We had an older Mira shower that was very noisy but the new 1 is ace quiet efficient and quite robust good product thanks Mira
Bought this as a replacement for same shower we had for a few years. We were happy with last one so went for same again. Plus it fitted exactly so no extra drilling or plumbing involved.
For a long time my husband thought we could never have this type of shower as we have a combination boiler. How wrong he was; a friend told him we could! It’s a powerful shower even at the hottest temperature. The shower head tilts & the hand held shower is a bonus if like us you have a dog. Great to wash & rinse his coat thoroughly & clean the bath afterwards!
The price we paid for this one was near enough 100 cheaper than the one we replaced! Plus next day Prime delivery.
I have 3 showers in my house all mira select models some 17 yrs. old, when the house was built. . I decided to change my en-suite shower which has been heavily used over the yrs. to the realm Diverter. It didn’t connect to the old pipes as easy as I thought it would , had to remove the tile and put mosaics back to cover the gap. A great shower, the hand held small shower head holder is too restrictive and cumbersome. I have ordered a H @ S holder to allow flexibility and will hang shower gell with hooks from that original holder. The Mira Select was so flexible that I needed to change this small shower head to use similarly. Cant fault the quality. I dont know what the two 15mm nuts and olives were for, they are still in the box. Plus I am not sure if there is a filter in the divulge head, the booklet appears to show there is. I would have taken it out if there is one there.
Haven’t used yet not ready to install,a really good quality shower ,didn’t expect any thing else really doesn’t disappoint.
Bought this one to replace our old shower, it look way better, nice quality and it work great, so far so good.
Not cheapest but very good. Great thermistor hot water control. Easy to use and looks great.
So far so good it’s been installed and used for a few weeks now, good pressure, running from a old system boiler downstairs so gravity fed not sure how well it’s work upstairs but a modern boiler brilliant showe
Looks amazing, as good a quality as a similar product that is nearly 3 times the price. Very easy to install.
This certainly gives greater pressure under low pressure than my previous one and I love it. The only criticism I have is that the hand held element cannot be taken off completely and has to be threaded through the hole that holds the shower head. That proves to be awkward when wanting to rinse the shower area.
I must say that this shower has now exceeded expectations: still looks as good as it did when installed – we de-scale the heads every few months and it just soldiers on flawlessly. See below for the reason it had a 2 star review originally.
==============ORIGINAL REVIEW============
Given the cost of plumbers / re-tiling bathrooms, etc we decided to move a little more up-market from the sub-100 Vicky Plumb mixer that only lasted 3 years… our plumber recommended Mira as he said that was the brand that was the most reliable. Over four times more expensive and the Mira Realm (with diverter) has lasted a quarter of the time!
Installation was apparently very easy, it appears well built: good shower flow and reliable, smooth operation…. that’s where the good stuff ends.
The diverter/extension design is very, very poor… I can only assume that IF this was ever tested, the people engaged never use the extension anywhere other than while it is in the clip – even just popping it out to hose around the shower base or rinse your kids’ hair requires feeding most of the hose through the retaining loop and then pulling it back through to put it in place (after you’ve re-inserted the plastic sleeve that pops out every time). If you’re using this shower above a bath and already have an extension on the lower bath taps, then this might be okay as a secondary lower-level shower…. if you’re paying 50 extra because you need a convenient, flexible extension in a shower cubicle, then this doesn’t do the job at all.
The main reason I’m feeling so aggrieved is despite the “5 year warranty”, I’m struggling to get any responses from their support system and the shower started leaking badly 9 months after it was installed… it seemed to improved for a few weeks and is now a constant dribble and we have to use the diverter to run the water into a separate jug (about 40 litres per day!) – which makes the poor design of the diverter even more frustrating and annoying.
edit: another 9 months on and I’m giving a slightly more positive rating… the design of the extension is still ridiculous, but it has been repaired and it seems we just got a dud one, the replacement has been flawlessly reliable since then and still feels as solid and robust as the day it was installed… the main reason for feeling quite so positive about it is that when the customer support team woke up, they were VERY good: a phone call to offer a FREE next day Mira approved specialist to check the install and replace anything that wasn’t working as expected. There was a condition that we would have to pay for the call-out if the problem was due to a bad home install, but it wasn’t, it it was all fixed very quickly and at zero cost to us.
Purchased this shower unit to replace a cheaper unit that had failed to work properly from day 1. What a difference, the Mira shower was very easy to fit and worked amazingly well right from the start. Temperature and flow first class. The old saying buy cheap buy twice applied totally in this case. It is much better to pay a bit extra for the quality of the Mira Showers. One review noted that the method of holding the flexible hand spray in an fully enclosed ring was not very pratical but this was easily overcome by buying, from Amazon, a H&S shower head holder for 7.99. This makes it simple to use the small shower head by hand or fixed in its holder.
super shower so long as you dont mind the small shower head being a bit over constrained with it’s hose being forced to only go through the holder loop. everything else great.
Good quality . A bit pricey , but worth it . Brilliant shower head .
One of the best showers we’ve ever had, love it 🙂
Good quality shower, strange that the center between hot and cold fill is 153 mm and not as expected standard 150mm!! WHY make life difficult for replacement fitting.
Very good- installation ideal as replacing Mira thermostatic valve after 20 years of use. most important my wife always wanted a [ Drencher ]
Regards. Paul Harrison.
Lovely great quality shower at a fantastic price. Very pleased
We already had one of these showers for the main bathroom and got another for the second bathroom when we had it done up this month. Although I love the performance in our main bathroom I was a bit concerned that the low pressure in our bungalow would make even this shower struggle, as it is a long way from the hot water tank to the shower, and only has a low ‘head’ to the cold water tank in the loft, but no problems – good output, classic looks and visitors are all very impressed with the overall look of the room now. We needed something to modernise our old cottage without spoiling the feel and appearance, and the Realm is brilliant for this. The Maxiflo valve is supposed to give 3 x the flow and force of other mixer showers, and I can quite believe it. Highly recommended.
good shower with good flow of water plus easy to install. it also has easy to use controls
