After finding out my cheap old saw was battered beyond comprehension this Bosch was a breath of fresh air. The first cut was so clean and required so little force it was a major change. The cut line was perfect and it’s been used massively since and still producing perfectly clean cuts in kitchen worktops, 50mm square timbers etc.
The cutting guides work really well making it easy to follow a pencil line or, better still, clamping a guide makes a perfectly straight cut every time. Easy to use, light and nowehere near as noisy as the old saw.

This is good and pretty decent value for money when on sale. It’ll cut a piece of wood, but short of one specific kind of rip cut you may as well throw the little guide in the bin. I’m not sure if this one works with tracks, but there are grooves in the bottom plate that imply that. It takes a little time to get used to, and is rather heavy, but I’ve used it in rougher cuts for quick furniture that only need a little clean up.

Bought to replace a 25 year old PKS-46, which, after years of heavy use, finally stripped its internal gears.
This update is sturdier (cast alu blade case) and around twice the motor power. It retains all the original controls, but better located and cushioned. Even the side-fence is interchangeable with the old model. It is heavier than its predecessor, but more stable and professional. The 12-tooth Speedline tungsten-carbide-tipped blade (supplied with the saw) produced fast, clean and accurate cuts in both chipboard and long-grain joists.
    Superb value for money!

A lot of my power tools are Bosch brand. I trust their products and first few uses have convinced me I’ve made a good choice with this saw.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat for the price, my only watch-out is that it’s very tricky to see the actual cutting line, which can be problematic when making accurate cuts. The measurements on the cutting guide are not exact and you can’t see the point of impact of the blade and wood, thus giving 4* when weighed with the price.

The saw works well, making short work of most jobs, but I find it quite heavy and cumbersome to use in practice.

Left wondering if I should have bought a battery-powered model or a chop saw instead.

Great addition to my tool kit. East to set up and use, with accurate long clean cuts for larger sections of timber.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAs a first time user of a circular saw I made sure to read the instructions twice for safety (and not to waste material on preventable mistakes anyway). I needed it to shave doors as the carpets are too thick. It’s easier and more convenient to use than I expected and I like the brand a lot. The included spanner is a great feature, my cuts were consistent and straight, it looks like a professional did it. Beginner tip: Use masking tape to prevent chipping.

The only problem is a dust collector/hose is to be ordered separately and standard vacuum hose didn’t hold properly so had someone to hold the vacuum hose while I was cutting. I already used it second time with other project and prefer this over a jigsaw as the cut looks cleaner and it’s faster and easier to use.

Powerful, intuitive adjustments, fantastic value for the money. I really like the blade that comes with it, too. very clean cuts.

I have been busy with the saw on a big job since buying it and I can’t fault it.

Bought to alter some kick boards, and it did the job with ease. Very pleased with the outcome. Would buy again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAlways gone for Bosch. Saw is light and easy to use. Prefer the corded stuff myself as I don’t have to worry about keeping on top of charging the battery. Whether it’s sat in the shed for months at a time or used day in day out it always works. Might not be as cheap as some “cheap and chearful” tools but I believe you get what you pay for when it comes to power tools. Got a 20+ year old power drill here for household DIY and it’s still going strong. Hopefully this saw will last as long.

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersI bought this to cut up an old shed. Whilst it is a fantastic machine and did the job without any problems, it left me terrified of using machines like this again. Please note I am a female who is not inexperienced in doing DIY. The machine itself devoured our old shed, the problem I found was it was quite aggressive even though it has a “soft start”. I just found it slightly difficult to use, probably too strong in power for me personally. I would add that I had panels lying on the ground which were slightly propped up to allow the rotating blade clearance. This was not the most comfortable way to use it. I can imagine if you had a workbench it would be much better. Saying that, it did comfortably allow me to chop up my shed and shred my nerves at the same time. Fantastic piece of kit if you are brave enough to use this ladies. Guys wouldn’t have any problem. Ive just got wrists the diameter of a piece of Blackpool rock. Great deal price too!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m very much an amateur, but I’ve a few projects coming up that would be too much for a jigsaw, so I took the plunge and ordered this. I already have a few Bosch bits and pieces; always found them reliable and well made.
I’ve not had this long; so far, it does exactly what I expected it to – it’s accurate, easy to use and cuts everything with frightening ease! If you’re an amateur as I am, take care; it’s a dangerous bit of kit in careless hands!
I received it a day early, properly boxed and with a manual. Would buy again.

So far I have used the saw to cut some deck boards, the cuts were very accurate, the saw is easy to use, it is a little heavy but ok when you get used to it.

A brilliant bit of kit to use, much easier then the old Black & Decker I had. The saw I received is not quite like the one in the photo as the sawdust outlet is on the side but that aside the saw cuts a trea

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGetting to old to use a saw so decided to treat myself to a circular saw. Much deliberation due to the amount if available products. Like the weight and handling. Never used one before, so found the instructions straightforward and easily explained. Took a bit of time to work out how the cut line, aligned with the guides, as partly blocked visually. Found it easier to line a straight edge and just run it along that. This is an occasional use tool for me and will always take the slow methodical way to using electrical tools but really satisfied with the product.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersBought specifically for the worktops during a DIY kitchen installation.
I am no joiner and have never used a circular saw.
But I do have loads of Bosch products from irons and washing machines to drills and they are a cut above the rest.
Following the instructions found this easy to use after a bit of practice and as usual did not let me down.
    Impressed.
    Recommended for DIY house jobs.

Fantastic for trimming couple of doors. I did change the circular blade for a 40t to trim down some hollow doors. Very simple to change the disc, very smooth and easy to manoeuvre. Great for the money.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat robust tool, that’s just right for small DIY jobs. Used only once up to now for a small task but was impressed . Feel dust box should come with it as standard and not bought separate which is why I’ve knocked a star off. Tight Bosch…

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersTo be honest I am struggling to find any real negatives with this saw. OK so perhaps it doesn’t have a rigid case but I suppose it fits on my shelf in the garage a lot easier without one. There isn’t a tool supplied to catch the dust, however I use a small cotton bag 12cm x 20cm with a drawstring and just tie it around the ejector tube and it works a treat you can pick these up most places for about 2 or less and it’s a piece of cake to empty. Just make sure you get yourself a good set of ear protection as it is very loud when cutting (as are all saws) and of course eye protection. I spent a lot of time reading through various reviews on a lot of saws before deciding to purchase this one and I am so happy I went with this saw now. 4 STARS only though as a rigid box would have been a nice touch for the price I paid.

Great little machine, fantastic if your doing cabinetry, cutting plywoods etc. Blade depth and fence width aren’t quite as good as for example my dad Dewalt that was only a little more expensive. The cardboard box is massive so probably adds a little more C02 to the overall transport cost, a storage case would be nice, but overall a great little tool.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI needed a saw for trimming a narrow strip off the bases of some internal house doors prior to/ following a carpet-fitter’s visit. Hiring, like renting domestic property, seems a waste of money and has its own problems, so I decided to buy and gain the flexibility and convenience that ownership brings with it. I nearly went for the professional model as it has a 3-inch cut, which is good for doors and similar thick workpieces. But the relative infrequency of use (compared with say a drill) and the features of this model decided me. Crtitical to the success of a circular saw, or indeed any hand tool, is accuracy an dher ethe saw scores highly. There aretwo main guides and an optional accessory (which I shall get as the cutting clearance dimenions are quite critical). Overall a good tool and purchase.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI owned a cheapo circular saw for a few years, and to be honest it terrified me. So when the wife won the battle of refit the kitchen, I decided that I would need a circular saw for the surfaces at least. I finally opted for the Bosche as I have always been pleased with their tools. But it was a close run thing with the Makita. In short the Boche did all that was expected. Armed with a 42 tooth blade it made a remarkably clean cut, one I personally could not hope to improve on, even with a router. As long as you remember the blade cuts up and not down, and that you cut from the front of the surface with it upside down, you should not go wrong. Well pleased and fear gone…. well almost.
