After the iBirdie 20ft HDMI 2.1 cable failed to be able to handle 4K120 I ordered this. Much more expensive but absolutely worth it. Handles 4K120 at 10bpc without breaking a sweat. No flicker or anything. Just works great. Get this cable if you’re trying to run 4K120 and need a really long HDMI cable.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis was the only 10 meter HDMI 2.1 cable I could find that supported 4K HDR at the time. Needed a solution to connect an Onkyo AV receiver to an Epson 4K projector. Previously I tried another well known brand’s 25 foot direct wired cable that would not reliably pass the signal even though it was supposed to be rated for it. The wired cable would only support lower resolutions and gave a black screen when trying to pass HDCP protected 4K content.

The Ruipro 8K active optical cable worked perfectly from the start on every signal format, and I like the slim, flexible design of this optical cable compared to the fat and stiff copper HDMI. This made it much easier to route the cable through the walls.

Unfortunately the Ruipro failed suddenly after about 10 months of every day use. Happily, the Ruipro customer support was great! I emailed their tech support and received a reply within 1 day, and they sent a new replacement to me immediately at no charge, no hassle.

LG CX 48″. RTX 3090. 3840×2160, 10bpc, 120Hz, HDR, G-sync. All works flawlessly with the 25m cable, did not use the USB add-on thing (manual explicitly says not to use it with GPUs). All for $172, unfathomable. Excellent product, build quality, packaging (UPS dinged the package real good but the product was totally fine, just the outer layer of cardboard had a dent. Cable was totally fine as it was wrapped and had both cloth and plastic covering) shipping time. Would highly recommend. Cable is mildly flexible and is built like a tank, excellent to protect the fiber optic inside.

I purchased this cable based on Reddit recommendations for a long run 4K 120Hz capable HDMT cable.

I have this running under my house from one side of my living room to the other. The cable connects my AV receiver to my Sony X91J’s eARC HDMI port. Thus far, there have been ZERO issues with signal drops using the following sources attached to my receiver and connected via the one HDMI out to the TV eARC port: Xfinity 4K streamer, Chromecast (1080P), Firestick (1080P, and Sony UBP-X800M2 4K UHD player. The sound (Atmos or DD) from streaming services using the TV’s built-in Netflix, HBO MAX, Prime and Bravia all sounds like I expect and has yet to drop. There is some latency getting the sub to enage, but that seems to be more a function of frequency range more than anything else. The Sony TV remote perfectly controls the 4K UHD BRD player flawlessly. Othe eARC functionality like turning on the receiver by powering the TV works just fine. SUPER happy that I can, for the most part, toss my X800M2 remote which was IR and thus awkward to use given my layout.

While I cannot comment on a gaming over this cable, I can state that it works very well for the above use case.

I ordered a 15M RuiPro 8K Fiber HDMI cable from Amazon for my contractor. We were testing the cable between a new Playstation 5 and Sony X90J TV. We are able to get 4K 60hz content but are not able to achieve 120hz. We have used the Active USB HDMI at the source Playstation 5 as well as at the TV same result. There are no wall jacks or equipment in between the PS5 or TV. HDMI Port 3 and 4 at set to enhanced on the Sony.

The PS5 and TV are fully updated.

RUIPRO support reached out and were had a lot of good clarifying questions about settings. We worked through the support and the cable was replaced! I finally had time to run the new cable through the buffer tube I ran thank goodness and I can now get 4K 120hz and HDR! So thank you RUIPRO for the excellent support. I can now highly recommend the cable and the company that stepped up!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI ran into an issue where I couldn’t get this cable to work with my RTX 3080 but ended up finding a fix. I reached out to Customer Service and received fast responses and great support!

TLDR: If this cable is not working with your computer/gaming setup, then lower your refresh rate or turn off your monitor’s overclock setting!

I have the LG 27GN950-B which is a 4K 144hz monitor, which can also overclock to 160hz through the built-in monitor settings.

I bought an HDMI to ethernet converter to see if this would be better than a longer HDMI cable, and I ran into the same problem I did using the Ruipro Cable (no output/Display on my TV)

I have three 4k Monitors plugged into my pc as usual (one being the LG monitor I just mentioned), and I could see my TV show up under Windows 10 Display Settings, but the TV did not show up under Nvidia Control Panel.

I tried unplugging one of my 4k monitors (not the LG one), and I was able to get my Desktop to show up on the TV. I did try this same troubleshooting method of unplugging a monitor using the Ruipro cable as well, but it didn’t make a difference (not sure why).

After a while of troubleshooting, I saw someone mention something about their monitor’s refresh rates.
So, I tried to set my LG monitor to 60hz to match my TV and the other monitors, but the Nvidia Control Panel wouldn’t let me.

That’s when I realized the overclock setting was enabled to 160hz on the monitor itself, which is done through the monitor’s built-in settings and not through Windows or Nvidia (I enabled this setting a year ago and forgot about it).

I turned off the overclock feature, and the HDMI to ethernet converter worked with all three monitors plugged in along with the TV (turning off the overclock feature brought the monitor from 160hz to 144hz which is still good!).

After that, I decided to try the Ruipro cable again to see if the 160hz was causing the same problem.
As soon as I plugged in the cable it started working no problem!

I was having intermittent video connection problems connecting my 3090 to a Samsung Q90a TV with the 33 foot variant of the green Ruipro cable. this was an improvement after trying 5 different HDMI 2.1 cables > 30 feet of length from various vendors where I could not get 4k 120fps HDR at all. With this cable when switching resolutions or turning on and off HDR for gaming I would lose signal about half the time.

I contacted Ruipro and they were very helpful. They asked for identifying information to figure out which batch the cable came from and then shipped me a replacement.

I’m happy to share the replacement cable is working perfectly. Thank you!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have had a HDMI cable, network cable and USB extension lead stashed away nicely inside some trunking, and run between the floorboards for around 4 years as my PC/office is in a bedroom and I like to game on the couch with my main TV sometimes. This has served me well since first setting it up at a time when “4K” was just taking off.

When upgrading my GPU, and more recently my TV, I realised the cable was no longer up to the task and I was getting a weird stuttering effect when trying to enable HDR in Windows with the resolution at 4k 120hz. I could either have fully blown HDR at 60hz, or 120hz without the HDR which was quite annoying.

I did some research and ended up with this cable. It was what I would consider EXTREMELY expensive (for a cable) but ultimately it solves all the issues I had and there are literally no compromises needed anymore.

RGB 4:4:4 10 bit HDR 4k 120 Hz and the freesync range is 40-120hz. This is basically the best of the best in 2021 over a distance of 10 metres.

I did a quick cable test on my Denon 3700h, and it did indeed pass up to 8k(40Gbps). I swapped out my existing cable, and bam, my HDR and pass-through issues were resolved. At 40′, I have all the goodies HDR, newest color space, running 4k@60hz/120hz. I waited before I ran this in my ceiling/wall, and here I am a few months later, and it is working perfectly. I could not get the sound to work propetly using Earc after ordering 4 brand new 40 to 50 ft. 48gps 120hz hdmi cables from other companies including monoprice. The ordeal was frustrating because the first two cables were ran behind sheetroock from one room to another to only realize the cables did not work and then subsequently had to be removed.

Yes Ruipro is a little more expensive than some other brands but Earc support worked right away and the picture was perfect. With that being said, you can order a cheaper cable and hope it works with the newer tvs, receivers and gaming consoles that support 8k and or 120hz, or you can save time and frustration and order a cable that works the first time out of the box as advertised Five out of Five stars !

This worked out of the gate, full stop. No flicker, no issues. Didn’t even have to use the USB power adaptor that came in the box, although it’s great that it’s there. This was more money than I wanted to spend on a cable for this, but I have to admit that investing in a fiber cable absolutely solved the problem.

Did exactly what I needed it to do. I contacted RUIPRO through Amazon asking if the cable was GEN3 and they confirmed it in a less than 2 hours. I have the 12m version and it worked perfectly. Sure, it’s expensive, but at least you can be sure it works over longer distances. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of trying cheaper cables and not getting it to work.

Great product. Expensive cable but definitely worth it for longer runs. My previous cable couldn’t deliver 4K over 10m but this does it no problem. Eliminated all sparkle interference from the image too.

You often read that HDMI cables are all the same so get a cheap one. Not the case here. Worth every penny.

I’ve now been using this cable for a few weeks and it turns out it’s fine for HD, 4K.

But not for HDR 10. It will not pass HDR 10 signal along its 13m length. So this is turned out to be a complete waste of money. It does nothing more than my old cheap HDMI cable I had in when I had an HD projector. HDR eight seems okay, but if you’re using services like Disney+ they don’t seem to support 4K unless you have 4K HDR 10. So it outputs in HD not 4K when using that service with this HDMI cable. NOTE. This cable is a One Direction cable make sure you install it the right way round if hiding behind walls or trunking. One end is for the sauce the other end is for the screen.

Install it the wrong way round and it will not work at all

So I don’t really feel qualified to put out a review, I just needed a long cable to reach from my PC to my 4K 120hz TV and this does just that. I wish there was a cheaper alternative, however the quality of the cable can be clearly seen, and the fibre optic cable is much more flexible compared to a copper alternative.

Love the quality of this cable. After adding an Epson 3800 projector to my home theater eco system, I had issues with the Xbox one x and the shield outputting to 4K hdr over about 40 feet. I narrowed it down to the cable from the receiver and purchased this. It solved all my problems. Beautiful picture through all devices and no issues with the signal. A little pricier due to being fiber but a better value than other fiber cables. I have no problems recommending this at all.

Did just what it sailed on the pk. In every day use since we got it. BRILLIANT.

I picked these up for burying in the walls behind my wall mounted TV. Needed the 3 metre length to cover that, and it worked out fantastic. I was kinda worried I’d need crazy expensive fibre type active cables but these work just fine.

Better than fine in fact, the stock cable that came with my xbox isnt as colour vibrant as these are. The cable itself is solid, quality feel. Not super flexible given they are thick. And connectors are plated as the picture showed. Nice end caps to keep the connectors clean in transit. Tested on my samsung and Gigabyte M28u as HDR compatible and 120hz enabled no issues

Well packaged and the 3m cable is a decent length. Plugged it to connect old Macbook to a non-smarty TV and straight away works great.

I have tried all streaming methods such as Steam link, Moonlight, NVidia gamestream and all had lag, artefacts or strange connection issues. This was the only way I was able to get my RTX3080 to output to an LG C9 downstairs. The first cable I received was defective and would cut out randomly after a few minutes. I contacted RUIPRO and they shipped a replacement from China 3 days later. Since then it was worked flawlessly. Can finally play games on my couch without macro blocking, minimal latency and high refresh rate.

The only negative is the price, will have to baby this cable as its too expensive to just leave strewn about.

I want to start by saying the color is so bad with this cable. The Build Quality and Construction is Fantastic. It was Easy to run the cable around obstacles, and corners. The Cable was Easy to Install and incredibly flexible to maneuver. I had bought two Monoprice Fiber cables first with the same specs. Those cables failed to recieve a resolution past 1080p. This cable immediately worked between my E9 OLED and RTX 3070. I’m getting full bandwidth of hdmi 2.1 with chroma at 4:4:4 12bit color at 120hz! (the E9 is only a 10bit panel) Buy this cable if you are looking for an amazing quality hdmi 2.1 cable, and you happen to need a cable longer than 16′.

I had a tricky route between amplifier and projector of over 11 metres though conduit.
Little did I know in the first install how critical cable is to full 4K HDR signals!
Not only is mere HD HDMI cable not up to the huge data transmission required, but any sort of extension leads are a no-no because digital copy protection software witchcraft detects the join and actually prevents you watching 4K as they believe you must be trying to breach the copyright – Doh!
One unbroken cable has to be used between devices.
Research led me to this product as had reliable reviews and wasn’t extreme audiophile exotica expensive but neither suspiciously cheap.
The cable being fibre optic means I could ‘pull’ it through the conduit using a pulling string wisely left- in during the build. Note: I used copious globs of cable-pulling lube to aid the process and extra care in taping up the leading end of the new cable to make a nice taper and also ensure pulling forces could not put too much stress on the cable end terminal.
Job done and I have 4K HDR 10bit colour from an Amazon fire cube tv box via an Anthem AVR to Epson 4K pixel shift projector- I’m most happy with end result.
NB: Had this installed for approx 10 months with no issues at all.
