The torch light is very bright. The Floodliight is extremely bright, but with slightly dimmer setting as well, and flashing red.
The magnet base is very strong. The clip is great for an overalls chest pocket. The battery life is very good indeed for a torch of this high power. The case is tough aluminium. The price is very reasonable indeed. Buy one or several. You won’t regret it.
The size of this torch is a little long, however other than that it’s bang on the money.
It’s extremely bright, has a red light setting too incase you need it at night and the end is also an extremely bright torch setting if required.
The handy clip on the back of it allows you to slide it onto a vest or trousers with ease as well.
Definitely worth a buy if in need of a robust, not too heavy torch.

Perfect to wear on a uniform/shirt when working in dark environments when you need both hands free. Two different light modes and a flashing red mode. Buttons on top so you don’t need to remove it and look for the switch.

Bought to put on my stab vest. Bought this as an alternative to a klick fast body worn torch. Well worth the money and very bright for the size. Alot of police and security seem to be using these at the moment and I can see why.
I use this for my job and it is great! The light is super bright and the flashing red light is prominent.
I did get the smaller version and was so impressed with that one, I thought I’d get this larger size to see how it is! It hasn’t disappointed.
I have decided to buy rechargeable batteries, as they do go through batteries quick, which is understandable from how bright this torch is.

An amazing torch, didn’t realise how bright this thing is, nearly blinded me. The red hazard light function is a good extra touch. The magnet on the bottom is a bit disappointing, very weak, but to be honest I doubt I would ever use that. Highly recommend getting this especially for the price.

Love Big Larry – really bright either in beam mode or flood mode. Easy to adjust brightness by holding the on/off button. The magnetic base and belt/nail clip have come in handy so often. Great value and would highly recommend!
This has 3 modes, top light, side light and flash red side light. The first one i had, the red light stopped being selected, so only top and side light. I got this replaced, but since then it has happened to this one. I think its a common fault for this, so dont expect to be using the red light. The other 2 lights work well

Had a the previous big Larry and after a lot of abuse it gave up. Versatile and Larry 2 combines COB with std torch. It is advisable to get good high capacity rechargeable batteries as on full brightness it is power hungry. you can dim the light by holding the button so you can stretch out the on time.
Buy again no problem.

As a torch it is excellent, nice and bright and powerful. However, when it arrived it was in the display mode which only left the light on for about 10secs. After a lot of searching I found out that if you take the batteries out of it and hold the on/off switch for approx 15 secs then it would work as a normal torch. All good so far but how do you get the batteries out? I tried every twist and turn on the torch and the only thing I could turn was the lens cap on the top of the torch and it was obvious that the batteries were not coming out that way. Once again after a fairly long search on the web I was told that the bottom unscrewed. Try as I could the bottom would not unscrew. I resorted to using my neighbours vice and wrench and finally we succeeded. The bottom must have been screwed up with a torque wrench. Other than this problem; an excellent torch.

Great light !!!!!! apart from the red lights! The only thing that I wish I could change is to have the option to disable the red lights completely.
The reason for that is that you have to flick through the light modes to get the desired mode which is fine but can be annoying sometimes ! I just wish it had two buttons! One to control the red lights and one to control the led lights.

Sturdy light magnetic attachment very good use quite a lot, battery life not as good as I thought but was using for 3 hour or more each day so always good for short periods of time.

I love Larry. I call him that. He’s bloody fantastic! The magnet is really useful for me as a surveyor as is the two main white light types. It’s such a useful torch, I use it almost every day. Been using it for months and haven’t needed to change the batteries yet.

brilliant product at a even better price the magnet is strong and torch is bright the clip is fine but admittedly haven’t used it on a hook or nail as it suggests but for a versatile torch it is outstanding. highly recommended used it in my home gym and fixing dishwasher.
I knew the Big Larry was a great torch as I already have one. I bought this as a gift for someone, but I bought it a little too fast without reading the description fully. This is not the rechargeable version (my fault for not reading) That is the only reason for a star loss. It is still a great, bright and solid torch. I prefer my original version that you can recharge.
Great torch. Second one of these that I’ve bought as I lost the first, very versatile in its use with two light sources and the ability to be used as an emergency locator too. 3 stars for battery life, but not the lights fault. I had the light in my tool ruck sack and the button was pressed whilst in the bag. But suspect it has great life. The light output is fantastic from a smallish lens. I am well pleased and would strongly recommend especially at the price. I have seen far more expensive lights not give the output this gives.
Well designed and also well made with a nice quality feel and weight in the hand. A very useful item, light output is good, with built in clip and a magnetic foot it can be used in many hands free situations.
At this price and along with a 2 year warranty, I’m personally very pleased with it.

othing wrong with the torch but why do they not provide even basic instructions. It doesn’t even mention the fact you can dim each light source on the back of the box so without instructions you wouldn’t even know it has that feature. I found out about it after watching an unboxing video on the NOBO website.
Possibly the best small torch I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned a few over the last 40yrs. Small but sturdy. Simple to use. Also perfect for poo picking when walking the dogs at night. If you’re looking for a small torch then this is the one.
Really bright for its size. The belt clip is brilliant, it’s shape reduces the possibility of accidentally coming off the belt.
The only annoying thing is the delay when you turn it on. After pressing the button, it takes a while for it to illuminate.

Absolutely brilliant! Very bright! Cars driving towards me could see the red blinking light about 100 yards away. Had to jump start a car in the dark and the torch stayed put with the magnet. Couldn’t fault it. Not tested battery longevity to the fullest yet, but so far so good. I’m glad I bought the larger version of the two – and it still fits in a utility pocket. Be careful not to blind yourself though, feels like the button should be on the opposite side of the cob light!
This is a nice bright light. It’s nice to be able to have it sat on charge so that it can always be available when required.
There are two charging methods in the box so I can have one lead in the car…. Or maybe I will keep my eye out for it being on offer then getting a second one at some point. :~) I live in hope.

A very versatile torch which is robust for any tradesman and adaptable to the job you need it to do. The magnet is super strong so allows it to be upside down or horizontal whilst working. Super bright bar light. Only down point is it does drink batteries and the switch can be lightly pressed and come on without knowing I.e. in toolbox/bag.

I am a bit of a torch nerd & have a few, this is not the brightest one I have but it is the most useful & versatile and the one I use 99% of the time. If you want a great household /diy/motoring torch & don’t need to light up Wembley stadium this is all the torch you will need. (plus maybe a keyring torch )
I owned the original Big Larry the big Larry 2 highlights some of the short fallings and makes a product which I really can’t find a fault with.
This torch is very well made and extremely bright the magnet on the base is strong and will hold the flashlight inverted or at 90′ to the ground. it is not so strong that it is a struggle to pull off.
the red flashing mode I hope never to need as this torch now lives in my car and I can only see this mode being used to ward people of my location.
The top light is independent of the side light. You can’t have both on at the same time but I don’t see this as a short coming.
All in all this is a fantastic torch for the car, work place or stocking present.
Really sturdy, small enough to carry in a pocket, and yet robust enough to be knocked about. Brilliant light. Highly recommended.

Literally Brilliant!!! Well made, solid, sturdy and great light output! Recently had cause to use it at night to look under my car after I started hearing a rattling noise on the way home. It was really good. I also bought myself another for use around the house/garage/to keep in the toolbox, one for my brother and another for my brother-in-law.

gone through many of torches for inspection uses and general work. This has a really strong magnetic, survived some high drops and is bright.
The only down side is its not very pocket friendly compared to some other torches on amazon.
But a great torch for working on vehicles.
I bought this as a replacement for my original ‘Big Larry’ which I have mislaid, my favourite work light. Great for working in tight spaces under the car, its all size and strong magnet allows you to stick it firmly in place while you work. My go to ‘torch’. This updated version has the addition of a directional torch and a dimming function which I didn’t know about until I received it. To be clear, I prefer the two power levels offered by the mk1 version as it is easier to operate in a hurry, but this is a minor issue as it defaults to full power which is how I use it most of the time. One good feature is that it works from standard ‘AA’ cells which you can get from most stores if they expire unexpectedly. Based on my use in the mk1 these batteries have a very reasonable life. Recommended, I may buy one for work survey use too! Just mind the magnet near to your watch!

Slightly smaller than I imagined but it has a very bright light that can be adjusted down if necessary. Sturdy metal case with a magnet on the base so that you can use the work light easily under a bonnet if you need to. I don’t know what the battery life will be yet as, being in the car in case of breakdowns, I hope I don’t need to use it much! Flashing red light would be useful if you needed to draw attention to yourself.
It comes blister packed (Photo 2), so would make a nice present.
Made from Aluminium, it feels very well built and solid in the hand.
The battery cover has a nice rubber o ring, so I have no reason to doubt its water resistance claims.
Size wise, it’s a little bigger than the original Big Larry, at 198mm long.
It takes 3 AA batteries (supplied) and when they are inserted, it has a total weight of 200 grams.
Like the original, it has a good strong magnet in the base, but also now has a pocket clip at the top. This clip also has a hanging hole.
Because of the weight, it’s fine for clipping onto trousers or an internal pocket in a jacket, but is probably too heavy for a front shirt pocket.
The main difference between this Big Larry 2, and the original, is the inclusion of a focused torch on the top.
It’s a good bright beam.
At a distance of 2m it has a main beam area diameter of 40cm, which, if my calculations are correct gives a beam angle of 11 degrees.
So it’s quite tight, but very usable, with a working distance of 20m plus.
The COB flood is very bright and lights up everything within the area.
It’s makes for a really good work light, with good even coverage.
The other COB modes of constant red and red flash, are good and bright and work well if you need them.
You can also set the level of brightness to conserve battery power if you wish.
Once you are in your chosen mode, if you then keep your finger on the ‘on’ button, it will fade down to its lowest level. It will then flash, and then fade back up to its highest level. Obviously you release your finger at the required level.
It always turns on at full brightness.
I have included 2 night photos of both the torch and the COB in use in a room 8m long. Photo 1 is the COB light, Photo 3 the top torch light.
The modes are all accessed from one button on the front. Cycling through, torch, COB, red constant and red flash and lastly, off.
An improvement over the original Big Larry is that you no longer have to cycle through all options to turn the light off.
So long as it has been on for at least 3 seconds, a quick press of the button will switch the light off.
The light always comes on in the top torch mode. It does not remember the last mode you were in.
One thing to note, when you receive the torch it will be in demo mode, which means it will switch itself off after 10 seconds.
To cancel this, remove the batteries, press the on button, then reinsert the batteries.
Overall, this is another great torch from Nebo. The addition of the top pencil torch is very welcome and build wise its still as sturdy as ever.

Had a 2 x AA LED maglite, purchased 2014 from amazon. Duracells leaked, I got them out, cleaned but the torch does not work any more.
We’ll see how this goes, it’s larger but does more. Magnetic base is impressive, no zoom on the led though. Feels very solid, looks like it will scratch easily, couple of scratches on the joins already, but as it is meant to be a work torch that won’t matter soon. No instructions, needed pliers to unscrew base to take out batteries.
If this lasts as long as the maglite (which is GBP 23 right now on amazon) it would be a relative bargain.
Pretty good performance from the product and would recommend it to anyone considering to buy.
My only issue was that due to the substandard packaging the lens has got a blemish on the outside and there is also contamination on the inside of the lens. I would expect better from this quality of product.
Whilst performing these works, it is always handy to have a good quality torch to help illuminate those dark hard to reach areas within the engine bay or even inside the interior of the car.
I have purchased many torches over the years, all of which eventually broke. However I have now just discovered a torch which not only has outstanding build quality, but is super bright and has saved me on a few occasions.

This torch has a very high quality build when held in your hand, very similar to those maglite torches. (those are expensive if I remember)
It’s not small enough to just fit in your pocket. Although there is a smaller version available if it suits your requirements better called the Nebo Lil Larry
The torch is really bright. 500 lumens output. Which can be dimmed down to extend the battery if desired.
It features a focused beam spot light on top, a work side light to illuminate a large area and a flashing red light option for a distress situation.
The best bit about the torch is that it features the use of 3x AA batteries. None of this lithium ion battery technology that will last only a few years.
AA batteries will always be available to buy anywhere. You can keep spares in the car and they never discharge over time. Perfect!
A perfect addition to the glove box, and with it not costing the earth you can buy another one for the tool box indoors.
I also had a situation where I had a flat tyre, the torch came so handy. Its magnetic base attached itself to the top of the wheel arch giving hands free illumination to the wheel area on the side of the road.
It was a dark cold night, this torch saved me and made the whole situation that much easier.
The base can be attached to the underside of the bonnet too, so that you can work on your engine at night or if you have broken down.
I cannot recommend this torch enough. Buy it!
The main torch provides a strong beam with a medium spread and good distance.
The bar-light is strong enough to illuminate most domestic rooms and attics. I used it it a shipping container and with the torch anchored to the ceiling by its magnet, I was able to get to the other end and see well.
Two significant improvements over its smaller sibling (Lil’ Larry) are that it has a solid red light mode in addition to the strobing mode, and the single button turns the light off if pressed after approx 10s instead of having to cycle through the different light modes.
If you’ve used Lil’ Larry, then this feels a fair bit bigger, heavier, and more cumbersome. Much less handy as a clip-on wearable as it tends to sag the clothing you clip it to much more.
The torch is waterproof and I’ve got many hours on a single set of batteries.
My only complaint is the button is the same side as the strip light so if you look down at the button to locate it before pressing it can take several minutes for your sight to return! Once you get used to locating the button, actively looking away and then pressing it you’ll be fine. 😉

What a great light with a massive capability, really well built feels very solid in your hand, metal construction and weighty also, magnet is very strong and holds well. I was very impressed with the Big Larry 2 a lot of punch for such a compact light. I received my order shortly before attending a museum by torch light event with my family, must say it was awesome at illuminating the items and exhibit’s , the children loved using it to light up everything, even switching to red light mode on occasion to make certain things look more dramatic. So far it’s been an amazing piece of kit.
Super practical torch. Bright main beam for longer range, even lighting from the panel in white and red modes. Magnet on the base is strong enough to support the torch when on steel.
The Big Larry 2 has the addition of a flashlight at the end as well as the work light feature on the side. Both are very bright. It also has a steady red light and a flashing red light. Press and release the button to cycle through the four modes. Holding down the switch causes the selected light mode to dim. However, hold it down too long and it reverts to full brightness, so it’s a bit tricky to obtain the required level without practice.
You have to cycle through all the remaining modes to reach the OFF position, which is a bit of a nuisance and when switched back on, it reverts to full brightness.
It seems solidly made and has a reassuring weight and quality feel. The magnetic end cap is very strong.
Only just got it so I don’t know about battery life but it’s really solid and very bright. There are no real instructions just a sticker that tells you to remove the batteries and press the button. If you don’t it keeps turning off. Going to purchase Lil Larry as well and probably any more Larrys that they come up with.

This is a very well made light, I like the fact it can be used as a normal torch or it can be clipped onto your coat and use it like a hands free lamp and it has very bright red cob for emergency use, I think it’s a very well thought out light.
Look this has not had an easy life and the top is a bit loose but thats on me, I am a bad owner I have dropped it multipale times from height. The magnet works well it has no clip but you can wedge it in your pocket and it lights up very well. This product is perfect for vehicle inspections as you can use the magnet to hold it in place. The two brightness modes allow you to swap with a few clicks and is very usefull.
I recomend this product to any one but would love a clip on it.

I nearly returned it as it kept turning off after about 10 seconds, but when checking the batteries, I noticed a small sticker mentioning ‘demo mode’ and you had to remove the batteries, and then press the ‘on’ button, then put batteries back in, to make it function normally.
Also Googled how to dim the lights, and even at half brightness, it’s very very adequately bright for normal use – and the batteries will last longer!
Glad I got the V2 version as the ‘normal’ type torch at the end is really useful, with a nicely focused beam. The ‘cob’ flood light is a very bright work light.
Couldn’t recommend it more (but do check the size – it wouldn’t fit in your pocket like a ‘lil Larry’ does)
Not a bad little tool but I’m not sure it’s worth the price tag!
seems really good, and the magnetic base is very handy. better than lights I have paid 2 or 3 times as much for, and great that it uses standard AA batteries instred of those expensive CR123 ones. Seems like a bargain!

This is a fabulous torch, extremely bright, tough with its metal body and fantastic battery life.

Great little torch that fits in your pocket. The settings are perfect for my needs. It’s so good that I have two of them, one which I keep with my camera. The other one I use when walking home late at night. The flashing red light is a life saver, the road I walk has a lot of heavy traffic and before I had this brilliant torch it could be hair raising! Now as I leave the village I clip it to my back pocket in flashing mode and the traffic sees me with plenty of time to slow down or at least give a wide berth when passing. It’s also great for winter wild camping. Will light up the area where we end up no problem at all.
1. It’s robust (been dropped a few times and still going strong)
2. It’s crazy bright and better than any other floodlight I’ve used. Even the low power setting provides plenty of light to work by.
3. Batteries last really well, much longer than my older torches, and they’re not a fraction as bright as this new one.
4. The magnet is really strong. It’s been used stuck under the bonnet to floodlight the engine bay, to the garage door, to the frame of my campervan to light up the inside, and it holds its own weight well.
5. It came well packaged with batteries already in it, and spare batteries attached. Made a really good gift.
6. It’s water resistant. I’ve accidentally left it in the garden in overnight rain a few times and it’s just fine.
It’s a really good quality, well made, very bright torch.
