Other retailer were putting it on clearance so we decided to grab it on Amazon since there were other clearance items Amazon still have stocks while the other retailer had sold out. Great set for the Clerance 50% off original MSRP price, not the mark up price it’s at recently. Basically with comparing to the recent mark up prices it felt like we have saved more but in reality it’s mark up so basically it’s only about 50% off which is still great if you are a Master of the universe fan plus if you have the patients to build the set. Given it is a huge set after all. For the set itself there are a few online review videos for those who are still on the fence about getting the set. IMHO, at 50% off, it’s a great set to pick up.

Si eres seguidor de los Masters de Universo es una compra obligada y si te gustan los juegos de construccin tambin. La recreacin del Castillo de Grayskull es una maravilla, con todo lujo de detalles con sus ms de 3500 piezas y todo un reto que proporciona horas de diversin y una gran satisfaccin una vez concluido. El proceso de montaje no es sencillo pero las instrucciones son muy claras en un tomo de 180 pginas a todo color. No se trata en mi opinin de un juguete para nios, es un producto para coleccionistas. Destacar que la caja viene lujosamente ilustrada y las piezas repartidas en cuatro cajas tambin decoradas con ilustraciones. No hay pegatinas como en otras marcas, las fichas con dibujo son impresas y contiene seis minifiguras. Como contra comentar que algunas piezas pequeas se caen con facilidad si no se va con mucho cuidado. Recomiendo comprarlo cuando est de oferta, en mi caso lo compre por 140, cuando su precio normal es de 370 En definitica un producto “must have” de gran calidad.
Ce set de la gamme MEGA CONSTRUX, dtenu par Mattel, n’est pas un LEGO mais y ressemble fortement et ses pices sont compatibles avec la clbre marque danoise.
Le sujet reprsent est le chteau Grayskull, un lieu emblmatique de la saga “Masters of the universe”, proprit intellectuelle galement dtenue par Mattel (comme c’est pratique !) Pour tre plus prcis, ce set reprend l’aspect et les fonctionnalits d’un autre jouet sorti dans les annes 80 : ouverture du chteau, l’chelle, le rtelier d’armes, l’ascenseur, etc. Histoire de jouer fond sur la fibre nostalgique…

Alors mes impressions sur ce set : tant jeux de construction et de MOTU (Master Of The Universe), je n’ai t que trop heureux de dcouvrir ce set, mme si ce ne sont pas des LEGO. Il semblerait que ce soit le fleuron de la gamme : le set le plus gros et le plus abouti, la fois esthtiquement et au niveau de la conception, de MEGA CONSTRUX. Aprs l’avoir mont et vu de mes propres yeux (les photos peuvent parfois tre trompeurs) je peux vous dire qu’il tient toutes ses promesses. Il a mme dpass mes attentes ! De l’ouverture de la boite la dernire pice, cela a t une exprience fantastique et mmorable. Je ne regrette pas du tout mon achat.
Pour parler de choses concrtes, la boite contient 3508 pices. Le packaging est vraiment recherch et meilleur que LEGO. Les sacs sont numrots, mme s’il y a quelques sacs en commun. Le livret de montage est bien fait, mme si moins bon que LEGO ce point de vue. Pour quelqu’un qui est habitu aux instructions de LEGO, a peut tre droutant mais rien d’insurmontable.
Concernant la construction en elle-mme, elle vous prendra une bonne douzaine d’heures. Le chateau est divis en 5 sections qu’on rassemble une fois finies. La couleur dominante est le vert sable, avec des touches de gris pour les roches, certaines briques en vert/ocre pour casser la monotonie et le plancher en bois marron. Il y a pas mal de bonnes techniques de montage et c’est un vrai plaisir pour les passionns. Certaines parties sont bien sr rptitives notamment les murs, mais bon, on ne peut pas tout avoir. L’ensemble est bien fidle aux photos. C’est globalement trs beau. Les 6 minifigs sont assez dtailles, reprennnent les persos les plus connus de la franchise et coupls aux fonctionnalits du chateau (trappe, porte drobe, etc.) promettent une bonne jouabilit.
Cependant, tout n’est pas rose.
1. Il y a des petites bizarreries au montage que j’ai d modifier pour une meilleure stabilit.
2. Les points d’injection de certaines pices sont vraiment trop visibles. En gros c’est un petit point blanc au milieu de la pice. Ce n’est pas super esthtique. Parfois on peut tourner la pice de telle faon que ce point ne soit pas visible, mais parfois on ne peut pas. Donc pas cool.
3. Le ct gauche (celui des charnires) est moche. Il y a une grosse rupture au niveau du sol et quand le chateau est ferm, c’est vraiment pas joli. Par contre oui quand il est ouvert a ne se voit pas.
4. Les jonctions ne sont pas esthtiques. Il manque des bouts du toit.
5. La qualit du plastique est lgrement infrieure LEGO. Ca brille moins.
Voil pour les dfauts mais qui ne m’ont pas fait regretter une seconde mon achat. Pour info je l’ai eu 135, un prix plus que raisonnable pour la quantit de pices et le packaging magnifique. Par contre au del de 150 je ne suis pas sr que c’est une bonne affaire. Le set est officiellement 300 sur le site de Mega Construx, une blaque !
Estoy encantada con la compra. Es muy entretenido de montar y aunque contiene muchas piezas no resulta complicado ni tedioso, ya que dentro de la caja principal (super currada x dentro y x fuera con imagenes) vienen cuatro cajas muy chulas tb, con sus piezas y no abruma

J’ai jou avec cette gamme entre 86 et 89 et j’en garde de superbes souvenirs. Et l une pure russite un mixte parfait LEGO / HE MAN. Pour 175 euros franchement c’est juste OUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

Le titre est clair : c’est une russite absolue du dbut jusque la fin et je pse mes mots. Il n’y a aucun reproche faire, trs largement au niveau de la marque rfrence LEGO et sans exagrer (pices compatibles).
Point important le colis arrive bien protg, vu la taille de la bote je craignais un envoi “brut” avec de vilaines tiquettes sur les images. J’ai tent…et j’ai bien fait.
A l’ouverture, la bote elle-mme en met plein les yeux, elle a fait l’objet d’un soin tout particulier qui ravira les nostalgiques de la licence, elle est juste splendide mme l’intrieur. A conserver en totalit (y compris les sachets ouverts) et stocker bien au sec pour garder au set son tat collection (ah si on avait su a tant gamins…).
A l’intrieur, 4 botes dcores contiennent les pices dans des sachets numrots, et une grande notice illustre de 180 pages.
Commence alors le montage. Je ne connaissais pas la marque, en tant qu’habitu LEGO on a souvent tendance avoir des priori sur la concurrence, et bien ce Grayskull Castle est magistralement conu.
J’ai aim avoir des pices qui n’existent pas chez LEGO, cela apporte de la nouveaut.
Les explications sont simples, tout s’enchaine parfaitement. Aucun autocollant, tout est imprim avec qualit. L’ensemble est robuste et la finition est parfaite.
Les personnages sont bien reproduits, et les articulations permettent de leur donner des positions assez ralistes, ce qui est une prouesse tant donn leur petite taille.
Pas d’erreur de plan, aucune pice manquante (c’est toujours une crainte sur de gros sets), je viens de le terminer, ce set va vous propulser dans vos souvenirs.
Conclusion, l’ensemble affiche un rendu exceptionnel. Cerise sur le gteau, il n’est pas encombrant, il prendra facilement place sur une tagre ou dans un meuble

This Castle Grayskull set is a large scale building set in the Mega Construx line. This set is over 3500 pieces and builds out the castle and 6 figures and is an epic set, on a par with a Lego master builder set.
I’ve had my eye on this for some time but in the end could not resist the very deep price cut it has had. Such a fantastic opportunity to get this building project at less than 100 pounds.
From the very start the quality of the presentation jumps out at you. The packaging is wonderful, really well thought out and impressive. The main box opens out to then find four different boxes, with different characters on their covers, with multiple bags within each.
I think my one negative is on the build process. I’ve not found is as fun as an equivalent Lego build. Flows less and definitely has more areas i found it can be a real pain and doesn’t all bond that well if you need to rebuild any parts, they seem to become loose much more quickly. Lego have a knack for mixing up build techniques that Mattel could learn from. Definitely one to build with kids if you are giving it to them as could easily cause frustration. The end result is fantastic though and looks great.
It is also comes with a huge and detailed building manual. Overall excellent value and an excellent building toy to create an iconic 80’s toy in building bricks.
Als ich dieses Set gesehen habe, bin ich erstmal vom Glauben abgefallen.
Ich wollte Castle Grayskull schon so oft kaufen, aber irgendwie war es nie so, das ich mich direkt verliebt habe. Entweder war es aus einem Plastik-Teil lieblos dahingeklatscht oder es war einfach nicht Castle Grayskull.
Aber dieses Monster-Teil von Mega Construx ( 3508 Teile!!) hat es mir direkt angetan. Nur der Preis hat mich noch nicht so angesprochen. Knapp 200 war mir dann doch ein bischen zu Teuer. Klar, bei einschlgigen Kleinanzeigen Seiten konnte man es schon fr 150-180 bekommen, aber da war es schon zusammengebaut oder halt nicht neu..und das ist halt einfach nicht das gleiche.
Also beschloss ich, zu warten. Und tatschlich, am Black Friday hatte ich dann schlussendlich Glck und konnte mir den Traum vom eigendem Castle Grayskull endlich erfllen, und das fr knapp 150 .
Gestern ist es dann, nach schnellem Versand wohlgemerkt, bei mir angekommen. Es wurde zum Glck in einem Umkarton versendet, der auch noch mal in einem Umkarton versendet wurde. Auf Grund einer Bewertung hier hatte ich richtig Panik, das der Mega Construx Karton als Versandkarton benutzt wird. Dieses war zum Glck nicht der Fall.
Was soll ich sagen:
Das Packet ist ziemlich schwer, man erahnt schon beim Tragen das da was groes drinn ist.
Alleine das Auspacken war Gnsehaut pur.Beim Designen des Kartons wurde mal so richtig groartige Arbeit geleistet. Die Bilder, die Aufmachung, einfach der Hammer. Als erstes klapp man den Deckel auf und Erblickt in der Innenseite direkt meine Kindheitshelden in Gro. Dann fllt der Blick auf die RIESIGE Aufbauanleitung, eher gesagt ein Buch, das mit 175 Seiten daherkommt. Der absolute Wahnsinn!
Dann die 4 Kartons im Karton, jeder mit 2 verschiedenen Bildern der Protagonisten. Man merkt sofort, das sich hier jemand richtig Mhe gegeben hat.
Ich habe , glaube ich, noch nie in meinem Leben soo vorsichtig einen Karton geffnet und begutachtet wie diesen hier 😉
Ich habe noch nicht angefangen zu Bauen, das hebe ich mir fr das kommende Wochenende auf.
Sonst bin ich immer derjenige, der meinen Kids beim Aufbauen hilft. Diesesmal ist es das erste Mal andersherum 😀

A fantastic set. More than 3500 pieces, 6 mini articulated mini figures. The Castle is very detailed and recall the glory of the original one from the 80’s even with some more details.
Uma pea de encher os olhos. Muito bem feita, com peas de qualidade e muito detalhada. incrvel como as figuras de apenas 5 cm. so as vezes melhores que outras maiores.
O nico seno que o meu veio faltando uma pea. Isso mesmo, uma, mas a Mattel no tem suporte no BR e fica difcil de conseguir, mas acredito ter sido uma coisa isolada e estou buscando a pea com outros colecionadores.

Hundreds of pieces, wonderful design, and unique shapes make this a real treat. Everything needed to bring the mighty Castle Greyskull to life. Set veramente stupendo, la scatola curatissima e spettacolare, le istruzioni dettagliate e chiarissime. I pezzi si incastrano bene e una volta finito le dimensioni generose fanno bella mostra di se. Preso ad un prezzo bassissimo come usato ma alla fine solo i sigilli erano scollati ritrovandomi con un set praticamente nuovo. Consigliatissimo
(aktuell ~200->) Umgerechnet 5 Cent pro Stein, bei der Farbe, Steintyp und Gesamtkomposition/Modell jeden Cent wert. Das Dach ist etwas Gefummel und die kleinteiligen Figuren sind besonders bei den weiblichen Varianten etwas klobig, jedoch wenn das Teil Gestallt annimmt, dann versetzt es einen so herrlich schn in die Kindheit zurck. Und Burgen gehen immer. Ob Displaymodell oder tatshclich eine neue Generation zum Spielen mit den Masters zu begeistern? Ich finde es kann beides.
Wer gerne mit Klemmbausteinen baut sollte sich dieses Set nicht entgehen lassen. es ist definitiv eines der besten Sets die ich bisher habe.
Das fngt schon bei einer hochwertigen Verpackung an die ich zum ersten mal sicher nicht wegschmeien werde. Die Bauanleitung ist ebenfalls sehr schn gestaltet. Die Qualitt der Steine ist aus meiner Sicht schon auf Niveau der Steine von Lego, mindestens, auerdem eine sehr hohe Klemmkraft.
Die Minifiguren sind fr ihre Gre ein Wahnsinn, ich wrde sogar behaupten das sie besser aussehen als jene aus den 80ern, obwohl sie grer waren.
Die Burg Grayskull ist aus Klemmbausteinen ohnehin viel schner als die alte aus den 80ern.
Die Burg ist schwer zu bauen also nichts fr kleinere Kinder was den bau betrifft aber durch die vielen Spielefeatures und der hohen Stabilitt macht es Kindern sicher viel Spa damit zu spielen.
Ich hoffe sehr Mega Construx verffentlich auch Snake Mountain. : )

Hab Sie mir aufgrund eines Youtube-Videos gekauft. Der einzig nennenswerte Kritikpunkt ist das Zusammenbauen der Figuren. Zuerst tut einem der Kraftaufwand weh und dann die Hand. Das Battlecat fehlt, finde ich nicht weiter schlimm. Fans knnten das anders sehen!
Mega Qualitt, mega Klemmkraft, mega Figuren, mega Bauspa….. einfach Mega Construx. Hammer Preis fr schne Kindheitserinnerungen.
Juguete de coleccin. Desde las ilustraciones en ambas caras de la caja principal y los elementos retro que adornan las 4 cajas que contienen los bloques de construccin, hasta el armado del castillo con los mismos elementos al original y sus figuras de accin hacen de este set un regreso a los 80s.
Por parte de MEGA CONSTRUX, algo que no es nuevo, faltaron una o dos piezas, que al ser un set grande del mismo color en su mayora no comprometen su armado final, se pueden reemplazar con la piezas sobrantes, pero esto no quita que ya es una constante con mega construx, la falta de piezas o fallas en el moldeo de las figuras.
Y la otra falla, por parte de AMAZON, es que este es sin dudas un juguete de coleccin cuya caja es parte del componente de coleccionable, y en Amazon decidieron ponerle una enorme etiqueta de papel adhesivo em la parte superior de la caja, y que le resta un poco el atractivo a una caja que en s misma es toda una obra de arte.
Fuera de todo eso, es un set excelente por parte de Mega construx y con un buen trato de parte de Amazon.
It is He-Man and the castle is very detailed. It is a great set and only due to the lockdown, did I get time to build it. As teachers during lockdown need to educate children, this is a great piece for children to be educated. It took awhile and it is big.
The detailing is great and the figures are good. It isn’t cheap but when compared to Lego it is reasonable considering it is very detailed. It looks nice but I would say it is for He-Man fans and most youngsters today don’t have a clue who He-Man is.
Great set for any child and when built seems very robust.
A superb build , bursting with detail and quality. This truly is a work of art! I am a MOTU collector so do have a preference for this but this brought back those memories of being a child and opening my original Castle greyskull. The instructions are clear and all the releveant bricks are clearly put into labelled bags and boxes . The box art is superb throughout this item and is truly original just like the original MOTU toy line. Well done Mega Construx a truly beautiful toy.
What with lockdown and the approaching holidays I have been constantly looking out for things to do with the kids and this turned out to be fantastic. Good thing the kids are keen Lego fans as this takes a great deal of time and patience but for adults and kids alike its good fun.
For me it was good to see the old characters from my childhood (Even though it got a few blank expressions from the kids) Working together a little bit each day it was a good bit of family fun to build this. Once constructed its pretty sold but even building it there is plenty to follow from the large instruction sheet that comes with it.
Got a good few days of time used up building this so have to recommend it.
Great product. Was a little dubious as it’s not Lego but the quality is really good. It’s an enjoyable build and for the price it’s a steal compared to similar size Lego sets.
The set comes in an amazingly well thought out box, with lovely art work on the front and 4 smaller boxes inside, each with nice nostalgic images of the characters from the 80s. The mammoth sized manual is also inside.
The manual is quite easy to follow, however you do have to pay attention at times, particularly if you’re building this in the evening under artificial light. The steps are well illustrated for the most part and well laid out. Building the towers and turrets was fun and a little challenging at times, especially with the smaller pieces. If you don’t like some things on how Mega Construx instructs you to build it, you can add your own minor alterations. I’m not a fan of the 5 teeth in the middle of the skull so just had four with a small square Construx piece in the middle, which I think looks better. The set took me about 5-6 days to build and was interesting, there are a lot of extra pieces which can come in handy should you lose any pieces or wish to add a few extra bricks and pieces surrounding the castle.
The set itself, once built, is a site to be behold, it really is stunning. The figures included – He-Man, The Goddess, Sorceress, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, Beastman are all great and are nicely designed and assembled. These figures are slight variations from previous single releases. I particularly like Skeletor, The Goddess and the red variant of Beastman. The castle displays very well with other MOTU MC figures and also the Battle Bones set (which was an exclusive release). There is also a lot of play value in this set, it honestly is so much fun, and reminds me of my vintage Castle Grayskull from when I was a child.
I recommend this set highly to any Mega Construx or Lego fan and also fans of He-Man/Masters of the Universe.
This has been a fabulous build!! But we bought it when it was 179.99 !! Details and art work in the box and instructions are just amazing! Took us back to our childhood!
A few other words of caution. While yes it looks like that cool playset you had when you were 9, this is very much an Adult/AFOL level set. There is very little color variation throughout the build. It is thousands of very small hard to differentiate parts. Where guessing wrong on a part will have you undoing 2 hours worth of work. This is an Adult tier building set. Even putting the figures together will require an adult. Do not buy this for younger kids. I would say a very advanced 11 or 12 year old, or better yet 13+. With 16+ being ideal. The younger crowd will love playing with it when done, but getting it there is challenging.
The set itself is amazing. A magnificent mix of recreation of a classic toy, mixed with some really clever brick building design. It’s a lot of really great brick sculpture and architecture, all in muted shades of sand green. The set is huge when completed. Roughly the same size as a Lego Modular Building. It’s a Dollhouse design. And it perfectly recreates, and improves on the classic Castle Grayskull playset. Every detail and feature from the original toy is recreated in brick form. And at a scale that allows for more figures in play.
Inside the big gorgeous box, covered with wonderfully rendered art the set is broken down into 4 smaller boxes. Each smaller box contains 10-20 numbered bags. So Mega has finally followed Lego’s lead in that regard. Be warned, it isn’t quite as smooth as Lego’s. With each bag you will find lots of parts left over as you move on to th enext. Those leftovers get used and absorbed later into the build. So you are never quite clearing your active parts tray. It’s a little harder to keep organized than a big Lego build. The instructions are a massive square bound book that is almost 2′ wide. Which makes it awkward to find a surface to sit it on to keep open. Make sure you have really good lighting as well. Some of the part colors are very subtle. You will need good light to tell what is called for in the manual and to tell the pieces apart.
The build is an education in clever build techniques. Mega has a broader assortment of SNOT pieces, which they use in some interesting ways. It’s a fun build. A little tedius at points, but very rewarding as the various sections come together. Particularly intriguing is it uses some tricks and techniques that you would only ever see in Lego fan MOC’s. Not in actual sets. Such as the rounded tower build.
The versions of the figures included in this set are from the original He-Man toys and the comics included in the toys. So Teela is in her original Green Godess form, not the cartoon version. Man At Arms doesn’t have his mustache, etc. Other figures available in the line are cartoon correct. The exclusive figure to this set is the Sorceress.
Overall this is a great set. And will look impressive on display alongside many of your Adult tier Lego sets. Yes it’s Megablocks (or whatever they are called this week?) But it’s among the best that Mega has offered and well worth adding to a collection.
i bought for 160$ on sale, reduced price…and I have gotten several hours of play/entertainment out of it everyday for 2 weeks. I’m taking my time building it, not rushing or pushing myself past the point where I start getting burned out, which is perhaps the one thing that has 2 edges to the sword: Unlike Lego, which builds up tall walls usually with many panels, this Mega Construx set painstakingly builds everywall with individual bricks. Unprecedented detail…. but it can get a little slow monotonous when working on a tall tower wall… but like I said, I give it a rest when i get burned out, and then I have more to play with the next day when I am fresh again. One last great thing is that construx blox figures are usually interchangeable… so when I take the wings from a Halo bugger, and add them to Skeletor along with his goat skull for a head from his staff, I get a magical skeletor goat fairy. Or replace he-man’s left arm with an alien arm, to get Division 9 He-man. Possibilities are endless with bricks. And Mega Construx are cross compatible with Legos….even if their fit may be a few microns less precise, they still hold well together, very strong usually. 4.5 stars altogethe
This Mega Construx GGJ67 Pro Builder Masters of The Universe Castle Grayskull is nothing short of amazing. Even at a price of over 200 it is still fantastic value for money when you consider that it has over 3500 pieces in it. Included in that are six poseable figures with accessories, as well as so many fixtures, fittings and movable parts that make up the integral parts of the castle, such as the trapdoor, secret passageways and amazing fully working elevator. This really is a delight for any fan of Masters Of The Universe and especially for any of those who also like model making. An absolutely amazing set.
This is a toy collectors dream! It’s beautifully packaged – the inside of the box is covered in illustrations, the pieces are in 4 boxes with great outlines of characters on them. It’s a fairly tricky build, I dragged it out over a couple of weeks. Looks absolutely brilliant when finished and isn’t ridiculously big so doesn’t look crazy on a shelf. It is a little on the pricey side but it’s aimed at adults and definitely worth it.

Before seeing this I had the impression that Mega was a cheap knock-off of the popular Danish block’s pre-school range, but this is a superb product in its own right.
I was so impressed I actually did a bit of digging and it looks like Mega Construx is squarely aimed at the popular franchised products from the L-Word and has had a bump in quality just this past five or six years. What they’re doing isn’t even an exact copy – eg in this set you build the castle using an EXTREMELY familiar block system, but the actual action figures are more like traditional toy figures but still jointed and with grasping hands. You need to take a close look at the pictures provided in the item description – these figures are an evolutionary step above anything the competition is doing.
Sadly the one thing they share in common with their more widely known competition is the price. There’s no getting around that, but what you’re getting is as good, if not better than them.
This was an absolute eye-opener for me. Brilliant construction set, which will make your wallet weep.

Me and my brother had the original toy in the 90s and to see my nephew gave a blast saying with this was so lovely.
Impressive to look at , especially through a childs eyes.
It is designed really well and is a good quality product. It may seem pricey but it is sturdy and will last years.
Is packaged and presented really well so would make an impressive gift for a loved one.

Well, I didn’t think I’d see He-Man back, let alone being used to sell toys. Whether a fan of the old cartoon or not, this is one epic construction set, with over 3500 pieces. Although not quite up to the quality of LEGO, the Mega Construx are actually very good copycats and are almost indistinguishable from LEGO.
The set itself is huge and a good challenge to build, taking many hours over several days to complete. The finished castle is a sight to behold and a great toy in and of itself, with a few interactive parts as a bonus.
So, this is a fantastic construction set if you are up for a challenge, like the castle and He-Man theme, and don’t object to the steep price for a toy albeit one that compares favourably with LEGO pricing.
This is a mega project to build for the children although I suspect “building” will yield more satisfaction.
Opening the box is somewhat daunting when you see what lies ahead to build the castle however if approached in an organised and systematic way, it will prove to be straight forward and very satisfying.
We’ve just completed Castle Grayskull, over the last couple of weeks (about 25 hours) and found what a brilliant kit this is. As the assembly progressed and the features started to materialise, there was an almost compelling urge to rush but take your time, enjoy the process and complications can be avoided. Of course you can take as long as you like to build the castle but I guess there will be external forces at work encouraging completion.
Starting off with assembling the figures and some of the intricate pieces for the castle’s armoury were a bit tricky but after that it went quite smoothly especially when you can see it taking shape. Construction is aimed at those aged 14 years and upwards working on their own and I think that’s about right as there are lots of detailed steps involved in putting some parts together that require a little thought and so this needs a methodical and organised approach. You could perhaps consider it for someone a little younger providing they have some adult help.
The blocks themselves are similar to Lego, so people will be familiar with the different types of parts, although there are some quirky bits to look out for too.
Luckily the instruction manual is very well laid out and easy to follow and even comes with a clip for the book and a tool for separating pieces that you may have assembled incorrectly. The pieces can be quite tight to fit together though, so younger children might struggle.
Inside the outer main box, there are four separate smaller boxes, over which the five sections are spread. There are a few bags with general pieces that aren’t numbered, but most bags are numbered which seems to help with the building and the instructions tell you when to open the bags.
There are some terrific detailed features including the lift and trap-door and the level of detail on the figures themselves is spot on. The one thing with which you need to be careful is when building the walls, that you insert the subtly coloured pieces in the right places to give the correct/intended effect of the old stonework. That said, the manual is very good in detailing specifically where each piece goes step by step. Some bags have spare parts in them so can be a little confusing if opened when you appear to have pieces left over but follow the instructions and they will get you there.
This is not, repeat not an project where the traditional British approach of “When all else fails…read the instructions” should be followed. Read the instructions first and as you progress, read them again and you will find it pays dividends.
It’s thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying to build and I think the children although young will have lots of fun with it. When (and if) interest wanes, we can dismantle it and put it away for a while knowing that building for a second time will be so much quicker and still give a great buzz.
It will be a great project for all ages (14 plus) and especially for those who remember Masters of The Universe / He-Man etc., from their younger days! Not a cheap purchase but for what you get it’s a good one.
It’s expensive for sure. But i see this Castle Grayskull toy as a great opportunity to bond father and son. It takes a great length of time to build but it’s a great project and its super fun.
It definitely deserves the title as PRO with the difficulty rating.
Build wise there is so much detail which gives you a good feeling that it will last for a long time as it is so well made and that sentiment is echoed by the build quality of the each and every piece.

Started building this castle with my nephew who has previously only really had lego / technic lego. So this is our first mega construx kit we have had. The start of the construction is going well and you can see that the detail of this kit is excellent. Finding the piece is helped by the bags being numbered which makes the process more enjoyable as you can get down to the building part quicker which is what everyone enjoys. Having over 3500 pieces this is going to keep us busy for a fair few hours which isn’t a bad thing especially in the colder months. This would make an ideal christmas present and would keep the younger ones quiet for a few hours if you can get them away from consoles / video games!
Although Mega Construx is not quite the quality of Lego, this set is amazing and inspired.
The kit is enormous. It is supplied in the main box within which are the very detailed instructions and four separate boxes to work on. We are giving this to our whole family, three daughters, their husbands and three grandsons as a project for us all to work on for Christmas. I have tried out a small part of it, but there is no way I could complete it in short order. We are all looking forward to a great project as we are a family of puzzle and lego enthusiasts. In the buildup, we shall be getting the younger boys into the whole HeMan thing which our children grew up with.
The kit includes 6 figures including HeMan and Skeletor, a complete castle to build and really fun features such as a moving elevator and a trap door in the throne room.
Mega Construx is MEGA! This is a well put together construction set. It is organised into separate boxes for different builds. The whole box is very well presented giving you a real experience when you open it, even once opened the graphics inside are amazing! Even the smaller boxes have pictures on. I have never had this type of construction set before but i am looking forward to completing it (i shall upload pictures when finally completed, might take a while but i will get there).
The set is good quality and the parts seem to slot together nicely. The figures are cool with good detail and to get 6 figures in this set means the big kids can play until their hearts are content. This is for 14+ years and make sure you find somewhere to keep it while you build. It will likely take some time to complete and you don’t want the dog the knock it off or to drop it when transporting elsewhere. Some blocks are colour coded to help the build as there are so many pieces, this is a fab idea.
This is really a great idea for those with childhood memories of He-Man, like myself and my husband. It would be a great present for someone who likes construction sets. I highly recommend this product and who knows, after this maybe the Wind Raider set will be next to build!
Although the age recommendation is for age 14+ I got this for my niece and nephew aged 9&10. They both love construction toys and the only time they get on is when they are making something together! They have only just started it and I imagine it will keep them quiet for a long time yet!
The instructions appear to be easy enough to follow and the detailing is already on the bricks.
Although the price seems to be a little steep, the size and scale of the castle, plus the hours needed to build it, make it good value for money.
I would think this is suitable for competent model builders of all ages!
This is a huge box, with over 3500 pieces. The box is very striking with lots of views of the exterior and interior of Castle Grayskull and of the finished article.
The pieces are split into 4 bags (all numbered) and the instructions are really precise and easy to follow. This makes construction much easier than you would think. Saying that, the set takes around a day (24 hours) to complete. I sat with my eleven year old (who, whilst not within the recommended age range managed to follow the instructions and enjoyed the experience immensely) over a week or so and we really looked forward each night to spending time constructing this awesome castle.
Compared to the more well known plastic brick company, this isn’t too far behind. The bricks are of really good quality, they go together with ease and firmly stay in place and the instructions are really easy to follow.
The Mega Construx GGJ67, is definitely not for the amature construction fan. If a really good challenge is your thing and you’ve long since graduated from smaller kits and have the patience for something of this callabre it will undoubtedly prove worth the investment.
Expensive outlay but this will provide days of fun to build and endless enjoyment for playing with and admiring
A review for Mega Construx GGJ67 Pro Builder Masters of The Universe Castle Grayskull, Multicoloured.
A mega construction which is throwback to the eighties fantasy cartoon world of Masters Of The Universe, which I admit to having been a huge fan of.In all there are over 3500 lego style building pieces allowing you to “By The Power of Grayskull..” you will have the power…to build a featured Castle Gray Skull facade of main entrance and one side of the castle rather than the full four walled castle, this makes for a better play experience allowing you to stage and pose characters in all manner of ways. The design of the castle has been updated making it brighter and more appealing compared to the dark and foreboding original castle look.
Six highly detailed pose-able action figures include He-Man, Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, Beast Man, the Goddess and an exclusive Sorceress. This appears to be made under licence from Mattel the original owner of rights. Overall a lot of toy this really is beautifully made and presented, would make a great gift.
As a child, I have many happy memories of playing with a friend’s He-Man toys. Unfortunately, I never got to receive any as presents, despite asking. My almost-14 year old son gave up on building with Lego (& other brands) some time ago, however recently enjoyed building a more age-appropriate set with me and has now also asked for some car building sets. He’s now seen this set and seems genuinely interested in us building it together. Having had a few sets from Mega Construx recently, this meets the much-improved quality that this brand has grown into. It might not be Lego, but it is the next best thing.
I am really looking forward to the quality father-son time that this set will bring us. The set itself comes in a strong outer box in very traditional looking packaging. It is good that the bricks and other parts are in separate bags to aid with simplifying construction; particularly considering that there are 3508 pieces! Those pieces are of excellent plastic quality (none of that cheap quality that non-Lego sets used to be).
Whilst my son hasn’t really seen He-Man, other than in the recent insurance adverts, this doesn’t matter as it’s the building process and time doing something together that is most-important.
I can highly recommend this set.
Got this for my Dad for Christmas, who’s usually sooo difficult to buy for, but he loves anything he can build/spend time putting together etc. I’ve bought him sets before, but this is on another level! Firstly, the box it comes in is huge, and the graphics on it are amazing. Inside, the pieces are separated into 4 boxes and include an instruction manual with full colour pictures, it’s really impressive. The instructions seem pretty easy to understand, and there are coloured dots to help you align pieces that might be slightly difficult, but considering it’s aimed at people over 14 and ‘probuilder’ this is to be expected. The amount of detail on the pieces and figures etc is amazing, with no need to apply a tedious amount of stickers to bits, it’s already done – yay! – so you can just get on with building. I can see this taking quite a while to complete, depending how much time you give it and how many people are doing it, so even though it is expensive I think for the amount of time you will get putting it together and then playing/admiring it afterwards etc it’s great, I’m so happy and impressed with it!
Just completed Castle Grayskull, after 20+ hours. Fortunately Mega Construx now has numbered bags (plus 3 additional bags), making construction a lot easier. I would recommend this product for both Masters of the Universe and construction fans. Mega Construx has really excelled with their Masters of the Universe line. Looking forward to future releases.
