You will definitely not be unhappy with your purchase but full PPE and be careful
Had to get a replacement as 1st delivery disappeared !!!!! A heavy bit of kit but made short work of cutting 22mm thick porcelain outdoor slab / tiles. I would recommend this angle drive but it is heavy. Well known Brand and 240v helped as no need for a 110v transforme
Used the angle grinder to cut slabs to allow me to install drainage channels around the house. Only bad thing l say about the angle grinder it that l found it the be heavy.
Bought as nearly used. Came without handle, spanner, carrycase or instructions. Have bought all of these from various websites and the total cost more than if I would have purchased new. Buyer beware of nearly new
Always liked Makita grinders. This rascal doesn’t snatch and makes easy pickings of brick work or flags.
Used this to cut concrete slabs excellent really good value for money
Great value for money. I was going to buy the dewalt which was 60 more expensive but took a chance with this. Worked great on the project I needed it for.
Had to cut down eight concrete posts and base panels with rebars in them into manageable sizes. With the correct blade did it with ease. Would recommend.
As experienced person around diy tools, it was easy to use
Great product, does the task in hand and was value for money.
This angle grinder is incredibly powerful and needs strength to use it. Having said that it is superb. I got it to cut coping stones and fence posts and panels. It handles all tasks superbly easily.
Beware it weighs a lot. Very well built its a quality product. Probably too expensive for an occasional use tool.
Typical great quality product. But no storrage box……… come on Makita
This is great works well it’s a heavy duty piece of kit, cuts through well basically everything and anything. It’s got some weight to it!
Really happy with this.
Good build quality though slightly heavy. Cut through like butter.
This is a beast of a grinder, cut through paving slabs with ease. Very well made and cheaper on Amazon than screwfix and the like.
Used over 8 years, almost daily for cutting slabs and concrete in my landscaping business. Works fine with cheap Erbauer diamond ‘Turbo’ discs from Screwfix for 15 a go.
Cannot fault this tool in any way – still works as if new. You can’t beat Makita gear.
Really heavy beast arrived quickly but no case as standard. The carton box wouldn’t resist very long and it’s not big enough to carry the tool with the garde. Couldn’t find the proper case for it so send it back in original carton box before using it, shame but no practical. Amazon will refund it no problems. Very good customer service.
Good bit of kit with more than enough power. Also the lightest 9″ grinder I have used. Only faff is the safety lock on the switch is a bit awkward when wearing welding gloves.
A total monster cuts concrete like butter.
Nice and heavy and no catching or grabing the concrete or brick or even metal.
Good quality grinder, well made and you can tell the build quality immediately. Firm believer that you get what you pay for, this wasn’t the cheapest but definitely worth the extra.
Bought it for my grandson and he loves it . Dad is jealous because much better than his .
Brilliant grinder with soft start, used to cut through reinforced concrete with a Bosch blade. Made a 3″ deep cut 6 meters long through 15 pieces of 12mm rebar in 7 minutes! It cuts concrete as well as a petrol stihl saw! For a quarter of the price.
Used to cut Coping stones on top of garden wall to fit ….cut through easily…. take your time back and forth ,stop, carry on,rest as required, don’t rush as it’s a heavy piece of kit, used with 9 inch diamond blade for cutting stone
This is a surprising large and heavy tool but is excellent, very pleased.
I would just like to know who received the original delivery which was delivered to an incorrect address, Post Code correct but partly my fault as there was a small error. Amazon were brilliant.
good product does the job well, but for some reason the soft start does not seem to work.
Absolute beast of a machine that demands respect and will cut through just about anything like butter with 2000w behind it.
Please use appropriate PPE when using this! You need concentration and two hands to use it. The weight is roughly 9kg loaded with blade.
This is a 5 star machine but I’m deducting one star due to the fact that it doesn’t come with a case as standard – but it’s so big that you need one. All you get is a cardboard box.
As I found to my cost, the correct case for this item is not easy to find and even when you do it costs roughly 35 – 40 as a optional extra.
Due to this I sent mine back and found another online provided with the genuine Makita case + 1 x diamond blade as standard for less than 120 including free postage.
Much better to have the genuine case for storage and carriage.
Ending on a positive it is made in the EU.
Great piece of kit, robust and very reliable.
I used it when building a wall and laying a patio. Used to cut numerous slabs and with a diamond blade it was really easy to use.
Would highly recommend
This is a really solid piece of kit! Heavy to use, but feels powerful. I haven’t yet used it on the heavy duty jobs for which it was bought, but my initial impressions are that it will do the job. Neither do I yet know how reliable it will prove in the long term.
Ensure you wear the protective gear, I purchased this in order to cut paving slabs (sandstone), the unit is fairly heavy, this is both good and bad, good as when cutting the weight of the unit helps glide through the stone easily, bad if you are doing those awkward angles as it can give you arm ache. I bought some goggles, tough gloves and a face mask, which I would recommend you do the same.
It is a powerful unit which seems solid and robust.
One of the cheaper ones I found. Great, done the work
Laid 106 Marshal Pendle Concrete Slabs and made loads of cuts including for 3 recessed man holes – did the job – great piece of Equipme
I bought this to replace an old JCB model where the motor had failed. I have used both diamond cutting and abrasive grinding/cutting disks on natural stone and concrete paving; seems to be very efficient and accurate cutter with diamond blade, and easy to manoeuvre when grinding. Great tool.
On off button cud be better otherwise a good tool
Great bit of kit, add a diamond cut blade and goes through slabs a knife through butter. It is a wee bit on the heavy side so can get a bit difficult if using a lot.
Genuine looking feeling makita, abused already and doing it’s job nicely
incredible, no complaints, works as supposed to
very heavy though
Brilliant piece of equipment. Used for cutting steel the grinder performed the task effortlessly. Also cut stone paving slabs for the garden. Really pleased with the finished result.
I’ve had this for a few months now and it has been very reliable. It has had some heavy use cutting hard brick and concrete with no problems
Awsome piece of kit ,chopped multiple council paving slabs ,then moved onto rought iron gates and a tree stump ,after that i decided i needed something else to use this beast on ,so now i crack it out every sunday ,goes through chicken ,turkey and gammon like a hot grinder through concrete ,however be carful of kickback if you encounter a tough roast ,that beef can ocasionally fight back !!
Very easy to use although it is a bit heavy. Slow start means accurate cuts . Very pleased with product.
bought this for my partner, who has only used it a few times, but is good and does what it needs to do
Really powerful.
Has a hole to screw the handle in the middle which is a great feature. It’s heavy but ok and it makes it stable.
Can’t seem to get it to go without me holding the trigger which is why it dropped a star.
Otherwise would be 5 stars
Used for stone cutting, does the job perfectly. Lots of power, just what I needed
I was very impressed with this grinder, I did buy a cheap 9 inch grinder from a well know German chain and it did not last a day. This is a very good grinder. FYI I am a time served fabricator that has used grinders for 30 years.
I have had one previously hence why I purchased another it’s powerful enough and at a very good price comparing to Diy stores at the time of purchase
Great piece of kit, used it for cutting
Paving flags,very powerful
Beast. Reliable. Easy to use. Makita all the way. Cuts through pavers, accurately, with ease. Terrifying.
very heavy but real good and the soft start is excelle
We bought this for our son and he says it good
Excellent machine, and fast delivery. Could not ask for more.
Great bit of kit, soft start is excellent fetcher for cutting when accuracy is needed
good grinder, very powerful, all depends on quality of blade though.
good beefy machine cut up loads of concrete no probs
seems pretty good so far, i’ve been using it to cut sandstone flags which is does very well. Seems solidly made… only concern i have is that the instructions imply the guard that is supplied isn’t for use with cutting blades, its for grinding.
I’ve only used this item a few times since I bought it but none the less very pleased with this product. Good quality solid feel and gliding performance. And good solid spindle lock mechanism.
Excellent product just the job for cutting concrete edging blocks.
This is a beast and you really have to have a good grip, full concentration and obviously full protective stuff. Been using to cut random stone, sandstone grit, york paving and large river stones. It kicks back like nothing else if it gets caught but its fantastic to use and goes through very hard stone with no problems. I contemplated using it with a wood saw blade fitting but I think I would end up cutting off a body part so I’ll still to a chain saw
Well its Makita – what else can i say. Great product – Very Happy
Good solid machine. Suppose to have soft start but doesn’t seem to. But it did the job really well.
Can be really heavy to hold for longer periods
Makita GA9020S 240V 9-inch/230mm Angle Grinder… ordered on Wednesday and delivered to my door on Thursday and absolutely delighted with the Grinder, also cheaper than I could find elsewhere.
Brilliant
Thanks
This is a real quality tool.
I bought it to replace my old one same model which I had for years of hard use before it died.
It has a soft start which is really useful.
You can get much cheaper ones from the diy chains etc but they are nowhere near as good and won’t last.
Fantastic the soft start make it so mutch better quick delivert very happy
Great item, really easy to use, just need a case for it now as never noticed it came in a cardboard box, my mistake
Name says it all and cuts through all with ease
Brilliant piece of kit and at a decent price too!
I can’t speak for this one yet as I’ve only had it a little while but the previous one was excellent
It ran for more than ten years without a problem
This is a quality product, it’s been worked hard over this last year and proved to be reliable, powerful and efficient, I am thrilled with the purchase!
I am building a new path at the front of my house and needed something to cut the block pavers with. I could have hired a block splitter but that only cuts in one direction. My path has an S bend in the middle and I have just spent the day cutting blocks to fit the corners. I am really happy with this cutter, it is quite heavy when first picked up but I have found that this aids control when cutting. This cutter will cut a 50×160 block in about 20 seconds and I have found that I can shave as little as 2mm with ease. I have come to expect quality from Makita and this grinder is no exception. I am more than happy to recommend it as a cracking bit of kit.
