Pro Breeze® 20L/Day Dehumidifier with Digital Humidity Display, Sleep Mode, Continuous Drainage, Laundry Drying and 24 Hour Timer – Ideal for Damp and Condensatio

Eradicate Condensation
Condensation appearing on the inside of your windows is a key warning sign that your room has a problem with high humidity and trapped moisture. This excess moisture can lead to major problems for the adjacent area, such as your walls staining, discolouring, and even peeling. Fight excess moisture at home with a dehumidifier.
Humidity & Respiratory Problems
High humidity has been directly linked to many respiratory problems, particularly in young children. It provides the perfect breeding ground for dust mites which live in your furniture, carpets and bedding. Reducing humidity helps eradicate mites and prevents airborne triggers, improving the quality of air around you.
Combat Damp & Black Mould
Mould is a common problem in many households. It can indicate high humidity and may cause your room to smell unpleasant and musty. Black Mould is the most toxic and can release harmful mycotoxins into the air. It starts to grow at 50% humidity, so it is vital that you control your rooms humidity level to prevent its growth.

Powerful unit, useful display and easy to use controls, the noise level isn’t too bad considering it’s 20 litre per day performance. Extraction is high, feels good quality. Appreciate its expensive.
CONDENSATION GONE. I bought this after lots of research for the best on the market, and this was up there. We were getting terrible condensation in our windows, and I hated the thought of high humidity in our home. The first time we put it on, the humidity was 73%, and after a week of using on and off, it’s gone down to 52% which is good indoor relative humidity. I put it on the laundry setting, and when our thick T-shirts normally take 3 days to dry, they dried within 14 hours!
It works a dream, and it’s an investment you won’t regret. Yes, it’s not silent, nor is it light, but these things do not matter considering how effective it is!
Best thing I’ve bought in 2022!
It’s the first I ever bought, I placed it in the bathroom and it’s definitely making a huge difference, drying it well after showers. I like the functions it comes with, I use the timer to make it work a limited amount of time, this way its not on all the time, it also shows you the percentage of humidity, so you’re able to know how bad it is in the room. It has drying cloth functionality, which I haven’t used much, but I intend to buy another one for that in the future. I also want to test it in the cellar, as I’m sure it will make a huge difference there as well. The water tank is big. I see a lot of ppl mention the weight, I find it reasonable weight for size, any lighter I would question build quality. Its meant to sit in one room I think, not to be moved around all the time, however it has a handle to help carrying it, and also wheels. I will update my review if I find necessary, for now, after 2 or 3 weeks, I’m happy with.
A quality product, but unfortunatly there are no proper instruction as to how to use the dehumidifier. I am struggling to understand how to use it properly, even the Web blog isn’t clear either.
Quieter than my old ebay. Easily moves Only had it working two days so don’t know true cost. Only had it on one day and it greatly reduced condensation on windows. Shall move it to another room then site it centrally in House to a permanent position. Smart looking machine.
We had a flood and this dehumidifier removed lots of water quickly. It’s on wheels so easy to move. Needs a little bit of force to remove the water container though, and take care not to catch the wire.
I recently purchased the Pro Breeze 20L/Day Dehumidifier and I am pleased with its performance. It has done a great job of removing excess moisture from my home, making the air feel fresher and more comfortable. However, I will say that it is quite noisy. I have it running in my spare room, which helps to muffle the sound, but if you’re planning to use it in a bedroom or other quiet space, you may want to look for a quieter model. Despite the noise, I am overall happy with the dehumidifier and would still recommend it.
I had the unit working on the high setting for 6 days and after the first day, any morning condensation around the small ground level windows had completely gone and the ‘musty’ smell you get from damp cellars was also gone after 2 days as well. The overall air quality had improved 100%.
The only downside to the unit is the timer. I would have thought that you could set it up to switch on and off at pre-determined times, but it doesn’t exactly work this way as it seems to only switch on and off once in a 24 hour period, hence the reason for the 4 stars. This isn’t a big problem for me personally, but it may be for you.
The instructions are relatively simple to understand, and the tank is easy to empty, but take care when its full as you might get some spillage.
It is a little loud when its going at full power, but nothing major, and on the low setting is perfectly ok. Having said that, different people have different tolerances for noise, but mine is in the cellar and not around the living areas, so noise wasn’t an issue for me personally.
It could be quite heavy for some people to lift (older people or disabled), but the castors make is easy to move across the floor.
Don’t forget to give the filter a clean as well, as mine needed cleaning twice in the period of time I had it on, but again, the cellar was not exactly a clean area. Its very easy to do with a damp sponge, and easy to take out and put back in again.
Overall I am very pleased with the purchase, and given my experience, I would definitely recommend.
All in all it’s pretty good, and it maintains the last mode after switching off (I have it on a wifi timer plug) but the child lock disables if it loses power, so watch out for curious children!
Purchased this to help reduce the dampness in our conservatory and slowly to speed up the drying process for clothes thst have been laundered. I must say I’m reslly impressed with the quality of the machine but also it actually does the job extremely well. We dried a clothes on an airer in 2 hours that would have taken several hours if not 2 days. We collected 4.5 pints of water in our conservatory and as well as drying the clothes, made the room smell and feel fresher. Would definitely recommend this produc
That’s my 4th Pro Breeze dehumidifier. I’ve started with the 0.5l tank, then 1,5l then 3l and now I’ve got this one. The first 2 died (mainly my fault as I had them running in below 0 temps). At the moment, I moved the 3l upstairs and have this one downstairs.
I’ve set the humidity level to 60% on both dehumidifiers and they get full in less than 24h so I would highly recommend both. The 3l tank dehumidifier is slightly noisier, though you get used to it (I wouldn’t recommend have them on your bedroom while you sleep). The only complain I have with the 5l is that the speed doesn’t change automatically. The 3l dehumidifier gives you 3 speed options (low/high/automatic) which I prefer as there’s no point for the dehumidifier to run and waste energy when the humidity levels are not far from the set target.
Excellent for getting rid of the damp and wet walls in my bathroom and kitchen. Wish I purchased one a long time ago
Brought to replace our old Delonghi dehumidifier which stopped working.
Initially brought a cheaper option but wasn’t powerful enough and hardly collected any water.
This is brilliant, sits on our landing and works away like the old one.
Only criticism would be that the water dispenser is at the back and not that easy to empty without spilling water. I have placed it ’round the wrong way’ so it’s easier to empty.
So far, so good. Looks good. Not too noisy. Seems to be working.
Only received this this morning but had it on in a room where clothes were drying for about an hour. Gobsmacked at how much water it has already collected.
For anyone wondering noise wise it’s far quieter than a fa
Very sleek and modern design, it is heavier than expects but it has wheels for a reason… our indoor air quality has increased by a lot.
My other pro-breeze has just given up the ghost after 3 years of working on full power 9 months out of the year. It did what it is supposed to efficiently which is why I have bought another one from pro-breeze. The Laundry Mode is a great help in the winter months when you have to use a clothes horse because you cant put the washing out as it dries a lot faster. At this point I can imagine buying any other brand than pro-breeze.
This product is amazing, it does its job very well! I left it on for a period of 12 hours overnight and it collected 2.7L of water!
Dehumidifier seems to be very effective reducing the levels of humidity at our home, easy to move around with the wheels, it is a little bit noisy but worth having it.
This unit is much quieter than an earlier design model it replaced.
Pros: Fast water extraction/large capacity tank/good features/easy to operate and empty/solidly built.
Cons: A little noisy – I wouldn’t want to sleep in the same room/Quite heavy – it has wheels, but they are small and not great on shag pile carpet. Larger wheels would be better.
My eyes aren’t hurting as before and my flu is clearing up.
I highly recommended i
Also yes clothes do dry quicker and the room feels warmer where the dehumidifier is kept.
Wish I had made this purchase years ago! Definitely recommend for anyone struggling to dry their washing over winter!
Not easy to move around due to it being heavy . Quite noisy when trying to watch TV.
I now only have on every other day through the night and I come down to a tank 3/4 full. The damp smell in my kitchen has now gone.
It’s great to move around as it has wheel however it is very heavy and I struggle taking it upstairs to do the bedrooms.
Energy efficient and does dry the clothes although it takes a few hours
Good product but not the cleverest water box to take out.
Was a bit bigger than I expected but works great. Only used couple of times so far for drying a lot of laundry/taking the moisture out of the room and worked very well, left it on half the day and the water tank was half full which does hold quite a lot of water. I’m Happy with this.
Being using this Dehumidifier for the last few months and this has really helped in resolving the moisture issue in our bedroom. Really happy with this product.
I use this in my utility room to dry clothes, and in the UK winter this made my drying time for a load of washing 18 hours instead of 4 days (the room is unheated). Continuous drain hose is great (although could have been longer), I can leave this running indefinitely. This was so effective that it drew the moisture out of the wood in my door – changing it’s shape!
have used 2 delonghi dehumidifiers in the past which gave up after about 5 years each.
Thought i would try this as a slightly cheaper option.
works exactly as described – used to dry clothes indoors and it sucks in moisture like you wouldn’t believe – tank is pretty big but it gets full up every few days.
Not very loud – but its not silent either – but i wouldn’t expect it to be.
Highly recommended
Does a great job but does freeze quickly in lower temps
I had no idea how much water there was in the air! Our back room gets quite humid so we have this set up to run for a few hours a day. It has a big tank but it pulls so much water out the air it needs emptying each week, the humidity has massively improved in the back room.
I can’t believe how fantastic this dehumidifier is you can set the timer to come on and turn off , you can use it as a fan to keep cool. It also has a child lock. It also has power to high or low speed when in normal mode. It also has a Defrosting light showing when it’s defrosting. It also shows you the humidity in your home. It has a button for drying linen, I wouldn’t be without this dehumidifier I hope this helps anyone who is thinking of buying one you honestly won’t be disappointed excellent model pro Breeze 20L
This collects a lot of water in a relatively short time. Very pleased with the amount it extracts from the air. Not overly noisy but I wouldn’t be able to sleep with this running. Good sized water water tank. Easy to empty just pull it out, tip, and slot back in easily. Good solid unit. Quite heavy to carry up and downstairs but easily moveable between rooms due to wheels on base. All in all extremely pleased with this dehumidifier and would buy again.
This thing has brought our humidity down from 90%(!!!) to 50% in 2 days. All the black mold I constantly fought with around our window has disappeared. Nothing feels damp anymore. I’m so relieved!
This is an absolute workhorse. We run it from one room all day and it seems to reduce humidity across the entire upper floor (we’re in a 3 floor terraced house; our upper floor has 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and a hallway).
If you have a large open plan space you’ll probably need something more powerful but if you just need to dehumidify 3 rooms or so, this will do the job brilliantly!
This pulls out an unbelievable amount of moisture from the air. It’s Fab. When I have washing to dry it dries so much quicker when this is switched on nearby. Super easy to move as it’s on wheels but is quite heavy to lift even when empty and is quite loud when running. But it does the job it’s meant to do so worth i
Not much to say really, at least nothing bad! It’s a dehumidifier, and it dehumidifies. It has a laundry mode for when you want to dry laundry indoors – great if you don’t have a tumble dryer or anywhere to hang it up outside. We use it for our bathroom too as it is windowless and the fan is on the fritz, it works really well. Generally it’s good for a small Scottish council flat where mould is always a threat. It only needs to be emptied once a day if we leave it running continuously, as we don’t use the drain pipe. No leaks and will simply stop running once the tank is full. Easy to move with the wheels on the bottom, and there’s a handle if you need to pick it up. We wouldn’t be able to live without a dehumidifier now, it’s a lifesaver.
This is my 2nd dehumidifier to tackle black mould. The first was the Newentor ND25 which was excellent and I would have ordered another but the delivery changed from Amazon to an overseas company with a much longer delivery time. Plus I’m always a bit wary if there are warranty issues. Amazon delivered this one again in a few days. I’ve not been disappointed in fact I’ve been amazed about how much water is extracted. I’ve used various functions:normal dehumidifier, timer, manual humidity settings and all worked fine. I’ve had a filter alarm come up and followed the manual instructions and it reset fine. I’ve only used the water bucket as I have no need for continuous drainage. The bucket is easy to remove and empty with a handy handle. It weighs around 15kg and so is fairly easy to lift or push around on its wheels. It’s controls are simple to use. Strangely enough the defrost indicator often comes on not surprisingly really as it’s set at 23C and rest assured none of my rooms run at that temperature. What this does is inhibit the dehumidifier for 5mins otherwise it seems to just function normally.
We bought this because we were getting a ridiculous amount of condensation on the windows upstairs and a small amount downstairs every single morning. It was so bad that it began causing some black mould in our daughters room. At first we bought a Karcher window vac to get rid of the condensation but soon realised that dealing with the root cause instead of reacting to the effect was a better solution. We leave this on all night and have no more issues. I’m amazed every single morning when I empty the tank and can see 2-3 litres of water that would otherwise be covering the windows and soaking into the walls, causing damp. Would highly recommend to anyone that has a condensation/damp problem in the winter months!
It is relatively quiet and does the job. Downside is the tank removal and emptying. Stiff to remove so generally slops some water out plus the design of the tank pouring is poor. There’s just this square hole on the corner and you take your chances at the kitchen sink. It fills so high you spill it more often than not across the house getting to where you are pouring it out. This is a shame as I like how quiet it is and the easy digital display and controls.
Our early-1930s house has no cavity wall insulation, and a leak in the roof caused damp areas in the kitchen. Even though the leak is now fixed, the house wasn’t really drying out and everything felt slightly clammy.
We considered hiring an industrial dryer, but my brother recommended this dehumidifier as he has been using one for a few weeks.
He was absolutely right – it’s made a very noticeable difference.
When we turned it on, the humidity level in the bedroom was around 75%, and the light glowed red to indicate that this was too high. A bit of research suggests 40-60% is a good figure to aim for in the UK.
After a couple of hours the figure dropped below 60%, and there was well over a litre of water in the tank.
In the particularly grim and damp weather we’ve been having in the week up to Christmas, the humidity in the house has dropped down to about 55%, which seems to be the best we can get for now. We move the dehumidifier every eight hours or so, and the new-build utility room which has modern insulation and underfloor heating is down at 40%. The kitchen is close behind, which is good as that’s where the roof leaked. The bedrooms have carpets, wardrobes of clothes and bedding so they are taking a bit longer to dry out, but each time we move the machine to a room, the figure is lower than before.
Both of us have found that we are sleeping better in the lower humidity. The rooms feel warmer even though the thermometer says the temperature hasn’t changed. The bed feels nice and ‘crisp’, and not clammy.
I was quite alarmed and a little disgusted how damp our house was. Apparently this is not at all unusual. The dehumidifier has made a big difference already. Although it does cost a bit to run, the improvement in comfort is worth it as far as I’m concerned, and I am confident that our heating costs will drop in the long term.
I’ve had no issues with the controls. It seems fairly intuitive. The light glows red if the humidity is too high, green if it’s OK, and blue if its really low. The tank is quite easy to empty as long as you don’t let it get completely full. The machine has wheels so it rolls from room to room easily. It’s really heavy though, so taking it up and down stairs isn’t something I enjoy doing. In our house, upstairs seems to be where it’s needed most.
Highly recommended.
Bought this as we have a constant damp problem with drying laundry in the house, the windows are always wet on the inside, especially in winter and we had noticed some mould starting to develop on the frames as well. As soon as we had this working in the laundry room the moisture disappeared and was evidenced by the full tank in the de humidifier ! It does have a pretty noisy fan but this is a small price to pay for having a much drier house ! Easy to operate and very , very effective ! Would recommend to anyone with damp problems.
We brought this as one room in our house was v damp, when it arrived we were shocked that on the digital display it said 90% humidity so I’m surprised we didn’t have more damage after 10 hours on running it has come down to 61 % and we have had to empty it once. The air feels different and no condensation on our bedroom window.
We have lived in the house since March, only noticed a problem 1st December easy fix to what seemed a big problem.
Our house suffers from typical UK seasonal damp. Old 1930’s house sealed with double glazing, cavity insulation (don’t do it) and dry clothes in the house (wife does).
Since our twins room started to get damp, black mould I sorted out possible gutter issues, loft insulation issues and moved tall futlrniture from the external walls to improve air movement and got the Pro Breeze 20l/day dehumidifier.
Being a HVAC engineer I know that this unit type benefits from the house being above 20C, and our heating is set quite warm to 21.5C.
Set the unit to 50% humidity and fan to max and left in auto mode (shuts off when about 45/48%) and put it in their room with the door shut.
Day 1, this unit ran 24/7 and removed 10+ litres. Initially the room was 75% humid. I just didn’t realise how high it was.
Day 2 to now, this unit runs on our landing as a whole house unit. It does struggle to go lower than 55% during the day, but night I put it in the twins room with the fan speed set to low.
At night the unit lowers the room to 45/48% and turns off and on as needed.
I don’t allow the heating at night to go below 19C and the heating thermostat is in their room as this does tend to be the coldest room.
As a dehumidifier goes this unit is very good.
Bought first one and it appears not working except as a fan as it did not collect any water, then I ordered second one which is working with some crackling noise but I figured out how to get rid of that noise so far happy does the job especially for drying clothes, but first one I struggled to return as amazon customer service had failed first time for a while, and really made me get tired with return as hermes didnt show up for collection 3 times, and I did call them 3 times to sort it and even offered that I can drop it myself but firat two times they said that there is no option except collection and finally third try and I got someone who understands a bit and she said if I can drop myself its fine then I dropped off and got rid of it finally…
So far so good. Bought this to try to control a damp problem in our bathroom. The damp appears to be penetrating so it comes back as soon as we stop using the dehumidifier. However it does a great job of drying the walls out while it’s on and manages to suck up a full 5.5litres in the course of the day, bringing the humidity down from around 80% to just over 40%.
Also really useful for speeding up the process of drying clothes, particularly if you have a small room to shut them and the dehumidifier in. They dry out twice as quickly as air drying alone.
All in all, a quiet, nicely designed robust little uni
20 litres per day extraction – enough for a 3 bedroom detached – and adjustable humidity settings
Touch control panel which is fairly self explanatory – laundry mode for extra fast extraction
Timer and 2 fan speeds – control panel child lock (why can’t they just leave things alone?)
Large water tank, though this is accessible only from the back and is a little fiddly to remove and replace – but it has its own handle
This is a heavy machine though – it does have castors but (like daleks) this doesn’t help when taking it upstairs
Also a touch noisy at times
Brilliant! I use this in my home gym in the garden and it keeps the moisture level below 50%. When I’m doing HIIT and Spin in the gym, yes the moisture % rises but that can be expected but it quickly falls again and within 15 min its back under 50%. The auto cut off works fine, the unit is very quiet and I can move it about on the wheels no problem. I am running it in temperatures between 16oC and 22oC, the higher the temp the quicker it removes the moisture from the air.
Great unit and I am really glad I bought this. The plasterboard in the gym is now starting to shrink its removing that much moisture.
Highly recommend this uni
only had it for a week but it is doing a really good job. Emptying it twice a day, it does not get completely full when emptied but must be drawing in 3L-4L twice a day.
It is slightly noisier than the one that it replaced, and the fan is quite powerful, even on slow, but in its primary function of extracting moisture then it performs.
Having problems with bad humidity I originally purchased the Netta dehumidifier however it didn’t work. Trying to have this problem resolved was a nightmare (sending the product back) so I decided to purchase a different model, the pro breeze is more expensive but I belive its worth it. Its really simple to use and the traffic light system helps you understand the humidity levels. I was amazed with the amount of water it collected. In my humble opinion I noticed that many people commented on the noise level however I find it no more intrusive as a fan or an electric heater, I’ve sleep with the unit in my room (however that’s just me). I would fully recommend this product. I have no issues so far!
Having no windows in the garage I was fighting a battle with damp and mould, within 8 hours it almost filled the tank with water. The shelves are drying out and the smell is going all thanks to this, it can be used in the home but is fairly noisy even in night mode.
Really liked the fact it has a timer function that can delay on as well as off operation, there is a read out of humidity but don’t know how accurate it is. There is some nice coloured LED’s showing the humidity level too, if it was to be used in a bedroom you can turn the lights and display off so won’t light the room up.
Not used the clothes drying function yet but so far very impressed, be warned it is a very heavy unit so careful carrying it upstairs there is a handle but seems a little flimsy.
It has castors so can be moved about very easy and it looks way better than the price would suggest, it would be ideal for a home office. Several people have commented about the buttons are hard to push, well that’s because they are touch sensitive not really a button at all and work well.
Overall I’m very pleased just wish I had bought one sooner.
For the size and price, this unit exceeded my expectations. During the summer we were locked down during a very hot summer so air-con seemed the way to go. A 20ft by 20ft room went from uncomfortably hot to nicely chilled in around 20 minutes.
The unit would benefit from having 2 recessed handles – one on each side. The reason for this is that it currently sports only one recessed handle to the rear, which makes moving from one room to another a bit awkward. Also, the unit needs draining from condensation build up and this is easier done if the unit is elevated on a stool or similar. Two handles would make this process much easier.
That said, I’m solidly chuffed with the purchase and the nifty remote control adds to the usefulness of the air-con. I might buy another next summer and have one upstairs too.
Weight:
It is heavy, if you have a hard floor and only need to use it on that level it won’t be an issue as it has wheels, but carrying it upstairs won’t be easy for some people.
Functionality Issue:
It sometimes doesn’t turn on the compressor, this can be resolved by turn it off and back on, I think this may be a software bug, if you are unsure if the compressor is on, touch it, it should be a low vibration, similar to the sound of a fridge.
Overall Value For Money:
Very good value for money, premium look and feel, very nice LCD screen.
Good Functions:
Timer (hrs)
Humidity Goal
Show Tempurature (hold set button)
It does consume a far bit of power, but at the same time this is wasted as heat, so while dehumidifying it will help warm up a room.
There is one review where guys dehumidifier melted. I have checked mine which was running for almost 72 hours constantly and is was barely warm. (Strong mode day silent mode night). Turned it off quickly just few times to empty the tank. People claim the top display is hard to control which is BS as I had no problems at all no matter if my hands were hot/cold/dry/wet etc. Water tank is NOT hard to remove.
Pros –
Really strong, looks good, tank is huge, the outlet for excess water can be connected to some small pipe and you can get it directly where you want it instead of the tank. It has wheels so you can move it around more-less easily. Blows air from the top under app. 45 degree angle, mixes the air and gets more humidity from the air that way.
Cons –
Surprisingly loud. Even though it has wheels, it is harder to move around. The cable is in awkward position. The water tank is easily removable, doesn’t wobble BUT when you remove it, if you shake the dehumidifier a little, that little pipe that leads the water from condensing filter to tank is full of water, it can leak and there is LOADS of water in that tiny pipe which will leave puddle at the bottom of the dehumidifier as well as the floor. it doesn’t cause damage but it is inconvenience to deal with. I learned how to empty it without puddles.
I would recommend it if you are not and absolute idiot you will have no problems with this melting, leaking or not reacting to display controls. I don’t mind it being loud as it gets TONS of water. I went to bed at 22:00, turned it on onto silent mode during the night. It said there is 62% humidity. Woke up at 05:00 for work, checked the machine, 56% humidity but the tank was HALF FULL! On silent mode (which decreases the efficiency) at 62% IT GOT 2.7 LITER OF WATER !!! Oh my goood. We use the water to water the plants. Love it. Would recommend 10/10 but read in this review what it offers just so you know what to expect.
I use this in my office cabin in the back garden, and the difference it’s made has been palpable.
First things first, though. It’s not a quiet bit of machinery. It’s also pretty hefty. What it does do, however, is an excellent job. It sucks a full 20litres out of the cabin every couple of days in humid weather, saving my books and soft furnishings in the process. The tank empties reasonably easily.
Basically, this beast does its job very well indeed, but it shouts about it.
straight out the box I was impressed with the compactness of this model. Switched it on and set it up within a minute. Easy to use instructions. Left it running starting at 76% RH and 8 hrs later it had dropped to 66% and the tank (5.5L) was full. I did not use the permanent drain facility as I wish this to be portable. The air volume and current was strong throwing the air high up into the room which means it will circulate the air in the living space ensuring a good mix. Definitely met expectations. In life you get what you pay for and whilst more than I wanted to spend it delivered.
The unit has a carrying handle which is very convenient, and the wheels may be useful as the unit is quite heavy (though no more so than one would reasonably expect).
It is relatively feature-rich with the ability to turn off the display, a timer function, two different fan speeds, various modes and a child lock for the controls. The latter is essential for me as my children fiddle with the other units that lack this feature.
The only slight negative with the unit is that the fan is quite loud so, despite the night mode and ability to turn off the display, I would not suggest deployment in a bedroom would be appropriate. I do feel the volume of operation is simply a function of its ability to extract water so a lower-powered unit would naturally be quieter and hence more suitable for a bedroom. Having said that, I don’t use dehumidifiers in the bedrooms at all, instead using this unit in the hallway (where it doesn’t disturb sleep) to dry the air for the whole floor given its capacity.
My final comment would be that my unit actually failed after several months and tripped the circuit breaker in my consumer unit. Despite this, I have given the appliance five stars because: (1) it had been superb up to that point and any appliance can fail, and (2) Pro Breeze’s customer service was amazing and they replaced my failed unit under warranty within four days of me first reporting it. As a result, I will likely buy another Pro Breeze appliance to go on the ground floor and retire one of my older, less effective units.
I am living in London UK, and there was a leak from the ground floor to the underground level, and the room there was very humid with more than 70% humidity measure and strong smell of the moisture. I immediately bought this machine and let it run, after 1 day the humidity level drop to normal level, and the next day, the smell is gone and the air is fresh again. Very effective machine!
Longer review:
I moved to London UK last year and I have been aware of the humidity here as radiator racks are equipped in every home to dry towels. Currently my home has a below-ground level which is more likely to trap the moisture, so I bought a smart home air monitor to track the humidity and the air quality. Most of the time the reading of the underground room is about 55%. Then a leak happened from the bathroom at the ground floor into the underground level, and the ceiling of the room below has visible water mark and water was dripping through the ceiling light hole. After fixing the leaking problem and cleaned the water, the room was still very humid with 70+% humidity level despite that I kept window open and a fan blowing the carpet, and there was the very unpleasant smell and I felt uncomfortable sleeping there. Concerning potential mould issue and air quality, I bought this machine immediately, and I kept it running as soon as it arrived. I started seeing the humidity level drop right away. After 1 day, the smell was gone, and the carpet was dry. The humidity restored to normal level after that. Now I kept it on with a target humidity level so it activates automatically when the level is higher because I want to keep the moisture level relatively stable to maintain a healthy bedroom environment. The tank is just the right size for one full day dehumidifying. I was thinking to get a smaller machine with smaller tank, but now I think if you have the humidity problem, then you would probably need this capacity size so you wouldn’t need to change tank before target level is reached.
I am really pleased with this product. I purchased it for my studio having recently purchased a pair of Quad speakers for my hi-fi which cost 8000. My local dealer in Shrewsbury said that ideally they should operate with 40 per cent humidity and my current reading was 75 per cent. Even Quad suggested 40 per cent! Humidity clearly affects sound quality and I noticed a distinct improvement even with 50 per cent. The machine happily does its job and I was amazed how much water had been extracted once the tank was full. It is a great product, very well made. I hope it continues to give years of use. The service from the supplier was excellent delivered well packaged and on time, my initial impression out of the box was very good, my only two issues with the unit now Ive had it a few weeks is it is noisy (in all modes) and the water tank is cumbersome to remove for emptying and has a ridiculously flimsy handle which looks like it might give way at any moment, that said the machine is very good at drawing moisture and is a good buy as long as you are very careful with the tank (and its handle) and that you don’t want to be in the same room as its pretty noisy.
We have a major issue with condensation and moisture causing Mould so decided to go for this. This does the job, after a few hours turned on there is a LOT of water that’s been taken out of the air. There is a big 20ltr tank which means you won’t be needing to empty it very often I normally empty at the end of the night. It is NOT quiet, it’s quite a loud fan noise so unless your a heavy sleeper it may bother you being on. That said there’s quite a nifty timer setting so if you do leave this on when going to bed you can sit it for however many hours you like then it will turn off. It also quite heavy to lift, carrying upstairs was a chore but it does have wheels so you can manoeuvre it around the room easy enough. All in all this is a good machine and has definitely helped remove our condensation issue. We definitely notice the difference when it is not turned on we wake up with soaking wet windows.. and bone dry when on.
All good, but two disadvantages: 1. Rather noisy, even on low fan. 2. No ‘auto’ function. I thought that when it switched off, having reduced the humidity to the set level, it would monitor and switch itself on again when the % rose again; but it doesn’t.. you have to do it manually. Not a big deal in the end, but that’s why I took one star away. Still recommended – a good-quality dehumidifier. (Good support from manufacturer too when I asked about the auto function – quick email reply).
Overall: 4.5 Stars
This product is ideal for those who desire a permanent solution to rooms prone to condensation which subsequently harbours mould , alongside condensation on the sides of windows – eliminating the task of wiping the windows daily .
Most negative reviews are based around the buttons remaining unresponsive and the water tank being problematic. As demonstrated in the video using one hand , the water tank’s removal is smooth and straightforward , certainly not problematic for current Pro Breeze Dehumidifiers. Buttons are responsive and sensitive to touch , producing a beeping noise whenever a touch is registered . This is after 3 days of use – updates will be provided should this situation change – this only applies to the buttons , as the mechanism for the water container is unlikely to become faulty .
That one review with the melted machine is rather deterring , however , Pro Breeze do provide , as shown in the photograph , an extended warranty (+ 1 Year) , abiding by the competition such as Meaco which offer two years.
The noise created isn’t particularly quiet , however this should not dissuade a purchase at this price point. It is a noise which won’t distract individuals from desk or admin work , however , sleeping may be problematic for some individuals when no more than 5 metres from the machine – absolutely no issues are generated when the dehumidifier is behind a closed door.
Two fan speeds are available , one is a lessened fan to reduce energy consumption, whereas one is a powerful fan which is employed to dramatically reduce humidity in short periods of time ( 2-3 hours in rooms of 5m x 5m)
Energy efficiency isn’t awful , costing around 1.70 to run the machine for 24 hours on maximum fan. It’s unlikely that most individuals which use the dehumidifier for 24 hours on a daily frequency continuously , once your desired humidity is reached , it is worth shutting down the machine until the humidity reaches an excess of 6% over your desired humidity – severely reducing energy consumption.
Positives : Energy efficient, different fan speeds, many modes including general use and laundry , unit is easily manoeuvred and isn’t excessively heavy , even with a full tank , display can be turned off while dehumidifier is active. Water Tank is easily removed .
Small Negatives (hence – 0.5 Stars): Backlights aren’t perfectly aligned on buttons (out by around 0.25cm in one button) – only noticeable from incredibly close distances.
The Child Lock feature is rather redundant and easily outsmarted, whilst it was likely intended to encourage families to purchase the product , it’s hardly a security feature , simply hold the Child Lock button to unlock the machine . Ultimately , this feature should be maintained , but just as a “Lock” to prevent accidental changes , no need to target children specifically . All other features are useful and necessary however .
Only other marketing improvement would be to make the 2 year warranty standard – the one year warranty was dissuasive and nearly discouraged this purchase as it was considered a risk , demonstrating a lack of confidence from Pro Breeze in the durability of their product – this is certainly not the case in reality.
Originally we were considering a 10L unit, but as we’re able to fill this unit to capacity twice a day in some instances, the 20L is appreciated. Secondary functions, like laundry drying, work superbly. It works, and it works well.
Any negatives? There are a couple of minor caveats:
– The unit beeps whenever its buttons are pressed, and there is no way to silence them that we’ve found. The beeping can be somewhat loud, or unwanted, especially if the children have been put to bed.
– The fan can sometimes produce a low hum that corrects itself when gently nudged. Hopefully, this isn’t an indication of any future problems.
Overall, though, we’re happy with this purchase and considering another for the front of the house if the unit continues to perform as it has been.
It’s pretty weighty, but for the most part it sits still, so not an issue. There’s a big carrying handle across the top, so it’s not hard to move around. Pick it up carefully if it’s full of water or it’ll slosh out the back.
My only complaint is that the control panel is very awkward to use. There’s 8 buttons on the thing, and they seem quite unresponsive to my fingers. Very cumbersome method for setting timers, cut-off thresholds, etc.
If you want it to drain externally then the piece of tubing that comes with it is only about 30cms long. I think it’s intended to be jammed down a hosepipe and taped in place. Beware that it’s not pumped out, it’s gravity fed, so i suspect you’ll make quite a mess if the other end of your hose isn’t well below the level of the outlet spout.
It’s pretty quiet on its slower setting, but i still wouldn’t want to sleep near to it. If you do then it’s probably best to leave it on permanently, since the brief clatter of the compressor starting up in hygrostatic mode is likely to be the thing that disturbs you the mos
Great looking and set it up to work in 5mins(really easy).
Have started using, hum, idity in room when first switched on was 80%, have set target to 30% butr so far its only reached 41% so am hopeing in time will be able to achive this(hope so ,if not not ideal!). If seller could advise please, its in a double averasge size bedroomk with 2 sets of large outside wall windows.
Alsp tried it on low mode overnight but quite noisy. Time will tell i guess?
I bought this based on online reviews. It is my first dehumidifier, and was bought to extract damp from a wall in a bedroom I am trying to decorate – a roofing problem, now fixed, meant that water had been dripping down an outside wall for years and had permeated through into the bedroom. I only discovered the damp when I stripped the wallpaper off. The Pro Breeze is quite heavy and noisy, but I am not a 7 stone weakling with sensitive hearing so that matters not a jot. It’s 5 litre water tank was a selling point, and it usefully has a viewing window so you can see how full it is. So far it has extracted 10 litres of water in about 3 days of being run continuously. Great effort. I am starting to see the wall drying out. Controls are intuitive and it easy to empty. I like the 2 year guarantee (you have to register for the 2nd year) and the personal contact from the company. The external drain hose (for emptying into a bucket instead of the internal tank) is a bit mickey mouse, but as it shuts off when the tank is full it is not a problem. So far I am very impressed and would recommend this Pro Breeze.
So I have had this product for over a month now, and so far so good. I use this product extensively in the bathroom in order to keep humidity levels low during a bath or shower.
After giving the walled areas of the bathroom two coats of anti-mould paint and using the dehumidifier after a shower or bath it seem to be holding the mould at bay. Its quite a heavy machine and possibly heavy to lug up and down stairs although the wheels are great for me as i scoot it between the bathroom and hallway.
Noise levels are okay for me as i set it to stay on for 2 hours after i have a shower after work usually on the lower of the fan levels. Like you i read the reviews of this before buying and noticed a reoccurring theme about the power switch. It’s delicate and i suggest touching rather than a straight hard press, again hasn’t let me down or anything. I also purchased a thermal pro hygrometer and find myself comparing the reading levels from the dehumidifier with this and other temperature variations depending on the central heating ( sad but interesting ).
all in all quite pleased with the purchase only a fix until i have a proper fan fitted into the bathroom wall which is the easy bit, until you look at the cost of architectural approval and other permissions and plans that you need when you live within a block of flats ( doh ! ) Hope this helps.
Myself and my partner had recently moved into a new house and wanted something that could just take the edge of the moistness in the air and allow us to dry are cloth more quickly without having to wack the heating up, as we currently dont have space for a dryer.
When looking for a dehumidifier what really stood out to us about the Probreeze, was firstly it just looks alot better then other options om the market. Instead 9f a dull grey rectangle, the lines on the sides and the controls on the top have a high tech look. Making it less of an eyesore and nicer to keep out in the room.
Secondly it was one of the few with full timing options. With a 24 hour timer it worked much better with both of us working long and inconsistant hours. Setting the machine to turn of made us feel better in an power saving and environmental light.
Finally i guess i should say that it works brilliant. Has a decent size tank so your not jumping up to empty it every hour and runs nice a queitly so we can watch tv in the next room while running no problem. Its also priced really well compared to other on the market. Would say without a doubt the best dehumidifier for the home in its price bracket.
Would highly recommend for people looking for a convient compact and stylish little machine to make things round the house that bit easier.
After a couple of days my home feels drier, fresher and warmer.
This is our first dehumidifier and we really needed it to do a good job to help with a damp cottage. We have been blown away by the speed in which the machine takes the moisture out of the air. Within less than three hours, we had over two litres in the collector.
The machine is really easy to set up, the buttons are self explanatory – it was probably harder to get it out of the box that it was to set it up and get it working.
If you are looking for a really powerful dehumidifier to get quick results, then I would highly recommend the Probreeze 20l. We have been really impressed.
I have been using this product for the last couple of weeks. Delivery was quick (next day) and within minutes we were up and running. I have the unit sited in my conservatory which is usually very damp as there is no heating other than what comes through from the kitchen. Within a day the walls and windows were dry and the water collector has been full every two days. I have put some washing close by and with the laundry function it is quickly dry. Very pleased with this item and would recommend it.
I’ve had this running for about a week and it’s brought my 70%+ relative humidity down to the low 60s and upper 50s. It’s an upgrade I decided I needed as my previous dehumidifier was losing the fight against the seasonal increase in humidity in my area and so far I’m very pleased. The built in hygrometer seems almost a bit too sensitive, as while my standalone reader I bought months ago presents a reading and only goes up or down occasionally, the one on this unit can sometimes jump up or down within the same minute. There’s also a bit of a discrepancy between the two, with this one reading a higher percentage than my standalone, but I technically can’t figure out which of the two is the one that’s actually off.
I can regularly dump a full tank when I wake up in the morning, when I return from work, and before I go to bed. It’s not always 100% full at those points, but usually pretty close.
I’ll be using the drain hose when I go on vacation this summer, but it seems a bit short.
Overall, I’m happy with this purchase.
I had a problem with moisture from the shower and kitchen condensing on cold walls causing black spots of mould to appear and paint to flake off. After thoroughly cleaning all the walls and using this dehumidifier for a month, the walls are free of any damp or mould.
– The controls are easy to use, the buttons are touch-sensitive and don’t require any pressure to use.
– The settings are fairly intuitive, one button to cycle through the modes and a few other buttons to set those modes where you want them. The instructions that come with it are nice and clear. Personally, I will set it to auto at 50%RH in the bathroom when I have a shower. When 50% is reached, I’ll move it back to the kitchen, set it on auto at 60%RH and forget about it.
– The carry handle and wheels work well making it easy for me to move between upstairs and downstairs, although it does have a bit of weight to it.
– Emptying the unit is easy, the reservoir just slides out of the back and slides back into place with a click. There is an indicator on the LCD screen which comes on when the reservoir is removed, and goes off when it’s clicked back into place properly.
– It is somewhat noisy, but then all powerful dehumidifiers are. It isn’t a problem for me personally as it’s only out the kitchen or in the bathroom, but I probably wouldn’t want it running in the same room I was watching TV or something.
– The amount of moisture it gathers is incredible. The relative humidity in my bathroom will reach 90% when the shower is on. Within 10 to 20 minutes, it’s back down to 50% and the walls remain dry. My kitchen has no heating so without the dehumidifier the RH was usually between 70% and 80% during colder months. The dehumidifier will maintain it at about 60% without having to run constantly. I’ve yet to have any damp or mould on the walls while using it. As it is cold, the unit will switch into defrost mode fairly often, but it’s all automatic so no need to worry about it.
Overall, I’m very happy with it. You get a lot more for your money than similarly priced dehumidifiers from other brands. This is usually a sign of dodgy build quality or reliability, but so far it has worked flawlessly.
What I can say is that I have been using it for 6 months now and it has passed with flying colours. Ok, we only live in a small property, a studio flat and the dehumidifier is designed to cope with more square metres. However, we started our new dehumidifier at the start of the rain season (which means 3-4 months of temperatures of 25-35 degrees with nearly rain every day). For the first few weeks it was able to reduce the humidity in our flat from 65% humidity to below 55%. After about a month it did so well that it could easily bring the humidity below 50%.
This has also made a marked difference within the home. Before, our bathroom towels would smell musty after 2 days and so we would need to replace towels after a couple of uses. Since having the dehumidifier we can use our towels for the week before replacing. Realising how our towels wasn’t drying quick enough and becoming musty without the dehumidifier had help me realise how much healthier it is to have this item at home in general.
So as a dehumidifier the Pro Breeze does what it says it will do. It is also very easy to use with its different options. The clothes drying option is brilliant and can dry clothes within the hour. Also, being that we live in a small property, noise was also a concern for us. I have to say that the Pro Breeze is very quiet and had the option to go to a slower speed in case that you are more sensitive to noise. To be honest, our air conditioning unit is noisier than this. Also, the option of the drainage pipe means that we can keep this on while we are away with no fear that mold would develop in our flat.
This has honestly been one of our best purchases and would highly recommend this to anyone.
Noise of fan reasonable for size of dehumidifier. On wheels so very easy to move. Large water tank, easy to empy and has a carrying handle so very easy to carry to sink/drain to empty.
Extremely pleased with it; it is excellent value for money.
Only con: rather loud in any mode.
It is portable.
It is quite heavy, but it has wheels fitted, so the weight isn’t really an issue.
If it is to be used in the same place continually, a drain connector is included. However, mine is used continually in auto mode and in two weeks, I have only had to empty the tank twice.
The controls and display are all simple, clear and touch-sensitive.
I am delighted with the product, the price and the service, so I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
