I have had this mower for over a month now and it works very well and as a mower I have no complaints. My complaint is that although I received multiple safety instructions in far too many language together with assurances that it and the batteries separately meet European standards the manual nowhere answers the questions that I would like to ask, these are.
When not mowing should I remove the batteries or leave them in place?
Should I top up the batteries after every use of let them run right down and then recharge them?
When I am not using the mower in the winter should I keep topping up the battery charge or just leave it until I need it in the spring?
Less bureaucratic nonsense and more practical help would greatly improve the instruction manuals.

Chose the 44cm mainly for the 5Ah batteries, the 37cm would have been ok width wise. Common sense to assemble the handles, a little tricky to complete the grass box but again common sense. The side clips around the frame are easy, the lower long plastic holder not so and in my case one (of two) of the rivets between holder and grass box broke.
On examination this rivet seems to have been compressed on factory assembly at an angle and the stem between the heads obviously weakened or in part broken. Needless to say it dropped off as it was placed on the mower body. Sooner than re-pack and send the complete unit back substituted a small stainless steel set screw and nut – mending a brand new unused machine is not good. This was inserted through the existing holes and when complete the flexible plastic holder was bowed. I can’t believe a mass manufactured item would have incorrect fixing centers between the rivets – the holes are about half a hole out, leading me to believe that the remaining original rivet has also been compressed at an angle – time will tell if this breaks, however I have many screws waiting to repair it, again.
The machine is attractive, light to use, cuts well with an absolute minimum of cut grass escaping the collecting box as opposed to the old hovering thing spraying grass up the wall and patio window. It arrived with 98% charged batteries and after the first cut with my wife using a vacuum sweeper approach (back and forth rather that long cuts) it still retains 66 and 65% charge.
Its a shame that one rivet spoilt an otherwise good purchase hence the reduction in stars.

Very easy to assemble. Batteries charge quickly and for my lawns (approx. 350 sq m) uses about 60% of battery charge on short grass.

Have always used corded mowers so when my 4-year old Bosch mower decided to fail (motor gave out) decided to make the change to battery. So far (3 summer cuts) I am very happy with the Murray.

Cordless is a dream. What took upwards of an hour and a half to cut now takes only a little over 30 minutes. Zips around and with the wide cut it saves time. Bag capacity is also good and for short grass can cut the lawns without needing emptying.

Very comfortable handle and selectable angle is good too.

The only drawback is that the lowest cut height is slightly higher than I am used to, but by no means is a dealbeaker. Nice to have a proper lever for selecting cut height rather than a plastic button and spring assembly (that also broke on the Bosch).

    Folds nicely for storage.

I will update my review after the winter and see how it fares on the first cut of the spring!

Lightweight and cord-free, with enough power to do the job.

Looks good; handle clasps not overly intuitive; batteries already charged, easy to install; good cutting height adjustment; light and manoeuvrable; good cutting quality; large grass collection bag; batteries marginal for our medium sized lawns, needed to recharge to finish the job; sufficient charge in around 25 minutes; Seems well built but it is plastic! Remains to be seen how robust it is.

Mower arrived earlier than expected, so couldn’t wait to open the box and see it.
I had been in two minds whether to get the bigger size, with the larger batteries for more power, or the one I did end up deciding upon, the 37″ cut for more manoeuvre ability and lighter.
So pleased I with it, I can now just take it out of the shed push in the batteries and go. It feels like a toy, I have wizzed round the garden in a fraction of the time I used to. I have cut my garden twice on one charge, with the handy battery status panel flashing only as I was finishing up.
I admit it’s only early days yet, and I don’t usually review Amazon stuff till So early, but if someone out there is trying to decide on what mower to buy I can only recommend the smaller of the two Murray models.
Just a note, I decided that Sprint and Murray where just the same, with different names.

I spent far too much time deciding which mower to buy. I wanted cordless, but considered robot ones too. Cordless though was a tricky proposition, they were a bit more expensive and frankly I have plenty of outside plugs I could use. After looking in detail at all my options though I took the plunge for this one.

To say I’m happy is an understatement. The battery is plenty big enough for my lawn area, it’s powerful and so light I can lift it easily with one hand with the handle, which is good for me as I have plants around my boarder. The lack of cable makes it as easy to use as the old petrol mower I used to use as a kid, no more faffing about flicking the cable out the way or worrying about running it over. It’s far more game changing than I thought it would be.

My lawn is really thick, to the point that it blew up my Bosch lawnmower, which in fairness was a few years old. But it couldn’t cope. This thing cuts it with ease. Nice and wide too so nice and quick! Love i

We have a fairly large garden, and a corded mower would not have been practical. We dislike the smell, pollution, and maintenance of a petrol mower. This mower was just what the doctor ordered – it’s relatively compact, lightweight, and powerful. My only complaint is the mower arrived without a mulch plug. This means we either have to bag our clippings, or rake out clumps of grass after each mowing. To date, I have been unable to find a mulch plug (the Murray site sends you to Amazon, Amazon says they don’t know if/when item will be in stock). Had the mower arrived with a mulch plug, I would have happily given it 5 stars.

I have been using this mower for two summers now and these are my observations on it.
This mower is lightweight, so easy to use, and cuts well with easily adjustable height settings. I much prefer this electric mower to previous petrol ones I have had for environmental reasons as well as ease of use.
The batteries give a good cutting time and don’t take long to recharge on the times when I haven’t quite finished.
    Bad points are,
The design of the way the grass box hooks on is poor, it kept detaching particularly over uneven ground. This became annoying so I now keep it in place with twisted wire, see photo.
Second thing was that a weld on the bar which adjusts the cutting height broke – poor design/workmanship. I got a friend to weld it so didn’t claim on the guarantee so I can’t comment on after sales service.
Overall I like the mower, it is a shame these two things have let it down.

Good mower let down by poor desig

Having taken the plunge into battery powered mowers, I am thoroughly impressed with this mower. It is lightweight and with no cable, it is easy to manoeuvre and powers through even slight long and damp grass. This mower eases through my medium sized lawn in half the time and on a single charge, with enough charge spare to strim the edges with the also great strimmer. Only if the grass is very damp and allowed to get very long are the limits of the batteries tested, but the charger is quick enough if a top up is needed that it doesn’t bother me to take a break. The mower is easy to assemble (watch the video on Murray’s website). The grass collection box is a good size, stays secure and collects grass until pretty much full. One thing to check (like any mower) is the cutting deck doesn’t clog up with grass stuck to it’s sides which slows the blade down and drains the battery and to occasionally sharpen the blade. Overall I recommend!

I’ve had a petrol mower for 30 years because my garden is a fair size and has rambling bumpy lawns. Felt the time was right to go green, but didn’t want to compromise on power.
Well, the handbook and assembly instructions are appalling! I try to follow instructions when assembling new stuff, but this was just baffling, so some initiative was needed. Having said that, it’s only the handles and bits like the safety plug. The diagrams are so small as to be useless. I’d be happy to rewrite the instructions if Murray ask!
Anyway, the mower itself is terrific. It’s light, powerful and very effective. I did my lawns in a fraction of the time it took with the faithful old petrol job. I don’t use the grass box because it adds weight and needs emptying too often, even though it’s generously sized. I did two of three lawns and the batteries still showed full, so no worries about capacity. Can’t do third lawn due to building works.
So: great cut, no petrol mower noise, light, easy, bags of power – Perfect!

I love this lawnmower. It is so easy and quick to use. It’s also cuts the grass beautifully. I’ve used it 4 times now. As soon as the grass grows a bit I just get the mower out and job done really effortlessly. I’ve always enjoyed cutting my grass but this mower makes me want to keep cutting it! The battery lasts well too.

I did find the instructions weren’t the easiest to follow, mainly assembling the handle but a uTube video sorted it for me.

If you’re looking for a cordless lawnmower then I can’t recommend this one highly enough!

I got this from Amazon Outlet so it was a lot cheaper. I have no idea why it was cheaper as it appears to be fine. Anyway, I am really please with its performance and cut. Batteries are 5ah so last a long time and I find I can get 2 cuts of my 300ft long lawn out of one charge. Do not leave them on charge overnight as the batteries do get hot while charging.
Easy to manoeuvre and so much quicker than wrestling with a cord and extension leads! I get the lawn cut in half the time! Only little gripe is the grass box which takes a bit of getting used to to sit it properly in the holder otherwise it falls off but once you’ve done it a few times you realise you have to push it into its holder to get a proper seating. All in all, a great buy and I would definitely recommend.!

It is light, has good battery life and is so much easier to use than our old petrol mower. Some mowers say they can mow right up to a wall, which this doesn’t, but I can’t say this is worse or better in that respect. I am very satisfied so far. Good value for money.

Whilst not having a vast lawn to mow, I chose this model because of the capacity of its batteries. In hindsight the slightly smaller model would have been more appropriate, both being on Prime Day, but I have what I have and am very pleased with the overall performance. The machine has cut both long grass and short grass very well and not having to worry about cables is a great boon. Also being cordless I can take it to my allotment occasionally to tidy up the grass edges there. The machine is manoeuvres well for a wheeled mower and picks up the grass well. The safety aspects are good though I do worry about loosing the single safety key supplied so ensure that I store it with one of the batteries when not being used. Overall a well built machine and so far no problems. Charging is quite quick though the charger is a beast. The provision of an USB port in the charger is also a good thought. Very pleased indeed. Just hope that it fairs better than my previous Mower which only lasted four years!!

now retired i found the mower getting heavy and harder to use (old age I guess) me not the mower..
so I thought i would try a battery type.
The Murray seemed the the one to try, looking at all the ratings, comments, pro’s and cons.
I have to say this mower is so easy to use, light to push, cuts the grass just as good as the petrol mower and took half the time to mow ( 3 medium size lawns) worth every penny.

Some reviews described this as a beast – can’t really agree because feels so light and manoevrable compared to old petrol mower. I am certainly faster up and down the garden with this one. What it does do is cut the grass very well and the collection box is particularly good at accepting what is thrown in its direction. I have had no issues with this falling off which probably relates to original construction. The manual is not helpful if you don’t know your way around mowers and I found the online photo of the mower a better help when attaching handle etc. But once assembled it is a joy to cut the lawn without the noise or exhaust fumes. Batteries are quick to charge but probable don’t quite have the expected run time.
This was a really good purchase at the offer price

Well, this lawnmower has mixed reviews but I bought on the recommendation of a friend and couldn’t be more pleased. I mowed my grass in 18 minutes as opposed to the 45 minutes it usually takes with a corded mowed, the grass box stayed put (common complaint being it keeps falling off) and it’s done a lovely job.

Only small downside is that the safety catch kept coming loose so I had to replace it 3 times in the 18 minutes. Not sure if that was my not securing it properly or whether it’s just a loose fit.

The batteries have 79% life left so will do another couple of cuts before recharging.

All in all a definite fan.

Bought this to replace a petrol mower and wasn’t disappointed. Lawn is around 100-150m2 over 3 areas and it uses up to half the battery capacity depending on how long the grass is. It’s very quick to use and much lighter than the petrol, which we need as we have to carry it up steps. Used to be a 2 man job, but 1 can handle it easily now. The top handle is great for this.

I’ve had this mower for over a year now and i am really pleased with the overall performance. It is incredibly light making it extremely manoeuvable and easy to use for almost anyone. The grassbox fits ok if positioned correctly but can fall of when going over a bump – just go a bit slower over the bumps and there are no issues. Battery life is relative to time used and grass conditions. Dont expect to be able to cut a good sized garden with long grass and use no power, the batteries drain accordingly. But if the grass is mown regularly and maintained then battery life is ok. If my mower broke then i would definitely buy again without hesitation.

Like many other reviewers I was apprehensive at making the switch from a self propelled petrol mower to a battery powered one. However, 3 weeks later I’m more than happy with this Murray machine.

Very easy to assemble (following the Murray YouTube video) and looks very smart.

Cuts superbly and it’s light as a feather compared to my old petrol mower so I don’t miss the self propelled facility at all. Also cuts the time down to mow the lawns considerably being lighter and more manoeuvrable.

Battery time impressive too. Front and back lawns done twice and still 20% charge spare. So I reckon 35-40 mins run time with these batteries. Really like the digital reader on the batteries too.

Can’t think of anything that I don’t like about this mower. Yes, the grass spits out of the collection box first time out but hasn’t done it since and the yes, the box is a little fiddly to begin with but 3 weeks in I’ve got the hang of it and it certainly feels more secure and more robust than my old mower.

Overall, very pleased with it and no regrets about switching from petrol to battery power.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have quite a large garden — half an acre — with most of it laid to lawn. This battery-powered mower doesn’t do a bad job of tackling it. I probably wouldn’t have bought this, if i) I hadn’t seen it on offer just after my brother had sent me money for my birthday, and ii) I didn’t already own a Sprint leaf vacuum that uses the same twin battery system — which means that I have a backup set of batteries. Our garden is divided into several lawned areas, and using two fully charged sets of batteries I can get around roughly half the garden. The battery charger is quite quick, and by the time I have exhausted my spare set of batteries, the first set are nearly recharged and ready to go again. The mower is really easy to use, so light and manoeuvrable that even though I’m waiting for a major operation I can manage to get this all round our garden, including tiered areas where I have to lift. The mower starts easily using a simple press button system. There’s no cable, no starter cord to pull, and no fumes. In use, it’s really quiet, and gives a really nice, neat, short cut to our lawns. I’m generally very impressed.

I have one small negative comment in relation to this, and have found one associated issue. The negative comment is in relation to the grass catcher: the pegs for attaching this to the mower go in to slots on the machine that are quite small, get clogged with bits of grass and hard to see — it’s easy to miss and not get the catcher properly aligned. This is a niggle rather than a problem, and once you know that the catcher needs a bit more attention you give it. The issue I have found is that this doesn’t seem to like being used just after the lawn has been scarified. We have lots of problems with moss, weeds/grasses from the adjacent fields, and an underlying soil that is heavy clay and (until recently) had a scarifier that doesn’t include a catcher. At other times, this mower works perfectly but trying to go over a lawn that has been scarified shortly before, to pick up after the scarifier, and the automatic cut out on the mower kicks in and shuts it down, something that hadn’t been an issue with our old petrol mower.

Looks OK. Will have to wait till it stops raining to try it out but I’m just impressed your driver put it in the shed as requested.

I was on the lookout for a new petrol lawnmower and when I discovered this battery powered one, I was a bit curious to know if it would be any good. After a few weeks of owning it, I am thoroughly impressed. It is incredibly lightweight (I even showed my neighbour how I can push it with just one finger!) and I’m able to cut the lawn to a very short length in little to no time at all. Under 13 minutes and still had 75% power left! This left plenty of power to also use a battery with the trimmer which I also purchased and is just as great!

I actually now look forward to cutting the lawn!

Makes light work of mowing the law

Dislike the fact a button had to be depressed pria to raising the on power bar but now modified to keep button permanently depressed. Everything else is fine.

Used a few times now and I love it, so much better then a corded mower, the only down side is that the grass box likes to come off while cutting the grass not a huge problem just clip it back on again.

Well worth the money! No arsing around with cables or engines. The batteries last longer than stated (refreshing for an electric product). My dad (65) has no problem using and lifting it, great for me while I have a beer in garden.

I looked around for a mower for a while and found this one. I was more interested in the wider blade than the little thin ones as it saves going up and down and looks a lot neater. The two batteries make sure it has enough power to blast through the grass (my wife said she could hear me cutting the grass from a few streets away like a helicopter 😀 ) but it doesn’t seem that loud when using it.
I manage to cut both my front and back lawns (about 300sqm altogether) with about 50% power on the batteries.
Very happy with it so far!

This is actually the best lawnmower on the market. Better than any branded alternative. 2 Briggs and Stratton 5Ah batteries. It’s a beast. Works for over an hour with 1 charge. It says 36 minutes in manual but it’s not true. It’s a beast, you won’t be disappointed 100%.

Great electric dual batter lawnmower. Doddle to put together, good carrying aspects, powerful as you like and cuts very very well.

Charge last well, only uses 50% charge for a medium sized lawn area.
Cuts really well, doesn’t like the grass around the 5inch height, it needs to be gone over a couple of times, lowering height each time.. Easy to assemble, easy to carry, easy to change the multiple heights on the blades, easy to use and most of all…. no cables.
    No regrets and highly recommended.

A nice lightweight mower that gets the job done! It is easy to adjust the height as well as getting the batteries in and out. It is so nice not having a cord dragging behind me getting in the way.

Excellent lawnmower. Light weight, easy to handle and does great job on Lawn faster than previous petrol mower. Large capacity grass box so less emptying. Handles fold for storage. Very pleased as I have arthritis and this is a dream.

I was not sure at first, I had no previous knowledge of ‘Murray’ but I am very impressed. Easy to assemble the few parts necessary. The charging and loading of the batteries couldn’t be simpler. But the most impressive feature was the ease of use and power. I have a difficult patch of grass full of weeds and other villains but this machines slices through like a hot knife through butter.

I purchased this particular model based on reviews, the sale price and the fact that the mower was a ‘Briggs and Stratton’! Assembly was straightforward and the batteries display the percentage charge which is useful.

At the first attempt, like others, the collection box kept falling off at every bump or turn. However, I followed someone else’s advice and manually ‘stretched’ the metal frame of the collected to increase the distance between the metal lugs. Now the box fitted snugly against the plastic slots and had some horizontal tension to keep it in place.

Now it works like a dream, very impressive wide and even cut, motor adjusts to load/grass length and the batteries charge quickly and last sufficient time to do front and back lawns. I would recommend this product, but just be aware that you may have to adjust the collection box frame with a bit of brute force to stop it falling off!

    Excellent cut and pick up!

Absolutely mint. Light, but not too light, long lasting batteries. I should have gone cordless years ago. I love the power it has and how easy it is to use. No servicing or fuel costs either.
