The Morphy Richards Intellisteam Compact with its intelligent timer ensures that all your steamed ingredients are cooked to your desire and ready to serve at the same time. Intellisteam Compact features two individual cooking compartments that can be individually programmed to cook the specific ingredients placed within them. The intelligence of the steamer enables the steaming compartment containing ingredients with the longest cooking time to start first, so the complete meal finishes cooking at the same time.
Intellisteam will remember the last setting you use for each food group and select this automatically when the food group is chosen again. The easy use digital display represents the individual steaming compartments and enables you to easily see the remaining cooking time in each individual compartment. The visible water gauge allows you to monitor water levels during the steaming process and if you need to top up whilst cooking the handy external water top up means you don’t have to disturb your meals cooking progress. As a safety measure there is also a boil dry safety cut out just in case you don’t hear the audible alarm. When cooking has finished the keep warm function keeps food hot for up to 20 minutes until you are ready to serve.

Great appliance, not a big footfall in my kitchen area. Just be aware that you need to clean the machine after every use, and eery use you will then be using about 2L of water. But it’s quicker than doing it in a saucepan using cold water and it retains much more nutrients than the usual boiling water method. The dual chamber is brilliant to steam two dishes at different times.
This steamer is brilliant, allowing you to cook food at different times, highly receommended

eally impressed with item. its not too bulky and works exactly as it should. i love the divider in the centre. the tupperware pot is handy to put chicken or fish in. i highly recommend this item. it is more expensive than some other steamers but worth it.

I am 100% surprised that this machine is fantastic! Its so easy to use, the flavour of food is great and chicken isnt dry. Its easy to clean too.
I work long hours, the idea behind getting this is so my teenage son can put all the ingredients in and when im home dinner is ready… Totally effortless.
I should have got this for free i havent stopped raving about it!

We particularly appreciate the two compartments which provides the opportunity to cook two different foods at the same time using synchronised timing.
However, the lid is not dish washer proof which is strange as the main cooking chamber is.
Furthermore, there is no indication of how to clean the water reservoir compartment which is solid state and we have found when cooking fish that a certain amount of exudate finds its way onto the heater elements which are also solid state. This means cleaning them is very fiddly and time consuming with clothes and tissue for drying. it certainly needs doing as there is potential for fermentation and associated unpleasant smells.
I used it to steam my vegetables ad to boil egg, it was very good, the flavours and nutrients are preserved. I would recommend it 100%
Excellent et trs simple pour l’utilisation, par contre pas trs facile pour le nettoyage de la cuve eau.
It looks great, although it’s a little bigger than I’d imagined. The controls are easy to use. I like the food specific settings that are easily accessible by one button. It steams well, although is a bit noisier than my last one.
Like the split compartments and ability to do 2 separate things and have them ready at the same time. Also like the keep warm function, which does as it says for 10 mins after cooking if your other food is not ready.
I’ve not put the upper parts through the dishwasher yet, so can’t comment, but the plastic seems to be of the type that a dishwasher might destroy. My last steamer parts succumbed to that fate.
Happy so far. If it lasts me 15 years I’ll let you know
Serious upgrade compared with my previous steamer. The timer is so usefull, including the two compartments. Love it!
I bought this to replace my old model which I’d had for years.
I’m really impressed with the size.
I do love this it’s a great product easy to use and cooks fast. It’s a shame there’s not a spout to fill the water and the water reserve is difficult to clean properly.
This really is a fabulous steamer. The fact that you can set different timings by using the divider, means once you have set it you can leave to do it’s job. If you fill to maximum water level that generally lasts about 30 mins before you need to top up.
Brilliant when doing veg gof two people and you both like them cooked slightly differently to each other. The keep warm feature is invaluable when cooking the Sunday roast as timings can be varied , what with joint bring rested before carving and gravy made etc.
This is a great steamer very simple to follow the instructions in the brochure and touch screen on the front – use in well ventilated kitchen as it is quick to reach temperature and great for fish and vegetables, I will try the eggs next in the base of the steamer – thank you

This is a great product I haven’t used a vegetable steamer before but this one is very easy to use and clean.

Ive had this for a while now and never had any problems with it. its easier to use and the timers are really helpful. i would suggest to keep an eye on the kitchen as i didnt open the door and the room became smokey/steamy once.
Cooks rice fine with addition of water to rice pot before cooking, uses more water than you think, if cooking mange tout do not leave them in steamer even in empty container while rice is cooking as they will over cook. Needs a 2-4 minute function on the vegetables. Also top up function is fiddly and could use a funnel or similar that allows more water.

eally steams food. well does produce lots of steam so either have an extractor on or, open windows- not that easy to empty used water as whole steamer has to be carried to sink
In a bid to get healthy… Bought this and to be honest… love it!! Chicken fillets and all the vedges, baby potatoes and healthy dinner in 30 mins. Lovely!! Vedg is gorgeous! Ooozing flavour.. easy to clean if enjoy washing up.

So far, quite impressed. The digital controls were initially a worry, but are actually simple and instinctive. Easy to set up and get steaming.
Mainly bought to steam veg for weaning our baby, but we’ve hijacked it for ourselves. Salmon fillets cook beautifully and broccoli is a favourite. It doesn’t really get messy post-cooking, you might get away with a rinse if just doing veg. However, it does take up a lot of the dishwasher if you want to do it properly (wash it in the sink? nah…)
This low, wider style of steamer was chosen over the high stacking ones due to our under-cabinet height. But the bonus feature of this model is the ability to steam separate compartments for different times – and have them finish at the same time. Don’t worry, no maths required, it works out the sums for you.
Not tried spuds yet, I’ll stick to the stove for them. Potatoes aside, should be room for a family of 4’s veg needs, but no more.

Very nice food. Healty and easily cooked. The only problem is the cleaning, which takes a lot of time
J’utilise gnralement les modes de cuissons pr-enregistres qui sont fiables, par exemple 12 minutes pour les oeufs cuits durs.
Le rcipient est grand on peut cuire de grosses pices et la sparation est pratique pour faire deux cuissons diffrentes.
Par contre le mode d’emploi est en Anglais et il faut un adaptateur car la prise est Anglaise.
The down side is that it’s noisier and produces more steam than other steamers, and it takes up space. Also, I, so far, haven’t been able to get it to cook rice properly — the instructions seem to be just plain wrong.
Still, I bought it to avoid hassle, and it’s certainly meeting that objective.
And after using it for about three years …. I remain very impressed, and use it constantly. Just one piece of advice about descaling it. For reasons I don’t understand, the instructions tell you to use, not a commercial descaler (these usually consist of citric acid) but white vinegar. So, wait for a dry day, then do the job out of doors using an extension lead. Otherwise you will fill your home with acetic acid fumes — which is extremely unpleasant!
I love this steamer and use it to feed 3 of us and find there is plenty of room for vegetables. It’s much easier than having various saucepans all on the go together.
The vegetables taste great and the idea of been able to set the compartments to start at different times is handy. So you can just put it on and forget about all the different veg and what cooking times they take.
I have only cooked vegetables so far and not done any fish or meats. Obviously if I was to also cook fish for the 3 of us there wouldn’t be as much room for veg and there would only be 1 compartment to cook it in so I would need to add the veg with less cooking time at the appropriate time.
It would be handy if once you’d set the times it just waited until you press start, but it doesn’t, if you don’t start it immediately the timer display turns off. But this is just a small niggle it’s no big deal just to set the timer when you need it to start.
I would definitely recommend it!
Love this steamer….been on constantly since I got it…cooking has never been easier and healthy too.
Its an excellent steamer because you can put different items in that has different steaming times and the steamer takes care of that once you have set the timer, I am very pleased with this steamer.

Overall I am as expected very impressed! It does however get a bit annoying as this tends to beep a lot more at you to let you know what it’s doing, however, it is fantastic and would buy again, and in fact have! As a gift for my parents
I have used a 3 tier steamer before but didnt like it very much.
I have been using this steamer about 3-4 times a week on average for about a year now.
I have cooked vegetables, meat and fish in it.
I usually steam potatoes for about 30mins, cauliflower for about 15mins, broccoli for about 5mins, sprouts for about 15mins, carrots for about 15mins, eggs (hard boiled as it were) for about 15mins, chicken breast fillet for about 25mins and salmon fillet for about 20mins.
I have even cooked burgers, meatballs and bacon in it.
I have also cooked marinated food in it by wrapping it up inside cooking foil.
Every time I get fresh tasting food not overdone or underdone with these timings.
I usually top up the water after 15mins (so half way through) bu use fo the filler flap that pulls out and pushes back in.
It’s easy to clean. I just wash it up by hand as I don’t have a dishwasher.
It’s not too big so doesn’t take up a lot of space.
It can easily cook a decent sized meal for 2 people at a time, maybe 3 if smallish portions, but no more in my opinion.
But again as I am a single guy that is not a problem.
All in all it has never let me down, it is still working perfectly and I haven’t had a single issue with it.
The only thing I would point out is that it’s very slightly noisy as the water is boiled and sent through the nozzles into the steaming compartments, but it’s not a criticism, it’s just an observation.
The instructions are clear and easy to read and work out.
I would absolutely recommend this to someone in my position or for a couple who want healthy and fresh tasting food with the minimum amount of effort and washing up!
I myself couldn’t live without it now.

Great, I have had electric steamers before but not as good as this one.
i wasn’t prepared to pay 80 odds when i first saw it listed in amazon, but when i saw it at almost half that i went for it. it is the most sophisticated and versatile steamer i have ever had. it cooks food to perfection. rice, fish, you name it. i even cook my bean casserole in it! my only qualm is that i’d prefer for the clear box to be a little taller so i can sterilise my preserves upright instead of lying down. however i improvised a ‘canopy’ over my jars with some aluminium foil and a towel and that did the trick. it runs out of water fairly quickly but there is a little alarm that tells you you need to top up. it has a little drawer on the side for this purpose and a gauge so you can see the level of water. magic. i totally recommend it.
I really liked this product but unfortunately my partner did not, which was not at all down to the sellar or the quality of the product, it was purely down to that I had by complete accident incorrectly ordered the wrong steam cooker from the Amazon website. So I will be returning it the sellar on 27/12/14 and once I receive the refund, less the postage costs I/we will be ordering a new three tier steamer with immediate effect, which is the size that my partner wanted all along.

A great steamer does actually what it says, you delay one side of it so it comes on when the other side has been on for several minutes so that your food is ready at the same time.
As I usually cook for two, this dividable steamer is ideal for us. I like being able to put everything in, set the two timers so everything is cooked together, then being able to walk away and forget it. It takes quite a lot of water, but there’s a spout to top it up half way through cooking if it does go dry. Highly recommended.
