The best heavy duty blender I have ever purchased I done a lot of research before I purchase this item and it paid off this product is made in France not like many others light weights made in China this blender has a very heavy type 1.8 jug easy to clean the motor is very powerful and quiet very pleased great product easy to use.
This is a big blender, ideal for bulk blending for the freezer or for a large family. The container is made of thick glass which makes it quite heavy but also gives a feeling of quality. The lid can be a bit difficult to remove as it is a very tight fit (I am 76 and my hands are not as strong as they used to be). Using the blender could not be easier – chop up bulky ingredients, select the mode and press “Auto” – job done. I have used it to make soups, smoothies and as a mill – all with excellent results. Cleaning is also easy – there is a built-in cleaning mode which does the hard work and the base is easily removed to clear any stubborn bits and to dry it. My only complaint is that the “plug” for the centre of the lid is not the best fit and does not always stay in place – a minor inconvenience. Overall, a well made blender with a good motor, which feels as if it will last a long time. Excellent value.
The jug is glass, so yeah it’s going to be heavy. To clean, just add some water, a drop of washing up liquid and put it back on for the clean cycle.
I chose the Magimix over the Ninja blender & soup maker because of warranty, the Magimix seems to have more faith in their product.
I read a lot of blogs, comparisons and even subscribed to ‘Which?’ just to read the review on this blender. This was their top rated blender (equal with another blender made by Sage that cost slightly more).
Downsides others have noted are the weight of the glass. I prefer the slightly bulkier glass, it feels more premium and sturdy. It also has the benefit of being able to blend hot items such as soup which will be a big win by the time we get to winter.
So far I’ve tried a few different vegetable / fruit smoothies and have been pleased with the results. They match the outcomes found in the very extensive ‘Which?’ review.
I like the solidity of the jug but it is very heavy even when empty. I think the jug is larger than necessary even for a family of four. This makes handling it difficult at every point of use and cleaning. Getting the base with the cutters off the first time was a nightmare, difficult even with the spatula as a spanner. After a lot of effort, I put the jug on its side on a cloth and pressed down on one side of the spanner/spatula. This worked, but from now on it will have a drop of vege oil each time I put the unit together. The actual functioning of the liquidiser is good, though not excellent. I still had small bits not liquidised.
I wish I had chosen the Dualit one, which I think is better designed as well as cheaper.
The glass jar is thick and easy to clean. A bit heavy but that’s what you get if you prefer glass to plastic.
The different predefined programs make everything much easier, you just select the right program and the blender will do the rest automatically.
Perfect for breaking ice as well or other frozen ingredients like red fruits.
Very sturdy glass jug and the blades have handled everything we’ve asked of them. Great blending power and the auto clean function is genuinely useful too.
Firstly, it looks great. Absolutely lovely.
Secondly:the glass jug. It’s thick, crystal clear, glass, and weighs the same as an average cat. Try lifting a cat in one hand (if it let’s you). Heavy. Unlike a cat, the jug won’t struggle, so at least you don’t have that to contend with.
Thirdly: the lid. It’s like trying to get said cat to take a tablet. It’s a force fit. Happily, if you just wet the seal a tiny bit, it makes fitting the lid easier.
Fourthly: it still looks good.
Fifthly: really, really easy to use. There’s a little recipe book to follow so you can experiment with all the functions. However said recipe book does try to entice you to use the Magimix mill and Magimix citrus ress. Frankly, the cost of said extras doesn’t (in my opinion) warrant purchasing them.
Cleaning: easy peasy. It has an auto clean function.
Noise levels: quieter than most (it has a quietness award, I believe?). Still like a micro jet engine taxing for take off, and then accelerating. (better than a little jet engine, to be honest, which most blenders sound like.)
All in all, very pleased with this blender.
