However we also have a 3 year old who likes to destroy things with his dinosaurs.
As such, we found its weaknesses…
Good quality overall though, was fun to play with.
It came in good time and my Grandson just loved it and has play with it a lot durability seems very good also battery life.
Excelente producto pero deberia incluir el control para conectarse a la corriente electrica no el uso de baterias
La pista esta padrisima y es de calidad, lamentablemente la regrese por la cuestion de que es complicado encontrar la extencion para conectarla a la energa.
All seems good so far and after Xmas I will update.
Brought for a birthday gift. Hubby loves the set. Lots of fu
easy to use would like it if they offered extra track but a good buy
This is a very nice Scalextric Set – big package and very nicely boxed and packed
Nice James Bond cars – decent sized and nicely formed
Well made track – as to be expected.
Setting up was easy and straight forward – recommended for adults to do (of course)
And it’s fun – but depends on the kid, mine was more interested in the Nintendo – but luckily I have nephews!
Overall a good starter set – it’s pricey so if you’re not sure your kid would like it then consider carefully!
I had not expected too much but was impressed by the speed the tiny cars managed & the fun our Grandchildren had with the set. They were soon thinking of further expanding the layout.
Quick delivery. Safe and secure packaging. The item was as advertised. My nephew loves it. Happy all round.
Present for Christmas to my son. He is not into cars, but loved it. We spent a lot of fun time playing with it together and he forgot about computer games and screens for a while. It does not take too much space as well. Really good!
Bought for an adult at Xmas time gave us all a laugh and full of surprises
My little boy had this for Christmas this year and he loves it, takes me back to when I was a little boy.
The cars stay on the track well even at full speed and the loop the loop is great and so much fun to race.
Definately recommend for a bit of fu
This is fun, more robust than the original Scalextric’s and a real winner re the loops (they totally fascinate all who see the cars going round the loops) I suggest doing as I did and get the transformer from the beginning – I can imagine the frustration with batteries.
One of the better things from 2020!
This is the toy that may appear under the tree of many a child and may lead to dissapointment as there are no batteries included, I find that shockingly tight-fisted, this is not a cheap toy, and not including batteries means an extra cost that may catch people out, it’s out-dated and frankly bad marketing!
Other than my main gripe about the batteries, this is an excellent analogue racing kit and the James Bond link may add to the excitement and enjoyment, it looks really neat once set up.
I’m looking forward to being the favourte Uncle once my nephew is allowed round post Covid!
Great toy! Not just my children love it but adults get quite hooked up on it as well. You can build several tracks. Very simple to use for children. One downside was that one of the cars did not have a good connection with the track, however there were few spare connectors in the box that we could use to replace 🙂
Bought this as Christmas present for my boys. Built it to check whether all is in working order as I did not want any bad surprises during Christmas after reading some of the reviews. I bought the mains power unit so did not test it with battery power unit. Bought extra straights and corners. All working well, easy to set up, fast cars, and considering the price, quite good quality. Arrived on time.
Amazing gift. My son is a huge james bond fan and this was right up his street. He was really really happy! Great buy! Well worth the money.
Bit pricey
Had to purchase the mains powered straight track (instead of x 6 batteries) as the power noticeably dropped off after only half hour of use – would estimate battery life a day or so total, with a few hours use daily (quality batteries used FYI)
Also I purchased a track extension pack to make it more interesting.
This was a big hit with my teenage sons and grandkids both.
its been a while since I played cars with my big boys and we had great fun playing around with this set.
This is a basic type set-up so no tricks other than the loop but we still had fun.
Its much more compact than a regular size Scalextric which did help with overall space.
This was easy to put together and came with cohesive instructions.
Its James Bond themed so cars are modelled on that and it arrived in quite a large box.
You will also need 6 AAA batteries which are not provided.
so yeh hit with the big and small this one and I would certainly recommend.
Size wise, for us it fits perfectly on a coffee table which is a big reason to go with the micro size. The fact it is battery powered (6 x AA) hasn’t been the issue I thought it might be and we’ve had many days of play with it without needing to change them (yet!) we have quite a few rechargeable AAs in the house so I think this will be the way to go long-term.
My son is already keen to buy one of the track extension packs (which are reasonably priced) so I can see this having long term appeal.
Following the instructions assembly was easy, but it should be done with supervision as the tracks clip together and it can sometimes be a little tricky to assemble. This particular set has 4 metres of track and has 9 suggested layouts to build, but you can create your own as well. The track has a special loop system and two bridges to add verticality in your layouts and designs, which is seriously impressive to see the cars performing stunts and going over bridges.
The nice thing is that this toy is modular and expandable, it is compatible with the Micro Scalextric range that has the 1:64 scale track, so you can add to it to create larger tracks. The two remote controls have an adjustable speed slider setting that allows you to restrict how fast the car can go.
The cars are also magnetic to the track, which helps to keep them from flying off and decoupling, but they still can fall off the track sometimes. Thankfully, the cars are quite durable so you don’t need to worry if they go around a corner too quickly and crash into each other or your furniture.
Overall, this is a great starter kit and will bring many hours of fun. We had a lot of fun assembling and racing, and I’d highly recommend this as a gift idea. Thank you for reading my review, if you found it helpful feel free to let me know below.
This is an ideal set if you don’t have room for the standard sized Scalextric, it takes up less room as it’s more compact and the cars are easier to control as well.
The set is based on a James Bond theme and features 2 of the classic cars that 007 drives, an Aston Martin DB5 & Jaguar XF. There’s over 4 metres of track which can be set up in different ways including a loop the loop.
Downside is that it needs 6 AA batteries so I’d advise using rechargeables otherwise it will get very expensive if your kids play with it a lot.
The hand controllers have a speed setting option which will make it easier for younger children to use as they get very frustrated when the cars keep jumping off the tracks.
A great set for Bond fans or as a starter set for younger kids and is compatible with the rest of the micro Scalextric range.
Price is ok but I’d like to see the 007 theme throughout the set, other than just the cars, anyone who looked at it after setup wouldn’t know it was anything to do with James Bond.
Hope you found my review helpful
This is an ideal set for new users of Scalextrics. It is easy to set up, and easy to use. The cars are based on James Bond and look really cool. My grandson has loved playing with it. It can be made in a figure of eight or even a loop the loop, the circuit is easy to change, a bit of practice is needed though to get the car to go round the loop without falling off. The set does need 6 x AA battieries which I think at 50 they should be included.
Easy to follow instructions for adults to set up. Uses 6 x AA batteries that aren’t included. Once set up I couldn’t resist having a race with her. We had great fun and certainly didn’t stop at one.
We’ve had it set up in our conservatory where the kids and grandkids have loved playing with it. This is definitely worth the money.
We were going to wait until my nephew visited to open and play with this product, but in the end my brother and I could not wait and so we opened the box ourselves!
The packaging is very smart, and would make a substantial and exciting present to open (please see photos), and clearly shows its link to the latest James Bond film, No Time To Die. With the 007-theme in mind, it comes with two cars: the Aston Martin DB5 and the Jaguar FX. It also comes with a fair amount of track (just over 400cm) and two straightforward controllers.
The track took no time to set up, and you have a choice of configurations (up to 9), and can include a stunt ramp and loop too. As other reviewers have pointed out, you do need to have 6 AA batteries handy as these are not supplied. It is also worth noting that if you already have track etc. of the same scale (1:64) then it should be compatible; we could not try this out aspect as we don’t have any.
We had great fun playing with this item and would be happy to recommend to anyone who is a Scalextric and/or James Bond fan (young or old) as this brought back many good childhood memories.
If you buy this do not forget to buy the batteries at the same time. It needs batteries which are not included. Surely the batteries could be provided so that it is playable straight away? I would also suggest rechargeable batteries. This comes stylishly and classily boxed and looks great. It is easy and fairly quick to assemble. It takes up a fair bit of space! It looks great. The cars are classic Bond. It is easy to use and play . It is fun. It encourages play with others and non electronic play. A screen time break is always good in my opinion. It is old style play fun. For ages from about 4 or 5 upwards. A classy well made set.
Hours of fun guarantee . My two kids 8 and 9 played and had fun for hours . The tracks are very sturdy and easy to put together and it’s over 4 metres in total. It has two speed limiting controllers and 2 cars – aston martin and jaguar. My boy enjoyed mostly putting new layouts for race out of tracks and you can have 10 different options- absolutely amazing. My only advise would be – need to get good quality batteries as it’s comes without any and you need x 6 AA.
