I got this controller because the xbox wireless ones were sold out at the time and thought I would give this a go.
It is a very good controller to use and the back buttons and trigger stoppers a nice option.
The only bad points I have found with the controller is that the triggers feel very cheap imo and the D-pad isn’t the best as you can easily press up or down when your trying to press left or right.

Controller is great, but needed to plug in to my laptop to update as could hear myself from my headset. Other than that great controller and value for money

    Update:

A few more days and it’s still impressing me.

Some say the trigger stops limiting full input is a bad thing but how Power A have done them makes sense in some games. GTA for example. Unlike the Elite 2, the stops are ergonomically placed so you can easily change them whilst playing. Flicking from fill range for driving and flying to instant for ground fighting with snipers etc without needing to turn controller upside down.

And wired certainly has less input delay. You can feel it.

    ——————————-

A day or so using this controller bteaking in the thumbsticks and I’m loving it.

Having had 11 Elite 2 controllers this is a breath of fresh air, so far.

If the d-pad didn’t feel squishy it would be worth 5 stars.

Been using this controller for 5 months now it has stick drift after only 5 months of use! Any fix?

Hadn’t spotted anyone mentioning the d-pad on these controllers so I thought I’d drop in a quick review.

I play a lot of fighting games – normally on PC where I’ve got a cheap/adequate fighting stick and on PS4 with a Hori Fighting Commander. I’ve recently picked up a few fighting games on Xbox but have been struggling with my original Xbox One pads due to their rapid wear-and-tear of the d-pads (not registering presses, double-pressing etc). I’ve also got an Xbox Series S and the pad for that is much better but I’m not a fan of the recessed d-pad. I wanted something to play the occasional fighting game on the Xbox that wasn’t going to break the bank.

So far – the PowerA has been the answer! I’m really surprised at how accurate this d-pad is: very easy to finish on a diagonal, light to press but without registering any unwanted jumps etc. I’ve never been much of a KoF player but on KoF 15 I’m pulling off those supers with ease (you know, the nasty quarter circle back, half circle forward). PC compatibility is fine too (Xinput).

The d-pad appears to use a rubber membrane (similar to the 360 controllers) rather than those nasty dome-switches on the official Xbox One controllers.

Everything else? Great! Sticks feel just like a regular Xbox One controller – movement feels 1-1 with them (not like some third party controllers where the dead zone feels off for example). The triggers do feel a little lighter – like the springs aren’t quick as heavy duty – but nothing too offputting.

The paddle buttons on the back work well. Just to clarify – these are for mapping a button press – they are not for recording macros. Still pretty useful – for example, you could map L3 to one of them to quickly run in a FPS instead of clicking in the left stick etc.

Time will tell what the durability of this controller will be but so far so good. The only minor downside I can see is that the cable is USB-A to micro-USB. USB-C would have been nice (no more trying to plug it in the wrong way!) however I’m not really likely to unplug it from the controller end and the fit is snug. And this is just me being greedy, but it would have been fantastic if they could have had this switchable to work on other consoles!

Excellent value for money – would definitely recommend.

    /Andy

PowerA always seem to have mixed reviews for their controllers, and generally for very valid reasons (from my experience). However, this controller has been worth every penny spent on it so far. It feels and plays like a top end controller that would cost you a lot more, and the ability to change the colours on the controller just adds a nice touch if you’re after a certain asthetic.

The trigger locks work perfectly fine, although I would highlight that some games will not respond to the shorter trigger locks so you may have to just play around with it depending on the game you are playing.

Overall, it’s a great controller for the price and I’ve had no issues with mine since purchase.

Only had it a weak but I also only had the xbox 1 controller a week before I sent it back, this PowerA Spectra Infinity Enhanced Wired Controller I’ll be keeping. It;s a FAR superior experience.
And here’s why : the official Microsoft XBox 1 controller bought for pc gaming, also required me to buy an additional Bluetooth 5.0 adaptor & rechargeable batteries. A total of 78!! But it felt well built, pity it didnt work as well.
Multiple failed key presses or key presses resulting to infinity presses or stick movement would literally “stick” and continually rotate the characters view or have them walk without anything pressed – you might say “low battery” – I had rechargeables that I swapped the moment the 1st pair were fully charged (luckily I already owned 2 excellent expensive chargers else that would have brought the price up beyond the Elite controllers price) Anyway this is a review about the “PowerA Spectra Infinity Enhanced Wired Controller” (with a warning not to but the microsoft wireless controller – i’m sure they work fine with xboxes? BUT if you need a controller for Elden Ring, buy this!, the 10 foot wire insures no need for extensions, the lighting is actually useful, the additional 2 underside remappable buttons are no gimmick, really useful !! great for remapping the stich/hat presses instead (had the 4 button powerA version had leds I would consider buying that but the leds maych my corsair k95, mousepad, pc, leds strips & scimitar mouse all flashing away like l.sd. with out the 8 hours of come down.
powerA make very good controllers. my last cheap powerA I bought 8 years ago for 10 still works perfectly but it has a smooth plastic shell so longer gaming sessions are uncomfortable with no grippy surfaces, (I only found out it was made by powerA after buying thisd controller… i’ll be buying from these guys again)

TL;DR BUY THIS instead of official xbox controller for PC Gaming – its far superior. end of.

I bought this controller because my previous controller (an Xbox Elite Series 2) had issues with registering some button presses about… a year into use?, and I saw a few reviews saying the remote comes with a warranty.

Honestly, if you want a high-quality controller (as long as you’re happy with it being wired) without worrying about the price tag, this is a great choice. Works just as well as my old remote whilst still having the customisation of parts and trigger responses.

Great wired pc controller for the money. The whole family use these for pc compatible gaming. RGB colour changing features are nice, the kids love it.

Very good controller for its price and I’d recommend it if you don’t play FIFA.

If you play FIFA then I would not recommend it at all due to when taking penalties. When you are aiming it wobbles when holding it in a direction. I couldn’t find a way to make it less sensitive even after calibration. (Razer wolverine also did this and I had to return it) Therefore I had to buy an official Microsoft controller again as it remains steady when taking penalties on FIFA.

Well, this does exactly what it’s described to do… a wired controller with the ability to duplicate two of its buttons to the ones underneath… Exactly what I needed as I’ve associated the A button (jump) with one, and X (reload and use) with the other. Now I don’t have to move my thumbs when in the thick of the fight.

Loving the customisable LED lighting too, it adds a super cool finish to it.

In game it feels solid and works really well. The response is as good as any controller I’ve used and I have to be modest and admit that my kill/death rate has actually measurably improved simply because of the custom button function as I described above. Spot on in that respect. I’m no pro gamer but this has certainly helped me improve!

I’ve also found the trigger switches to be pretty cool too. They have three positions which are; standard triggers as per normal Xbox controllers, medium hair trigger setting and very quick hair trigger which is basically a fast acting switch. I leave it on the fastest setting for shooters and I find I can rapid fire pistols much quicker with it! I have to set them to normal for games like Minecraft though as I don’t think the game recognises them otherwise. It’s a really cool addition to this controller and again it’s improved shooting time in first person shooters and the like.

As it says, this will work on Xbox or PC via USB cable, and it does work well on PC. I’ve tried a few controllers on PC and prefer the Xbox style layout as firstly I’m used to it, but I find it rather efficiently laid out too. In short it works!

One time it did glitch out though. It stopped responding and left me running sideways in a game as though it had locked up in the software? I unplugged to reset it and when plugged back in it defaulted back to factory settings, so I had to rebind the buttons and reset the LED colours. Not a major problem as it’s easy peasy to do, but a pain when it cost me the game in the first place!
It’s only happened once, and I can only hope it doesn’t do it again, but given the amount of use it’s had since I bought it I’ve kind of forgotten it did that! It’s been well used since then believe me!

Overall a good controller, and thus far I’ve not encountered any issues (other than the one off glitch I mentioned above) and believe me it’s had a thrashing! Does exactly what I needed it for.

Love the design and feel of this controller. The features that come with it are immaculate especially the trigger lock mechanism. the extra map buttons get pressed a lot by accident when playing which could be a problem if you mapped them and jumped into a competitive game and miss input. But easily avoidable if you just dont map the buttons. The cable length is great and sturdy feels well protected. The analogues feel very sleek and grippy the d-pad also feels great and smooth to the press. overall quality of this item is amazing in my eyes.

The controller has a strange feel to it compared to controllers from Microsoft. (Like you’re on a higher sense) Although after getting used to it it feels natural. For the money it’s a very nice controller so you can get used to paddles. Unfortunately for me after 2-4 hours of use everyday for a week I now have stick drift on both sticks. It’s quite a considerable amount so be wary if would effect you a lot.
Overall for the money it’s good but there are better controllers out there if you pay a little more.

I use this controller for PC gaming, more recently; Elden Ring.
I will preface this by saying I am not a professional gamer… just a humble casual.
I do not own an Xbox.

This controller feels very sturdy, the build quality is good and tough, and it looks great when lit up.
It typically weighs a lot more than any previous controller’s I’ve owned, but this is likely due to the better build quality and extra internals for the RGB lighting.

I have been using this controller for over 20 hours of rough play-time at the time of writing this review and I am very happy with my purchase.

Wanted a 2nd controller for when friends visit. Usually 2nd party peripherals are a bit cheap and dodgy, and I would have been happy if it were a title ‘rough around the edges’ but still usable. However I’m actually impressed with this. It feels comfortable to hold and everything works very well. A quality 2nd / spare controller. I recommend it.

I have used this product over a week straight playing FPS games.
I bought the xbox elite v2, had to return due to it being faulty, then bought another one, to have the same problem the analogs wouldn’t click at 2 5 7 and 11 o’clock positions due to the new design.
This joypad at the fraction of the cost ALMOST out performs the xbox elite.
The analogs on this controller work perfectly, directions mean alot to me as I have been speed running games such as mario64 where precision is key, slightest bit of drift or oversteer in your analog can ruin a game. The RGB is nice and the 2 extra action buttons on the back are fab (but not as good as the xbox elite v2 with its 4 extra with flappy panels) but it falls short on the trigger locks, that’s where the controller falls a bit, they are no where near the quality of xbox elite v2 with their trigger locks, they feel very flimsy and don’t lock as close as the elite. But beside that for 35 vs xbox elite 150, yea it definitely a great controller it is my go to for any fps or platforming game.

Beats the elite v2 in the analog departme

My step son gave me his Xbox One we got him a Series S. Unfortunately none of the controllers worked any more.
I decided to go with this to pay for a recognised by Microsoft product.
So far the quality has been good and the response acceptable.

If there are any issues in the future I will update this review. For now I’m just happy to be able to use the xbox again.

Very surprised at the quality of this controller. Was skeptical as I normally stay away from non official controllers but so glad I didn’t this time. Grips on the analogue sticks is great giving me more control. Feels comfortable to use. LEDs are a nice touch and havn’t even got to using the extra buttons yet, Also works with headset I had bought previously I was going to have to buy an adapter for the official controller. Recomended!

Needed a Microsoft certified controller for my gaming pc and I couldn’t be happier with this! Feels solid just like a official Microsoft controller, I love the extra clips to hold the charger cable secure (so many broken cables and connectors in the past with standard type) programmable rgb’s are very nice, extra programmable buttons are very useful on pc and comes with 2 year guarantee.. I would definitely buy this controller again!

Controller feels comfortable in the hands and has three extra buttons on the back to add some customisation to your usual control configuration possibly . Not actually tried it yet but I assume that’s what there there for. Otherwise controller is lighter though thats to be expected as it’s not got a battery. The cable length is just about right for me at about 2 to 3 metres in length.

This review is being told from my sons experience as he’s into gaming

My son is a young adult on the autism spectrum and he has loved gaming ever since he was very small.

He wanted to get a controller which was wired as it has hardly any input delay compared to a wireless one. Also he didn’t like the idea of charging his xbox battery pack as he felt It was a waste of energy

    But he loves the controller

He finds it really comfy for his hands likes the size

He loves the wide range of colour options avaliable and he also can play call of duty with ease without any input delay from the controller

He gives it a 5 star review

    Totally wired!

I have bought many different controllers for my sons at xmas time. This one has been a big hit , he likes that he can chose the light sequence, and that the wire is longer, that means that it reaches from one side of his room to the other. For me less batteries for me to buy and the used ones lying about.

I bought this for my wife because her controller died of play death, literally.

She wanted some that lights up and stood out, so this controller we bought and she loves it. There is not a lot of colours and some missing like purple etc which is strange but you can mix and match a lot of the colours to make stuff unique to you.

The controller has a lot of buttons on it, tooo many for me. I just about focus on one button to turn my PC on and this controller has them all over, but she loves it and uses them all. So happy days.

It’s literally a plug and play with Windows and no issue’s at all. She read the manual, set her colours and happy days. Works like a charm.

Great price for a great product. I bought another one when they became available.
Extra buttons underneath, different colours if that’s your thing . Extra long cable but toughened cable that will out last the controller. Overall you cannot go wrong if you don’t want to pay 150+ for the Elite.

  28. Anonymous says:

    Great for FPS games.
You will outcompete players using paddles because you can press the AG buttons effortlessly. They are cleverly placed under your middle fingers so that you can retain a tight grip while constantly pressing them. The controller is sturdy and forgiving of damage. The volume button works with your headset and gives you the supreme advantage of adapting your hearing on-the-go without touching your headset. The underside of the handles are grooved to stop your hands from slipping.
This controller takes big advantages over other professional controllers, despite having only 2 AG buttons.
I also added an extension to my analog stick to increase range of movement for the purpose of expanding my aim. I recommend doing this if you are competitive.

This controller works as it should. No issues, no dead zones, no drift sticks. Perfect all round controller. Well worth the money better than PDP offerings. Only thing I wish it did was rainbow colour cycle, but it don’t bother me to be honest.

Pros: good soft touch feel plastic, heavy premium feel, decently long white cable, responsive controls.

Cons: cable not braided, had a couple of controllers by this brand and only lasted 3-6 month before you get some stick drift so not holding my breath, but so far so good.

Really happy with it so far, especially for the money.

I was sceptical with the price at first but when it arrived the overall controller feeling is great almost like the Microsoft ones buttons feel a little different not bad but they good. LED setup is easy to do instructions are clear and easy to understand. Haven’t tried using the advanced buttons yet. But definitely worth the price.

I had bought a previous PowerA controller that lasted around 18 months before the left stick began drifting and failing. Despite that, I was generally pleased with its responsiveness and that it cost significantly less than an official XBox controller so I decided to buy this similar PowerA model.

Again, I am very pleased with the quality of this controller and with the additional features this model has. The LED colours can be changed across different zones of the controller, which looks great, and the trigger response can be adjusted to suit (although I tend not to use this so much).

Hoping this may last longer than the previous PowerA as reliability seems to be an issue, but not bad for the price.

35 for back buttons and trigger locks? Yes please. The controller is very solid, I’m not big on RGB so I turned them off. My only issue is the trigger locks make it unable to charge up a plasma pistol on halo infinite for some reason, apart from that, no deadzones, the wire is very long, it’s grea

I’ve been using this for a couple of months now (on a PC) and it’s been great. No problems with stick drift or responsiveness and the whole thing has a good quality feel to it. The LED lighting is a bit of a gimmick but if that’s your thing, this is very configurable – I generally leave it off.

I did contact PowerA support on one occasion (missing manual on their site) and they got back with the info very quickly and also updated their site with the missing manual within a couple of days. So it appears they are quite responsive.

Overall, a really good option if you are after a controller.

Everything about this controller screams luxury, everything from the analogue sticks to the buttons feel great to press. They add a generous length of wire so you can play it from a distance. I’m just hoping it doesn’t develop stick drift quickly as I have only used it for a week or so. At this point I would highly recommend it though!

Not sure I would have ordered this if I read reviews beforehand cos most people had bad things to say about it. However its been class for me. The weight is perfect (not too heavy or light), quality feel, long enough cable and quality as well, buttons are perfect to press. The instructions for changing light and other settings are absolutely simple. Haven’t used a headphone with it yet but I’m hoping it works as well. I love all the buttons as they feel soft and easy to press. However I don’t like the position of the buttons beneath the controller as you constantly find yourself pressing them unintentionally and they have cost me a few games. I would prefer if they were reposition so that we don’t constantly press them by mistake which can be annoying if it costs you games. Overall it’s the best controller I’ve purchased so far and I would purchase it again should I have to.

Controls are so smooth, the sticks never get stuck or stiff, the button design is so convenient, and the ability to control the sensitivity of the triggers is perfect for quick tapping. Also the LED functions are phenomenal, having the ability to change three different parts into over 40 different colours just shows the versatility and the combinations are endless. The controller comes nicely boxed, when I opened the box and took the controller out I was suprised at how heavy it was, I personally like a heavier controller.
The controller feels well constructed in part due to the weight, the top of the controller feels rubberised while the back and trigger buttons are textured for better grip.
The left and right sticks feel solid when moving them and seem to have a little bit of resistance, on the rear of the controller you have a 3 stage trigger selector which is a great improvement over their standard controller.
The RGB lights are a nice touch but you need to read the instructions on how to set them up.
Overall very impressed with the controller and the way it looks and feels.
If you’re look for a mid range priced controller as a back up/pc controller or as a gift, this is a great option.

As well made as the Microsoft branded controller it replaced. Has two underside buttons that are within easy reach that are re-mappable buttons. This feature is normally found in controllers triple the price.

Great controller overall. Lovely shape, great button placement for the paddles, quick and easy to reprogram and all of the buttons feel responsive BUT after a week the right stick started to drift. I have kept it clean and away from dust, dirt and debris. I am fully aware stick drift can happen but after a week? I think thats the only real let down with this.

The controller is fine for the price, everything functions and there’s no issues with input or anything. It feels particularly cheap but you get what you pay for, buttons are cheaper and clacky, and the rumble isnt great, just one big rumble compared to the newer Xbox controllers better rumble and specific rumble in the triggers.

Would recommend as a second controller for guests or if you don’t play a lot of hours like myself.

Gamepad is well weighted & sized. Most buttons are very good, except the triggers, that feel a little cheap & light. Which leads to the main fault, the trigger stops. The only useful setting is the middle, the other two settings are poor. The first setting is far to short, triggers don’t do anything, too much dead zone. The third setting is the long default, too much dead zone again. Gamepad currently does not have any app, or online manager to resolve this issue.
Other features work well enough, & the extra 2 remappable buttons are a nice addition. They can be used instead of the poor triggers, for a higher response. The headset plugs directly into the gamepad, with its own settings built in. Overall this gamepad is a good quality, soft top, & textured bottom, & currently a price that is just right…

I’m always dubious to buy cheaper peripherals, however, wanting a wired Xbox controller for the PC I thought I’d give it a try and it turns out I am very happy with the product! The controller feel sturdy, possibly the only downfall is that L2/R2 feel a bit less solid than the official controller. The RGB lights are programmed through holding a button on the bottom and cycling through the ‘zones’ and colours using the D pad and A/B/X/Y buttons, I’d assumed there’d be a piece of software for it, but it does the job. The R2/L2 triggers have a switch underneath the body, to change how far they need to be pressed to action, which is a nice touch. It does have two ‘easy access’ buttons on the bottom of the controller, but I haven’t found a use for these yet as you program these to be another of your buttons, not a keystroke, which would be nice. Overall, very happy and may pick another one up for my lad.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWas a bit dubious going for a 3rd party controller but to sum up;
    – looks and feels great
    – buttons don’t stick (this was my main concern), slightly different feel to a “real” controller but not in a bad way
    – personally I love the LEDs but you can easily turn them off if it’s a bit much
    – cable is a good length and seems strong; I have a cat who chews on EVERYTHING and I feel safe leaving this out
-fair price although I think 30 quid would be more accurate, I paid 35

Overall if you want a wired controller or just need a new controller full stop, I’d reccomend this, especially if you’re into the whole “gamer LED” thing . Time will tell on the long term durability but if get a year or two out of it I’ll be happy, I play a lot so it’ll be stress tested for sure. Will update the review if it starts giving me trouble but so far so good, if unsure I’d say just go ahead and try one ou

Really impressed for a 3rd party controlle

Where to start??? The weight, feel, comfort and visual of this controller is perfect!!! My previous PowerA controller lasted me 3 years and recently I wanted a nicer one. So I found the spectra and instantly love it. Gameplay is smooth with this controller and the customizable RGB sectors is an added bonus! I use this controller for PC gaming i.e Racing/sim games, skateboarding games etc.

10/10 Would recommend to anyone that needs a good/reliable/affordable controller. My community loves it and have recommended them to purchase!

    Perfect 3rd party controller!!!

For the price, the product is outstanding. The controller its self has a very nice feel to it, the grips are rubberized, and the controller has a bit of heft to it (in a good way). The lighting is pretty cool, if that’s your jam. The sticks and triggers are pretty decent, and the buttons… are buttons. Not the best, but good enough given their binary output. Comes with a good quality braided cable that locks into the controller for a secure connection.

I bought the controller since my previous pdp controller broke, only got it since it had the paddles on the back. I really like it, it’s a mix of the pdp deluxe controller I had and the original xbox controller. Feels nice and strong, built with high quality materials and it has a nice long cable which helps a lot. What I dislike is the light for the mute button, you learn to live with it but id prefer it without it.

I’d 100% recommend this controller, better than the original xbox controller and much cheaper than the elite series of xbox controllers. A fair middle ground.

I wouldn’t say this is only lacking in one area by being cabled. The feel and quality are identical. The sticks are spot on. No drift or noise. The LED programmable areas is a really nice touch and allows a pretty decent level of customisation.

It’s a cool controller, nice design. The only issue I have with it is that the left stick is stuck in a slight down position. This means when I play COD my man is ever so slightly creeping backwards constantly. This isn’t an issue for the most part, except when I go prone I am unable to aim. I don’t know if this is my own fault or if it’s a design flaw. I may be able to fix it by popping out the old stick and replacing it.

Feels much nicer to hold than the standard ones and slightly more responsive (we’re talking hundredths of a second) really hand middle button to take screenshots as well, didn’t know I needed it cant live without it now! My only downside is I can’t seem to get the underside buttons to work not sure if mine is faulty but I don’t think they do anything. I was at first concerned that a wire controller would be more restrictive but I prefer it as the controller is never off, saves on batteries and the cable is more than long enough. Overall would definitely recommend 100 times. Also love the colour schemes!

I bought this as I’ve had some trouble with unresponsive face buttons on quite a few Official Xbox One & series S/X controllers. Face buttons on this are tight & very responsive, thank god! The rest of the controller feels good too, I’m impressed, feels comfortable & very similar to me to the Official Controller. Very happy & may buy another.

First things first, this is a great controller. It’s comfortable in the hand, there are extra buttons, and it’s just a good Xbox clone for PC. The downside is that I’ve had this just over 3 months and the left stick no longer centres correctly. It usually settles just off centre, which is enough to register as a movement in-game. Some games will allow you to configure a “dead zone” to compensate for this but that should not be necessary. I’m really disappointed.

I’ve been bashing this thing around in Rocket League for a few months so perhaps this is just what happens. It is definitely much better than other cheap controllers I’ve tried (I’ve tried a few). However if you want something that is built to last then I’d say look elsewhere. If you just want a casual controller for occasional use, this will probably suit you very well.

Fabulous third party cabled controller, really good and I like it loads, cabled connection has always been the best method.

Fuming with Amazon though, price dropped 9 just 3 days after I purchased this and I don’t have money to just throw away, this has happened several times with things I’ve bought so I’m always feeling like I’ve overpaid.

Cancelling prime membership….. Fed up with it now it doesn’t benefit me enough anymore.

Controller is excellent no complaints about the product at all.

Been using this for 6 months and I do like it, I also own the elite 2 controller but the thumb sticks on this feel so much more responsive I have much better aim with this controller. Only down sides is the paddles get a little warn and loose and the trigger stops when on only give you 20% press some games my gun stops firing so I can’t use the stops and when I contacted there support they was not helpfull at all and took 2 weeks to reply to an email. overall though its a good controller for the money that’s for sure

Recently purchased this controller at the beginning of July so have been using a fair bit. In summary a very good 3rd-party, wired Xbox One, PC or Series S|X controller. Yesterday I also took delivery of the Turtle Beach Recon Controller (separate review left on that product page) which is also another really good controller with some very unique features. This compares well to that controller. My thoughts:

+ Ergonomics pretty much the same as the Xbox Series controller.
+ Tension on the analog sticks is nearly perfect and the same as the aforementioned Turtle Beach Recon Controller. Again very small deadzone.
+ Kontrol Freeks fit perfectly fine with no wiggle or turning (took them off to put on the Recon for that photo).
+ Front of the controller has a soft rubberised coating which is pleasant to hold. Some texturing on the back of the controller although quite smooth to hold.
+ D-pad is very good, as are triggers and shoulder buttons. No impulse trigger rumble motors for the games that use them, i.e. Forza Motorsport. But I don’t think that’s going to be an issue with FPS and 3rd person shooters.
+ Micro USB cable port is locked in very securely on the controller, and the break-away cable is a nice touch (like the OG Xbox).
+ RGB lighting is quite fun although thankfully it can be turned off. Zone lighting isn’t quite uniform though.
+ Very easy to program the two back buttons on the fly, although no stored profiles like the Turtle Beach Recon Controller though.

The Trigger stops work…for some games but with varying results. In Halo MCC you can set the trigger stops to the smaller travel with no impact. But in other games the buttons don’t work or limit the acceleration on vehicles, i.e. Destiny 2. So it’s hit and miss as to whether they work with the game you want to play. Without software, like the official MS Elite or the Razer Wolverine controllers, trigger stops are limited in usefulness.

Not many negatives although I think weight of the controller is one. It feels slightly heavier than an official Microsoft controller with battery pack (286g vs 271g). PowerA have used metal weights in their more expensive Fusion Pro controller and this feels similar, although without taking it apart I can’t be sure. But personally I prefer lighter controllers. Also the 3.5mm audio jack worked fine for me, although I didn’t have a chance to test the microphone which can be very low quality output on 3rd-party controllers.

So in terms of the features versus the price of this controller, it’s an easy recommend, particularly at this price point. I do prefer the included audio pre-amp/EQ etc. on the Turtle Beach Recon Controller but the Spectra Infinity is cheaper and if you use a wireless headset might not need those features anyway. A good controller, and I hope has some durability etc. as I continue to use it.

Very solid, wired 3rd-party controller for the money. A lot to like.

After TWO official pads broke after 3 – 4 months each, (charging port on the first one, the “A” button on the second kept missing every 4th or 5th press). I went down the dreaded route of 3rd party pad, glad I did. Not only does the surface of this pad feel nice, the whole feel is just as good if not better than the official pad.

There is also a nice protective edge around the cable port that prevents damage over time to the port itself.

Finally the 2 programmable buttons on the back are just awesome in any fps. Really this is such a nice price for a pad with buttons on the back that feel quality.

For me the controller is almost perfect! But lost a star for the triggers which need more distance of action. For example if you are accelerating a car you want some distance to give you choices of acceleration values, otherwise you go into full throttle quickly, and the car wheelspins. These controller have short distances compared to regular XBox One controllers. If someone made the distance bigger than regular controllers that would be an improvement.

I had my controller delivered during mid march, since then I have been using it frequently for mostly Rocket League. Until now when I pressed too hard on one of the back buttons and it caved in. I have gotten too used to using these buttons now that playing ranked and learning new button mapping would be too difficult for me to figure out, meaning I could not use this anymore. So this controller lasted about 4 months of use, without stick drift like in the previous models I have owned. Finally, if you are planning to buy this controller be gentle with the back button and you should be good.

Brilliant controller. Love the green and blue mix. Light in your hands and seems to be the correct size (as sometimes you get controllers which are slightly smaller). However that being said I wish I had more cord for a further reach. And there has been at least 2 occasions were it stopped responding but unplugged and left alone for a few moments, it started to work again. Definitely a purchase I would highly recommend.

It’s an amazing controller. It has buttons that you can program to become other buttons, so instead of taking your thumb off the analogue stick to press Y and switch weapon, you can keep your aim whilst tapping the back button which you programed as the Y button! It also has a volume control on the pad, not needed as i have a volume control on my headset (as most modern ones do) but a nice touch nonetheless. Smooth controls and easy to use. Deffo buy again if the price stays the same, it’s hard trying to find a good controller that doesn’t cost 50. Well done, makers!

Also has mic chat cut off and volume control on the joy pad so no more trying to strangle a cable looking for the mute button on your headset. Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGreat value controller for almost half the price of an official wireless one (50-60)
The buttons and the grips feel a bit plasticy, the same as an Xbox one controller. This may feel like a bit of a downgrade coming from the textured buttons and grips of a newer series x/s controllers.
There are programmable “paddle” buttons on the back which are usually reserved for the more premium 150+ controllers such as the wireless Xbox elite (180), the wired razor wolverine (150) and the wired Thrustmaster E swap pro(150). I can tell you that the paddle buttons on this controller are the absolute best. Perfectly positioned and designed. Very easy to access and hard to press by mistake. What’s more they can be quickly programmed on the fly without using any app or third party software, such is the case with the more expensive controllers.
There’s also a mic mute and volume control so there’s no need to open menus and scroll through settings-a feature absent from most of the expensive models. 2 year warranty compared to the pathetic 3 month warranty on Microsoft 180 elite controller

    CONS
    -it’s wired
-feels a bit platicy like a last gen controller
    -no rumble in the triggers

    PROS
-easily programmed and perfectly positioned back “paddle” buttons
    -volume and mic mute controls
-dedicated share button for screenshot and video capture
    -30 is insane value
    -2 year warranty

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love this controller. The colour is vibrant and cute.

There does seem to be a very slight amount of drifting after a few months of light use, but it’s not a problem at all yet and if it drifts more I reckon increasing the dead zone would be fine. The 2 year warranty is reassuring as well.

The only criticism I have is that, just like the real Xbox controllers, they’re a bit too big for my hands. I’d say I’ve got pretty average hands for a woman, maybe slightly on the small side. I combat this by using the programmable buttons instead of the triggers, and it works so well. The programmable buttons are at a super comfortable position.

Let me first premise this review by first stating that I purchased this solely for use with a Windows 10 PC, and as such, did not make use of the headset port, headset dial and the “share” button.
This review will not cover those features so any experience from them, positive or negative, can not and will not be portrayed here.

Overall first impressions are very positive; the controller arrived earlier than expected and both the presentation and packaging is neat and well thought out. The controller itself is as you would expect; comfortable and ergonomic, but the features that make this controller stand above others is the light weight and diamond texture grips which you notice almost immediately and are welcome improvements.

One of the key selling points of this controller is the programmable buttons on the back that lie strategically where your middle fingers naturally rest, making them very easy to use and get used to, to the point they become second nature to use.
On the topic of buttons, this is where I find myself struggling to find much to praise. Starting with the triggers, you can feel there is a certain lack in quality; the triggers are not only shorter but also have significantly less travel distance so any kind of
smooth or precise application of it is borderline frustrating. That and the lack of trigger rumble makes any kind of racing game feel superficial and unpleasant. The bumpers function identically to official controllers although they do feel ever so slightly spongier in comparison.
The B, X, A and Y buttons are the parts I found myself most struggling to like. They protrude further from the face and are less rounded which can make pressing them feel rather harsh. The joysticks are a love/hate unfortunately. They have a much firmer mechanism resulting in the need to apply a greater force, again, a huge flaw for racing games or anything that requires smooth or precise movements but it is this same stiffness that makes you feel the movements you’re making. The D-Pad, however, is by far the best part. They too are spongy and have some travel to activate but I find myself preferring this over the official controllers which feature a noticeable bump when the switch is pressed whereas that tactile bump isn’t present here, resulting in a much more comfortable use.

In conclusion, PowerA’s xbox controller is a great inexpensive alternative to Microsoft’s official one. It has a great feature list and an innovative, comfortable design that is available in a vast array of colours and themes. If you can overcome the rather cheap feeling buttons and switches or don’t require any precise level of input and just want to sit back and chill, then this is 100% worth the purchase.

This one has the removable Micro USB Cable, which is far superior to the ones with the fixed cable which are only a couple of quid cheaper, but I promise that you will regret buying, as the cable WILL break at the point it connects to the pad. But as long as you get this version, with the plenty long enough, removable Micro USB cable, you will have no problems.

The control pad itself is sturdy, of far better quality material than most others of similar price, and works equally as well as a 50+ Microsoft/Xbox pad. I really am surprised to find myself so complementary about a product that is a so called “unofficial” version. I’m not one of those bollix reviewers that gets free items or paid for good reviews. I’m just an ordinary bloke giving an honest good review for an item that exceeded my expectations.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersI can’t work out how Power A are offering such a premium product for such a low price. I bought the Spectra Infinity Enhanced. It’s beautiful. It feels heavy and well made. The matte material on the face is very nice and smooth. The buttons all feel well made and robust, with the triggers having a nicely sprung action, and the sticks feel very nice too. The 2 programmable buttons are essential if you want to avoid stick drift. Bind the RS and LS to those buttons, and you won’t get stick drift. Then there are two 3-way switches, one for each trigger, that sets how far the triggers can be pressed. Not something I will use, but I can see that being useful to people with limited mobility in their fingers. Lastly, the RGB lighting is pretty good. You have 4 zones you can customize but not as much as I would’ve liked. Basic colour changes, and breathing or solid. It still looks nicer than any other joypad, and it feels as well made as an official joypad. So, the question remains; if Power A can make a joypad like this for this price, why are official joypads so expensive?

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersThe price of a controller has kind of exploded recently, but the quality seems to have risen accordingly. I didn’t want to pay for an official joypad, so I paid for one of these instead. I also have one of the previous Power A controllers to compare this new one to. The new one feels lighter despite having nicer buttons, sticks and trigger. The whole joypad just feels nicer. It also has an extra ring in the joystick holes that prevents those nasty wear rings on the stick of the joystick. Lastly, I would like to share a secret with you that will make your joypads last much longer in the fight against stick drift. It’s a secret only possible with a joypad with extra bindable buttons. Bind the joystick buttons to the extra buttons, and use those instead. It’s pressing the joystick buttons repeatedly that causes stick drift, or at least brings it on sooner. My previous Power A controller has no stick drift and it’s coming on 2yrs old. If you’re serious gamer then getting 2 stick drift free years out of a joypad isn’t bad going. Anyway, I like this controller very much, and it comes in a variety of colour schemes to suit most people. Recommended.

I got this controller to play xbox game pass games on my PC and it works even better than I thought it would! My PC recognised it as a legit xbox controller the second I plugged it in. The build quality is fantatsic and the vibration strength is good too. The Controller itself, feels very light in your hands, very much similar build quality to official Xbox controllers. Thumb sticks feel quite loose. The extra programmable buttons on the back are handy although not in the best position depending on your hand size. For the money though, you cant really complain.

I had hoped this would be a cheaper alternative controller for gaming on mobile phones. This sadly doesnt work on my mobile phone (Galaxy Note 20 Ultra). It does need to be used with a Usb to Usb C adapter, which you have to buy seperately.
The controller would just not power on when plugged in to the phone (via the adapter). Im not sure if this the controller cable or the adapter, so will need to test further.

I bought this to replace a faulty wired controller i’ve had for maybe 5 years (also made by PowerA) to plug in and play on my PC. Controller works a treat, incredibly well designed and ergonomic. The mic system built in to the controller can be a bit difficult to figure out at first but if you read the instructions (like I should have) it shouldnt take too long. Reprogrammable buttons are easy to use and while not of the quality of an official Xbox controller made by Microsoft, if you want a wired controller for half the price you simply cannot go wrong with this.

My only issue is that on the model I bought, the faceplate is made of a smooth material that doesnt feel like the back and it picks up marks from your hands as you use it, but you wouldn’t notice that while playing.

My son wanted this for Christmas so pre-ordered from Amazon for him. It actually ended up being cheaper than I first ordered at which was amazing.
Haven’t used it properly as of yet but tested it was working and it’s all good.
    Lovely colour, bright and bold.
