Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersgreat tool. Uses a lot of battery so have your charger handy or a larger 3-5 amp battery

The only thing that would make this better is if it had a charge indicator on it. Otherwise, great tool!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought the Makita DCO180Z Cordless Drywall Cutout Tool because I wanted a drywall cutout tool with depth control.

I ended up getting the Makita DCO180Z because I have 18V Lithium-Ion batteries. It only made sense to use the same battery packs that I already have.

The product comes with the cut-out tool, collet wrench, and TWO (2) 1/8 drywall cut-out bits.

The on-off switch takes some time to get use to. It isn’t just a slide on and off switch. To turn the cut-off tool on you have to push down and slide to the on position. To turn it off, you need to just simply slide the switch down. I guess this feature is to avoid any un-intentional accidents from miss-handling the power switch.

Remember to have a shop-vac / drywall vacuum near by as the cut-out tool generates a lot of dust. As well as the motor causes a swirling air effect which spreads the drywall dust everywhere. I don’t think this is a deficiency or a flaw but it is something the operator should be aware of.

Depth control is easy to adjust or set — a thumbscrew sets the guard at the appropriate height.
Removing the cutting bit requires the use of locking the rotary tool (holding the lock button down on the tool) and using the supplied wrench that fits the collet.

Furthermore, I made a box opening video for those who are curious or interested in the product before purchasing it can be found on my YouTube channel listed in my Amazon profile.
