The Designer
Scottish by birth, Gordon Ramsay was brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. With an injury prematurely putting and end to any hopes of a promising career in football, he went back to college to complete a course in hotel management. His dedication and natural talent led him to train with some of the leading chefs, such as Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White in London, and Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon in France. In 1993 Gordon became chef of Aubergine in London. Within three years he was awarded two Michelin stars. In 1998, at the age of 31, Ramsay set up his first wholly owned and namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which quickly received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world – three Michelin stars. Today, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is London’s longest -running restaurant to hold this accolade, and Ramsay is one of only four chefs in the U.K. to maintain three stars.

I was tired of buying dishes that would get marked by silverware! These are such a soft peaceful color that I use them all the time. Each item is the perfect size. No more dishes from Target!
Very attractive dishes. I love the color. The balance of the cups is just right. Good for daily use or company.
I love these dishes. However one of them arrived broken, which is honestly a shame. If this vendor sends me a new replacement plate I’ll change my review.
Edit: Amazon refunded me an entire box replacement instead of the single plate. I find it overkill but hey, I’m not complaining.
These are good, definitely more an off white than true white, they are a generous size, nicely weighted and the box has a creepy picture of Gordy to scare yourself with. The set is very good but you are paying a premium for Gordy’s name and it is Royal Doulton after all. The Maze restaurant has now closed/been renamed I do believe, but I tell myself that if the set was good enough for Michelin Star food it is good enough for my beans on toast. Would I buy again – yes – I’ve already added pasta bowls!
I loved them so much I bought some for our daughter too. Simply elegant and nothing nicer than white dishes to showcase your meal. Would buy them again for sure
There is something about the sweetness of the pale blue maze that to me is relaxing to the eye. I love the size of the coffee/tea mugs. Not too huge that it’s impossible to finish a mug before it gets cold, to me anyway. The plates are of a good size, with concentric circles which I read somewhere draws the eyes to the food in the middle. I do wish, though, that the set contained four 5″ plates. Still having to use my old 5″ plates. But overall, I am very happy with this purchase, and highly recommend.

Lovely design and workmanship! Affordable and long-standing! This is my second set to add to my first set of same design. Needed more plate settings.
The dinner plates were a little big and didn’t fit in my new cupboards so I put them in a drawe
Purchased as a gift and it arrived very quickly. They are very happy with the classic design.
So pleased with these lovely plates and bowls; I bought 2 sets. I would say they area a warm white colour. I love the fact that the plates are slightly wider than my old ones yet still fit nicely in the dishwasher. I am just more careful with the loading now as they have a definite curved lip on them so fit closer together. I like this design of plate as it’s so useful if you like a lot of gravy! I don’t know yet about durability as haven’t had them long but overall I’m very happy with them.

Lovely strong statement dinner set. Large plates, deep medium size plates/dishes, soup/fruit/cereal bowls. Well packaged. Classical clean lines with stoneware strength. Bought as a gift. The recipients love them.

These plates/bowls/cups are great. They are sturdy and durable. They are not white but I am okay with that.
Bought the set as I needed to replace a couple of bowls from the same range. They are slightly bigger than the original bowls but fine. The plates were an added bonus. Nice design, very durable everyday dinner service.

Spent a while looking round department stores for a good simple design dinner set. Found this one. Great value for money. Would say more an off white. Great design downside is not oven proof and had to purchase 2 sets as only come with 4 plates etc.. Arrived securely in loads of packaging.
I have rated the product 5 stars because it would be unfair to rate it negatively. It looks great, excellent quality and we are very happy with it. Whatever is left of it anyway…
Unfortunately the delivery and experience with Amazon customer service deserves 1 star!
The outer carton was not displaying any FRAGILE / Handle with Care sticker and arrived visibly damaged.
Two of the dinner plates were broken and after contacting Amazon they offered to refund the product, but I have to send it back to the UK at my expense, before being refunded in full (including shipping costs).
Australia Post is quoting in excess of $150 to send it back to the UK! what a waste!!!!
So now I am left with broken dinner plates and will probably wear the cost of buying the replacements because I think it is a disgrace to send rubbish back to the other side of the world for absolutely no reason.
Shame…

As reliable as always from Dalton. But the colour is a little grey shadowy than perfect white. Wondering what ‘light grey’ set would look like.
Having already owned this dinner set we ordered some more to top it up.
Very elegant design, seems sturdy enough. I put it through dishwasher and it came out nice and shiny. Colour is not white, though, it is more creamy. Price is very good. I found it on Dunelm and eBay website for much more. All in all very pleased and I would recommend it.
One of my plates was broken in the box. i have disposed of it and ordered a replacement plate from Dunelm rather than send the whole lot back.

3 years in the quality of the crockery is evident. The new set just purchased is indistinguishable from the 3 year old set. That’s had a family of four using it every day with daily dishwashing. I’m very impressed.
The design continues to be impressive, simple but attractive, and frames your plate of food very nicely. I really like the higher lip on the plates as it “contains” your food in a more secure manner and keeps that gravy and those peas where they’re meant to be.
All in all, a good price, quick delivery, and you get a HUGE Gordon Ramsey face on the side of the box which when cut out provides endless fun for my 2 girls!

Great set, I ordered 2! Unfortunately even after reading reviews and thinking I had measured correctly, the dinner plate is too big for my dishwasher. I’m still happy overall though. Came well packed and in perfect condition.

I was attracted more by the Royal Doulton name rather than Gordon Ramsay the latter might have easily put me off buying.
Anyway the dinner set is excellent. I bought one set initially then bought another as I was so pleased with it. The glazing is excellent as you would imagine from Royal Doultan and is a beautiful off white colour. I also love the ribbed pattern. I bought also from other suppliers the two different styles of mugs and also the large tea/cappuccino cups and saucers and I’ve recently purchased the pasta/soup bowls. All in all I have a eight place setting. They go through the dishwasher perfectly and up to now look as good as new with lots of use. I would highly recommend.

I’ve had these and the mugs for over 2 years now and I use them everyday.. They are still in perfect condition great quality, I will be getting another set in due course!
Clear seconds but worth the money we paid. Perhaps seconds should be sold as seconds in the description though.
I’m not sure exactly when we bought these – at least a few years ago. We use the dinner plates every day, the smaller plates and bowls less often. The dinner plates are very good in use, as the shape works well for food with any kind of juices or sauce. However, the shape of the plates means that they don’t fit so easily in a dishwasher, compared with flatter plates. They have withstood being cleaned in the dishwasher a few hundred times at least. We haven’t used with steak knives.
Regarding the quality of the product : we have two sets of these and one plate is slightly blue, but all other pieces are OK.
At the discount prices available, these are very good value IMHO.
