[ Q2 ] What will happen after the 2 years are up?
[ A2 ] If you want to continue using the built-in data with your mobile data connection even after two years, you have to update your data plan. We plan to provide updates for 50 euros a year. The detailed procedure regarding how these updates will be carried out has not yet been decided, but we will update the information on our website. Or, you can also freely install your own SIM card (Please note that only SIM cards sold by us are supported). Or, you can also connect to WiFi or your personal hotspot.

Great little device. Played with it for a few days and it seems to work very well. For the price you pay would recommend anyone who likes to travel to get one. You can take a picture of text and it translates straight away. Very easy to use.

Auch nach einigen Tagen Nichtbentzung entldt sich der Akku nicht.
Aprs quelques jours d’utilisation, je confirme la premire approche. L’appareil est vraiment patant, meilleur par exemple que le dernier appareil de Vasco. Je l’ai essay en Wifi et en rseau sur 4G et il fonctionne sans problme. Reste juste des petites rserves : les Jeux de rle avec seulement deux langues, l’impossibilit d’exporter des fichiers et, enfin, de ralentir le dbit du traducteur, ce qui serait bien utile dans l’apprentissage d’une langue. Mais en dehors de a (ce qui est loin d’tre essentiel), il est parfait.
J’ajoute que les langues synthtiques sont particulirement russies, surtout si on ajoute vocalement la ponctuation dans sa propre langue, fidlement retranscrite dans la langue traduite. Le mode d’emploi est trs succinct mais a permet de dcouvrir peu peu l’appareil par soi-mme. On dcouvre, par exemple, que pour effacer les photos ou les traductions, il faut aller dans la rinitialisation (dans paramtres) qui permet d’effacer les lments sparment. galement que l’appareil photo dispose d’un zoom 3x. Vraiment trs bien ! Et puis, sa taille, son design et son ergonomie ! 5 toiles mrites.
Great little bit of kit especially when you don’t speck any French at all , we’ve used it loads for talking and translating letters , thought bit pricey for what it is but think in the end will be worth the money . Would recommend it .
Works just about anywhere – great for learning a new language
Occorrera’ ancora un po’ di tempo e diverse prove per conoscere a fondo le opportunita’ operative. Per il momento mi sembra abbastanza ben progettato . Sono mancanti le istruzioni di funzionamento, sintetiche e semplici, e questo lo ritengo un fatto negativo.
Ebbene, il device si presenta molto bello, di piccole dimensioni (forse anche troppo piccolo!!).
Appena acceso e seguito i brevissimi passaggi di setup, si immediatamente messo in modalit operativa.
Interfaccia decisamente intuitiva e di prima impatto risulta molto fluida e veloce.
Ho testato con moltissime frasi da Italiano a Inglese e sembra che le traduzioni siano eccellenti.
Velocit di traduzione veramente veloce, quasi immediata. Il volume della voce sembra ottimo.
Fra un mese avr modo di provarlo “sul campo” poich dovr recarmi in Russia; spero che traduca in Russo con la stessa affidabilit della lingua Inglese.
Ora devo verificare la durata della carica. Mentre quando sar in Russia, in un ambiente industriale, spero che il volume della voce che produce la traduzione sia sufficientemente alta.
Sono soddisfatto anche delle traduzioni da testi scritti; anche con fonts piccolissimi si comportato molto bene.
Peccato che la traduzione che viene visualizzata sul display risulta molto piccola per via del suo display , come dicevo, di piccole dimensioni.(4,5 cm x 5,5)
Ancora non ho capito come far a riattivare la sua SIM integrata quando scadr tra 2 anni.

I use this product for translating to and from spoken and written Thai and have found it accurate at this so far. I am pleased with it. It would have been nice to have comprehensive instructions for using it supplied but I got around this by going online and finding some. I recommend this.

Just what we were looking for ! Now only time will tell after a few holidays.
La qualit de fabrication est excellente, avec une coque mtallique du plus bel effet (srement en aluminium vu le faible poids de l’engin) et un cran confortable. la premire utilisation, l’appareil vous demandant de rentrer un code Wi-Fi (en plus de sa SIM 4G intgre sans frais supplmentaires), vous remarquerez d’ailleurs que le systme tourne sous Android, mais ne semble pas utiliser Google Trad (heureusement, d’ailleurs) ni pour ses traductions, ni pour sa synthse vocale.
Pour traduire, c’est vraiment trs simple : pressez l’unique bouton de devant, en ayant pralablement choisi la langue d’origine et celle de destination (le micro intgr peut d’ailleurs le faire pour vous, vitant une recherche parmi toutes les langues), et dites simplement la phrase que vous souhaitez dire dans l’autre langue. Le rsultat est quasi instantan, et est directement lu travers le haut-parleur de l’appareil. Vous ne l’avez pas entendu ? Pressez simplement l’cran tactile, et la synthse vocale redira la version traduite autant de fois que vous le voudrez, en plus d’afficher le rsultat sous forme textuelle, si jamais vous voulez que votre interlocuteur vous confirme bien ce que vous avez voulu dire. Vraiment cool, surtout si vous voyagez !
Le Pocketalk est galement quip d’un petit capteur photo, pour traduire des lments pris en photo. Celui-ci tant cependant assez limit en basse lumire, privilgiez l’utilisation du flash intgr, pour prendre des photos lisibles, qui seront ensuite conserves dans la mmoire interne. Les clichs sont ensuite traduits automatiquement par l’appareil, sans besoin de surligner les zones ncessaires, ni la langue en question. Si votre texte comprend plusieurs langues, la traduction se fera d’ailleurs pour tous les lments, sans distinction, dans une limite de 55 langues avec cette option. Une autre application intgre permet galement de convertir des units, que ce soit temprature, poids, longueur ou devises. Le tout se mettant jour automatiquement, soit via la 4G, soit par Wi-Fi.
Ct connectivit, pas de prise jack, mais un port USB-C unique (le cble est fourni), ainsi qu’un module Bluetooth appairable avec les couteurs ou enceintes connectes de votre choix. Il y a mme un petit trou pour passer un cordon, parfait pour ceux qui aiment customiser avec un strap Square Enix par exemple.
Enfin, un jeu de rle intgr vous proposera de vous plonger directement dans des situations o une langue trangre est ncessaire, que ce soit en aroport, l’htel, en dplacement, au restaurant, pour faire du tourisme ou encore du shopping. Une faon ludique d’apprendre, au choix, l’Anglais ou le Chinois (dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de Japonais !).
En dfinitive, le Pocketalk est un appareil vraiment trs pratique, qui devrait me servir la fois au quotidien, tout comme en voyage. Mes comptences tant assez limites en Japonais, ce petit traducteur devrait notamment me permettre de faire toutes les fins diffrentes de Catherine sur PS Vita, malheureusement non localis chez nous, car restant une exclusivit sur l’archipel.
Le seul bmol reste son prix : 300 tout de mme ! Cependant, l’appareil tant livr avec un abonnement 4G international d’une dure de deux ans (extensible, ou swappable avec le mode Wi-Fi), cela fait pas mal relativiser quand on sait le prix de recharges en data dans certains pays du monde !
Je le recommande donc tous ceux qui veulent un appareil ddi pour la traduction, tant sa simplicit d’utilisation est juste bluffante, compar un Google Trad qui peut parfois tre (trs) capricieux et de mauvaise qualit d’interprtation.
