I’m using this lock on my back gate and so far it;s done really well. it certainly seems to be weatherproof.
There is nothing more frustrating than losing the key to your padlock and so I decided to replace my locker padlock with a combination code. It is not that difficult to set but I have issues with getting it aligned and rotating the tumblers which I find don’t rotate as smoothly as I would like. This is frustrating as well but not as problematic as losing a key and so I am going to stick with it.
Brought to use to lock out lock for our stores shutters, so far so good, but only time will tell if it can handle the bad weather.
My husband takes a trunk when he travels with work as opposed to a suitcase just because he can carry more. The thing is his trunk has the facility to add two locks but he know has one so always a bit worried the the trunk will ha e a weakness at either end. Now this lock makes his trunk far more secure as he can have a lock at either end and either have the same locking code or different. Not sure which he has chose to go for but he is very happy with the lock and found it very easy to set even with his rather large hands. He now has piece of mind when he boards a plane as opposed to before. Not sure about using outside permanently but for travel its perfec
Combination locks can be really useful in that there is no key to lose or fiddle with, they can, however be a flippin’ nuisance if, on a dark rainy night when your glasses are either steamed up or out of reach, you cant read the numbers. So there are pros and cons to them. This one is marketed as “heavy duty”, but I have my doubts, as we have had — and do have — much heavier padlocks than this. However for securing something that isn’t particularly valuable it does the job. Having said that if someone really wants to get into your garden or locked box, the long shackle makes it easy to crowbar the lock off.
Putting in your own code is simply a matter of pulling the shackle up, twist it 180 then enter your 4 numbers. Turn the shackle back and lock. Done.
Not bad, but there are better ones out there.
Padlocks are great, but many of them act more of a deterrent than actually stopping a full on break in. A violent thief or one with the right tools could make quick work of a door or lock like this ‘Maudex Combination’. However, it will give them a second thought and slow them down a little so hopefully the outdoor auto light to come on.
We use padlocks more to keep outdoor shed doors closed and not flap in the wind. This ‘Maudex’ works perfectly for this. It will also work well for a gym if you have to bring your own lock. It uses a combination that you can set up with a little tricky work. Once setup it does open and close easily with the code you inputted. An added bonus to this lock is that it also looks nice, especially the red version.
Over lockdown I was bored and got into lockpicking… I’m actually fairly good at opening combination locks like these! I spent maybe 6 hours on this lock and only managed to open it 3 times (after blindly resetting the code), so it’s actually pretty difficult to get into – which is obviously a good thing!
The lock itself is fairly lightweight but seems very strong and it’s also waterproof which is perfect for outside use. I’ve been using it indoors on a locker however, and it’s working absolutely fine!
Overall, I think this is a great lock for the price and I’d highly recommend it!
I really like the selection of colours, the movement of the dials is very smooth, and it’s nice and easy to set a new code.
I wouldn’t use it for any real high ticket items, but for a back gate or shed this is great.
This padlock is rather smaller than I’d imagined, but it feels fairly robust and I certainly hope it lives up to the claim of being waterproof as I’m using it on my backyard door!
Setting the combination is easy and the the lock appears to be well made.
I have quite few lockers around my property and all are very easy to set up (instruction is provided). Padlock is very good quality, not very heavy though but still does good job. I use it for my shed.
Each time I put my chosen number on I can open the locker without any issue, it doesnt stuck or anything like that. I’m happy with it.
I have been using this padlock for gym, and it has been useful ever since. A very compact product which I rely on almost every day now. It feels heavy but that’s due to the great material.
A useful combination padlock. Good size, strong and weatherproof. Ideal for sheds, gates, lockers, cash boxes, etc. The four number combination is easy to set, the charaters are clear to see and the wheels move smoothly. The locks come in a variety of colours too, so you can use several and always know which lock is for which function. Only slight niggle is that compared with similar locks I’ve purchased they are a bit more expensive
I was impressed with the wuality of this padlock, super high quality and heavy-duty. The silver design is nice and it is easy to move the numbers on the lock around. Following the instructions, it takes less than a minute to reset the password for it, and it is super easy.
I like the stainless steel on it and it does its job really well. I highly recommend it.
I like padlocks that don’t require a key, though the normal three dial ones you get for travel luggage are just rubbish and very cheap. However, this is a robust, well made lock and will take a lot of pounding. I like the fact there’s a colour choice as well — blue for me please! Having four digital dials increases the security issue and having a lock that can’t just be wrenched off a bag is even better. The only issue I have is that the D ring doesn’t fit some of my bags. The padlock D is supposed to go through the two ends of the zip but in some cases the hole in the zip end is too small. Be aware!
We use this lock for a small shed in which we have various pieces of hose pipe, netting, and so. The contents of the shed are worth virtually nothing, but replacing it all would be a hassle. Hence, we don’t need high security for it, but simply a deterrent for nuisance prowlers.
This lock fulfils that purpose perfectly. It is easy to program to our own custom code, and applying / removing the lock is an absolute cinch. we put a dab of acrylic paint onto the point with which the numbers need to align, since the point is easy to miss when you’re undoing the light in half-light, but other than that, the lock is really good to use and has thus far shown itself to be reliable.
If you’ve a need for a lock to secure something out in the garden (ladders, potting sheds, etc.) then tbhis lock is perfect for the purpose.
Arrived in the small package as shown in the photos.
Built quality is great.
Came with the default code of 0000 but new code is easy to configure.
It comes with a small piece of paper with instructions on how to configure new unlock code.
Open up to 180 degrees, push down and set a new code. Very easy to set new unlock code.
One thing I am concerned is that the hole is not that deep and goes just a little down when you lock it. So, it might be less secure for thieves. However, the built quality is great so the lock maybe strong and secure. I did not try breaking it with a screw driver.
Rest, it is of great quality and I expect it to be durable and last longer.
Great little locker padlock, easy to change the code.
Nice colour to help you find your locker, ideal for swimming pool or work gear locker.
Only so good for a locker etc.
Not strong enough for a cycle etc.
A decent weight of padlock for securing (in my case) a shed door. It is a four digit combination lock which you set yourself with a memorable code. The enclosed instructions are very clear and simple.
It is said to be waterproof but I have not had chance to test that as there has been no rain for a few days. Although it is badged as “heavy duty” I think that is a bit optimistic. Nevertheless it will provide a good degree of protection and security.
And it is reasonably priced too.
Appears to be a good quality lock. Keen to get a keyless and waterproof lock for outdoor use. Time will tell.
This is a good solid padlock which is very easy to programme with a 4 number combination of your choice. I use it fir my gym locker and it is secure and very easy to pop in my gym bag. Good quality and a fair price as it should last a long time.
Our garden shed (with lots of tools) was secured by a key padlock, which we used to neglect to lock because of the hassle of back and forth with a key. Now replaced with this combi-lock and life is a little bit easier, no key to lose, and we do lock up more often.
Nice clean lines, feels sturdy. Easy to set a personal code.
Great padlock, well made and sturdy and it’s easy to set a code and use. It’s waterproof, being made of aluminium, very useful for sheds, tool chests, which is where I used mine. But at a tenner? I probably won’t get another.
