This blender is very powerful and will cope with most things without issue. The motor is powerful but seems to not be ventilated properly at low revs under high stress (such as when blending frozen fruit). If you want to make a frozen smoothie, it would be best if you add the fruit in small batches so the motor always spins at a comfortable speed and keeps itself cool, otherwise it will burn itself out as has happened to us. Overall I give it 5 stars for the price and capability, but if you need something that will work no matter what you throw at it.

This Philips blender looks professional and expensive and makes my humble kitchen look better.
Out of the box, you get a tall, serious-looking piece of kit, comprising a large base unit, with a tall glass jug on the top. The device is excellent for smoothies, ice cream, and more.
Great simple settings – the best thing is the quality of the product – it’s so sturdy and heavy – everything clicks and feels solid.
It is certainly powerful! It cuts through frozen food with ease.
It will make soups and purees and smoothies, of course, and will swirl everything around the top to bottom so you don’t end up with lumps.

    Easy to clean and maintain.

    Highly recommended!

At the full price of nearly 100 and fifty quid this is around fifty quid more than our previous one but even at the full offer price would say the extra is worth it – slightly bigger capacity but also just a much sturdier and more substantial unit with kind of quality you expect fro Philips. More importantly it’s more powerful and therefore much more effective and efficient/quicker with blending everything very thoroughly, and most impressive with ice, which our previous always struggled with. The two tumblers are a nice extra and at the current offer price of around a hundred would say it;s a real bargain and definitely recommend as super pleased with it!

So happy with this blender it’s just what I needed for my daily smoothies. Its uper easy to use although there are instructions you don’t really need them. It looks good in my kitchen I like the design. It’s quite hardy I’ve also made smoothies with nits and it blended them easily. It’s so easy to wash too and such good value for money. I reccomend this to anyone needing a new blender. Thankyou so much.

This blender is really useful and easy to use in the kitchen. It is really powerful which means I can make smoothies, milkshakes, and sauces in seconds. The result is great because the food I want to blend is blended to a smooth texture with no hard bits – just perfect.

The box also includes 2 additional tumblers that are shaped like bottles. These are really great if I am making a drink because I can blend fruits in the bottle I can drink them from. This really reduces the amount of washing up. Also, these bottles come with lids so I can take the drink with me out of the house!

Each tumbler and the blade of the blender are easy to clean which also eases life in the kitchen a lot.

I really love this blender and I will definitely continue using it in my kitchen in the future.

A quantity blender by Philips. This Pro blender gives 50% finer blending compared to standard blenders. We use this to make smoothies and milkshakes and so far we are really pleased with it. Its easy to use so my kids can use it too without needing help. I use the frozen smoothie bags of fruit with this blender and add juice and it blends perfectly. My son loves using this to blend ice to make slushies too.
This also comes with 2 tumbler flasks which hold 600ml each. Perfect for protein shakes or smoothies on the go. I can’t believe how quick this blender works and drinks are done in less than a minute. I can’t wait to use this for cocktails in the summer. The jug holds 1.8l so you can get plenty from one blend.

This is a hefty and solid blender made from fantastic materials all around, and it comes from a great company known for quality products. It arrives in a solid cardboard box, with each piece protected with a plastic covering and everything separated using moulded cardboard inserts. Inside the box you get the blender motor unit, the main blending jug and lid, a scraping spatula and two smaller drinking containers that can be attached to the blender to create your favourite beverage directly into the drinking container which can be quicker and produce less mess to clean up and save you the hassle of trying to scrape a thicker drink into a cup.

The main blender style container is made from very thick glass which is a very premium feeling change from my other blender which is just the standard thin clear plastic. This does of course mean that the fully loaded ingredient glass jug will be fairly heavy, so if weight is a concern due to strength or dexterity issues for say an elderly user, you may want to go for something more lightweight.

I personally love the weight and sturdiness of this blender’s heavy build, as it gives a reassuring feeling in regard to the quality and durability of the product. Everything is easy to hand wash, and the blades disconnect from the bottom of the jugs with a threaded connection, meaning you can easily separate everything for cleaning and reach up into the bottom of the glass jug to give it a wipe if you are cleaning it manually. The other trick for cleaning basically any blender is to rinse it out and blend some soapy water in the jug for a bit, and the blending action will essentially clean the inside really quickly and easily.

The provided pair of plastic drinking containers that attach to the blades of the blender are okay, but the drinking cap that you screw onto them is a little awkward and doesn’t make drinking thicker shakes and smoothies easy. The containers are also taller than wider and will have a tendency to tip over at the slightest nudge, which is fairly inconvenient and makes me want to decant the contents into a better container which is less cumbersome. They are good though if you want to reduce clean-up and only need to blend a smaller amount as opposed to getting the larger glass jug dirty for a single portion. Also, thanks to having two of them you can in theory just rinse off the blade between jugs and produce two completely different flavours of smoothie or shakes which can be good as well.

Compared to my budget blender I’ve used for the last few years, this thing is a monster compared to it in both size and features. My biggest use for blenders is for making Frappuccino, shakes and smoothies which involves blending down ice to just the perfect size and this thing performs the task twice as fast and does a much better job producing more consistent sized pieces of ice.

No issues recommending this fantastic product from Phillips if you are in the market for a top quality blender. The only reason this is a four star from me is because of the not so great tumbler lids that they’ve included, the blender itself is stellar without a fault.

Amazing. Have had cheap one in past and this has showed me why you need to buy a better brand. It blends everything and I love that it make smoothies and you drink it out of the container that it’s blended in. Less washing

This Philips HR3655/01 Blender is well-made appears to be decent quality. 1400W motor is super powerful; the rotations are 35000 per minute, impressive. I don’t need to crush the ice separately; I add them with the ingredients, and blades do all the work.
The smoothie’s texture and taste are way better than other blenders that I was using.

What I like about this is that it comes with two 600ml tumbler jars. So once I blend the smoothie, I keep one for myself and another I give to my son to school with a smoothie for breakfast and then he can rinse it and refill with water.

It comes with the recipe book, but I don’t use it as I found many good recipes online; my favourite is berry blast.

I have been using this machine for a month now, without any issue. The quality is good; the quality matches the price and offers good value.

I hope this review helps you to make a purchasing decision.

This is a superb high speed blender from Phillips that offers versatility and great performance.
The pack includes the high speed blender,2 smoothie travel flasks and an instruction/recipe booklet.
The blender packs some real punch and blends through ingredients with ease, including tougher stuff-like ice cubes.
This can be used to make fresh smoothies, delicious mikshakes and sauces amongst other things.
You can experiment and create your own mixtures. Two great milkshake concoctions that I have enjoyed through this include milk, melon, banana and fresh mint and the other being milk, avocado and fresh mint.
The combinations for smoothies and milkshakes are lieterally limitless.
Great machine – more than happy to recommend.

Having used varous different blenders in the past, it is very clear that this has been designed and built remarkably well, the blender has such high premium design it feels like a rolls Royce. The overall product is very aesthetically pleasing, and little can be said to fault it in this area. The blender can be used intuitively. There are a total of 3 buttons and 1 large knob. The buttons contain a large P for pulse, a picture of some fruit for smoothies and a picture of ice cubes for ice. The knob allows you to manually control the speed. The first thing that was very apparent was that the blender is very powerful 1400 watt is more powerful than most blenders. In most blenders, this would cause a large amount of vibration and noise, however, the rubber feet as well as the overall weight of the Problend 6 keep this in check, leaving it stable and wobble free. This stability does come with a slight downside as the blender and jug are quite heavy, especially when full which could be troublesome for some users but this just shows how well this is built. As the rubber feet are suckered it could sometimes be slightly awkward to pick up for some people. Although this problem was eased with the addition of grip holes on either side of the blender. In terms of actual functionality, again I was impressed with the ease and speed at which it was able to blend whatever I threw at it. Having made both soup and smoothies and iced deserts, the Problend 6 was able to puree multiple items in a matter of seconds. The texture of the blends was noticeably finer/smoother than I have experienced before. The performance is excellent you can virtually blend anything within seconds.
There is also a spatula included that can be used to solve any problem like items getting stuck in the jugs. Overall, this is an excellent product and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a powerful, high end stylish and reliable blender.

The second you get this Phillips blender you realise this is a quality piece of equipment just from the weight of the box! Once out and unpacked, you have a large blending jug and two smaller blend and go tumblers which are a good. The m Ian jug blender has incredible performance, not just in the smoothness of the blend, but I tried it to make some crushed ice alcoholic milkshakes and it was genuine next level, resort quality! The blades are ruthless and will demolish anything that goes in. In comparison to the bullet blender we have this far exceeds in terms of performance and drink quality. The tumblers are dishwasher safe and the jug rinses really easily so there’s no fuss or messing round either.

A premium price product that is worthy of its price tag without a doubt!

Putting the smooth in smoothie! Quality blending from a well known company. This blender has presence! It screams quality with it’s rock solid build, finish and quality parts. This can proudly sit on your worktop. I’ve blended my lunch for work for years, to ensure I get healthy ingredients in my lunch. Always fruits of my choice, nuts of some sort and greens, then I add my powdered meal replacement. It’s just so convenient and saves so much time, and you know your having good fresh ingredients. My son a teenager, loves his fruit so he’s been using this for smoothies, he’s also mad for pancakes and has been enjoying making the mixture in this, and with a 2ltr capacity there’s plenty for everyone. The jug is a heavy, very thick glass affair with measurements on it. The 3d blades can be taken out of the jug and put into the included 2 Tritan tumblers for convenience to blend and go. Three settings on the dial, just turn on, press one of the flashing settings, then you control the speed by turning the dial, then turn to off when ready, giving total control. It’s a bit noisier than my current blender but it’s to be expected as it screams power, like I said it has presence, it would easily win a blender stare off! The app which accompanies this blender is brilliant, loads of recipes and ideas in the palm of your hand, there are also dietary specific recipes, gluten free and vegan etc. I’ve included photos of screen grabs from the app. The included recipe book is also very well laid out, making it so easy to follow, with very easy recipes. It has a spatula that goes in the lid to help stir thicker ingredients and if you don’t need that just use the cap which has measurements for adding liquid etc. Cleaning is easy just add some warm water and washing liquid then turn on for a bit, then rinse, simple. This cost the same as my older blender but this Philips Pro blend 6 is on another level with better capacity and control, and the finish and quality is excellent! If your into blending or thinking about one for smoothies, crushing ice or recipes, you can’t go wrong with this.
I hope you found this helpful, if you did, then hit the helpful button. Thanks

    Next level blending!

I have long been an admirer of products under the Philips brand. They are invariably well designed and manufactured to a consistently high standard, which is just the kind of reassurance you are looking for if you are spending a reasonable amount of money on something. This blender is no exception.

If you are only an occasional user of a blender, with yours spending most of its time tucked away in a cupboard, then you may wish to think twice about investing 124.99 in this particular model.
However, if your household is one that regular blends smoothies or makes its own soup, then this could be just the thing that you should be spending your money on.
And you don’t need to stop there, either. Keen bakers can use this when making cake batter and you can even use it to mash your potatoes for Sunday dinner.
This is a pretty versatile piece of kit that not only looks stylish and impressive, but that is powerful and robust too.
And, as if that weren’t enough, it is also pretty easy to get clean again afterwards.

Easy to recommend and I hope you find these insights helpful.

This is a powerful and well designed blender at a premium price. It cuts effortlessly through ice cubes and frozen fruit, is easy to clean and looks stylish. On the minus side it is quite bulky and takes up a fair bit of kitchen space compared to, say, a Nutribullet, but will probably last longer. A good buy if you are likely to be making lots of smoothies and blending soups etc.

Philips is well known brand and I have few of their products I have been using for years. This Philips HR3655/01 blender is strong and seemingly sturdy and very easy to set up and use. This has different speed levels, the lower levels is perfect for light liquids and fresh fruits and vegetables and higher levels for more solid or dense things. I managed to do my smoothie using frozen fruits and took few seconds with no issues and the cleaning process was a breeze. The glass jug is big enough to make plenty for the whole family to enjoy. It’s very powerful and makes perfect smoothies, frozen ice cream, aai bowls and much more.

I’ve given away my well-known braded smoothie maker as this is impressive.

The blending power is amazing, I tested by throwing in a few full bandanas, cored but full apples, lots of large chunks of ice and grapes (renowned for being hard to blend in other makes) and the 1400 W blended the whole mix with not large bits, made a very fine smooth drink.

Everything about the build says quality, the weight and the feel tells you where your money goes, think you get great value for money with a brand you can trust.

The capacity makes it great for the family or even those who live alone and like 1.8 litres of nice healthy drinks, found the jug filed both tumblers up nicely so can pop one in the fridge for later.

The great idea is you can use the small tumblers to make your smoothie

Marked down for the bottles provided, I like to take my smoothies on the go, the problem is the lids don’t open fully so bash my nose (don’t think I have a freaky big nose), so could not get a good drink so ended up taking the lids off when drinking.

Huge capacity but the provided drinking tumblers are not so great.

Exceptionally powerful. I have up until now been using an ancient blender to make smoothies & this one takes 1/3rd of the time. I almost blew up the last one trying to crush ice for cocktails and this one manages it without a problem. Handles frozen fruit for smoothies effortlessly. The ability to blend directly into the tumbler is great and is time saving, however be careful because the mechanism to unlock the tumbler from the unit once it’s finished is very close to the mechanism that unscrews the tumbler lid and if you were distracted you could easily end up with a blender and counter top covered with smoothie. Aesthetically very pleasing and the different modes all work very well. Exceeded all my expectations.

Philips HR3655/01 is a rather heavy duty blender/food processor that’s got its unique strengths as well as weaknesses. I have so far made smoothies, juices, pures and all sort from trying it out. Let me break it down for you.

The pros are clear – this is a powerful blender as you can tell from its chunky size. The jug is made of a thick layer of durable glass and feels heavier than most ones of those common home blenders. The range of modes you can choose from is wide as it is catered to all kinds of food preps you may fancy. The video attached in this review features the blender working while it is on the ice breaking mode. It wasn’t included in the filming but the power escalated shortly after the clip ends – to an impressive level. I found that very fascinating as I didn’t quite understand what it was doing at first. And to my surprise, it is effortless to clean. No matter how much of a mess the job leaves me with, I simply rinse it out with water and fill the jug in with warm soapy water, then switch it on to any working mode. It leaves the inside of the jug sparkling clean.

The cons that came with it are fairly obvious – it is rather noisy except for when it’s on the Light working mode. It’s also noteworthy that because the jug is so heavy it’s hard to pour the fluids out when a job is done. And here also comes my least favourite thing about this product – the ridges on the inner wall of the jug. This is perhaps a universal feature seen in majority of blenders but the ridges bother me so much especially when I need to scoop all the stuff out (which gets worse if you happen to make a lot of smoothies or pures). I can imagine, though, it might not be a problem if it was only intended to be used to make light liquids like juices.

That being said, this is still a high quality blender that is very reflective of the standard Philips delivers its products to. I would most likely recommend it to those who are seeking a blender and have an adequate budget.

I have another big name blender that I’ve used for making smoothies but I much prefer this! It feels really well made, the glass is nice and solid and it blends everything I’ve thrown into it with ease.
I make quite a lot of smoothies to make sure I’m getting plenty of fruit and liquids throughout the day (yes yes, sugar contents etc etc!). They’ve come out really smooth with everything being blended really fine.
I’ll definitely be getting another to gift to my mum who has been hinting she’d like a new one for a while.

Philips is a world-renowned manufacturer of technological products, with a pedigree for producing excellent items over many decades.

This is ostensibly a smoothie blender – and it’s great for that purpose, but it offers quite a bit more functionality beyond that.

It’s a big machine, is impeccably well-engineered, and it offers some very impressive blending power.

It can be set to run at different speeds, depending on what you wish to process, and can easily crush hard ice with its impressive ‘jaws’.

Cleaning is simple, and it comes complete with two drinking beakers.

    An awesome, well-built machine.

This is my first blender but I’ve used those of friends before. This one is IMPRESSIVE! It’s a solid, heavy unit with glass and metal; it says “quality”! It’s blade speed and torque is outrageous and it reduces objects to fine material with extreme ease. I tried some fruit and it delivered a magnificent smoothie.
The blender has one large container and 2 smaller portable containers so it will make drinks directly in the receptacles that you can take with you for later in the day; a good idea. It also has smoothie programs that alter the final product slightly, coarseness mostly, to taste; naturally there’s a speed control too. Washing it is relatively simple and not an irritation; the blades must be hand-washed but as I don’t use a dishwasher that will be just fine.
I want to try making hummus next!

I love this blender. At the moment I am using an ancient very small blender for my smoothies and an mixer for baking , I am pretty sure this blender will do all I need, It comes with 2 tumbles with lids and a little paddle. I used one of the tumblers to make a protein shake before I went for my workout and it was rapid and easy to use, I creamed butter and sugar and eggs and flour in the blender to try a sponge and it was nice and light. I mashed potatoes with garlic and of course butter and milk and they were delicious. I find the blender is very quick.I could have drunk the shake from the tumbler but it was a little thick for me.The spatial can be used to micxor to scoop the mixture. It comes with instructions but I would have liked some recipes specially for it. I find when I get new instruments I often have to adapt my recipes so it would have been nice to have a few to copy/adapt. The blender is easy to clean and there are picture instructions.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersEasy to use, easy to clean. Its blades are sharp and effective. The automaric programme for juices follows an efficient speed curve, which means it cuts the fruits into smaller pieces at slow speed first and then ramps up speed to produce a buttery smooth juice.

Replacement blades are sold on Philips web store for future proofing your purchase.

Cleaning is very easy: fill half with water and a single drop of dish washing liquid is sufficient. Then operate the machine for 10 seconds, remove the jar and rinse thoroughly. Once in a while the blades can be removed for deeper cleaning.

I’m glad to have chosen this nlender and I highly recommend it.

This is a great blender with powerful action. I love the automatic timer setting for making smoothies (my main use for the blender). It is also great for whipping up pancake batter, you just need to let it stand for a few minutes to let the froth settle.

    Cons
It fits snugly into the socket of the motor housing and won’t easily get knocked off. You just have to take a bit of care for the first week or so to ensure you don’t accidentally unscrew the jug from the blade assembly as you are removing it (not a mistake you will make twice). As mentioned, this isn’t an issue once you have used it for a week or so.

    Highly recommended

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersReplaced a very old blender – love this one! Very easy to clean, (it helps to have a rubber lid gripper to open the base). So far, it is blended everything to a foamy mouse and depending on what you’re blending it doesn’t separate for at least 24 hours. NB.the glass jug is pretty heavy (over 6LB when half full of water) and the lid is tight to remove – both of which might be a problem for some. One more thing – it’s nice and sturdy when operating – no need to hold it down! Very pleased with my purchase.

Very powerful blender, but a good variation from slow speed to fast. Glass jug is sturdy, holds a lot, and easy to clean. This was an update for my old Philips blender, and it’s a great upgrade. Fab to make smoothies or frozen cocktails.

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersWe have gone through a lot of blenders. A lot. We use them every day and they always break down. Usually the motor or the connection between the blades and the motor. We’ve probably had 5 over the last 3 years and got frustrated throwing cheaply designed machines in the bin. We decided to get a more durable option to save on waste and the annoyance of being without one while replacing yet another broken one. We looked at commercial blenders but they were well outside of our budget and reviews suggested still require a fair bit of maintenance.
We picked this Philips on the basis of good reviews from other users and good price and it has been absolutely brilliant. Manages motor heat on its own, handles ice and other stuff easily and has the useful smoothie button for when you’ve got 12 other things going on in the kitchen and can’t always watch the blender.
I wish we bought it ages ago.

Get this blender if you want reliability and ease of use.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersWe bought this after seeing lots of positive reviews online about this particular blender. The glass jug was a big selling point for us as well – what with all the negative awareness of the damages of plastic on the environment.

We use it for smoothies and soups, using it on frozen and fresh fruit. Using the smoothie button really does what you expect! It’s little program varies the speed of the blade and lasts about a minute as it brings the contents of the blender to a silky smooth consistency.

We’ve not really used it on anything else, not that there’s much else to use it on. Really well built so we hope this will be our blender for life. Really happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis blender is excellent – I’ve used it mainly for smoothies made from frozen fruit with apple juice, and the results are excellent.

The build quality is very good (the container is glass, and the buttons feel solid) and it sticks nicely to the worksurface via suction caps. The vessel is also fairly big which I like and it can blend ice (others lower in the range cannot).

Smoothies come out smooth, it’s easy to take apart… really nothing not to like (apart from it being at a premium price)

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI LOVE soup, especially for work lunches over the winter. But I HATE lumps in it. this is absolutely brilliant, blending the hell out of cooked veggies in just a few seconds and making the smoothest soup with ease. The jug is a really great size too, meaning you can blend a few portions at once. No more stick blender! There’s also a really nice little recipe pamphlet for smoothies we plan to explore in the coming months. I’ve had this blender for about a month, and unlike any other blender I have had – and I’ve had a lot – I cannot recommend this enough.

It looks professional and so far it has taken everything I have tried to blend including nuts and ice!

It’s noisy but blender isn’t. But the detachable blades and the ‘tank’ are really easy to clean.

    I absolutely love it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a powerful and efficient blender, which pulverising the ingredients for our family smoothies into smooth and delicious drinks like a dream. It is rather like the Russell Hobbs blender that we have had for a number of years, being of a similar size, in silver and black and with a stylish glass jug – which I have always preferred over plastic ones, even if it means that they are heavier to handle. The main difference you can see almost straight away (if you are looking) is that there are 6 parts to the blade section over our previous blender’s 2 prongs. The prongs are set at different points and different angles and so not only increase the number of blades blending the contents of the jug, but also improves the movement of the liquid within the jug, as it is propelled around, moving different parts into contact with the blades. The motor is powerful too – and you can hear it – so this isn’t one that you can quietly blend with whilst the rest of the family sleeps!

For the price, this is well worth it – quality product and amazingly smooth results.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI have been using this Philips Avance blender for several weeks now and cannot recommend it highly enough.

The blending function is excellent making short work of everything I have tried yet – including smoothies, soups and nuts.

The blender looks great – very professional looking – could be left out on the worktop.

A top aspect for me is the jug is dishwasher safe (it’s recommended to wash the blade by hand to preserve the blade).

The jug is large capacity which is great for a pot of soup.

Smoothies are a dawdle as the blades make short work of ice to give you a lovely cold and smooth smoothie.

This would make an ideal gift for a wedding, a foodie or smoothie lover.

    Highly recommended product.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAmazing! If you’re into pureed foods, soups, smoothies, etc. Which I am… Sometimes.

It’s very easy to use, essentially a plug and play with limited instructions to work. Once it’s all fitted together you can press and whizz. Great stuff.

Also has a safety switch, which for those like me who are somewhat stupid and don’t fit things down properly, genius. Absolutely genius.

It’s all neon and blue when it lights up. Strangely appealing to me! Not sure why

Comes in a massive box and is somewhat huge. Takes up kitchen side space, but not in a bad way, if you’re using it a lot.

Also takes apart easily enough to clean. Very simple and doesn’t take much brain space to put back together.

Yeah, I like it. It’ll be good for winter soups

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersUnbelievably i actually have a more expensive blender than this one but this is a much better blender in my opinion. This belnder has so much functionality its awesome. Its also a size that is much more compatible with a standard kitchen (our other blender is ruddy enormous)

The base looks like it wouldnt be out of place in a professional kitchen, its a lovely brushed metal effect rather than white plastic. I love the fact that the blender jar is glass, it makes it feel much more like a quality item. The aforementioned expensive blender has a plastic jar (i couldnt believe it, it just seems cheaper than glass). The base feels sturdy and has feet that mean it doesnt move when its in use.

The kit does include a plastic spatula that sits in the hole in the lid when in use, this is handy for when ingredients sit at the top of the belnded items but dont get mixed in. This saves you having to turn the blender off and poke the contents.

The blender blends smoothies really smooth, much more so than my old blender and as well as the expensive blender. If you use a blender a lot then id go for this one. It seems well made and has good functionality.

I love this machine. It is excellent for making soup, smoothies, batter, desserts or indeed anything that needs blending. The jug is quite heavy but that is because it is made of toughened glass. The base is heavy so that it doesn’t run around the work top. You can add ingredients through the hole in the lid and the stopper is also a small measuring pot. A small recipe book is included and we have already made the strawberry dessert. I believe the ideal recipe includes one third fruit, one third veg and one third liquid. It is rather noisy but very powerful. The only thing I am not sure about is the spatula. A very useful addition to any kitchen.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis blender is big, beautiful and sturdy. Unlike some kitchen devices that seem flimsy and easy to break, this bad boy means business. It manages pretty much anything you throw into it, is fast and efficient and does everything you might expect from a blender.
The book that comes with it is easy to follow, and will probably give you new ideas on recipes whilst explaining all the functions this blender is capable of. Not the most expensive blender on the market… but this is proof that expensive does not always mean better and I cannot imagine what more you could want from a blender. Cheaper ones exist too, though I think it is worth opting for this one because it feels…well, professional. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersA fantastic blender that is easy to recommend.

    Pros
    – High production quality – it feels really well made with a solid base, good buttons, and a hefty glass blending jug. Feels like it will last forever.
    – Superb blending – it can handle anything I’ve thrown at it – fruit smoothies and soups come out great (but you need to carefully moderate how long you blend for if you want a coarser finish), but you can also throw in raw vegetables and nuts with equally great results.
    – Large capacity of 2L – significantly more than many cheaper blenders.

    Cons
    – Not particularly easy to clean – the blades can’t go in the dishwasher (apparently to preserve their sharpness – a bit of an odd claim when my kitchen knives seem to make it through daily dishwasher cycles without any obvious impact on their sharpness) and the size and weight of the large glass jug means it won’t fit easily in many dishwashers. So best assume you’ll be hand-washing. That said, I think this applies to most other blenders so not really a reason to mark down, but to be aware.
    – The glass jug is heavy, really heavy when you have a litre or two of soup in there as well – those with weak arms should look for a blender model with a plastic jug instead.

This is a great blender. You have to ask yourself though whether you need this over the options out there. I have a Philips food processor complete with blending jug and blades, at around half the price of this unit. It also does a great job of blending for most purposes (although not as versatile as this one). This product is really for the blending enthusiast.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAlthough only designed for home use according to the manual, this blender is like something you’d see in a trendy caf. I was surprised by the sheer heft of the massive glass jug which weighs 2kg all by itself. The silver metal base is equally substantial. It doesn’t walk around or wobble when it’s running. One of the best things is the huge knob that switches the blender on and off and controls the variable speed of the motor (though I would have liked a slower slowest speed perhaps). At full blast it’s really fast. That knob really puts you in control. Within the knob are three buttons for quick access to pulse, ice crushing and smoothie making. For smoothies you can simply push the button and walk away — in this mode it switches off after two minutes, though of course you can blend for a shorter time to get more texture and fibre. I find 30 seconds about right. Ice is dispatched very quickly.
The lid has a thick rubber seal and simply pushes on. If you forget to line the flanges up with the jug handle, it’s very hard to get back off though. There’s a hole in the centre of the lid (for pouring in items while the motor is running like when making mayonnaise) and a neat mini measuring jug forms a plug when you don’t need the hole. You can also fit the included spatula into this hole to use during blending without taking the lid off, but I’m not convinced it’s that useful and is a sloppy fit.
As a blender I can’t fault it. The ‘3D’ blades work as advertised and it just powers through whatever you put in it. The claim about encouraging people to eat more fruit and veg definitely holds true for me. I’m hooked on smoothies now, and eat far more fruit than I did before. I just don’t like eating apples and pears and oranges in their natural state, but two minutes of chopping and blending and you have something any fruit-resistant kid or adult will gulp hungrily down by the gallon. I add cashew nuts (or chocolate buttons for a treat) to my smoothies, or avocado, ice cubes, courgettes, carrot even — with bananas or pears or oranges as a base you don’t taste milder veggies at all. Just use your imagination, or look in the better-than-usual booklet that has loads of recipe ideas. Almond milk or coconut milk makes a great liquid base, but this blender does such a good job you don’t need as much added liquid as you might expect.
On the whole I’m very impressed with this machine and I’m using it A LOT.

The ProBlend 6 high speed blender is another quality product from Philips and is somewhat similar to the very expensive Vitamix. The Philips may cost a bit more than some low-end blenders but from the outset you can appreciate the power from the 1400-watt motor.

The unit blends soups, crushes ice for granitas and makes some very good smoothies.

Philips suggest that you “cheat” a bit by adding vegetables to a sweet smoothie to get your kids to eat more veg. Philips suggest using one third fruit as a natural sweetener, one third vegetables and the final third liquid such as water, coconut water/milk or yoghurt. One such recipe is Strawberry with coconut milk, lime, red cabbage and carrot. It sounded weird to me but it did taste ok.

Other recipes to try are quick frozen desserts by adding frozen fruit to yoghurt with a spoon of honey as sweetener.

For quite liquid mixes the unit works well and also works well for thicker mixes in large quantities (serve 6). However when I tried to scale down the Avocado Pesto recipe for 2 people The paste was just too thick to blend as the mixture would not “fall” into the blades. There is a spatula to push stiffer recipes into the blade but because I had scaled back the quantities the spatula did not reach the food. Back to my mini chopper for smaller quantities.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPhilips is a premier brand with a solid track record and an excellent warranty and sourcing of spare parts. The build quality is what we have come to expect from Philips. Very solid and high quality components. The device is stainless steel, robust plastic and glass. I like the glass jar as it is less liable to scratch and become ‘cloudy’ as my previous blender did(albeit after nearly 20 years). The blades are detachable which makes proper cleaning possible with no bits trapped in hard to get to places. The variable speed in such a powerful motor is a blessing as I don’t end up with finely shredded stuff for everything. I have absolutely no complaints about this device. One caution is that for a small kitchen this is quite a big device by necessity due to its 2 liter jug. I have no hesitation in recommending this as a high quality device which should last almost forever.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI have tested a number of Blenders for the Vine programme and we also have the top of the range Vitamix to compare this Philips with. Firstly it feels well made. This is not the most expensive Blender I have tested, the Vitamix takes that prize, but for the price, it appears well made and very fast. The Vitamix is heavy and thick plastic, this blender is actually made from stainless steel and quality plastic. The container is glass, which is a drawback as it is heavy and could be prone to breakage. Having had a recent issue with another Philips item needing a part, I can say spare parts are easy to obtain but can be very expensive, compared with the original buy-in price. The blades are very sharp and do a very good job at chopping and blending.

Whilst this is not priced at the same level as the Vitamix this is 149 the Vitamix is 495, the differences are quite large. It does become very apparent why the Vitamix attracts a much higher price.

Firstly, this unit can be turned on and the speed goes minimum to maximum. It gets hot very quickly if you leave the motor running at Max. I really do not like this. The Vitamix has on/off, 1 to 10 speeds and a low and high pulse switch.

Secondly, this unit only blends. The Vitamix makes ice cream to soup, without the use of a heating element or freezer. Whilst the Philips could make ice cream, I would not trust the motor not to overheat. There is a thermal switch that kicks in if the Philips does get too hot. The motor on the Vitamix has a 7-year international warranty, whereas the Philips has a 2-year warranty.

Third, the Vitamix jug is a plastic composite which is indestructible. Making soup on a Vitamix is very easy and it gets very hot from the friction of the blades. The Philips jug is glass and I would suggest is more prone to breakage than the Vitamix.

Fourth, the Vitamix has many different speeds, the Philips has slow and fast blending.

In reality, the Philips looks the part, it appears to be well made and does a very good job at blending things like fruit and some vegetables. It is not in the same field as a Vitamix, but it is a fraction of the price. Compared to other blenders I have tried at 99 to 200 it offers good value. It’s not spectacular, but I would prefer to pay a bit more for this unit, than purchase any of the Chinese, non branded, Vitamix lookalikes at the 100 level. The quality of this unit exceeds anything I have tested from a Chinese non branded supplier.

The unit comes with very clear instructions and is very easy to use. You get the base, the glass jar, a spatula which can be used to push food items toward the blades. Just like the Vitamix, its easy to clean and works very well for a 1400 Watt motor. Overall I am happy to Recommend this Blender, so long as you just want a very good blender.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIf you like making smoothies for everyone, the HR3652/01 is the piece of equipment you’ll need. There’s a large 2 litre glass jug (although it only blends 1.8 litres), and 2 tumblers. There are four manual speeds, so it’s capable of unlocking more nutrients with an astonishing 350000RPM. I like the 3D blades which are easily washable (although apparently not dishwasher proof). It’s solid, ample and robust. Not sure about adding ice cubes though – I haven’t tried it.

I like Phillips products and Phillips is a global brand. However, it would be good if the literature contained with the blender was printed exclusively for the British market in English. Having a nice recipe book with the same recipe written in English, Spanish and various Far Eastern languages, for me, makes me not want to keep it. I just feel part of a global marketing exercise, not a customer.

That said, this is an excellent (if expensive) product. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersA blender in this price range should offer a whole lot more than your average blender, and this one does in every respect. The item is heavy, and comes very nicely packed in a colourful box. Out of the box, you get a tall, serious-looking piece of kit, comprising a large base unit, with a tall glass jug on the top. The controls are simple, and they work as you’d expect, so no pawing over the manual is necessary to get started. That said, it does quite a lot, so it is worth opening the manual to get the maximum benefit. The book is good by the way — clear and easy to follow.
It is certainly powerful! That price tag gets you something that will pulverize almost anything you put in it. It will make soups and purees and smoothies, of course, and will swirl everything around top to bottom so you don’t end up with lumps. It’s what your basic blender will do. Beyond the basics, it will happily convert ice cubes into crushed ice, and will do that automatically with its minute-long pulse mode. It will chop apple and other hard fruits, too. No problem. Unlike my cheapo blender, this one has yet to get itself jammed trying to blend stuff that’s too much for a weedy motor. This thing blends it, stands there waiting, and you can almost hear it saying, “Is that it? What else you got?”

The two litre jug is a big solid glass thing that looks like it wouldn’t break if you dropped it on the floor. It probably would break — it just looks the business. One thing though: the jug is heavy, so if you are not very mobile in the kitchen, you might this be a bit for you. It reminds me of the big old blender jugs that Kenwood used to make in the 1970s, but this one is right up to the minute.

There’s a spatula that is designed to fit the jug without reaching the cutting blades, and a colourful recipe book full of some pretty good recipes.

So, goodness me, how to sum up this gadget? Well, a gadget must earn its place in the kitchen. It’s a big blender, so it really needs to earn it, but this one does. It does what it does very well, and it’s easy to clean. It looks professional and expensive, and makes my humble kitchen look better. So, yes, it stays where it is, right in the middle of my kitchen worktop. Well done Philips. It’s a big YES for this one!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a very good blender designed to make people eat more fruit and veg. It has a sturdy glass jug which is quite heavy and three simple operating positions represented by icons; (Pulse; Ice and Drinks). The box says that the jug holds 2litres, it does but you can’t blend 2 litres, the capacity to blend is 1.8litres. The blender has a 2 year warranty. The blades are stacked in three positions and spin at 35000RPM. It works really well to puree soups and makes very smooth smoothies, sauces and juices. (It recovered a lumpy sauce that I made). There is a small recipe booklet included but it only shows you how to make drinks, Avocado pesto, peanut butter and gazpacho. Its a shame there aren’t more recipes in there. The blender has a safety cut out that stops you overloading it, it will stop and not work until you remove some of the contents.

The one thing that I really like about this is that the blades can be taken out to wash so you don’t have to fiddle about with a brush trying to get them clean in situ. You can put the jug into a dishwasher but Not the blades (says it will blunt them) The lid has a hole that can fit a plunger/spatula or a closed cap. Its a shame there are no other jugs included with this but you can purchase a tumbler and a grinder if you need to.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWow! This is a real powerhouse. Just check it out. It’s pretty much industrial class. Build is first class, stainless and decent looking plastic, with a super tough glass container. The blades are also clearly made to maximise chopping and blending effectiveness.

This is going to be great for making soup: way easier than my current stick blender. Which does remind me of the daft error I made with another rather expensive, but very nice, Jamie Oliver blender back in the day. I put hot soup into it to blend and the thing just shattered due to the pressure, all over the whole kitchen. I stared at it in disbelief, but trust me … I very soon believed when I had to clean the mess!! Anyway, take care. It wasn’t a design fault but more user error. These things are not cheap. No hot stuff.

So, in use I’m not sure it could be any easier. The instruction book is really clear. The jar fits easily and also comes apart easily for cleaning. Everything else is simply wipe clean. The icons are simple to understand, as are the associated buttons. I like that you get a spatula too; one that fits in the lid. How often do we end up sticking something unsuitable inside to get better blending? Ok, maybe that’s just me! Not necessary here tho as the spatula fits ideally and stays away from the blades. It helps. Even the colour recipes booklet is useful. There are actually some very easy and tasty options in there. And you can crush ice too. I want to marry this thing!

All in I am already very impressed with the pro quality of this product. It feels like it’ll last a long time and while I do gulp just a little at the price over several years it’ll probably work out a good investment if you’re a serious ‘blender’.

A very slick and robust blender. The blending jug slots easily into place ( and removes easily); the lid fits tightly. The box claims that this will blend much finer ( with it smart red blade) than any traditional blender and it really does – I made a broccoli soup, which can often be quite lumpy but not with this blender; the mixture came out so fine and made for a much better cuisine. Turning the dial to control the blend is very easy and the jug is so easy to clean. The suckers on the base make sure the blender stays firmly in place The blender is tall and slim and easy to slot into a corner when not in use

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is an Advanced Blender that will pulverise fruits and vegies, even dry nuts in a minute or two.It can liquify hard vegetables like Carrots and beets. I liquified three cored-apples and three peeled soft peelers (small sweet orange like ctrus fruits, Tangerines or mandarins) in a minute and this was not even at half the power. We already had a small Blender and was happy with it until this Blender arrived and made it obsolete or useless.

This comes with a amazing Recipe book with 36 recipes that do not demand too many ingredients, just a few fruits and vegies commonly found in local Supermarkets or online and a few other ingredients already available in most homes such as garlic, ice, cheese, pepper and olive oil. There is an App for it, the Health Drinks App (Google App tore and Apple Store).

In terms of construction, this is a Sturdy device. The base has four (4) Suction cups so it actually anchors itself to flat surfaces and will stay-put during processing, it does not vibrate or move about, it securely adhers to the ground
To make drinks, there is a dedicated ‘drink icon’ button, to process any other ingredients, there is a P button and to crush ice, there is an ‘ice icon’. So only those three touch sensitive buttons. So it is very easy to operate. Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe HR3652/01 matches up to the product description, if read carefully. However one might at first gain the impression that the chopping blades run at 35,000rpm, no, this is the motor, which is still blindingly fast. The six blade (“3D”) assembly runs at more conventional speeds, from very fast to extremely fast, and is very effective. I would have preferred the variable speed to have gone from a much slower Minimum while still having the same Maximum.

Do not be tempted to run this machine without the lid being firmly located in the jug, doing otherwise might result in the room requiring redecoration. The instructions suggest using the spatula while making a smoothie to help with the distribution of ingredients, this through the centre hole of the lid normally blocked off by the small measuring cup. Hmm.

    The controls are very simple.
. A rotary dial from Off, to On, to variable continuous speed from Min………..Max.
. On enables the three buttons
. . Pulse – press it for as long as needed to run
. . Ice crush – it pulses itself for a minute or so or until the button is pressed again
. . Smoothie – it runs for a minute or so or until the button is pressed again
After about three minutes of continuous operation it turns off to prevent overheating.

The jug assembly can be dismantled for cleaning, and reduces to; the glass bit, the rubber washer bit containing the blades, the lid, and the locking collar holding the rubber bit to the glass bit. It has a twist lock onto the motor base to prevent it coming loose, and when correctly seated also operates the safety interlock to allow the motor to run.

I found that the rubber bit became very hot in less than a minute with the jug just half full of water – this was simply the first run as a way of initial cleaning and finding out how well all the controls worked. The top of the motor was not yet hot, nor was the water; this was just the friction in the rubber bit holding the blade assembly, which concerns me about the longer life of the machine.

The newsprint instruction leaflet for this machine is perfunctory and in many languages. As well as the mandatory safety warnings and exploded diagrams showing how it all fits together, it also shows us all the accessories that it could have been supplied with; such as a pair of tumblers (with drinking lids), or a mill-jar, which fit onto the blade assembly instead of the jug. The glossy booklet has seventeen recipes and some hints on usage.

The four rubber sucker feet are effective at holding the motor base down on the worktop, and the blender refrained from walking about even when chopping apple and pear cubes as big as the suggested 2cm with some lemon and orange segments, or later when reducing half a (pre-chilled) jug of deep-frozen ice chunks to snow.

There is not a great difference in effect on the ingredients between Minimum and Maximum speed, even when quite full. The very high minimum speed means that it can only be a blender, reducing almost everything to a smooth cream in seconds, with not much opportunity for a simple fine chop unless one is very quick at dabbing the pulse button a few times. I’ve been reading recently that super-smooth smoothies are not so good for one as a coarser less fine cut; apparently this is simply because a smoother blender destroys more of the fibrous goodness in the food, I don’t know how scientifically true this is, but it is something to bear in mind.
