Resolution
When you are using a rear-view camera module the resolution of your front camera will automatically adjust to manage the two high resolution video files. The options for these settings are :

fast delivery and works fine
easy to install, you need to reformat the SD card (or at least mine did) then it worked fine with no issues. Easy to adjust so that you get a good image out of the rear window
Very easy
Obviously not as good as a fitted one to the rear as it looks through the cabin, but super easy to fit and it’s not as permanent as a fitted rear camera. Good for what I needed as rarely have backseat passengers using the middle seat.

It works
It’s a good rear dashcam, only issue is due to the mount being magnetic every time you hit a big pot hole (common in the UK) with our awful road quality you often find the camera goes out of alignment.
A stronger magnet could have done the job. There’s plenty of wiring to run from the front of your vehicle to the rear window, I’ve got the Ford Focus estate car.

I have waited a while to review this product putting it through some prolonged period of use. I must say I’m not disappointed with the quality of the footage it’s brilliant for catching tailgating or even a rear end shunt if your unlucky, but yes it captures the vehicle behind you registration and all down to the drivers face. So you have no problems identifying anyone who likes to tailgate, run in the back of you and then do one it’s all you need for peace of mind. Brilliant addition to my front facing camera which is just as good

Great addition to my nextbase 422gw – perfect to capture what’s happening from the rear of the car.
Good quality rear cam
The camera was well packaged. The picture is OK but as I’m running the front cam on 2k it reduces the rear cam to 720hd. I can set the front cam to 1080p, which will then let the rear cam run at 1080p. In other reviews, people had problems with camera movement on the magnet. Especially when opening and closing the boot. I have run the cabling through the rubber sleeve allowing the cable to be part of the tailgate. By doing this the camera is secure and doesn’t move.

Read this before you buy
First off it is a great product, easy installation and picture quality.
However, what I was not aware of is the micro SD has to be specific, otherwise it won’t work.
Like the other reviews I tried different versions and it cost me money you might as well just buy the next bass microSD card. You can try and take shortcuts and use other manufacturers but the device will have a crash, or not record at times.
You need to buy the Nextbase micoSD card to get this to work, an added cost that is not clear.

Extremely easy to install
I had been bought the front-facing camera as a present and was impressed with it. I therefore decided to add the rear-facing camera to get all-round coverage. It was incredibly easy to install, literally just click it into the existing camera. The only thing I would say is that if your rear-view is restricted by the design of the car, you might find that the camera can only cover a fairly limited field. That aside, the picture you do get is very clear.

Excellent option if you can’t install a dedicated rear camera
I got this as I couldn’t install a dedicated camera on the rear camera.
It provides a clear view of the road behind essentially like what you see out of your rear mirror. In daylight I can clearly read number plates of the car behind. At night not so much, but I think you’d be hard pressed to find any camera that can clearly show the number plate.
This provides an ‘eye in the back of your head’ and it’s much better knowing there’s an independent witness if something happens.
Install was simple but I wouldn’t say it was practical. As the module attaches to the existing dash cam, you have to fiddle about to try and get the front and rear views acceptable. Don’t do what I did and stick it on after getting a good rear view then realising I put it too high so the front dash cam is obscured by rain as it’s outside the wiper.
It would be an idea to get the extension cable for this module so you can place each camera separately if you have trouble finding a good place.
Overall a great option if you can’t install a dedicated rear cam.

Good camera with good picture. Easy to install. Just one minor problem is the length of the cable, Its too long so hiding it can be a problem

I bought a mirror cam last year with the recommended sd card. Partner had a accident and it didn’t record the incident and was very angry. For peace of mind I bought the lastest nextbase dashcam that I thought was over priced but I feel at ease if anything was too happen again since I can rely on this.

Excellent for convertibles
This was a great solution for me as it plugs into the side of you’re dash cam as I have a convertible and can’t really fit a rear facing camera without putting it outside tye car
So this is an excellent alternative
Plug and play
Just put it into side of front facing camera and it works straight away, the lens can be directed but actually suited my car straight away. Great item. As useful for the police as well as a crash.
May need suppression or re-routing
Works really well, very pleased.
However located near the rear antenna, or cables routed in the vicinity of antenna cable will cause interference on in car radio.
The ferrite cores supplied help massively.
I have yet to relocate the camera (it is currently centred and in the upper part of tailgate).
Just sacrificing some radio stations at the moment.
Brilliant add on device
Fantastic rear view camera for my Nextbase 522gw. Simply plug it into the right hand side of the front facing camera and adjust the lens to give you a really good view through the rear screen of your car.
No other set up required.
Easy install
This is the easiest way to install a rear camera if you already have a compatible dash cam. It does not give the same field of vision as a rear window mounted camera but is adequate and much easier than running a cable. The only thing I have noted is that the lens adjustment could be better if it had a slightly greater movement.
