I hated have a charging cable on my head trying to play golf, while up moving around. With this battery I can play all night and still have battery.
Using this battery does add am extra 5-6 hours on a full charge and is definitely worth it in price. The only issue I see with it is the amount of time it takes to charge the actual battery itself. Otherwise this a must if you plan to stay in VR for extended periods of time
I haven’t tested exactly how much time this provides, but I get tired and need a break before the battery ever gets low.
I could only get about 5 or 6 hours out it. But it makes the quest 2 so much more playable. For the price it’s worth it. I bought one for my brother. He liked it so I bought one for my self. Weight wise it’s not that bad. Kind of a counter balance for the mask so I found it took less force to keep it on my face. All in all I recommend you pick one up.
I bought as a skeptic but I am convinced this is the best accessory I could have purchased for my oculus.
I would have given five stars but there is a small issue. This product has 3 plugs in. One for the product to be charged, one to connect and charge the VR headset and one for the accessories. Unfortunately, the third plug in doesn’t work with my USB type-C wired earbuds. Overall, the product does exactly what it’s supposed to do.
Unless you plan on playing your quest in 30 minute increments or connected to a power cable this is absolutely necessary.
It does take a while to get used to getting the headset on and off but it becomes second nature in no time.
If the quest is heavy on your neck already it may not be good to add weight to it, but if you’re like me and just felt like it was always pulling forward on your head this is perfect. It really does distribute the weight from the quest from pulling forward on your face to a more crown/cap style weight, from the top.
Great product, easy to install on my headgear and now I can play for hours without worrying about running out of battery.
I’ve tested many battery solutions on my different strap replacements and this is by far the best solution and it never smacks you in the head or falls off like others do.
I tested this on the strap that comes with the Quest 2, the oculus elite battery strap (my fav actually), kiwi’s head strap and the Bobo head strap.
It’s not necessarily intended for anything but the original strap but it easily fits on other straps. You just attach it to the strap going front to back and rest it’s weight on the rear head support as much as possible. Works for just about everything.
In this config (especially with the Oculus brand battery strap) you can play for quite a long time. The quest 2 will draw most of its power from an external battery but also draws from itself to (I assume) let the charging circuitry cool and the HMD battery as well.
So when my elite battery Hits 55% I tap the button and tum on this which will start charging the battery in the strap. That’s allot of battery life. You will quit before it does.
I also use the battery to charge the battery strap and the quest 2 (obviously) but I wouldn’t recommend charging something with the battery while also charging it back up. I also would only charge it until I see the 2nd zone filled, then I’ll wait about 45 min and stop charging. That should make sure it charges plenty but stays below. 85%. 85% is the most you should charge a lithium battery if you want to get the most charge cycles out of it. If you’re not using it for 2+ weeks drain it to 40%. You should also never let it get below about 10% power for maximum battery health.
Increased my playtime by many hours. Also adds a nice counterweight. I’d say it’s over priced, but it does a good job. Long charge time though.
This battery adds plenty of time to my gaming easy to install and comfortable to wear on my head for while I’m gaming
First off you don’t even know that this is on your head once you get the headset on, was really surprised by that. If you looking for a power pack for quest 2 you can’t go wrong with this. Recommended this to a few friends to and they were also happy with it.
First off it is a nice design. But i give it 4 stars because the directions on how to install it are not up to pare.
I purchased this with a head set that it said it would fit on. Not so much. It really is designed for the head set that comes with the oculus 2 not an after market head set. With some tweaking and just winging it i got it to fit on my head set.
But it does as it say it will do. So it makes it nice to be able to play with out having a cord plugged in to charge after the 2hrs is up on my oculus 2. I can keep playing for longer.
First of all, everyone giving this product 1 star because it “doesn’t function properly” probably didn’t even bother taking two seconds of their time to fully read the guide included in the box. This pack works like a charm, really does balance out the weight on the oculus, and adds hours of extended gameplay, while being perfectly comfortable. I’d buy this over the Elite strap + battery any day. For the price, you honestly can’t beat it. Now I will say it does take some time to fully charge (about 3-4hrs, idk I honestly didn’t time it) but once it’s fully charged, you’ll enjoy hours of gameplay without worrying about battery life. I have a friend who bought the elite strap with battery for the oculus, and this battery pack out did that, and then some. Really do recommend.
Despite all the negative reviews – which seem to be mainly around a company in the Netherlands – I got this from Amazon direct, and so far (one week later) it seems to be pretty good.
Attaching if to an elite head strap was fairly simple, although it does sit more on top of the head rather than at the back – but it’s still fairly comfortable.
The connection cable does pop out now and again if you don’t give it enough slack, and they should have colour coded the ports as it’s easy to plug in the recharge to the output port by mistake. It does take a long time to recharge – and don’t use a long usb cable as it will add hours to the charge time – but these are the only minor issues so far.
Played HL Alyx wireless for around 7 hours which was great, and the pack doesn’t seem to get hot at all.
I’ll update in a few weeks – but so far as a fairly hardcore Quest 2 player it’s been a great addition to my ki
I just got it and it works as said. Only thing that bothered me was it took a long time over 12 hours to put a full charge in it when connected to VR, I love that it does not seem to add a heavy weight to your head. It is very comfortable
Good product. I would have liked a way of removing it from its holder, so as to charge it separately whilst playing.
Adds another 4+ hours to the battery life so running out mid game is no longer a problem.
The extra battery life is great. My only complaint is that it adds the extra weight to your head. Highly recommended
Have owned for a bit over two months now. The battery works great and extends the battery life as promised. By placing the battery back on the back of the strap as shown, it really helps balance things out and makes the Oculus more comfortable. We did try pairing it with the oculus elite strap but ended up liking it better the with the standard strap and returned the elite strap.
Only real complains is the cord from the battery to the headset isn’t the best quality. The cord broke internally within about a month and a half. Replaced it with a better cord and its working fine again. For people saying that the battery pack stopped charging and turns itself off after a minute, it’s likely a damaged cord.
I bought one for my sons Oculus Quest 2 and One for myself. These batteries are easy to install on the Kiwi elite strap and Give us both extended playing. My son would complain about playing time ,but not anymore! He actually quits playing before the battery is even close to dying! A Must purchase for Oculus Quest short battery life!
Definitely get if you longer in game time and a better balance of weight on your headset.
Obviously this will add a small amount of weight to your over headset weight but with me noticed no additional neck strain while playing or discomfort while wearing. Yes there are other battery options out there but for me the ability to the Quest 2 internal battery and this at the same all while connected made it an easy choice for me.
This thing is great at extending your playing time. When you play Oculus you are definitely going to want to play longer than the battery allows. Just know that it does take a very long time to charge, mine came with no charge at all so I had to charge overnight. It actually took so long to charge, I thought it might be defective but it’s not. You charge it directly plugged into the wall, with the headset power plugged into the battery pack, and both charge that way. The way I use it is to let the Oculus battery drain and when I get the low battery notification on screen I click the battery pack, just make sure to double click it off when done. It’s not made to fit the Kiwi head-strap I purchased but I made it work by strapping it in upside down. It does add weight but it’s a good thing because it balances the weight on your head since the front of the Oculus is naturally heavier.
Battery on the oculus isn’t vary good for gaming it’s flat before you no it but with this add on I played for two hours I was still on 100%
I bought this right after getting a Quest 2. I wanted to play for more than a few hours and this has been amazing. The battery last a long time. You can charge the headset while charging the battery and it’s fairly comfortable. When I first put it on I thought ok this is a little different but once I adjusted the headset strap it worked great. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy playing long hours
Was a Christmas gift for my son. Easy instructions and easy to install. Haven’t really tested the battery life yet, but working on it.
Works great, adds a little weight, but you get used to it. Really does last about 8 extra hours. Works good to fast charge other devices as well.
I’m sure this battery works, but the heft, and possibly my inability to mount it well, made my oculus way less comfortable. That said, I don’t want to be unfair, it does absolutely charge the oculus quest 2 well, and I’ve found use for it as a battery back up.
Just got mine in yesterday for my quest 2. Super heavy really got to get used to the weight in the back or on top depending where you have it on your strap but other than that the battery life is amazing just as advertised on my first pull I got about 8.5 hours out of it maybe 9 & wasn’t too hard to figure out.
Comfortable, long lasting, and cute. Enough about me though, this product is awesome!
Works good but it’s hard to set up with an after market strap.
Have yet to see battery below 100%. Extremely happy, seems more comfortable now with weight more evenly distributed.
It was hard to attach at first but now thst we have figured it out it’s amazing it will charge the unit as you are playing
If you want more time in VR this works a charm. The added power will give you 8 to 10 hours (approx) running. The best feature is how this fits to the original strap and works as a counter weight. I haven’t used it on the elite but it wouldn’t fit a 3rd party strap I had. I understand this was designed to fit the original and the elite so if you have something else you may need to switch back. I switched back to my original and honestly my quest has never been comfier. Though the weight of a quest isn’t alot, prolonged use does put some strain on your neck. This balances the whole thing.
I am so glad that I bought this. I am now able to get a full 90-minute Supernatural workout in without having to charge the battery. And, the best part, this external battery will last days without a re-charge.
Easy to use and attach to my quest 2.Had no problems as yet very happy with this product.
If you own an oculus you will know the battery is appalling, this is a must, helps with beating those pesky leaderboard toppers on top pro putt that’s a must buy aswell and walkabout putt, I was looking at this on their American website and would cost me over 100 quid and lucky amazon had a few selling
Adds more hours of game time than you probably need and functions as a perfect counterweight for the quest 2 HMD.
I attached it to my adjustable headset. It connects really good and gives me the freedom and excrement time I need.
It isn’t that easy to attach to all headset straps, but the functionality of the product is great.
it is a good product but i dont get 8 hours but i do run it on 120hz so that uses more power but if i run it on 90 i do get 8 of game play i get like 5-6 hours on 120hz
bought a few backup batteries for the oculus 2 but this one is far the bes
I Love the product! I use it to power my Oculus Quest 2.
I really love this battery pack,i waited to write a review,i ordered it sept.8 and its still doing its job,i can take my time emersed in experiences and documentrys on my oculus,i would recommend this,if you like long play time in vr.
I purchased this for my oculus quest 2 and its amazing I can play for longer easy to use and makes the quest 2 more comfortable to wear and it takes the weight from the front of the oculus absolutely worth the money…
This lovely battery pack easily doubles the playtime and I have not had to stop my VR play session because of the battery going flat.
It was not designed to go on my 3rd party headstrap but I made it work regardless.
The weight of the battery is a great counter weight and makes wearing the headset easier for those long sessions.
It does make it not fit into any of the Quest 2 carry cases the way I have it set up.
I bought it for about $109 and that was $100 cheaper than the Elite Strap. I would prefer the slickness and form factor of the elite strap with battery but it was not worth the extra $100 in my opinion.
brilliant , highly recommend , was going to buy official oculus battery head band but this works grea
A game changer for the quest, no more stopping play to charge, and it helps balance the front-heavy headset too. All at a great price, a must have for quest owners
Great rechargeable battery pack. Fits well on the headset and delivers extra game time.
This battery can provide up to over 8 extra hours of play time. The problem with the quest is that you for the most part will never reach this 9 hour playtime. This also does allow for counter balance for the headset itself and fits nicely with most head straps. But I can honestly only seeing this perfect for extended use away from keeping it powered. I would recommend it because its defiantly nice to have the ability to not need to plug the quest 2 in after ever play session if you take the device with you on business trips or while traveling.
Great bit of kit. I bought a USB c switch so I can turn the connection on and off.
So I use the oculus and when down to 20 percent I flick the switch and the battery kicks in.
Really really good battery , you don’t even notice it’s there and you no longer have to worry about charging the headset after every use.
This item is brilliant!!
It can triple your game time on your quest, not sure about 8 hrs though but you’ll get at least 3 or 4 which should be plenty!!
This is a fantastic piece of VR kit. It gives 8 hours extra on low Res settings, about 4-5 hours with the Quest 2 on max settings.
Easy to fit and acts as a good counterweight balancing the unit.
A must have product if you want to increase the playtime of your headset!
Certainly provides a lot of additional hours use on my Quest 2
Writing this as an update to my first review 11 days ago which you can see below.
Ok, so, I don’t know what happened. The first 10 days I used the stock strap with this battery pack, it was super comfy. Then I started feeling the weight on my face. Surely I would get used to it as time went on and not the other way round? Anywho. What finally made me try the elite strap again is when my husband purchased ‘Thrill of the Fight’ and the stock strap kept coming off from the top due to the pull of the battery pack when making quick movements. Well, let’s just say that the ‘unusably heavy with the elite strap’ comment I made below seems just a tad bit dramatic now, haha! This does work very well with the elite strap. Comfy and secure. Maybe I just needed to get used to it. 🙂
My original advice still stands though: try this with the stock strap first before you purchase the elite strap! But if you are going to be playing sporty games, then the elite strap might be necessary to secure everything in place.

*Original review*
Please bear in mind that I’m writing this review after a day’s use. Will update if anything changes. 🙂
I got this and the Quest 2 yesterday, with the elite strap delivered today.
Good news: Works with both the stock and elite straps. Did not find it difficult to install at all in either case. The necessary extras for the elite strap was included in the box. Haven’t had the chance to drain the battery but after about 4 hours, it was on 25% battery (1/4 showing on the light indicator) whilst the Oculus was on about 77%. Slightly less than advertised but I am pretty damn happy with that. Extremely comfortable on the stock strap.
Bad news: the counterweight effect is gone when used on the elite strap. In fact, I will be selling the elite strap. It’s unusably heavy with this on. I think it’s because of the position this ends up being (top of your head). If you’re a new or about-to-be quest owner, please do yourself a favour and try this with the stock strap for a few days before shelling out on another 49 for the elite strap.
Straps aside, this was an incredibly worthwhile purchase. Highly recommended.
This is a great add-on for the oculus quest 2 and it helps the headset last around 8 hours instead of the usual 2. The power bank can be put on the elite strap very easily if you follow the instructions of the youtube video, it is also very comfortable and acts as a counter weight. The power bank can fit in the official oculus case while the headset and controllers are in it too, if you do some manoeuvring. All in all great add-on for the price. In the picture of the case being closed the power bank is in the case with the vr headset and controllers, just to show it will close when they’re in.
At first I struggled a bit to attach it. But I watched a YouTube video and managed really well. I haven’t needed to remove it adjust it since and that was weeks ago.
I have a cheaper Chinese equivalent to the elite strap with a front halo and slightly different design to the officially supported straps. However, it’s pretty flexible so with a bit of tinkering from the suggested config, it fits firmly.
The thing itself lasts for ages! Literally like 5 hours. Then you’ve got the internal battery life on top of that.
I do notice the weight of it slightly. It is more than a counterweight for the headset itself, but if you place the main body of it a bit higher up, then it’s not a significant issue. I can certainly forget about it easily.
It looks cool too. For 60 it was a total no-brainer. No longer do I have to worry about how long I’ve got left until I need to plug in. Especially useful if playing with friends and it’s in constant use for hours. I wouldn’t want to be in VR for more than 6 hours straight so as long as you plug it in when you’re resting, you’ll always have wireless VR!
Exceeded my expectation you can game for over 8hrs and no more picking up device and it has run out of charge.
A little pricey I feel for what it but it works well. I have used Velcro to strap it to the back of my HTC Vive Deluxe audio strap (Frankenquest mod).
Using it on the quest 2 with the elite strap. Bit annoying to get attached but when its on it stays. Great battery and balance weight, noticeable comfort improvement. 9/10 ( con is its quite heavy and does increase the weight of the headset a lot but if you have a big head like myself its no issue
Amazing and adds to much play time to the quest that with fast charge that i’ve never ran out of battery while play with my quest 2.
while not design to be sued with the quest 2 or the htc deluxe audio strap i found i could easily install it upside down and act as a perfect counter weight making my headset really comfortable
Looks really great esp with the light on the back of the head… very cyber punk
Exactly as described in review at uploadvr-dot-com, which is why I chose it.
It has 3 type-C sockets: Right input for charging it at 2.1A; Middle output for charging/powering the Quest at 3A; Left output for powering another accessory at 1A (I think think this is intended for Rebuff’s ‘VR Ears’ off-ear spacial headphones).
It serves 2 main functions; increases battery life by several times, and equally importantly acts as a counterweight to reduce pressure on your face. You feel the added inertia when rapidly turning your head, but thats unavoidable.
It improved my overall experience of using the Quest headset considerably; I went from tolerating the Quest for about 1hr at a time to easily using it for nearly 4hrs straight.
While it can’t work with Oculus Link because it doesn’t pass data though itself, this isn’t important to me as I don’t own a PC powerful enough to run that sort of content.
Pros: multiplies battery life; improves comfort; fits in with design aesthetic of headset; easy to fit; switches itself off if un-used for a time.
Cons: pricey outside USA; while it feels firmly attached, velcro on the mounting straps doesn’t seem to grip itself very strongly, perhaps best not remove/refit it too often; does not support Oculus Link.
