This works great for my son’s PS5. The way they are made you really need this because the faceplate it has didn’t have a cooling vent. Great price.
I understand Sony wanted to do something different (from ps2-4). But this looks right.
Also don’t listen to any clowns talking about changing Sonys “intended design”. If they’ve ever looked at a PS5, they’d realize they’re incorrect and doesn’t affect any components.
Did what it was designed to do and fitted well. Not sure why Sony decided it was a good idea to block the console fans on their OEM cases, but the physical heat level throughout the entire console has been significantly reduced after several hours of play time with the new case plates on it. Good buy for the money and a must if you’re a gamer that plays for hours at a time!
Its smooth texture, nice color and fitment is good.
Its not perfect as OEM but probably built stronger.
Can’t forget that cooling option on these plates to help keep our HOT PS5’s cooler than OEM.
Must have to remember to blow out this unit at intervals to help mitigate overheating caused by dust buildup and keep cooling efficiency, not only the face plates but the fans as well…

I like that this product was easy to replace the original plates, it fixed the overheating problem my ps5 had and it looks so much cooler than the standard white plates
he fan vents were the biggest selling point on this for me. The sleek black look is an added bonus. I love how my devices stays cooler with these added vents. The quality of the material is very similar if not the same as the ps5 shells and looks great when you have rgb included in your system like I do. The vents shine and the entire system has a completely different look to it. Highly recommend this accessory if you have a ps5

This is an amazing accessory for a 3rd party item, usually after half an hour my ps5 was hot at the back even though I keep it well spaced out for ventilation. But I’ve played horizon forbidden west using the new plates for an hour and the console was still cool as if I’d just turned it on! Well recommended for gamers out there, couldn’t be happier! I’m really surprised sony didn’t think of this for the official plates on the console as it’s so much better.
I’m wondering why the ps5 doesn’t ship with these as standard. They definitely need the vents, the console is very noisy and overheats if you have it in a tv unit, when I bought these, the console is so quiet you don’t even know it’s on and the heating issue is minimised in a big way. Great product and value for money.

The only third party faceplates (other than DBrand) which come with the fan vents, and the PS5 definitely benefits from this. Can’t fault the build quality, super easy to fit, and look great. Can highly recommend these.
This is a great add on to my PS5 to keep the machine cooler and protected. Having kids around a machine that is so expensive is scary so we found that this case was the best choice for us. Works really nicely.
Awesome touch to my console. Makes much more sense than buying a fan and taking up a USB port.
If you’re worried about dust, you can find a way to attach a piece of a dryer sheet on the inside of the vents, those are anti-static anyway.

Comme je suis un gamer non stop, j’ai vu immdiatement la diffrence. Mme avec un dissipateur thermique, c’tait chaud. Avec ses coques, j’ai pu jouer a Elder Ring pendant plus de 10 heures. Gnial
It was really easy to put on my ps5 and the vent works very well. My system doesn’t get hot nor does it overheat. It’s really cool that these plates even came with a cooling vent. Great idea.
Unlike the Sony OEM plates, they can be obtained for a reasonable price. Being black, they match the PS5 to my other audio/video components and should help it blend in with most TV and home theater setups. Their material quality is on par with the OEM plates, even down to the exterior texture, which feels virtually identical. For obvious trademark reasons, gone is the Sony geometric button pattern that lived on the interior side of each plate. It was a neat but pointless detail that can only be seen when closely examining the console – no great loss.
Installation couldn’t be simpler, and will take less than a minute if you follow the included instructions. Yes, if you aren’t familiar with how to remove the PS5 faceplates — which Sony made a bit tricky for the uninitiated — you should take 30 seconds and read the instructions. Your PS5 and your knuckles will thank you.
Aesthetics are of course subjective but personally, I love the way they look. The PS5 looks less like a toy and more like a premium A/V component with these replacement plates installed. I initially thought that I might not like the fan vent “bumps” but when viewing the PS5 from its normal position in my setup, they honestly don’t bother me at all.
So lets discuss those fan vents shall we. Are they potentially harmful to your PS5? Highly unlikely. As another review also mentioned, a trusted expert in thermal testing (Gamer’s Nexus) did extensive testing on the PS5, which included thermals under load with the faceplates removed. Though not an identical scenario to using vented faceplates, it is similar enough to draw parallels. The aforementioned testing showed that without faceplates, there was no degradation in cooling performance and potentially a small improvement for a few specific components.
As far as performance is concerned, I’ve been using the new plates for over a week and nothing has changed. I’ve had absolutely zero issues; the PS5 isn’t noticeably louder, the disc slot works as it should, etc. With all that in mind, the one possible negative influence of the additional fan vents is faster dust buildup. I have absolutely no evidence to suggest that such will be the case but when you change the path of air intake, which the vents absolutely do, the potential exists.
Dust buildup is influenced far more by the conditions within your home — pets, climate, carpet, etc. — than anything else, however. Regardless, it is very easy to clean the dust out of a PS5 with just a can of air (or better yet, a data vac) so do it regularly every couple of months and you should be fine.
So let’s wrap this up… If you like look of the white Sony OEM faceplates and are considering replacing them only because you want to improve the cooling performance of your PS5 then I would recommend not doing so. The stock PS5 cooling solution is perfectly adequate so save your money. If you want to change the look of your PS5 then these faceplates are a great choice. They are reasonably priced, made of quality material, install easily, function as expected and in my opinion, look great. Highly recommended.
Didn’t realize that this was for a disc PS5 and we have the digital PS5. My mistake. But the material seems nice and study. Was able to use the side without the disc slot and it fit good. Would recommend for the disc PS5 lol!

GamersNexus did thermal testing on the PS5 and their results indicated that removing the side panels on the PS5 help the fan keep the RAM chips cooler than with the side panels installed. A design like this product should be able to facilitate the same thing. The RAM chips are the hottest components inside the PS5, because the cooling solution focuses mostly on the APU. As ever, you should take what any random review says with a grain of salt.
