Put this on my front table and the kids and grandkids get stuck watching the slideshow. Easy to use and upload pictures. Only downside is you have to keep your screen active on your phone for the pictures to upload.

What I don’t like about this there is a subscription to increase capability and options to upload videos. Even then, they have to be very short – 1 minute or less in length. I didn’t think the subscription was worth the price. My mother has this in her apartment and all the grandkids upload their family pictures for her to see. In that respect, its a great way to easy share family photos without mom being a techno genius to review them.

Nixplay is fun. When you walk in a room, your slideshow is going and the more pictures you add, the better. Start with past pictures and then add new family and friend photos. You can add music too which is why we turn ours off at night.

I bought a different brand and set it up for a loved one last year then bought this brand for myself. This is a high quality frame, easy to use, and can be wall mounted (although it still requires a cord). I especially like that it turns on when there is motion but is otherwise off. I highly recommend it.

This was a mother’s day gift for my mom. With email access all of the family can send pictures to her frame. She loves it! She loves getting frequent photos of her great grandchildren. It was easy to setup and I can adjust her setting from across the state if need be.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis digital frame is very easy to use. I have added all all of my new pictures (and videos) on this frame. I have also loaded our old printed pictures that we took with our camera to this frame (took a picture of the picture with my IPhone and then added to our frame). When our kids send us pictures/videos of our grand children we are able to load them on the frame. We loved this frame so much we also purchased one for each of our children. I highly recommend this frame.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI received this as a gift from my office mates when my mom was dying from pancreatic cancer. I found old photos from when she was a child and uploaded them as well as other family photos old and current. When she was no longer able to speak she would be able to watch the picture show from a table that we moved her by her bedside. While she could still understand as I explained different pictures to her she would smile, sometimes laugh and be able to blink yes or no to questions I had. This was the most incredible gift for us all and I am forever grateful for it.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersMy cousins and I pitched in to buy our grandfather this frame for Christmas two years ago. He’s 87 years old and lives alone with visits from family everyday. We all have the email address and send pictures regularly. After two years he is STILL watching it every day. It’s on his table and he loves pointing out the people in the pictures to his visitors. When he caught COVID and was in the hospital for 2 months and then long term care, we brought it to him and it helped keep him company. It worked easily to take it on the road. Tonight I hooked it back up to his home wifi so he can get more pics downloaded. The app, remote and frame are easy for people to understand. Recommend if someone is 60+ that you have someone a bit younger set it up. We are so grateful for this technology.

PS: Pacco davvero ben fatto e prodotto spedito in tempo.

without question the best remote frame I have ever used or tested and I have tested a number of them. Nixplay builds in remote access and management as incredibly crazy that some WIFI frames do not. however the actual software to manage your frames and playlists is more awkward than a donkey clipping its own fingernails. The management software needs great improvement.

Without a subscription the frame can only hold 100 pictures you have to subscribe to their program to be able to have the frame hold more. After spending $200 on a frame, I really didn’t feel like spending more money for it to hold more. I gifted this to my father in law and he loved it. When my mom asked for one, I bought a different one for the same price that can hold 30,000 photos. The frame itself isn’t as pretty and it doesn’t have motion sensors, but it holds way more pictures.

This frame is awesome. Started out getting one for my late husband’s mother-in-law, decided to get one for my own parents and then also for my boyfriend’s mom. I set each of them up before gifting and they all absolutely loved them! I began loving them myself as I set them all up wishing I had one. They are especially great when you have loved ones you don’t get to see much and they can send pictures and short videos all the time. To my surprise my daughters got me one for Christmas and I was so happy! Highly recommend the Nixplay frames!

If you are looking for something that has no borders when showing photos, then this isn’t for you. It was a gift given to family and they are in love with it, but personally, I wouldn’t be able to use it as that is a deal breaker for me – other than that, quality is amazing.

For set-up, it is incredibly simple and easy but the app that comes with it was a little bit troublesome if you try and switch ownership of the Smart Frame. It is incredibly easy to show family how to add photos as well as helping far-away relatives upload photos to the frame themselves.

Packaging and opening experience felt premium. Overall a fantastic Christmas gift for family.

We just got our own Nixplay after buying one for both sets of grandparents. We set them up for them as, yes, it initially requires some technical ability. The Nixplay app and emailing of photos was klunky. However, once we discovered that we can link a Google Photos folder and all of our siblings can just add photos to these shared folders causing them to show up on the grandparents’ devices, we were blown away. It is super simple once everyone gets access to the folder. This is the killer feature of the Nixplay. I wrote this review only because I didn’t see anyone talking about this. Google Photos is free

This frame is great for my grandma who will be turning 90 in February 2022. She is home a lot, as it is getting hard for her to get out. I bought this frame and gave out the account information to family members. Everyone can add photos directly to this frame through the Nixplay app. We are all adding photos to it now, so when she gets it for Christmas, there will already be a ton of photos for her to see. It was also very easy to connect to my home wifi. When I take it to her house I will just change the wifi set up. From what I understand, this frame should hold about 8,000 photos, that are easily uploaded. I definitely recommend for it’s ease of use and quality of the photos once they are uploaded. Grandma can now see a continuous slide show of family including great grand children that live in Alaska and even as far as Italy.

We’ve bought a few of these digital frames for ourselves and family but this is the one we are most happy with. It’s definitely worth the price compared to other models.
    – Screen quality and clarity is much better.
    – The phone app is much better that JointFrame or Frameo. People you share the album with can actually see what is displayed on the frame avoiding duplicates. Adding and deleting pictures are easier.
    – Motion sensor and scheduling features.
    – Although there are paid features the standard service is more than adequate.
    – Once it’s setup it requires no maintenance therefore if you give it as a gift to parents or grandparents they don’t need to do anything after you’ve set it up.
All in all it’s a recommended product.

This was a Christmas gift for my parents, they absolutely love it. I set it up for them, created an account for myself and my sister. We both send photos to the frame regularly and I get calls from them often telling me how happy there are to see new photos show up. They get to see what the grandchildren are up to without looking at social media sites. The frame and app have been simple and easy to use, we have never had to troubleshoot any issues. My mom even figured out a way to set off hours for the frame every night so that the motion doesn’t trigger it on at night. She also manages the photos by putting older ones ina different folder so they only see newer or favorite photos. My sister also loves that she can download all the photos, we have tried multiple photo sharing methods and this is actually a pretty good side plus of the frame. Greatest gift ever for grandparents.

I created a gallery wall in my living room. I brought frames 4 a few pictures and had a few pictures blown up from my phone gallery but I couldn’t afford to get anymore and I don’t think I would’ve had the space to hang all the photos so its cool being able to add a picture to my frame and display it that way. I didn’t like in the beginning that the frame had to be continually plugged in but since I’ve had it my bill hasn’t drama increased and no fires have started as a result of the frame so I love it now. And I like as life goes on I can add new pictures.

It’s my mum’s favourite item in the whole world, she is mesmerised by it. We all upload pictures to it all the time, from our phones, so she gets new photos every day on her frame. Very easy to use, seamless, and free once you’ve bought the quite-expensive frame. Great quality picture too.

With Covid and not being able to get together as a family, I got this frame for my parents so myself and my siblings could easily upload photos of our kids to it and keep them connected. The setup is a little clunky, but once it’s up, it’s as simple as setting up a shared Google Photo Album with whoever you want to be able to contribute.

One issue I have been having is the Google Photos account occasionally becomes disconnected. I’m not sure if this is one Google’s side or Nixplay’s side, but you may find you need to go in and reconnect the account occasionally.

The image quality is incredible, very sharp and clear. And the built in stand is great.

I purchased a Nixplay frame for my 94 year old technically challenged mom. I had read a review stating that they didn’t like the fact that their mother (also technically challenged) had to accept friend requests in order to receive pictures. So that made me hesitate a bit – but I figured we could update her frame from time to time. But I found a solution to this which I wanted to share in a review. First though I want to say that this is a great frame! Picture quality is amazing – and I love how easy it is to share photos with my long-distance family. Since getting a frame for my mother I got one for myself, one for my sister, and one for each of my two daughters 🙂 We love them! Here is the solution to having a frame for an elderly person. I simply have my mother’s frame on my account – you can have up to 5 frames on one account – and I manage the photos for her. I accept the friend requests for her and manage her frame long distance – she is in Atlanta and I am in San Diego. 🙂 All Mom has to remember is how to use the remote to turn it on & off. Great frame! Love it!

We bought this for our mom and monitor it for her ourselves. It’s worked well for the family to email photos to the frame, and she loves it; however there have been a few glitches: 1) when a person emails their first pic to the frame’s email address, they receive an email that seems to tell them they need to set up an account. They do not. Administrator just has to approve the sender’s email address, and sender can email pics without setting up an account, 2) Nixplay did a software update that caused us to have to go through the approval process all over again with the family, and pics were not being added to the frame because of another issue related to the software update; so we spent a lot of time troubleshooting the issue, because we didn’t receive a notification from the company this was happening (we had to call but were able to talk with tech support) 3) the frame drops off wifi from time to time and needs to be reconnected.
All in all, mom really enjoys the frame; so it’s been a good purchase. Motion detection works great, and she enjoys looking for new pics. Her grandkids like looking at it too. Would love a feature on the frame itself that alerts her when a new pic is received. It’s been running on motion detection for many months and still going strong- no issues with the screen or power.

Update: still working great as of 10.24.22!

I bought 2 of these. One was shipped to my
MIL and one I had shipped to myself to set up for my parents. My MIL said it was very easy to set up and get me the serial number I needed to share a playlist I created. I also found it very customizable.

I have given 2 frames to long distance grandparents. I am easily able to curate a photo album from the Nixplay app. I even had my SIL get the app and we collaborate on a playlist for one set of grandparents. So the grandparents only have to set up motion sensing/schedules/brightness/volume (all done with the remote that comes with the frame). Meanwhile, from across the country, two moms can create a joint playlist of baby photos and it gets updated automatically to the frames.

This is so simple and perfect for our family living far apart to share baby milestones/photos without involving social media. I really love it and I have received awesome feedback from the recipients. My dad says he will just sit and watch all the photos and short 15 second videos.

Next up, we will get one for the great grandparents!

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersSo I bought a cheaper option Dragon touch for about 115 as I wasn’t sure what to expect and it was good but the functions were slow and it freezes if you put in an SD card or usb with loads of pictures. The Touch screen is just about usable and from a distance picture quality is great but if you are close it’s a bit meh. Worth it if it’s on sale for 80 or less.

Then I got the NIXPLAY for my mother and I wish I spent the extra 45 pound.

The picture quality is 100% amazing mobile pictures and of course DSLR look phenomenal. The colours stay true to the original picture and it’s just great.

You can upload up to 100 pictures at a time. All the sub 120 Fames hide the fact you can only load 9-12 pictures at a time. This is massive when it comes to time. 100 pictures took around 5-12 minutes but you can do that even when it’s on standby.

The stand is solid and well built and doubles up as a power in. It is mains only but you could get a batter pack and the right voltage cable though I haven’t tried this yet.

I wish it was a tad cheaper as essentially all frames are just a tablets and you can buy a good tablet for about 110. But it is what it is.

I will be buying more of these for family but need to calm down as it is pricey but bloody worth it.

I purchased this as a gift for my elderly parents. We have family scattered all over. It’s great to be able to have family members send their pictures right to the device. I setup the device to my parents wifi very easily. I manage the actual app, friends who can share photos, and what albums play. It’s best for me to manage this as my parents aren’t that tech savvy and this way they can’t really mess it up. Easy for them and the love seeing all of the pictures come across. About the only thing I think would be nice would be if there could be a small icon that would continue to appear in the corner when new pictures have downloaded. This way my parents could touch the button to momentarily disrupt the rotation and look at those pictures and then go back to regular rotation afterwards. As it is if they aren’t sitting right by the until when new pictures arrive it may take them a long time to happen upon them with the rotation. I guess this may not be a problem if you don’t have a lot of pics in the album but with 23 family members scattered across the world sending photos we quickly downloaded over 100 photos to the album.

I got this for my Mom for Christmas. She has emphysema and has been in quarantined pretty much since March. She misses her family so much. She has Facebook for pictures but we wanted her to have something special from us just for her. She isnt tech savy at all but thats part of why this is perfect. Me and my siblings can use the app for the product and upload pictures that go directly to her picture frame any time we want. It can even play little home movies with sound by just uploading it to the app. Plus it came with a very easy to use remote which is perfect for her. I have recommended this to so many people since I bought it. I just wish more people knew about this product especially with our older relatives being couped up inside.

We love our 10.1″ digital photo frame, works great, we have it configured to go to clock display at night then turn back on in the morning. The display is bright and the photos look excellent. It is a bonus that it plays videos as well.

The ONLY downside I can see at this point is unavailability of replacement parts. I have a frame that fell off a cabinet (about 36″) and the display broke. The unit still works, it just has a cracked display, but I can’t get a replacement from Nixplay, nor can they provide info on contacting the screen manufacturer for a replacement display, or a part number. I 100% agree that isn’t a warranty issue, but this shouldn’t become E-waste due to lack of a screen. I am now working to source my own replacement display to fix it.

The first thing to say is that this is a marvellous product. It enables one to display photos that may have been lying dormant in computer files for many years. I was given one for Christmas a lady who had attempted to set it up for me. This gave me problems which caused me to consult the Nixplay helpline . I was worried that I might have been a nuisance to them. My worries were unfounded. Nothing was too much trouble. I was greeted with good old-fashioned efficiency and knowledgeable helpfulness, from a man called Lou, that I thought no longer existed. My frame was up and running beautifully in no time.
I would heartily recommend this product and this brand to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 39 From Our UsersThis frame looks great and works great, BUT if your family wants to share pictures, Nixplay REQUIRES (except with my workaround) that everyone makes a Nixplay account. YOU are the ONLY person who can email pictures to the frame unless everyone else first makes accounts. I HAVE A SOLUTION.

    1. Create a UNIQUE email on Outlook[dot]com (DO NOT USE GMAIL) that you will ONLY use for Nixplay frame. (e.g. grandma[name]frame[at]outlook[dot]com

I bought this for my 80 year old parent, so I set up the account, added the app to my phone (they don’t have smartphones) and sent my sister an invite to the app, assuming that is how she’d add photos. I didn’t realize that the app asks you to pair a frame with a serial number, which you can only do if you are in the presence of the frame with it hooked up to wifi. I thought the app would be the easiest way for her to add photos to the frame, but it looks like emailing them will be her best option, until we can actually get together at my parents and link her phone to the frame via wifi. (Post pandemic) Photos can easily be emailed from a smart phone, but to add from google photos it looks like I have to download and them email. Won’t be a big deal once we are only adding recent photos, but it’s a bit of a pain to add older photos that are no longer on my device. Overall I’m pleased with the device, I just wish the options for adding photos and what the app actually does were a little clearer.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWould have given 5 stars but for the way the App works.

Bought this for my 80yr-old mom who is isolated during Pandemic. I was impressed with the physical construction, the clarity/resolution of the screen, and the little magnet on the back of the frame that lets you hang the remote where you can find it again. The packaging (fwiw) is beautiful and top-notch, but you just end up throwing it away once you unbox. The flexible little leg on the back is very adjustable and works well.

It’s a bit expensive but I am overall pleased with the frame and would recommend, but someone needs to improve the way the app works. All my family found the app confusing. It should be easier to just invite people and not have confusion about whether they can go ahead and start sending photos to the frame. I ended up getting photos sent just to me on the app and which didn’t at first go to my mom’s frame.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWe got this for my grandmother for Christmas. I am very happy that I had it shipped to me so I could do the set up because I think it may have been too much for her. She has an iPad and uses it well, for reference. I shopped around and looked at all of the frames that are similar. I wanted one that didn’t need everyone who wanted to share a photo to have to download an app, so the email feature was really appealing. One thing I discovered is that even for people to send a photo by email they need to be approved through her account which requires all of them to make a Nixplay account and be accepted as a friend. It is very hard to find the “create an account” page on their website, and I didn’t want everyone to have to download another app. It’s quite a bit of coordination for my large family. But once they are all set up the photos are easy to share by email or through their website or the app. The photos are great quality and the frame is really great aside from that. She is going to love it.

Golden Review Award: 95 From Our UsersUpdate nach Weihnachten:

    Pro:
    – Gut gemachter, wertiger Rahmen
    – Gute Bildqualitt
    – Einmal eingerichtet, funktioniert das bertragen on Bildern hervorragend

I am impressed with this digital frame. It shipped really fast in secure packaging. I had it set up with pictures on it in less than 30 minutes. I can add photos through the website and they show up on the frame almost immediately. The picture quality is crisp and clear. The best part is that my elderly parents just have to walk up to it and it starts scrolling through the pictures. They were worried about not being able to work it and were relieved when I told them all they had to do was walk up to it and it would come on and when they walked away, it would go to sleep. We just had to set it in an out-of-the-way area since the motion detector is fairly sensitive. All in all – it was the perfect gift for my parents!!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMeine Oma sehe ich nicht sehr oft.
Internetanschluss! Deshalb geprft was Sie aktuell zahlt und was ein Internetanschluss kostet.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our Users***UPDATE (12/11/2020): I am updating this post following an e-mail from Nixplay customer service which identified the issue I was having as being due to “a recent version of the Google Camera App”. According to the Nixplay rep, they have now updated their software to fix this issue. Unfortunately, we had already returned the frames, so I cannot test this fix. However, I am changing my overall rating from 2 to 4 stars, since this “major oversight” turned out to be a minor glitch that is supposedly resolved and shouldn’t be a problem for others.***

    Original review continues below.
    ************

My wife and I purchased two of the these frames with the intent of keeping one for ourselves and gifting one to my in-laws so that we could share photos of their grandkids with them. I decided to open ours and set it up first, then set up the in-laws’ frame in advance. I never got to theirs. I had a relatively poor experience with these due to their limitations, and ended up returning them both.

    TL;DR VERSION:
I uploaded photos from my phone (Google Pixel 4XL) into the Nixplay app, which indicated they were successfully uploaded and showing on the frame, but the actual frame would not show my photos. Eight (8) days of back-and-forth with customer service to identify this issue. Turns out, the photos taken from my cell phone were too high of resolution for the frame to display. Their solution is to use a third-party app to reduce my photo sizes before uploading…adding an annoying step (or steps) every time I want to add photos. Not worth the price tag, in our opinion, so we returned the frames.

Unrelated to my issue, but you should also know that for anyone to share photos to your frame, they are required to create a Nixplay account through which they can send the photos. I.e., they cannot send photos via email without setting up their own account. This may not be an issue for others, but it is for me, so make your own decision there.

    FULL VERSION:
First, I gave this frame 2 stars instead of just 1 because despite our issues, there are some good things about this frame, that shouldn’t be overlooked. Overall, the hardware is nice. The frame itself has a very modern, sleek design and seemed to be of good quality. The pictures, when displayed, were clear. The motion sense and scheduling features were nice and functioned as-expected as well. No touch-screen or physical buttons on the device, but a remote control, which has a built-in magnet that will work on the back of the frame (though only in one spot very well), was a nice touch.

The app itself was a little less than intuitive, although not bad. Adding photos was a multi-step process (first add to album, then add album to frame). I was a little confused at first (in that I wasn’t entirely sure if I did it correctly), but figured it out pretty quickly without having to consult the manual. I suspect most people would be able to handle this similarly.

Now, getting into the issues we had, and although it was mainly one thing, I consider it a big oversight on Nixplay’s part.

There two main ways to upload photos. For simplicity within this review, I’ll refer to these as “direct upload” (directly uploading a photo from a phone into the app/frame) and “cloud sync” (linking / syncing a cloud service, such as Google Photos, to the app/frame).

I really like the cloud sync function. I used a couple Google Photos albums with our frame and it worked great. The process to connect my Google Photos albums was quick and easy, and the photos showed up almost immediately. Assuming the link with other cloud services works as well, this is probably the best feature.

Where the cloud sync worked flawlessly, the direct upload from my phone into the Nixplay app turned out to be a terrible experience. The process to upload a photo from my phone to the app itself was actually relatively quick and easy. The app indicated that all my photos uploaded from my phone (a Google Pixel 4XL – 12.2 MP camera, 4032×3024 pixel resolution) had successfully uploaded into the app/Nixplay cloud storage, and upon assigning to our frame, also indicated that the photos were showing on the frame. A look at the frame itself proved otherwise. No matter what I did, the frame would not show photos that were direct uploaded.

I searched through the manual and online to find help for this issue. After trying/checking a few common errors and coming up short, I reached out to customer service. For their part, customer service was very friendly and patient. They also required patience on my part, as it took eight days to resolve the issue, frequently with 1-2 days between our back-and-forth e-mail conversations. It ultimately took customer service requesting my account login credentials to troubleshoot for them to identify the problem: my phone’s photos were of too high resolution for the 1200 x 800 pixel display.

Now, at first this seems reasonable, but here’s the problem: nearly every display (computer screen, phone, tablet, tv, etc.) that I’ve ever used will automatically resize a photo to fit the display screen, regardless of original size (for example, I often use my 4032×3024 pixel photos as background on my phone and computer screens, both well under that resolution). This is so common that I, and even Nixplay’s own customer service, didn’t think about that being an issue throughout over a week of troubleshooting.

Once the resolution size issue was identified, Nixplay’s solution was to use a third-party app to resize all my photos before uploading to the Nixplay app.

The whole intent of this device is to quickly and easily share photos — to our frame and the one to be gifted to the in-laws — from our phone’s photo album (which these days is the primary camera). If the frame can’t handle standard photos from a cell phone without the need for the user to take the extra step to edit photos every time they want to upload, than what’s the point? To me, this was more cumbersome than it’s worth.

This issue was by far the most problematic, but an “honorable mention” for disappointing limitations is that in order for someone else (family, friend, etc.) to share photos to your frame, that person is first required to create their own Nixplay account, even if they don’t have a frame themselves. They cannot just send an email to your frame (via a personalized, unique email address) without having created their own account. I assume this also means they can only send the photos by uploading them to their Nixplay account first, via the app or website. This may not be a problem for some, but to us it was a big annoyance and we would never want to ask all our family members and friends to create an account and/or download an app that they don’t use themselves.

We ultimately decided to return both the purchased frames in preference for a brand which did not have the limitations of the Nixplay “Smart” frame. For the price of this frame I expected better and am happy with our decision to return these and go with an alternate brand.

After doing a lot of research on different digital frames, I purchased this frame in May 2020 for my Mom. I love that the app makes it easy to load pictures for her (we live in different parts of the US). I liked my Mom’s frame so much that I asked for one for my home for Christmas. I also purchased a couple to give as gifts for other family members this holiday season. It’s the BEST gift especially if you take the time to set it up and pre-load pictures. It’s much less likely to sit in a box that way if you’re giving it to a less tech-savvy member of the family. Oh, and I also appreciate that I don’t have to pay a monthly membership for the app and that the “plus” subscription is only necessary for additional benefits. I know this isn’t a cheap frame, but in my opinion it’s really worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersI think someone else mentioned the 16:9 aspect, which means you have to do a fair bit of editing unless you shoot most pics on phone. I think the 10 inch version is the smallest you should get – anything smaller and I don’t think it would make a good centrepiece for your photos.

I actually bought it to have some pics of family members near me during lockdown 🙂 Like I say, the 10 inch in portrait mode is sufficient. I’d probably prefer larger ideally.

Usage is ok. Connecting to Google Photos isn’t super obvious but you could read the instructions I suppose but I figured it out eventually. Pictures display quite well (even lowish res pics from phone) and the stand is nifty. I think it’s expensive for what it is but that’s the price of a reputable brand I guess.

In summary, now that it’s up and running it’s great but it’s not a bargain.

I bought the 13.3 inch frame to replace the 10 inch frame I’d had for years. The 10 inch frame had a blob of pixel degradation in the middle of the screen that made for a pale yellow circle in all the photos.
The 13.3 inch frame is great because it is bigger, and of course it doesn’t have burned out pixels. But, I find that its resolution is less? It is less vibrant in color and clarity, especially when viewed from any angle that’s not directly in front of it. Adjusting the brightness does not improve it (the default brightness was already 92%) and the only other control is adjusting individual RGB settings, which I’m not going to do. I moved the 10 inch frame to my office, so I still see it everyday, with the same photos that are displayed on the 13.3 inch frame. The 10 inch is more vibrant color than the new 13.3 inch frame.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this for 60+ yr. old mom as a Mother’s Day gift. I was really impressed with the overall picture quality and the device’s ability to flip pictures correctly. Set up was pretty painless and the remote was a great added bonus. Parents aren’t very tech savy, but Dad likes to tinker with new things, so he’s excited to send Mom random pictures via the frame. There is an app and website. Both allow you to upload pictures and create new slide shows and albums. All the kids and grandkids have downloaded the app and were added as “friends” so they can send pictures to the frame. Though, I’m still not sure if I/parents will have to manually add them to the slideshow. I set this frame up before gifting so it would have some pictures pre-loaded and would be easier to use. I used the website to upload the pictures thinking it would be much faster. My only real complaint is the amount of time it took for the pictures to appear on the frame. I pre-loaded about 147 pictures and it took the frame a little over an hour to receive them.
I purchased another similar frame by a different company for the in-laws and that one was MUCH faster at uploading the pictures. About 197 pictures in about 15 minutes. The other frame had a lot of extra options that i knew my mother-in-law would enjoy and use–like music, weather, podcasts, etc.
There is no USB option for this frame, so everything must be done over wi-fi. It even plays videos! Overall, I am impressed with the ease of use and display. I wish it included a few more options and was a little faster with the upload, but Mom was super impressed with this gift, especially since she can get photos sent over from anywhere the kids and grandkids are.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAm Bilderrahmen selbst konnte ich bisher keine Fehler finden.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersGreat product and really straightforward to setup. Motion sensor has a perfect range for my living room (approx 3m) which means I don’t have to turn it on/off. With the app there is very little need for the remote but good to have. Only small gripe is the app allows a max 100 photos upload at once via my phone camera rollout. However anything over 50 images it seems to crash the app and photos are not uploaded to the frame. The ability to share ‘playlists’ with others in the household is a great feature allowing multiple people to add photos.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersPicture quality is an order of magnitude better than our old photo frame. The one negative and the reason we did not give it 5 stars, is that you can’t preview how the photo will display. Many photos display cropped ie without top and/or bottom of the photo. Trying to correct that you have to reconnect to a computer, resize the photo and hope it is better as you still can’t preview.

Golden Review Award: 42 From Our UsersReally like this
It’s perfect as an easy solution for uploading photos to a frame in your own house – or for another relative
I live away from most of my relatives and it’s a great way to keep updated and in touch
Really easy to set up and use
To set up initially you have to be in the same room and have wifi
Once set up you can be hundreds of miles away and submit photos easily

There is no cost yet but there does seem to be an subscription option if you use up the cloud server allocated space
I’ve got three to four 15 second (the Max) videos and maybe 50 photos uploaded and only using 1% of the free space so far though

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersBought as a gift for parents. The frame itself looks beautiful, a good size and love the fact you can place it on the wall or tabletop. Easy to set up and the ability to update remotely makes this frame stand out from the crowd. Because of this feature my parents can just sit back and enjoy the photos while we upload the grandchildrens adventures throughout the day. It means they never miss anything. We love it so much I think we will be getting one for our house.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNice digital photo frame with modern functionality. The software would benefit from some AI processing which could be used to work out the the most appropriate transition for a photograph using either fill, fit, pan etc. My personal opinion is that it’s priced a little too high.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGot one for my father who doesn’t like anything electronic except his Tivo. This Nix album was a Christmas gift hit. I set it up. It took some time. If there is anything I would rate as lacking it is the instruction manual. Something this simple to use should be really, really simple to make an 1 page instruction manual that makes startup easy and simple. It took me more time to figure out than I expected but once I sat down and played with it I got it. Then after explaining to my sisters how to populate pictures it took them some time and in the end I had to give them the ID and password to log on, Not sure if that is the way it should be or not but that’s what we are doing. Now every day my father gets new pictures added to his frame by one of his kids, and he does nothing but looks at pictures. Definitely the hit of Christmas gifts. And really easy once you figure it out. Nix offers a toll free number to call at any time for assistance in startup. They could probably save a lot of support time if they just worked on improving the directions for this really simple to use device. I’d give it a 4.5 because of the issue with directions but the unit is so useful, such a great device for my father I have to give it a 5.

The only feature I wish the frame would have is a motion detection to turn on. Otherwise, it was a great present for my parents to share family photos. It was easy to set up and connect to wifi.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersUpdate! We finally did get this working properly. You need patience and there is a lot of bad process to get it working. Eventually we got it right and have an email people can send photos to. WE STILL CANNOT ADD VIDEO VIA MAIL. Its just a pain to get right, but below was my vent going through this process lol.

    …..
So annoyed at this product. You have to use an app to set it up… fine, I can understand that in this age. But the process to get anyone other than yourself to share photos is madness. This is for my boyfriends parents. Not tech savvy as most of the recipients of this are. The family lives far away, several groups of children and grandchildren. So we assume we have an email we can share with them to send photos… nice and simple right? No! First we need to ask them for email addresses then invite them. I was a test and the email I got hours later was so vague, it’s not just an invite link. I had to create an account and download the app. All it states is to use the same email in the signup and you’re good. Well…. wrong. When I sign up it asks me to pair with a frame. Well I don’t want to pair with a frame, I am just here to accept an invite. Nowhere is that stated or confirmed. On my boyfriends app it says I haven’t accepted the invite. All and all… this is too much. And I am a UX specialist for web apps. If I am missing something because I need to research it. That’s a FAIL. We HAD to use a desktop computer to get access to further settings that allow for automatic invite requests. It’s not even on the mobile app. We will try and get this to work but if you’re having multiple people send photos who are not tech savvy and don’t want to download unnecessary apps… not for you.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersVery happy with it. Simple to use. Fairly easy to upload. When wall mounting a small grove would ensure it mounted flush, as it is not ideal. Would certainly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery simple to set up, lots of storage, my mum loves it, all the 1000’s of photos she’s taken of the family over the past 20 years now play on a loop in our living room!

Golden Review Award: 340 From Our UsersI have now purchased my 6th digital frame. I have given them to each of my children’s families and they are a prized possession. Each family has commented that it is a wonderful gift to be able to see daily those they love as well as remind themselves of the many choice experiences they have enjoyed in life.
The frames are very intuitive but this time I wanted to give one as a gift to my 90 year old father that was already full of pictures but also wanted him to be able to control it after the gift was given. I didn’t know how to do this but the tech support from Nixplay was incredible. Tom helped me set it up with clear directions and stayed with me until I was able to do it. The service was incredible. Not only was I able to get through to them easily but
Tom talked me carefully through each step. I would highly recommend this as a gift to yourself as well as those you love. Thanks TOM!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersEasy and quick to start up the frame only disappointing is it takes long to download photos and videos as it takes 100 photos per download and 10 videos at a time

Golden Review Award: 623 From Our UsersI ordered the previous version of the Nix’s 13″ and wasn’t thrilled with the display. It was an LCD like monitors from 10 years ago. After doing a bunch of research and digging around, I found this one and ordered to compare. Night and day difference (keep in mind, I’m a photographer). It seems to be a great purchase so far.

FWIW, customer support has been excellent up to this point! Highly recommended.
