Really good picture gives me piece of mind when away from the stables, not tried the sound yet I have an ee SIM card for this item all very good . This camera was recommended by a friend with a similar set up with no electric for her horses

    Really easy to set up

SUPERB! Installled to over see a nice car and works purrfectly! Worringly, it also picks up neighbours whom you thought you could trust not to venture onto one’s own property and they do to let their dogs wee & poo!
    Well worth the money!

I dreaded setting this up after a previous brand had not gone without a hitch when setting up.
This was download the app, charge the battery, insert EE card and it worked instantly.
Good enough picture quality, though previous camera was clearer, alerts work well and you can set for more or less, no complaints so far.

Good quality, charges the battery via solar panel.
Motion detector good but has missed a couple of things despite being on the most sensitive setting for detection. Otherwise it is fantastic technology.

Easy to install, solar panel keeps battery topped up even on dull days. Good picture quality and motion sensor/recording spot on. Audio a little patchy but adequate
I can keep my eye on my off grid stables 24/7 so gives peace of mind

First impressions out of the box are of a nicely made, quality camera. In the box with the camera is a solar panel with a very long cable and even a camouflage cover for the camera which helps protect it from the effects of global warming. The camera and panel are easy to put up – extra screws are provided for those who, er, screw it up 🙂 You’ll need to buy an STD card and sort out a SIM-only deal – I’m using a 64gb card and have a 3gb per month deal with Lebara for a fiver a month. Once up and running, the camera uses hardly any data unless you sit there watching it for ages – that will definitely chew up your data package. The settings allow you to adjust a lot of stuff, including push notifications, sensitivity and recording parameters. The solar panel does actually work really effectively – make sure you charge up the battery to 100% before installation and it will stay charged up.
The only reason I’ve deducted a star is because viewing (especially recorded clips) can be very glitchy and take several attempts to load (of course, this could be down to the quality of phone service, but I’m not convinced). The field of vision isn’t huge but it’s more than adequate to cover a driveway, a patio, a front door or the neighbour’s cat using your flower beds as a toilet. Also, if you don’t get the sensitivity levels right, you’ll get a notification every time a leaf blows in front of the lens!
This is a very neat bit of equipment that provides everything you want from a security camera without having to plug it into the mains or use wifi. Recommended.

Set up is fairly striaghtforward, although scanning the QR code was tricky and I had to resort to typing in the number. Otherwise, with a SIM card from Vodafone for 5 (including 3 months charges) and a micro SD card it was a simle enough task to get this operatonal using the free app.
It is installed in an area where I cannot use the solar panel, and in a high up position (probably too high), meaning it is not easy to acces it to recharge the battery. But the battery lasts for ages – even after 4 weeks it was still at 40%. The image quality is fair. Detection seems good, although with sensitivity at 100% it reacts to too many trivial movements. I found that 80% is about right for limiting detection to people and vehicles. The lag between detection and being warned is a few seconds – probably depends on the mobile signal. Viewing what the camera sees is easy with the app.
Be careful when taking it down to recharge the battery – I forgot about the small spigot inside the mount and lost it! But thanks to excellent support from Reolink who sent me a replacement, I had it operational fairly quickly again.
Overall, this is a good option for locations with no power supply but with a mobile phone signal.

We needed security cameras on an empty property without electricity or broadband etc hoping to stop window breakages. We bought two cameras hoping they would deliver as stated. All activity is sent to our phone apps and is very clear and if required we can hold a conversation with anyone there. Activity is also recorded. After a few weeks the batteries are still fully charged with use of the solar panels. Excellent product so far.

I was worried about setting this up but it is SO easy!! The only difficulty I had was in deciding on whose sim card I would use. I chose EE because of signal reception, but they were not the cheapest. I didn’t initially buy a SD card but relented when I realised I couldn’t play back previous videos online unless I had one. I’m now getting on a bit, I know, but this seems like ‘magic’. So easy, so useful and, I think, a reasonable price

We have two of these now. I gave 4 stars as connecting is not always easy (it relies on network connection so can be patchy) which can be frustrating. The good out ways the bad for sure as being able to have a live camera where there’s no electricity or WiFi is such a relief! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.
One thing I would like to see improvement on is the ability to read temperature.
    Great camera 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe cameras work perfectly. Very easy to set up. Solar panel keeps it charged even during winter. Cannot fault them and would highly recommend. The added extras of being able to speak to your horse/hear what is going on and also an alarm are great.

Wouldn’t now be without this camera. It’s been up for about 2 weeks, gave it a full charge at home and placed the solar panel up high and it satisfactory trickle charges and has stated at 100% battery life despite the dull weather in the UK. I have a 4g sim to keep a stream and the quality is amazing. It gives me peace of mind knowing my yard is safe and my horses can be viewed at any time. I recommend this product so highly that I’m purchasing another one to direct the opposite way for full all round coverage. 5

wanted this to monitor a rarely used gated entrance and bin storage area, looking to spot fly tippers for example.
Wasn’t sure initially of its suitability, but few options on the market so have it a try.

It’s superb! Installed it 12 days ago with the solar panel and have been on holiday travelling the UK since then. I receive alerts (easily modified to suit your specific requirements) on the App on my smart phone and can instantly playback any or all of the individual captures which have been initiated by the motion detector. Initially found the motion detector was too sensitive and was initiating with all the passing traffic and pedestrians, however, am able to remotely tweak the settings as required, so currently only getting notified when people or vehicles coming in to the vicinity I am interested in – currently about 6 per day. The video quality is excellent and able to freeze frame and capture images easily straight to my photos app where can easily identify number plates for example (toggle quality to ‘clear’ not fluent in playback). Still playing with the controls, but so far so good. Not rated night vision, as so far not had any experience of it plus we’re in the middle of Summer here so only dark for a few hours.
I have a 64gb MicroSD installed and it loops (overwrites oldest footage when full), but so far have still got all the captured videos (approx 70 videos each between 11 and 18 seconds long, from the last 11 days). Obviously you can save any captures directly to your phone/pc or to the cloud, though not tried the latter yet.
I received a Vodafone V Sim with the camera and once I’d set it up, works great (as long as you have 3 or 4G coverage where your siting the camera) for 4 a month (bargain). I did have a few issues getting the sim enabled.
All in all, a very robust solution.

Using this in conjunction with a Vodafone V-sim and the little solar panel that comes with it to provide security on a plot where we are building a new house.

A little bit tricky to set up, but got there in the end.

First camera would set up ok, but after leaving alone for an hour or so would not reconnect. Had some toing and froing with ReolinkEU via Amazon seller messages, but after a few e-mail exchanges, they sent a new camera which works perfectly.

I connect with the mobile phone App and Reolink PC app regularly, and the battery seems to be well supported by the solar panel.

PC app seems to have a few issues compared to Android App (can’t get playback to work on PC, but fine on Android), but overall very good.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI have always used cameras that are attached to wifi and this would be the first time I have tried a mobile 3G/4G alternative as the location of the camera does not have any Wifi signal. I was very sceptical how well this camera could work from its signal strength connection, to its battery life.

    *** Installation: ***

Nothing terrible and installation is the same as with any other camera. It comes with some raw plugs as well as the needed screws. It has templates for both the camera base and the solar panel base so you know where to drill the holes. You might need a spare phone to activate the Vodafone SIM card.

    *** Connection ***

The camera comes with a data only device specific Vodafone SIM card and the subscription comes to 4 a month for unlimited data for this device only. This is, I think, the cheapest data only sim around. However, make sure that you get a good decent signal (at least 4G) from Vodafone in the location you will be placing the camera. You can use any other data SIM card of course and are not forced to use the Vodafone SIM card but it is very convenient.

    *** Storage: ***

The video footage recorded are stored onto the local SD Card. There are no SD Card with this package so be sure to purchase one of at least 16 GB before installation of this camera. Video footage are not big so can store quite a lot of videos. Once the card gets full it will delete older videos in favour of newer footage. The apps allows access to these videos, and you can download or share them from the app if you need to.

Reolink offers a free iCloud backup server for your cameras – however this is NOT available for this camera in the UK even though you can subscribed to said service. There is no way to add the camera and Reolink support have confirmed this. Saying that, it’s technically not needed since you can stream off the camera’s SD card directly. Not too big of an issue unless the camera was stolen.

    *** Solar Panel/Battery Life ***

The package that I purchased also comes with a solar panel which depending, on the location you are placing the camera, may or may not be as useful as it appears. I was very sceptical with the ability to keep the camera charged especially. with the typical British weather. However, it has not disappointed. It’s been in used for a month now and the battery has not dipped below 98%. I don’t anticipate any issues during the Summer months even on cloudy days. We will have to see how it turns out in the dark winter months.

    *** Quality of Footage ***

The camera records and stores both a quick access low data video, as well as a high quality video. Both are accessible via the app (and of course the SD Card). The quality is decent as with any outdoor cameras. Night vision is also as good as can be expected. Sensitivity may be a bit too high as we mostly catch several of the neighbourhood cats wandering around at night.

    *** Support: ***

I had to contact support a couple of times via email contact on their website. They are relatively quick to respond, and are very nice and helpful.

    *** Issues Encountered: ***

I had a few weird blips that I think I should mention for completeness.

Firstly, on the first day of installation, the camera would only get a 3G signal. This corrected itself to 4G the next day and have remained that way ever since. My guess is that the SIM card is still trying to find the correct phone towers to use at that point. Let me tell you, streaming over 3G is not pleasant and I was initially not impressed.

The 4G SD Card that I placed into the camera caused issues with video storage and playback. It was the only SD Card I had at that time and assumed it would be fine since the video stored were not big. The camera instructions did mention that the minimum SD Card size should be 16GB so once I placed it with the correct size, it worked splendidly and as expected.

There was a period in the last month (a few minutes) where the camera would not send a notification and I was not able to connect to the camera through the app. I initially thought the camera’s battery have ran out (although it claimed to be at a 100% that day). However, it turned out the camera was active, but there was no phone signal during that period – potentially a Vodafone issue rather than a camera issue. Video footage was still recorded onto the SD Card during the SIM card down time so the camera was operating correctly.

    *** Conclusion ***

I am completely surprised how well this camera worked especially considering the price (and was on offer at the time of purchase). It helped with security in places where there are no accessible wifi signals. It works just as well as any wifi camera, and paired with the solar panel a completely truly wireless alternatives. I have yet to see it in action during the dark Winter months but I do anticipate recharging the camera’s battery but we have to see.

For some reason first order went astray but excellent service from Amazon and refunded on gift card and used that to order replacement. Put camera up yesterday and after a few issues with the SIM card it’s all up and running. SIM was included in pack but the app from App Store was Vodafone smart app. That was what I found confusing. But pleased with camera

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was a little dubious about a camera run solely on 4G/3G and charged via a solar panel. I have got to say I’m so pleased I went ahead! I was quoted over 800 for a similar camera through a security company. This was not even 200 and has given me peace of mind that my horses are safe and keeping out of mischief. The alarm you can set off remotely is a little quiet but I’m sure if needed it would make someone realise they are being watched. You have a clear and fluent setting. The clear setting makes the picture much sharper but the playback a little jumpy. The fluent makes the picture less clear but playback is much smoother. When the horses are being naughty I can use the talk function to tell them off, and they wonder why they can hear me but not see me, but it works haha! I keep mine on the clear setting and the motion detection on 100%. I have had this for a couple of months and I’ve never had to charge it! Absolutely brilliant budget camera and I would recommend to anyone. I’m actually looking to get several more

    Brilliant camera for the cost!

I needed a reliable camera to observe a few pregnant mares this year. This camera was easy to set up and worked straight out of the box. I charged it before installing, used the sim that came with it at a very reasonable 4.00 per month, and now have perfect peace of mind without having to spend my nights sat in the car waiting for the foals to arrive. I’m not using the motion detector, but I might try it…
    Very pleased.

This is the second one of these we have purchased. They are perfect for a location where Wi-Fi is not available, in our case in our ponies field. This one came with a Vodafone VSim card so didn’t even need to sort a SIM card.
We added a memory card to store recordings. If we get an alert (to our mobiles) then we can quickly look at the playback to see what is happening. Usually the ponies playing chase it a fox crossing the paddock.
As a system these really do work, the only advice we would give is to check on your phone there is 4g available where you want to use it. Also get the version with a solar panel, in more than a year with the first one we have never had to charge the battery.
From getting out of the box to working took 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCaptured my rescue mare having a foal! Perfect – so happy!
I didn’t have any daylight access whilst having the camera docked in the stable so it was a case of taking the back off every 4/5 days and retrieving the battery to take home and charge. In hindsight I would have bought two batteries so one was constantly charged and ready to swap over. I now have the camera set up outdoors. Its day three of using it with solar panel and all seems to be working well – battery seems to stay topped up in the 90 percent end. I really like the feature where you can set the sensitivity of the motion sensor depending on use. I have to switch off constant notifications to my phone as when set to high its as often as every few minutes with horses but it’s handy to have saved as clips to watch back later incase anything were to happen. Great product, have recommended to friends and I will be buying one more for another area of the field later in the spring

The camera gives a very clear picture, great motion detection and a clear microphone, happy with all these features. It was simple to set up too.
I’d like the connection to the phone to be quicker and more robust, but I suspect that has many contributing variables. The loudspeaker could have greater intelligibility, but that’s being picky. Good value and a quality product, glad I bought it.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersWanted the complete package that included the solar panel to charge the battery, After all its a 3g/4g sim only device.

The kit contains the camera, rubber camouflage skin, mounting brackets and solar panel with mounts. Cables for charging from USB and cables to connect solar panels to camera.

Setting up the device is very easy. Download the app and follow the instructions, disappointed that an sd card isn’t included for recording. We fitted a class 10 32gb card. We charged the battery from USB before setting up outside.

The camera is easy to set up and we went with recommended Vodafone data sim.

Camera image quality is excellent in daylight and darkness. Sound communication is a bit hit and miss.
To save data we just login to view and log back out.

What’s really disappointing is how quickly the battery is dischargeing. We presumed the USB solar panel would keep the camera fully charged. Camera is only on motion detection from 6pm to 8am. So far after 12 days of use battery is only at 32% even when connected to solar charger. Battery life will be a big issue as we have mounted the camera quite high in our stable to keep the camera out of reach of the horses. It will be a real pain if we need to keep unmounting the camera to charge! Not contacted support yet to get advice.

    PROS
Remote camera that actually works well
    Great image quality
    Easy setup
    CONS
    Battery life

If battery drain can be sorted I would rate 5 star.

MARCH UPDATE AFTER A FEW GOOD SUNNY DAYS BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED. WINTER WILL BE AN ISSUE, SO BE WARNED WHERE YOU MOUNT IT AS IT WILL NEED A CHARGE FROM THE MAINS IF WEATHER IS DULL.check out update images showing charge state

Nice security camera and my own fault I didn’t check, but the option to upload recording to the cloud is not available in the UK. This is pretty key for me as the camera is easily accessible, but if it’s not an issue for you then its a good camera, the motion sensor is good, good recording quality and was easy to set up, once I spoke to Vodaphone who explained how to set the SIM up! Am sure the more techno minded wouldn’t have any trouble. Not sure how good the solar charger is, been cloudy most of the time since we had installed it, so have had to charge it once at home, but weather and location may be the fault there.

5/5 from me, bought to keep an eye on my horses, I thought ppl were walking through my fields and letting horses into another field and closing the gate behind them leaving them with no water!!! TURNS out the horses know how to open gates! No WiFi needed, no electric hook up needed! 5 a month for 4G! Easy to set up! Only down side is the strap rather than using fixings so I can move it about, the camera is maybe too heavy for the strap but it doesn’t affect working order as the camera is easily adjustable. A bit blurry when zoomed in but I don’t need clear identity with this! No camera stops trespassers anyway! Or gets them caught let’s face it lol a top buy ! Just pricy but I’m saving up for another one.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this cctv camera with solar panel for my garage which is located in a garage block without power elsewhere, I wanted to be alerted of any movement or break in Attempt. It’s perfect and I would highly recommend. The SIM card that comes with it costs me 4 pound a month unlimited data… so I can access it as much as I like … I installed it with 58% battery and the solar charged it up to 100% within a couple of days. Probably because I kept testing it and using some battery power. Easy to install and setup , I used some outside weatherproof Velcro tape to pin my solar to roof. Could of fixed it to the bracket if it was an end Garage but it’s a middle garage and back of it is in some else’s garden !! Not an easy fix but this ticked all the boxes for me and worth every penny . Mounted another dead lock on garage door now I have complete faith storing tools with lock and cctv. Early days for battery etc but it’s September and I live in newcastle so mainly cloudy lol .. battery certainly charging without issue. Don’t hesitate to buy this for somewhere without power it’s so impressive. And definitely use the dedicated sim it comes with it’s cheaper then any other provider for data.

    Worth every penny

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersEasy to set up and registration with Vodafone went smoothly. App shows the battery which, with the solar panel, has remained at 100%. Occasionally detected a passing cat or badger in night. Adjustable sensitivity is good. You can take snapshots with the app and play back auto recordings, which happen when it detects movement. Can also notify you when movement is detected.
But… There’s no web site or API, so you can’t use it for timelapse or scheduled recordings.

Works well for what it is

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAfter reading many reviews online and watching you tube videos this looked like the perfect piece of kit for my needs.

My Dad has a farm in the middle of know where with people fly tipping in front of his access gate, but with no power or WiFi this camera ticks all the boxes.
What should be an easy set up seemed to be very hard work and for some reason the camera would not connect to the app using the QR code scanner. Even though the camera had registered “network connected successfully” I am using a Three pre-paid data SIM loaded with 24GB.

I managed to connect the camera after about 80 times but the following day it lost connection. I was pretty fed up now. I made a video and sent it to the Reolink support team and the following day I had a response. I sent over the details of the camera, about 1 hour later I was told to try and re pair the camera again and it worked 1st time!

seems there was something blocking the TCP protocol, having said that Reolink support were very helpful and the camera has been working ever since.

What is good about the camera it does record locally to an SD card so you’re not constantly using data only for live video feed and playback from the SD card.

Great camera perfect for a remote location without power and/or an internet connection. The camera quality and recordings are excellent as is the motion detection. The microphone picks up even everything in the locality and is very sensitive. All in all a superb well made piece of kit. There are some things that could be better and I’m sure with upgrades they will come into the camera. Very annoying that you can’t view recordings from the camera and you physically have to retrieve the memory card. You can however record direct to your phone upon An alert for motion detection but you need to be near your phone to get things running. All in all a great camera that does exactly what it says it does.

So pleased with this product, very easy to set up. Took no more than 10 minutes. Viewing the camera of an afternoon can be somewhat static and I may get a live stream for about 5 seconds but just have to hit the refresh button, but think this is more a Vodafone issue I feel rather than the camera. Of a morning I can stream for over an hour without any interruption and that’s set at 1080p. The Solar panel has been charging the camera all day and has kept the battery at 65% but this is probably due to the amount of times I am checking the camera. Not sure how it charges in normal British weather as today was very sunny and have to add that even though the sun isn’t shining on the solar panel for about 4 hours now it is still supplying a charge to the camera. This has provided such peace of mind hence why I cannot praise this product enough and have already recommended to a friend whom has ordered one.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersDoes what it says on the tin, absolutely no complaints there.

There are some things not mentioned on the tin which make this less than perfect:
    – only takes 10 second clips
    – is slow to wake to movement and can miss some of the action.
    – IR lights are ‘on at night’ or ‘off at night’. ‘On at night’ uses a fair bit of battery, off at night means that the PIR trips, but you get a recording of darkness. Why-oh-why did they not include ‘turn IR lights on at night when PIR trips’ option.

Otherwise reasonably hassle free set up and usage. User interface takes some getting used to, and connecting to the camera sometimes takes a while (this may be 3G signal levels, and that may shift the blame to Vodaphone).

Summary: If they addressed the three issues it would be an impressive piece of kit.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersDoes what it says on the tin, absolutely no complaints there.

There are some things not mentioned on the tin which make this less than perfect:

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI really like this it works great and exactly how it should. The battery life cannot be knocked as even without the solar panel it hardly drains. The solar panel keeps it to near on 100% all the time. In fluent and clear mode its really good and clear (obviously better in clear mode)
The live streaming is good however it sometimes lags which i suppose is expected but is slightly frustrating sometimes when you have to press it a few times.
Motion detection is good. It picks up well. And records well quite a few seconds before and after its been detected. Sometimes doesnt get everything but defo works well.
I do wish it could record 24/7 however it never claimed to constant record so cannot be too picky.
I have a 64gb sim card in it and its hardly used any of the card over a fortnight. The 4g sim i had a bit of trouble with (do NOT insert it into your phone) its only 4 a month which isnt bad at all!
Nightvision is very clear and very impressed with it! App is good and really easy to navigate and playback and change settings.

Overall this is really good. And i have recommenced already to a number of my horsey friends (i have this to keep an eye on my horses.

EDIT after having this for a number of months i am still impressed with it but i thought id highlight a few things. Firstly the solar panel keeps charged even in the winter however sometimes i find it has dropped low and needs unplugging and replugging to almost ‘reboot’ the charging process.
Also sometimes the app can be slightly buggy and not let you view the camera. It can also have very little signal which can make it frustrating when you have to press it a few times to view. Still happy with it though and use it daily to check my horses

Great, everything you expect it to be.
