car like that belongs to him. So in adventure playgrounds he claims one, and sits in it the whole time. Guarding it. Will not play, and tries to remove other people if they’re in it first. But I guess it’s good learning experience for him.

We had a problem with the first car that was delivered, but they were really good with collecting the product and sending out a new replacement one. The second car we received was fantastic and my little boy loves it! Really easy to put together, but you do need a drill which I didnt think you would do for a plastic product, so just be warned 🙂

Allow up to 3 hours to assemble.
Ours had undersize holes in wheels preventing them from turning and moulding flash on most parts where they fit together which had to be carefully cut off with a Stanley knife.
Roof screws could easily penetrate outer plastic skin if not put in at an appropriate angle. Beware, there are no guides for screws, just grooves in about the right place.
Steering wheel was very stiff, again mouldings had to be trimmed.
Once assembled, it is such a good, fun toy that it is forgiven the foregoing hassle, we also bought the matching trailer and the whole thing makes a great toy which is played with for hours.
My advice? Assemble before giving it to your child, children and Stanley knives don’t mix!

Our toddler loves this car so much, it is great but the front wheels do have a mind of their own and you do risk divorce if you assemble with a partner, be patient! Study instructions carefully, also not convinced that some screws are the best fit as one of ours came out the other side of the plastic, you need to angle them well.

I bought for my sons first birthday and his face was a picture when we first took him for a spin. His sister (.2.5) has also taken a shine for it and loves sitting in it. Can be adjusted so she can use her legs to motor around. Looks really lovely too.
However, I will reiterate what other reviewers have said- it really is difficult to assemble. Patience and brute force required in equal measure. The wheels alone are a nightmare to put on…

bought this for my 16 months old daughter, she likes playing with it. We use it indoors and outdoors as well. The only negative are the front wheels, they do not stay in place and keep turning inwards, sometimes stopping the car from moving. Definitely need redesigning. That’s the only one negative I found on this toy so that’s why 4 stars

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally excellent product that was delivered on time by an extremely friendly driver. After reading several reviews before purchasing, i was slightly discouraged by the such harsh reviews about how amazingly awkward the product was to assemble, all the comments about having to have some sort of degree to understand the instructions..What an earth for?, me and my partner worked effortlessly and managed to completely assemble the car less than an hour after it was delivered. No brute force was needed, just an extremely sharp screw driver and you’re away! All the parts we’re present and even an extra hub cab and spare screw were left over from the assembly!

Very glad i bought this product despite the bad reviews about how annoying it was to assemble!. My 2 year old adores his new ‘brum-brum’

Bought for grandson of 15 months, he loves it.

Car has to be assembled but this was not difficult and the pictorial instructions were clear. We left the floor in as his legs too short yet for him to be able to negotiate the car himself, but we push him around. Easy to negotiate and easy for him to climb in and out. The floor is easy to remove as he gets older.

Bought this as a Christmas present, primarily for our two youngest children, but all four have enjoyed playing in it – and their friends. It’s bright, sturdy and easy for children to use. It took a long while to put it together, but it’s been so well played with, the time was well spent. I was also lucky enough to buy it for significantly less that the usual price. A really good quality toy

got this for the granddaughter ’17 months old’ for easter and she loves it
came just as described identical to the photos, assembly could have gone
smoother but can’t see why we should knock off stars when where reviewing
the product not the idiots putting it together. as other people have said its
best to do a little homework and read the instructions thoroughly before
assembly. I couldn’t assemble this myself as recovering from surgery. so after
a bit of swearing from son and mom, because roof wouldn’t stay in place. looked at
instructions and noticed it had to be drilled and screwed ‘just love it when I’m right’.
overall lovely toy car ‘don’t know why it’s got a door she always climbs threw other

This little car is amazing but there is a very good reason why I havnt given this a 5 star rating, the lack of information regarding the need for a drill and screwdriver which are fundamental and you will need to be fit and agile to put this together and screw all the pieces but do pursevere as the finished item is fab, my grandson thinks its the best thing ever.

My grandson loves this car, the new updated version has some great extras, the foot board than can be fitted inside is a brilliant idea as the car can be used by younger children without them getting their feet stuck, the addition of a lock on the door is another great addition great little safety feature, and my grandson loves the cup holder that has been added to the back. Would recommend this for any budding little motorist!

As many have said the toy is brilliant, the construction is a nightmare!

It took over an hour to put it together, if you have a drill it would be easier but I was using a screwdriver and brute force.

One tip: When you connect the yellow roof to the back you need to screw in through the boot area into the roof struts, this gives you about 5 inches to fit a 2 inch screw and a 7 inch screwdriver, which is not exactly simple. So screw in the screws as far as you can BEFORE putting the struts in place to give you a slight head start on the next bit.

By the time I had finally managed to convince the screws to enter the car I had actually worn a layer of skin off my hand, I am typing this one handed the day after (NOT JOKING!).

I ordered this one for my 1 and a half year old son who loooooves playing with this car. It has a footplate for smaller children so you can push them along, holding onto the car at the handle at the back of the roof on the car. The footplate means no small feet get cought under the car and helps keep their feet up and safe 🙂
Now my son is 22 months old and has managed to work out how you get the car moving backwards using his feet and legs. He does however like to push it along and often sits his teddies in the seat and pushes them along in the car and has a great time. He laughs ans he pushes them

I can’t really fault the product. It was easy to assemble and was easily my son’s favourite birthday present. I’ve only knocked one star off of my rating as my son (who’s 2) managed to tip the car onto it’s side whilst inside it and landed with his fingers trapped in the hinge of the door. Although it hurt, with his weight bearing down on top, there was no damage done, which was due to there being no sharp edges. And he, my eldest son and all of their friends always want to play in it. Very popular.

Very funny little car. I like the fact that there is a buttom so she can fall out. She got this for her 1st birthday and loved it straight from the beginning. Now she is 20 months and still loves it. Now she uses it without the buttom in and get arround in the garden herself. Worth the money. Still looks like a brand new car. Would recommend it to everyone – with out a doubt in my mind 🙂

The online video instructions made the assembly much easier than i anticipated, and much more simpler than trying to figure out the paper instructions that came in the box. There are no pre drilled holes on the body for the screws to go in so you will need an electric screwdriver as doing it with a hand screw driver would be a nightmare.

My little boy loves this car and it was worth the time it took to assemble!

Every parent knows about the little tykes cozy coupe. Somehow they’ve tapped straight into the toddler psyche and the little ones love them.

As with a lot of toys some assembly is required and on the whole its easy to do but the screws that secure the rear roof pillars to the body are very fiddly to get in and i had to use 3 different screwdrivers to get them in and flush.

It’s an iconic toy for a reason but be patient with the assembly.

The only negative is that although the assembly instructions are very clear it does take about an hour to build, however after i had finished putting it together i spotted there was video instructions available on line which would have been helpful! i wouldn’t let this put you off though as its a great product and will last for years! There are copies available but from what i have seen they are not as well made.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis has been a great success but it was extremely frustrating trying to build it. There were many ‘design’ faults, including
screw holes in completely the wrong places. It took both my husband and I a great deal of time and brute force to get the roof to stay in place. The footplate required for my one year old grandson was never ever going to fit the way it arrived. The two
pieces which were supposed to keep the footplate in place were again the wrong distance apart. My husband is very good at
carpentry and DIY so I feel very sorry for anyone with little or no DIY skills. Having said all that, my grandchildren love it and will
get many hours of enjoyment from it. My oneyear old grandson likes being pushed along the drive and sits inside enjoying every minute. The door lock works very well so there is no chance he will fall out.

Although the delivery was a little too quick as it had arrived when my young 2 year old son (whom the item was for a surprise for his 3rd birthday!!).

A great present for 2 or 3 year old kid though it took about an hour to put the thing together which did require a hammer, screwdriver and a dart to pierce a hole for screws as there weren’t any pre-grooved dimples on the plastic to guide you where to put the 2 inch screws into and also a little tricky hammering the axle together onto the wheels – an easy enough job for your average car mechanic but without offending all mums, it is rather like building a mini car from scratch which requires a bit of brut force!!

All parts in order including stickers etc.

A happy result after an hour or so of fiddling around looking for hammers, screwdrivers etc!!

Many thanks to Amazon for excellent service.

I bought this lovely car for my 14 month nephew who instantly fell in love with it. He took very little time to get the hang of it and has been enjoying riding it for 3 months now. His 4 year old sister loves it, too. It’s spacey and comfy and very easy to manouvre even indoors. It looks really hard wearing, it’s easy to wash and very safe indeed to ride. Both kids were at first really fascinated by the security lock on the door! They spend hours taking turns to use it as a push chair for one another, too.

Mind you,it takes quite some time to assemble, so make sure you allow at least half an hour if you’ve done a similar job before. Otherwise, there’s a very helpful video on the internet for you to watch to help you put it together.

This is a fantastic product which kids will love.
Lots of great design features including the in-built handle in the roof for mums and dads to ‘steer’, plus a removable floor for smaller kids so their feet are safe and enclosed while you go for a walk, with the sliding door lock proving an effective and simple way to keep them in.

    BUT,
This is the second Little Tykes Cozy Coupe I have bought and built in as many months and this second one was not the same build quality:
The components did not fit together nearly as well which is annoying and there were fairly substantial pieces of drilled plastic knocking about inside. The ‘lights’ did not fit flush, the metal bars for the wheels were not cut quite right, and I had to use a file their widen the hole for the steering wheel so that the steering wheel could actually be turned.
At the end of the day, however, my daughter loves it and does not care about the above points, so I would still recommend this this product.

Since purchasing the car it has provided them with hours of fun! I was a little worried after reading reviews about putting it together, but it went together perfectly & didn’t take too long at all (although my husband is an aircraft engineer so that might of given us an advantage) I have no doubt that this is going to be a long standing favourite toy for them both! My little girl loved this car whenever we went anywhere that had it, to the point we bought it for our garden. I wanted so badly to give this five out of five, because it is great and a real classic. However, it was so difficult to assemble. It took my husband and me about 2 hours, and we even had to buy a new tool (a smaller screwdriver). For that, it has to drop a point. On the plus side, it has been used very day now since we bought it, and my daughter still adores it.

Toddler likes playing in it, pretending to drive by turning key and moving steering wheel. He also likes putting petrol (usually leaves) in the car. I find only problem is that you have option to have feet on the floor or a platform to rest feet on so parent can push child using handle bar. Bit of a faff to keep taking the platform out and putting back in. It would be good to have a hybrid so that the toddler can have feet on floor and somewhere to rest feet on, without having to keep putting the platform back in.

When putting the roof on is were most say is the problem and hubby says it is a squeese but he used his lighter to heat the really thin screwdriver and this then made the hole easier to put the screws in so would recommend doing this. it went up no problem and my sons face on his birthday when he saw it was a tear jekrin moment and he has never got out of it since. I think the fact that these cars have been around for so many years says how great they are. Always a hit with little ones. Purchased for my daughter’s 3rd birthday along with the trailer and personalised number plate which was great value. Seems pretty sturdy, should last for a long time. My friend’s daughters play with one that she had when she was young and after 30 years it’s still going strong. My daughter had it for her birthday yesterday and was in constant use during her party with one child sat in the car, whilst another was being pulled along in the trailer behind, they had great fun. I can’t comment about how easy the build was as left hubby indoors to do it whilst took daughter out but the fact that he hasn’t complained must mean it was ok!

My 16 month baby boy loved this in the toy store so i bought it for 36.57 from Amazon PRIME next day delivery.

Comes in a light but large box. You need to construct this in a certain order and you need a hammer, screwdriver and drill (with philips bit).

The car is not that safe, as my son tries to enter the car and as he does he pushes it away and cant get in, unless it is next to a table / wall where the car cannot move. With practice he can get used to it no doubt.

Also a couple of times he has tried to get out but instead toppled the whole car and got trapped inside. Again im sure he will get used to this as he has never played with this kind of toy before.

Construction takes about 2 hours, it took about an hour to find the hammer!

Overall, 4/5 stars. If they could completely move away from screws and make more parts assembled i.e the rear wheels and axel could have come pre assembled and we just snap it in to the base of the car. Drilling was not rally possible as my Black & Decker srill is huge and it looks like a small portable drill would have been the only one that could have worked easily.

Not the easiest toy to assemble. We had vaseline handy to ease the connections as suggested but you need a bit of brute strength!! Took about an-hour-and-a-half. Great end result though. Our 2-year-old loves it! Very robust and definitely worth the money. Would be great to be able to buy a waterproof cover for it so we could keep it in the garden as it’s quite large for the house. (Manufacturers take note!) Very pleased with this toy car.

My son absolutely loves his little car. I have to admit, as a seasoned DIYer, it wasn’t the easiest of assemblies. I didn’t require a drill as the instructions implied but screwing some of the screws is hard going due to space you have for your fingers. I really recommend paying serious attention to the instruction, ideally giving them a once over before even starting.
The reason however why I have given it four and not five stars is that those plastic wheels really get scruffed up on tarmac and bringing back in our home the wheels marked our floor. Currently looking at getting so neoprene rubber to put on the wheels to resolve this issue.

Really pleased with this product however having read previous reviews I realised it would be a challenge putting it together and it certainly was, A power screwdriver was almost essential and a willing strong man too!!. Don’t buy one and hope to be able to put it together in a few minutes. We found the YouTube video particularly helpful although the numbers on their instructions did not correspond with the ones on ours! The actual product once put together is excellent although the key to pretend to turn the car on and off broke within a few days of use. Ours is used at toddler group so has heavy use. Would recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBought recently for my son’s 2nd birthday – his nursery has one so I knew how much he would like it.

You need to set aside around an hour to an hour and a half to build this properly, you will need a screwdriver, hammer and preferably a drill. There are excellent videos on youtube (links provided in the manuals). It can be assembled by one person but when you need to hammer the caps onto the metal axles then it’s much easier to do this on a firm surface and with another person helping you.

It’s a great toy and the build time is made worth it by the huge smiles my son has when he is in it. Once built properly it is very rugged and I expect it to last a fair few years, the only very slight negative is that the stickers don’t stay stuck on the slightly textured plastic – this could probably be cured by extra glue.

We bought this ride-on coupe for my little 2 year old daughter, who loves being pushed around in it. It takes a little time to assemble, so wish we had taken it out of the box and assembled it before showing her, as she became terribly impatient waiting for it to be made up! The stickers are easly removable which is not great for a 2 year old who thinks stickers are there to be picked off!

It seems to be a smaller interior than it’s predecessors, but its really solid and durable, which is great for crashing into things 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this on Nov 2010 when my son was two . We used to visit a playground which had one and he fell in love with it . He did not care for any other toys and since there was only one for many kids to play with , he was waiting for ages for his turn to ride it . When i saw it here on Amazon and noticed the price was more than perfect i ordered without a second thought . The box was delivered at home and i was lucky i was all by myself . I had the time to read the instructions very carefully before starting to assemble . I took it step by step with no rush . My boy was at school and my husband was at work so there were no interruptions to confuse me . I guess that was the secret for my success . I put it together all by myself and i took all the credit . It wasn’t easy but not impossible either . Just concentrate to what you are doing , take your time , all the way step by step and you will manage . After all this time i can assure you it is well made , sturdy , durable and a safe toy which still looks like new . And it gives so much joy to my son … Don’t spent a second to think about it , go for it 🙂

l bought this Little Tikes ride on for my wee grand daughter the reason l chose this particular colour and type was because her dad [my son] had the same one when he was a child nearly thirty years ago, it was his favourite toy then and it is hers now, my daughter in law is a childminder so it is well used and a hit for all the children, l know my grand daughter and her future siblings will get many years happiness from this toy so it was well worth the money paid.

I wanted to buy one of these for my two year old grandson for ages as he loves the ones they have at nursery. Having read the reviews on Amazon decided that I had best discuss the terrible stories regarding assembly with my daughter before I ordered. Daughter said to order it and that it couldn’t be that difficult. I said be warned. The Little Tike duly arrived and attempts by daughter to assemble failed. With a helping hand from her husband at the weekend they didn’t find it that difficult a job with two pairs of hands. They did, as others commented, have to drill the hole for the steering wheel and fix it with a different nut. My grandson is absolutely thrilled with it and daughter said it is well worth the effort of putting it together. She would recomend that you don’t show it to your child until it is assembled, because she did and had a very angry toddler when it was left in bits in the garage until daddy could ‘fix it’ !!!.

Tthe car itself has a door that opens for easy entry/exit front wheels that torn fully 360 degrees a hand slot on the roof at the rear for pushing and a removable floor so that a child can drive themselves using their feet. All in all a nice toy which should give any child years of pleasure.

My two year old son nearly exploded after ripping off the paper for his Cozy Coupe, he was that excited – he has access to several of them at his private nursery and is never very far away from them during the day. It was fairly easy to put together, if you are by yourself and your litte tike isn’t trying to help, but if there is another grown up available use them. Did seem strange putting metal screws into plastic but nothing has moved – even when he has tried out his tool set (plastic one) to ‘fix’ it – found it on its side. Well worth the money and if it lasts as long as his older brother’s Little Tikes items, he’ll outgrow it long before it wears out.

The only issue with quality is that the steering wheel keeps coming off, especially when she is turning the car. Having said that, that does not take away the enjoyment that my daughter gets from playing with this car. I think any toddler would enjoy this car. Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis cartoon-faced anniversary edition of the classic Little Tikes range is a lovely and very child-friendly addition to the series.

It is, unfortunately, something of a nightmare to assemble – Little Tikes fitments rarely simply slide/knock together as the instruction leaflet suggests. Thankfully, though, my mum has been assembling toys from this manufacturer for years and knew to suggest using washing up liquid to lubricate the fittings: child safe and easy to clean. This sped things up SIGNIFICANTLY.

Once built, this car is much-loved. But if children using it turn quickly and don’t have their weight centred in the car it does have a tendency to tip. Over time, these vehicles are prone to gaining weight and if you leave your child’s car outdoors or get them to put it away after use, you might find yourself getting a bit of a shock when next you go to move it. This is because the ‘petrol cap’ covers a small hole into the body of the car. Ideal for using a toy petrol pump, but also an irresistible posting hole for small fingers… and it doesn’t take long for quite a collection of stones, twigs etc to build up in one of these!

I was scared reading all this reviews about how difficult is to assemble this toy. They are true but only if you try to follow the printed instructions. Watching the video instructions and having an electrical screwdriver makes it much easier.

The toy is very sturdy, but my 2 years old son doesn’t seem to like it much. Maybe because he didn’t have the opportunity to use it outdoors and our flat isn’t roomy enough to move freely.

UPDATE: I said that my son did not like it. Well, that changed now. He loves it. There are days, that he uses it for all of his moves from one room to another. After some use I found that the front wheels do not work very well. They should follow the movement of the car and turn when it turns, but they do not always. It seems that they are built from hard plastic and do not have the appropriate friction.

We bought this for our 18-month-old son as a Christmas present. I totally agree with all the other reviews on the page – it was really hard to put together in that the parts aren’t made properly, i.e. holes were too small to fit metal rods through etc. I used the downloadable instructions on the little tikes website which were easier to follow especially the beginning sections where the small parts aren’t given to scale, so things look bigger or smaller than they really are, and are hard to match. Link: […]
The man on the video makes it all look very easy – he just slides pieces together whereas we were using a hammer and all our strength! It took 2 hours to put it together on Christmas Eve, but once done, it is an excellent toy – very durable and well put-together, and our son loved his Christmas present (our 3-year-old daughter loves it too!)

First of all, i would like to comment on the fantastic service amazon have provided for this purchase, i ordered the car on Saturday evening and it arrived Monday morning! fantastic!

Now the product, i was slightly concerned about construction of the toy (after reading other reviews) but it was quite easy really, perhaps 1 or 2 tricky placed screws to put in. But a good quality screwdriver and a bit of patience it is easy! It took me about 45 minutes to put it together once i gave the intructions a good read and laid out the pieces.

Overall, my Daughter was well happy with the car as soon as she was presented with the car she was strait in and rolling about!

We bought this for our 14 month old son, origionally intended for christmas. We gave it to him early and haven’t regretted it one bit. Yes it is a bit of a pain to build but deffinately well worth it. Our little boy loves anything with wheels but this car is now his favourite. He likes pushing it around the garden and stashing things in the wee storage bit on the back. I like the improvement of the handle on the back for parents. This is great toy something that’ll grow with him. It’s sturdy enough to be bashed against the house and not suffer, but light enough for him to easily push it anywhere he wants. He likes to ride around inside too, holds the wheel with one hand the other hanging out the side. Like any self respecting driver. The horn is a touch stiff for him at the moment but i’m sure he’ll be able to use it when he gets older. I would recomend this car to anyone with a small person. He totally loves it. I am very happy with the appearence and best of all the safety of this toy. Little hands explore everything and there is nothing to make me wary at all.

I brought this toy for my 15 month old son after he enjoyed playing with one at play group.
Easy to put together but takes a while as lots of pieces to put together.
My son loves the key and petrol cap, and the foot rest is great at the moment as my son not quite got to grips with lifting feet up when i push him around!
Definatley worth the money as will last and weather well.

Bought this for my nephew christmas 2009 and he’s not stopped using it since. They car is still in great condition and is ever so durable. Putting it together was a bit of a challenge so make sure you or someone you know is a bit of a handyman with these things as it does take some force to build, but i did finally do it after a few hours, the only bit i couldn’t perfect was the little white eyes on the front of the car so its not completely tight but its no issue. Once you put it together you won’t regret it. Just one bit of advice: Make sure you follow the instructions, don’t let yourself be fooled into thinking you have figured out which pieces go where as i did. Its not as obvious as it seems.

We had to send the first one back as one of the front metal legs had been incorrectly manufactured and there was no way it could be assembled. The second one arrived and my husband checked everything before assembling it. All went well until he tried to insert the left hand front pillar. Nothing would make it slot into place. We checked and re-checked the instructions and watched the video but it would not budge. Our grandson’s birthday was only two days away so my husband had to resort to tougher measures. He purchased a rubber mallet and after protecting the area with some tough plastic, he hit it about four times quite hard and it slotted into place thank goodness. It is made of very durable plastic and can easily withstand a bit of brute force. Our son purchased an earlier model of this car which did not have a door on the side and he says that this car is a great improvement. We had six young children in the room last Sunday taking turns with the car and they all loved opening and closing the door. Very popular gift and well worth the money. Our grandson has just reached 2 years and will get a lot of use out of it, but it is suitable for a much younger child as it has a removable base plate so the child can just sit in the car and you can push them along using the inbuilt handle at the back.

Our boy absolutely loves this car.
But it is really hard to build, even after watching the online demo video. It took both of us using all our weight and strength to get some of the parts in place. I came away exhausted and frustrated from building it. Be prepared unless you get the one perfectly fitting model, it will take time to put together. This was without doubt the hardest thing I’ve had to put together and I’ve built plenty of things in my time.
But he loves it, it is a great toy and his smiles are worth the hassle.

great kids toy.very durable once put together.
Putting together takes along time.Alot of the parts require brute force when putting together.
Cant understand why some of the parts could not have been partially assembled.Video link guide was useful but the person assemnbling on video link seemed to be able to slide parts with ease together which is definitely not the case.Once together (eventually) it is a tough little toy that can take alot of abuse.Great fun for my boys
