NutriBullet 1059 Balance 9 Piece with Smart Nutrition Sensor and Bluetooth Technology, Black, 36.6 cm*40.0 cm*18.7 cm
NutriBullet Balance
Balance your NutriBlasts with the clever built in scales. Simply choose a recipe from the app, and add each ingredient without even measuring! The intelligent app works with the scales and will tell you when to stop and move on to the next ingredient. No more time consuming weighing or guessing how much a cup of bananas is!
NutriBullet Balance is your new, personalised, smart nutrition system that does all of the thinking for you.
With the app you can see exactly what you’re making as you make it. As you add each ingredient the app instantly shows you the calories, the fat, total carbs, fibre and protein in your NutriBlast. Then all you need to do is screw on the blade and blast off! You can even put a glass on the Balance Base, pour in the amount of a NutriBlast you want to drink and watch as the app calculates calories, carbs, fibre and protein in that portion alone!
It’s so easy to use. The Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet automatically connects to your NutriBullet Balance and with a few taps of the app you can see a personalised selection of recipes. There are hundreds to choose from and you can customise the recipes to meet your specific tastes and wellness goals.

I was impressed by the performance of the NutriBullet 1000 that my friend has but the NutriBullet Balance takes the performance to a new level. The built-in scales make making smoothies and cold soups absolute simplicity. The app is quite entertaining to use and I like the fact that you can add your own recipes.
I expect there are times when you want gram-by-gram precision, but this is generally too smart and overly engineered. Getting measurements right in the beginning is definitely helped by the balance facility, but after a while you kind of know what looks right. For this reason I’m not massively excited by the balance part. I used the NutriBullet recipe app with my old bullet and didn’t ever think there was a missing function. I loved it for what it was, and this is no different. I whizzes up a smoothie from fresh or frozen fruit effortlessly, and the sip lids make them extra portable, e.g. for taking to work.
The biggest frustration I have with this and my previous bullet is with cleaning around the seal. Despite the instructions saying not to remove the seal, I noticed mine was discoloured so I removed it to examine it further. What I discovered was a collection of life forms under the seal that had began to take over. I now remove and clean the seal every single time I use it. Maybe I misunderstood the instructions?
I’ve been using this blender for some time now and have only now come to write the review.
I like this blender because it works. Also, it’s very easy to rinse and clean and disassemble and reassemble. The biggest ‘feature’ of this is the app which allows you to use recipes, learn the nutritional value of the food being added and other gimmicky things… It’s quite interesting but really, who has time in the longer run… Just blend my food already…
I’d recommend this as it’s of quality construction and works well, consistently so. The app is just a feature, but more of a gimmick.
I use the NutriBullet Balance every day to simply make delicious Smoothies. Easy to use and easy to clean.
Before purchasing this item, I would advise would be purchasers to check online to see if their iphone, ipad etc is compatible before trying to download the nutribullet balance app. After many unsuccessful attempts to download the app, I found that my ipad 2 was too old so I ended up buying a second hand iphone. You can use the machine without the app but it basically becomes a blender without any nutritional information.
Once the app was downloaded, I was able to connect to the machine with my Bluetooth enabled phone and also could access the recipes. I soon found that actually unless you are fully committed and have the time to go shopping for the ingredients it would be best to buy the cheaper model without Bluetooth etc. So many of the recipes use pea powder which I have never heard of but apparently it is very high in protein and there are a lot of ingredients to buy if you follow the recipes. At the side of each ingredient, information is shown which summarises why that is good for you. You can make up your own recipes but everything has to be weighed so time consuming.
It is a very clever but noisy machine, well made, easy to clean and easy to use and takes very little room on the worktop. Like my old blender it needs a liquid to be added to the ingredients before it can be blended. However, there is no dial so you can’t adjust the speed and therefore I feel you don’t have the same control. It can be used for smoothies, dips, making deserts, soups etc and it does the job well but the blending is no better than other models.
If you have plenty of time and want to know exactly what nutritional value is in the food you have blended then this is for you and there are hundreds of recipes you can access with the app but if like me you just want to keep everything simple buy a basic model.
NutriBullet’s are excellent products generally and this one is no exception. As expected, very good build quality with a quality, high power motor. Very easy to assemble and use, with minimal fuss.
As per normal, if you just want your smoothie, it’s as simple as chucking in your ingredients, pushing the button and job done. This one has a lot more bells and whistles though, for those truly obsessed with getting in to the detail of their diet. It’s not rocket science, but with the built in scale and Bluetooth function to allow you to synchronise with the app, you can then easily measure the component parts of your smoothie to track your nutritional intake each day.
Admittedly the app isn’t perfect, and a bit fiddly, but it does do the job. Other slight downsides are it’s fiddly to clean around the blades perfectly, and if you have any leakages in to the base, it can then go through to the motor. On top of that it’s up in the high range of cost for this type of product, but given the additional features and build quality, it’s not over-valued.
My daughter has used nutribullets for some time now and I have even been known to give it a spin (as it were) occasionally – though I do prefer a slow juicer
Nutribullets are excellent machines – easy to use, easy to clean and durable
This is no exception and, treated as another model, more than satisfies, but this has the selling point of being “smart”
A complete misnomer (as usual), if it were smart it would know when you wanted a smoothie, what flavours you fancied, get everything out of the fridge/freezer – well, you get the idea
What they mean is that there is an app available which connects with the machine and built in scales via Bluetooth and leads you through the selected recipe etc., unfortunately the app is not too well written and a touch buggy – this might be updated at some point and I hope it will.
In the meantime it remains a very good machine and I’ve marked it as such
We are massive Nutribullet fans. We had the previous one for a couple of years before it filed, but only after A LOT of use. If you have never used a Nutribullet be prepared for a bit of noise, like a rocket taking off! Once you used to it it isn’t so bad.
This set comes with all you need for smoothies both in the home and out and about, there is something nicely robust about the containers.
This has the option of using an app which we did try but to be honest we are happy just to bung in the ingredients and get on with it rather than worrying about calories etc. As long as put in a range of veg and not too much fruit you’ll be getting heaps of vitamins so just get in the habit of a daily blast.
Great product.
The Nutribullet is an amazing bit of kit. Easy to use, great results. And I recommend it as a purchase to anyone. Fast, easy to clean, powerful…the results are top notch. Go and buy this now. You won’t be disappointed.
So why only 4 stars?
The answer is simple: they have tried to add an app. Why? Because everybody else has one? It’s fiddly, buggy and hard to use.
Without the app, brilliant!
With an improved version of the app, brilliant!
Right now… brilliant, except for the app.
Get it sorted, guys! You make a wonderful product. Just make sure the app lives up to the hardware…
I have given this 4 stars but if I were rating it as a simple nutribullet that was a bit cheaper it would be 5 stars. The bullet is amazing. I’m using it at work in the mornings for a post workout breakfast smoothie for before I get started. I mix up frozen fruit, huel powder, protein powder and plant milk to create a yummy shake to get me started. It makes quick work of the frozen berries (sometimes I add in ice cubes too) and everything is blended nice and smoothly. It’s fairly easy to clean and the flip lid is great and I can happily drink it while doing other jobs. The flip lid kind of clicks in place so I can throw it in my bag and not worry about it leaking. The 12000 watt motor is very powerful and makes easy work of whatever ingredient I’ve thrown in. The problem is that the rest of the functionality I don’t really need. I already use MyFitnessPal for tracking nutrition. However, I gave the app a go. I downloaded from the Apple App Store on to my iPhone and my iPad. Pairing through Bluetooth was easy enough and functionality like the scales worked fine. However, I didn’t particularly like the app and I’ve went back to MyFitnessPal. The app is a nice idea and I’m would imagine someone who doesn’t already use a similar app might find it more useful. But for me all I really want it a top notch bullet which is what you get here. The app and Bluetooth are just gimmicky extras for me but others might appreciate them.
This is a stylish bit of kit, very well designed. It comes nicely boxed and is easy to set up. It’s great for people on the go – simply attach the cup with the flip top lid, Chuck in what you want and press a button. It blends your ingredients quickly and effortlessly and you can just grab the cup and go
It’s all very easy. What’s not so easy is cleaning it which can be a right pain, especially cleaning round the blades. The same can be said though for any similar product although on some machines you can remove the blades making it a bit easier. The main selling point with this unit is the Bluetooth function and the app. To be honest I found this a bit gimmicky. You can get recipes on the app but you can just do this online easily too. What is handy is that the machine measures how much of each food you put in and gives you exact nutritional info. This is great if you’re obsessed with your diet, but really I’m happy just to put stuff in very approximately.
There are cheaper offerings from both nutribullet and other brands and really unless you are taking this 100% seriously I’d just get one of those. The app, smart sensor and Bluetooth are handy but really not essential
